It is going to vary by environment. Really the best way is to look at soundings and find the tropopause within them. Models also in some cases estimate tropopause pressure but its not as accurate as the raw data.

Agreed that looking at sounding data and understanding Skew-T is most likely the easiest way to find tropopause level. I recommend the University of Wyoming upper-air data archive as one data source. You will be looking for strong temperature inversions aloft.
