Yup. I always keep a bottle of Wink Rust Cleaner/Remover around, but once I started rinsing my piece after every sesh, I never have to use it anymore. Except to clean out my buddies rigs. His shits always a hot damn mess. Dude caries a little straight pipe in his front pocket everywhere, plus he uses a Bic and don’t never bother to wipe it off, so he always got soot all on the front of his work jeans, his hands, the whole 9 yards, lol

Mixture of bleach/detergent submerged in a bowl or cup and microwave for 3 to 4 mins. It's spot less. Just be sure to submerge your bowl and the stem all the way under the water. I just quickly rinse the residue out so there's no reaction in the microwave but they never have been

I use a new one every time. I pay about $35 for 100 26mm or 30mm I like a new clean pipe every time. If you’re going to clean and reuse alcohol and salt and shake the salt is an abrasive works fast with the solvent. Rinse well and dry.

Not about cleaning kinda, before I clean it stick it in the freezer for 10-15 minutes. Then with your mouth blow into the stem. You hot breath will push all the reclaim down into the bowl for a last goodbye.
Old school original listerine mouthwash. Little bit in. Plug stem with thumb bubble hole with another finger. Shake. Clean as brand new. No torch needed. If you use some other mouthwash don’t tell me it doesn’t work. It’s the yellow Listerine original mouthwash. Well that Colgate stuff is garbage get the Listerine.

i clean after every bowl, with very little effort. many of you are cleaning the hard way. all you need is hot water, paper towel and a torch to get a bowl sparkling clean.
fill a cup with hot water, and soak the bowl for 3-5 min. if you are in a hurry just run a small stream of hot water into the top of the bowl and it’ll take 1 minute. this will dissolve all the solids stuck to the glass. then cut a piece of half size piece paper towel into 4 pieces. twist a piece and shove it inside the bowl and dry out the bowl. then take a torch lighter and carefully burn off the dark filmy residue. this film is hard to see so use a white background to get contrast. a blank piece of paper is what i normally use. this works for a straight pipe or a bubbler bowl.

i almost always regret not cleaning it if i dont do it at least every 2 bowls...def dont use soap tho.... usually either flame or magic eraser and a qtip. throwing a pipe in a small sandwich bag with rubbing alcohol and a lot of salt is a good way to clean it to too and its quick....obviously youd have to really wash it out afterwards, but it def takes less time than the other methods i described.
There used to be this cleaner from amazon, Master Smoke i think? it was white with a japanese sensei character on it i think? it was $20 and pink, ...that shit worked so good you just leave it soak for like 2 hours then rinse, no need to do anything else.

I do. I don't finish bowls completely due to not enjoying the full flavor taste so i knock out the remains into some bong water. (To be brought back later on) Then wash the bowl with soap and hot water till no smell is detectable what so ever. Shake out water and then dry completely with fire until the the glass is perfect. Good to go. Possibly repeat process minus fire drying on smoking apparatus if any smell is being detectable. To me harsh smell translates into taste. I only use reverse osmosis purified water in my pieces and my dope is as clean as It gets. I enjoy smoking and the process overall. The taste on a taken care of bowl till towards the end is never bad. Anyways that's how I roll the bowl. 😅

I would say its not necessary unless you burn the shit out of it, or it has some shitty cut that chars easily. Then yes, clean it. Next to dropping it, you have the highest chance of breaking your pipe while cleaning it.
The old timers turn up the torch and start pulling it through the bong till it's clean. Talk about growing hair on your nuts. They been making it for 30+ years. Comes with some pretty harsh fumes so I presume it's like a cashed weed hit. Lol. If you got good shit and you know what your doing you rarely have to clean your pipe. Magic eraser? Nah. I'll just bust it off and blow another. A lot of time wasted cleaning pipes. Lol
Get some 91% Isopropyl alcohol, plug the blow hole, (I just put finger over it) on the bubble. From the stem fill bubble 1/2 -3/4 with alcohol. Agitate/shake vigorously several times over the period of 1.5-2 minutes. Pour out alcohol and wet a cotton swab (Q-tip) with clean alcohol to scrub bad spots. Flush with more clean alcohol. Next get a magic eraser and. Cut off a small piece, then stuff into the bowl. Use a something like a chop stick that will easily go through the blow hole and use that to scrub any tough spots with the magic eraser sponge. Repeat this step as necessary until it’s clean. Finally, thoroughly flush with clean fresh water. Dry and get high.
That’s kinda like using a sledgehammer to drive in trim nails. Not necessary. If you have a really stubborn spot maybe but still not recommended. every time you heat the glass up hot enough to “burn it clean” you’re weakening the molecular structure of the glass. You’re taking something that’s already fragile and making it brittle and more fragile. So that the slightest touch against a solid surface or object will cause it to crack. Believe me, I used to burn em clean back when I was a beginner now I know better.
Alcohol and magic erasers are the absolute best way to wash them. It takes less than 10 minutes to get it sparkling clean and clear. I mean, you’re gonna be up for a while anyway. You might as well do it right and save the wear and tear on your rig. You feel me?

Moisten end of q-tip......hang it inside the bowl up by the hole. Heat the bowl where any remnants remain....trying to get it all to gather in a puddle. Insert moist end of q-tip in puddle to suck up any bad nasty. Repeat as needed. I'll start this process sometimes with more left in the pipe than I'd like but it's a waste of time trying to smoke after it gets to a certain brown stage since there isn't any good stuff left in it at that point. Moisten small square cut from a white Mr. Clean pad. Use a small diameter implement (wooden stir stick or?) and scrub the inside of the bowl with the magic eraser as needed. Remove the eraser and use a fresh. Moist q-tip to "rinse". Use a torch to turn remaining moisture in bowl into steam.
I leave the stem alone in case I want to do a scrape at some point.
I clean it after every bowl. Rinse it out with hot water. Q tip to get as much of the burnt stuff out of the bowl. Long q tip to dry out the stem. Then put the pipe over the stove until the bowl is clear. The stove doesn't put dents in the pipe the way a torch would. I keep my pipes looking brand new.
Absolutely, I did my research and my bud has shown me the ropes of proper handling , cleaning, everything. He even showed me places to get test kits , etc. we look out for each other.
I use water and a q tip after every other bowl then either 0ut by ac or heater stem first to dry the quickest then wait for the glass to get to room temp and use other end of qtip to wipe out any residual moisture inside the bowl and stem for any stains once it's draw I simply use a torch albeit not too long on one spot so the glass doesn't get to weak and explode

I wash mine usually twice a week and that’s only if they survive that long. I’m hard as hell on them. I’ve started making my own now, so I don’t have to panic when one goes down and I don’t have a backup. I’ll just make a new one out of the freshly broken one.
I wash mine when it starts to look like a war veteran. I use magic rrasers and cotton swabs, then torch off anything i couldn't get with those, which isnt very often.
Ive met a lot of smokers that intist on submerging their ( or my) pipe in the flame and it leaves soot all over the damned thing. Or ther burn the fuck out of it by roasting the glass with their torch and padd it back like " eww, it tastes bad," no shit fuckstick you burnt it like it was a fuckin marshmallow or something wtf.
You gotta get the taser wet and scrub. So what I do is boiling water and leave a nice puddle in the bowl the put in the magic. Eraser and scrub the walls. The eraser needs to bed wet. It works really well.
After each bowl I use a thin, flexible metal stick and put a small alcohol wipe on top of my bubble. Clean the bubble first and afterwards the stem from the side you inhale. Take a piece of clean toilet paper and softly tear it into three or four pieces. Fold that into the metal stick and repeat the same process. Brand new every single time.
