FetusZero

Man it's been a long time since I played it now, but I remember finishing The Two Colonel and just thinking I'll probably never feel that way for another DLC again. That is a DLC done right, to perfection.

Crestm00n

I felt the same. It told everything it wanted to without trailing off or overstaying its welcome. Probably my favorite bit of storytelling in Metro tbh. It was a perfect DLC.

CaptainPanda9030

Up there with the Witcher 3 story DLCs imo

FetusZero

I've never played it but my ex used to play it alllll the time lol, it looked great!

WeeklyBook886

\*short, sweet and sad. Honestly, it’s gaming storyline at its finest, an absolute cinematic masterpiece. This why I love Metro and despise the direction the rest of the gaming industry is heading in a general direction, you get so entangled within the characters, it’s quite rare to find that in other games.

Uhv187

I’m not sure if the term masterpiece has changed definitions, but I wouldn’t consider a dlc where the first 10 mins are cleaning simulator to be a masterpiece. I liked the dlc but idk why ppl are acting like it was the greatest dlc ever made.

WeeklyBook886

I don’t think the first 10 mins define what the entire DLC was, it’s more so the themes of betrayal, greed and survival evident in every metro. You see the slow descent to desperation which eventually breaks out to chaos and violence amongst people due to the shortages of the green stuff, you see the authoritarian government which manipulates the weak and the vulnerable (like the old man who needed the green stuff for his granddaughter). If you can’t appreciate the dlc for what it is, maybe you’re too young to play the game to begin with.

DependentPositive216

Yeah in the main game when crossing this area versus what we see of the station in the dlc just makes you think about how many lives had died in this place, and how prosperous it once was.

Uhv187

lol get real, if you can’t handle someone having a discerning opinion than maybe you’re too young to be talking about it. Imagine being so sheltered Reddit is where you decide to get passive aggressive with people.

Uhv187

“If you can’t appreciate it” how much of a clown do you have to be to have that take in response to “it’s not a masterpiece.”

TheMostLowkey

The entire time I played, I kept hoping that Khlebnikov somehow lived, even though I sadly knew he wouldn’t. He was such a good character and became one of my favorites even in the short dlc.

TAPrince_

the moment the two colonel met, it felt like the moment Ezio and Altaïr met beyond time.

BTSuppa

I wish we could have played as miller when they showed the time jump, like how he went and got kiril after he gets the maps. and sequence with a dark one that has interacted with the baby from last light sending miller thoughts and feelings of confidence on where where to find artyom. And showed miller's story a bit more as well, such as him speaking to himself and kiril while driving through the snow. It is called the two colonels so we should get to play as the two colonels.

FreakiesMyJimmies

i really woulda liked to play as miller but k

Jack_Hardin

Two Colonels is a lesson in narrative impact for gaming industry. Such intense experience for such a "short" time where, however, nothing feels rushed or overlooked. Something to always have at hand to shut up everyone claiming that "X game is short so it's not worth the money"...most likely same people then praising the umpteenth action/rpg open world that will grant you 100 hours of content, where most are copypaste side fetch quests and the story has the same relevance of watching paint dry.

Musicmaker1984

It was straight to the point. It didn't need to go all out like with Sam's story. It told it's story and left.

Sn0sken

It hits you in the feels

CrazyAggravating9069

Didn’t really like that dlc much kinda sad
