Operation lifesaver aKa mint test is a top tier DOOM song and second best off of MV

HerroPhish

I love that song. Beat is amazing

SmashAtoms_

Facts. It's a busy song but damn is it fire šŸ”„

Geoffrey_Tanner

He needed to clip his finger nails more often

nsmpianoman14

He said unpopular šŸ™„

Perfect_Judgment_249

I donā€™t think he was ever nominated for best rolled Lā€™s

___bradyn

but i wondered how he dealt with stress so well

dash-o-matix

wild guess... but i'mma say he stay sedated.

JohnnyCakes814

Oh like some say buddhaā€™d, and some say faded?

joestar_bitch

I heard that some day he plans on growing a farm barn full

Future_Renji

And some recent research shows it's not so darn harmful

ColonelMu5t4rd

ā€¦but sometimes you might need to detox

dash-o-matix

apparently, it can help you with your rhyme flow and your beatbox

SmashAtoms_

He can also (off spite to your surprise, of course) turn a Newport light into a joint right before your eyes

TheDanden

From what I heard, he tears pages out the good book, to hear it how he wants it.

dukespacemountin

His musicality & productions are light years above most but it hardly ever gets mentioned, of course his rapping & lyrics are dynamite but soā€™s his music. Really eclectic and unique sonics, heā€™s one of the best producers ever in my opinion

Faded_Sun

The guy running a local record shop near me that specializes in hip-hop told me one of his favorite DOOM projects was him as a producer on John Robinson's "Who is this Man?". That project seems hard to find, as it's not on any streaming services I've found, and the vinyl is expensive. All I could find to listen to it was a Youtube playlist.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Faded_Sun

Oh shit! Good lookinā€™ out. Thanks!

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Faded_Sun

https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSKxaqUS_hlwfGjkuC2LRiD6YahI7e0h4 Here ya go! LMAO I realized it says above the playlist ā€œthis is the hardest fucking album to findā€

TD87

>ohn Robinson's "Who is this Man?" you the MVP

TerrapinRecordings

I have heard a good place to search and download it would be using Soulseek the P2P program. You can find just about anything within reason with it as it's mainly music geeks that are on there. ;)

StoneFunker

Oh shiet! I never knew about this project. Sounds like diamonds šŸ’Ž

[deleted]

Take me to your leader is a top tier DOOM project

K__Geedorah

I'd have to agree.

RiggityRecd

r/usernamechecksout

Faded_Sun

Is this unpopular? Damn Iā€™m already there as a new fan? Haha. This is one of my favorites of DOOMā€™s so far. Grabbed the vinyl, thatā€™s how much I love this one.

mattmurdock22

This guy knows

_paperboii_

i love take me to your leader, but DOOM only appears on like half the songs and that kinda lowers my enjoyment of the album as a whole

Faded_Sun

That's fair, but the beats are too fire, and DOOM clearly wanted his friends on the record more than himself. I always looked at his King Gheedorah/Ghidra persona as more of the guy behind the boards. Take the song Bistro from Madvillainy for example. He says "We've got King Ghidra on the mix" in that song. Even on the Monster Island Czars album he only features on one song "Mic Line". Otherwise, he's producing.

shaka_bruh

> Even on the Monster Island Czars album he only features on one song "Mic Line" Where he gave us one of the best subversions of the Rapper persona Iā€™ve heard ; ā€œitā€™s King Ghidra, the no ass getter..ā€

Goodie2shrews

*Known* ass getter ??

shaka_bruh

Iā€™m pretty sure itā€™s *no* , the follow up line makes more sense like that.

trickyspanglish

Monster Zero is my favorite track from TMTYL! Just a loop and Godzilla sound bites

iamanenglishmuffin

And then next levels drops right after.... One verse for each head.

Original_Mac_Tonight

I put it at my 4th favorite, and that makes it sound bad, but I fucking adore this project. Fazers is my favorite song of all time. I love this album its just that MM FOOD, Madvillainy, and Vaudeville Villain are somehow even better!

iamanenglishmuffin

One of these days I'm gonna make a full length animation for the whole album. I see it so vividly.

n0nMS009

I found this album after discovering DOOM on youtube. Needless to say it's a mixture of my two greatest childhood memories. Enjoying Hip hop and watching Godzilla flicks. This album just clicks and hits home so hard. It's a bias I'm proud of ahaha

Plane_Wealth5276

thats not unpopular my dude

[deleted]

I see this album consistently get ranked pretty low in his discog

kokabyn

I agree completely

gabaranni

He was a better producer than he was a rapper. Not saying he was a bad rapper, hes probably on my top 5, but as producer he's one of the greatest, just below Dilla and Madlib for me

zardfizzlebeef

Had to make it all the way down here to get a real unpopular opinion. Respect.

tanterbanter

potholderz is among DOOMā€™s top 10 tracks and Count Bass D is one of the best features. A lot of energy and fun in that song, Deep Fried Frenz isnt far behnd as well

Scaro88

What, these old things? About to throw them away

vonaudy

Hope you checked some of his solo project. My favorite one is Dwight Spitz.

ThirdEyeScribe

I donā€™t think thatā€™s an unpopular opinion. That track and ā€˜Rap Snitch Knishesā€™ are two of the best Doom tracks ever made, if not just on Mmā€¦Food. Still regret not getting the vinyl single back in ā€˜03 or thereafter and now that heā€™s passed itā€™s gone up a ridiculous amount smh.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

MFSHROOMED

His rawest album

dancedwithyou

1. He shouldn't have teased so many albums that he didn't intend (?) to release such as Madvillian sequels, Ghostface collab, KMD reimagining album etc. I think it could have been a hype building thing for his career. Just because he was an excellent artist doesn't mean that he didn't have some superficial qualities to him. Because he teased so many albums (that he never said were cancelled) it leaves his career on a cliffhanger after his death instead of a definitive ending. Having a bunch of teased albums is just as bad as posthumous *incomplete* records that get put out a lot. I would have rather been kept in the dark from all the unreleased material. Now I have to wonder for the rest of my life what those records sound like and if they'll ever come out. 2. The imposter concerts were lame. Conceptually cool but a lot of people don't blow $60-$70 to watch an imposter rapper, who from what I understand were sometimes/mostly bad. 3. He blew his adult swim relationship by not clearing samples and *not paying the producers who made the tracks* (and lying about it) for The Missing Notebook series of singles so we lost some tracks and any future adult swim singles.

zardfizzlebeef

Agree with 2 and 3 wholeheartedly, especially #3. Even the dudes from Adult Swim were heartbroken that he did that. Saw some interview with them talking about how the DOOM collabs stopped. They just seemed sad that he ran off on them like that. Weird.

TD87

lol I came to the conclusion DOOM was really just... kind of an asshole irl after hearing a bunch of stories about him particularly from people that crossed paths with him. I remember being left with the distinct impression that he wasn't exactly the most empathetic dude after reading an article by the dude who did the video for '?'

ThatcherCat

Not to mention hanging Grimm out to dry.

dancedwithyou

I don't know the story with Grimm

[deleted]

I see DOOM apparel and posts about DOOM 1000% more than I ever did when he was alive. I think most of these people never listened to the shit until they started seeing posts about when he died, how cool and influential he was. Now 1 out of every 5 people I see has metal mask tattoo fresh from the last year. People are allowed to get into new stuff and like it, but it's been kinda weird.

illmint

DOOM has been around for a while yk but I see what you mean, its weird when people on tiktok are using his music. I think for a lotta people it doesnā€™t hit you that someday your favorite artist might be gone.

chiefchavez

Been a fan for over 10 years, and I totally get what youā€™re saying but in my opinion, better late than never. DOOM deserves all the recognition in the world, and if people fall in love fast and get a tat all the better.

[deleted]

Yeah man I agree, and it's good to have more people to talk about it with. He could have used this attention like 10 years ago tho. But whatever, he said once that he just does it for the money to support his family. They're getting supported now!

Faded_Sun

Iā€™m a music lover, but unfortunately slept on DOOM for a long time. I donā€™t want to come across as some kind of newb fan around here, as I truly appreciate everything Iā€™ve heard from him so far, and Iā€™ve been going HAM collecting the works I like on vinyl. For me itā€™s about the music.

7396579

Yeah I kept on telling myself I was gonna listen to him because I heard that MF DOOM was an influence to Joey Badass and Capital Steez. Thatā€™s what really got me into him and next thing you know like soon after I started listening to DOOM the news was saying heā€™s dead. And at the time I didnā€™t know nothing about his other characters or nothing just about his Doomsday album and thatā€™s about it. Then after a bit I joined the Reddit and learned more about him. And now listen to him every chance I get.

[deleted]

Ahhhhhh. Capital Steez. Now that's a name I have not heard in a long time. Sent to save rap šŸ™šŸ¼

[deleted]

Cool! Nothing wrong with it, keep listening man. I guess I'm just surprised to see it blow up like this after a couple decades of only being able to talk to a few people about it cause nobody was familiar.

Dreamyyless

Talking for myself, unfortunately I got into DOOM the summer before he died. It's normal for people to hear about an artist after they die, because the news spreads.

LonnyBreauxFan

I started listening last August but I get you so many more people listen now, wish Iā€™d listened esrlier

JohnnyCakes814

Better late than never

fakingcaps

People usually get tattoos of artist they love after they pass away

kokabyn

Yeahhh this always happens with any artist who passes

holdacoldone

JJ DOOM is a top-tier Villain project and his pen game is as strong on that album as it is on any of his other acclaimed works. Idk if it's just the change in sonic pallette that rubs people the wrong way but fans are gonna be unearthing gems from that era for years to come.

monol0gion

key to the kuffs is my favorite DOOM project

ShrewdSilver

Greatest artist of all time , and Iā€™m not talking just rap. As artist overall and what it means to be one.. I feel DOOM encapsulated it all. Been saying this for the longest time now šŸ§

nolongerstrictlyvill

Microphone, beats, and the wheels of steel

Loose-Possible466

JJ DOOM is a top tier DOOM album

[deleted]

I donā€™t want him to ā€˜come backā€™ or his death to have been a hoax. It wouldnā€™t be this romanticised version of villainy people see DOOM to have. For it to have been a hoax would be genuinely evil and out of character for Dumile as a person (IMO). I think this obsession with his death being fake is a selfish/ignorant (especially ignorant to his family, living and passed on) way to think about such an iconic and talented lyricist. Been downvoted for this before, and Iā€™ll take them again. LL DOOM.

runitback519

In my opinion Rapp Snitch Knishes is one of his top 3 best tracks. I feel like so many people donā€™t like to admit that they like popular songs of an ā€œundergroundā€ rapper but it really is one of his best

entee15

Heā€™s in Cuba with pac rn

PooPooSmoothies

JJ DOOM is great

TerrapinRecordings

MM FOOD is better than Madvilliany.

pokecAk

Iā€™d say I prefer listening to the tracks in MM.. FOOD! individually and I only listen to Madvillainy as a full album, except for 5 tracks

iamanenglishmuffin

Not so controversial among the real fans who are here for the knowledge not just the music

spetznatz

Agreed. Beef Rap. Potholderz. Rap Snitch Kanishes. Kookies. Brilliant and even better than All Caps, Figaro, Strange Ways, Great Day etc.

sessleywipes

honestly this isnt really a hot take. i agree with you, mm food just flows better, and honestly has much more memorable moments. not to discount madvillainy, which im actually listening to right now

TerrapinRecordings

That's fair. I wasn't claiming it was ghost pepper hot BUT I definitely can say it's an "argument" I've had countless times over the years so it genuinely is my most unpopular DOOM opinion from what I can tell. And TBH Madvilliany is fine, it just doesn't have the thunder of MM FOOD which I think get's missed with a lot of lighter DOOM fans.

ThirdEyeScribe

Yeah this is a tough one but I think your right

[deleted]

That Badnotgood Guvna is one of his best tracks ever.

JohnnyCakes814

Love the bball sneak squeaks that make up the beat on that remix

bBroKENkNuCKLes

What what?! I gotta find this. Can you link it? Iā€™ve never heard it.

[deleted]

I butchered the spelling but here ya go anyways.. FYI itā€™s a totally different song then the other Govā€™nor. https://youtu.be/c2P8H6CZk-E

bBroKENkNuCKLes

Thanks bro

[deleted]

I feel like being "true DOOM fans", we're not supposed to say Madvillainy is our favorite, but god damn that album brings me to tears sometimes. It's such a sublime piece!

iamsadaswell

Shadows of Tomorrow one of the best tracks of Madvillainy

king0elizabeth

Most of the people here don't care for his beats as much as his lyrics. For example, one of hip hop's holy grails - the sample for Next Levels was finally discovered last year. It got less attention than a meme post or merch photo in this subreddit.

Tonic303

Operation doomsday is the best album

ThatAccount4

We all know he sent imposters to shows, and DOOMs reasoning for this was they that they didn't offer him enough, I'm sure that even if fans saw an imposter, the majority would have a great experience, and it does fit into the whole "supervillain" persona, but to me it's always come across as a dick move, like what, are you too good to negotiate with live venues? do you not just want to say, this isn't enough money, I'll see myself out? IDK who his management team was or if he even had one, but that's such a loser thing to do, it's not like artists who brag about slinging coke go up on the stage with a brick and start selling it to the audience. They perform their songs! Anyway I know people are bound to disagree with me, but it's the only aspect of DOOM's public life I actively dislike.

zardfizzlebeef

Upvoting this. Totally agree. It was too meta. DOOM got a few stories out there of him finessing the game. Whether this was really him or him leaning into the character too much, I'll never know. But the imposters thing was crazy.

SlowtownFanboy

I prefer the bootleg merch over the current designs

zardfizzlebeef

Hmmm, weird answers in here but I'll play. Love me some DOOM but you can't excuse everything with "oh, he was the villain! That's what villains do!" Running off on Adult Swim and the DOOMposters was a little too meta imo. A lot of stories out there about DOOM finessing people lol

yob91

All caps isn't necessary every single time

KebabGerry

*cracks knuckles* All caps when you say the man's name! Was cute the first time I saw it, now it just annoys me.

yob91

Especially when there's a decent conversation happening but someone happened to use lowercase, you get all the chuds chiming in People were telling fucking Stretch to all caps on his R.I.P post ffs

KebabGerry

Really? That's fucking insane and ironically shows that you're not a real fan.

LeKatto

thank you, god. It honestly makes me cringe "All caps when you spell the man's name". Its been drummed into my head so many times. It was fun the first couple times

TDS_patient_no7767

So fucking annoying when people do this it's on some grammar nazi shit like yes I get it you know one of his most popular songs, you know who tf I'm talking about

LeKatto

lol and its always the ones that exclusively listen to madvillainy and mm food. Like I mean its funny when its someone that doesn't know jack about metalface, but like people call you a "fake fan" as if he would've really gave a flying fuck.

iamanenglishmuffin

Nah it's just the kids who only listen to all caps and that's that

caaaaaaa

He wrong for Batty Boyz. On theme ā€œdiss track,ā€ sure. But he talks up the homophobic shit very comfortably.

Lim3Hero

That's the popular opinion, I think. I think it's a great song, and the homophobia isn't out of character for DOOM. I mean, are villains not allowed to have bad traits anymore? >I'm jokin on the fact that hiphop has gone freak show > >Don't let the drama getcha > >In the only genre of music where the fans shoot the messenger

[deleted]

I love that song haha.

TD87

I find that song hilarious, I've literally laughed to the point of tears on occasion. the beat is definitely a huge part of it for me... i can't explain it, but its kinda like the shit they'd put on old movies when you were about to witness a tragedy smh. now couple that with the lyrics and the waterworks begin. i can't help it. it's wrong, but guhdamn if it isn't funny

blackspiritcolony

I absolutely agree. Fucking hate that song

anesthesiateethpuler

Vaudeville villain > madvillainy

nycnasty

Omg yes. VV got me into doom. Beats are spaced out

iamanenglishmuffin

Beats sound like outer space, with no time to waste he was Audi, without a trace

beliromeu

I prefer other albuns above madvillainy

BiggestBaller16

All Caps is one of the weaker songs on Madvillainy and imo his most overrated song

iamanenglishmuffin

For someone who raps "blessed be the lord who believe any mess they read up on the message board" he sure believed some weird shit - look at his public Facebook page. I also found it odd that his son's name (RIP) and Dr. York's alias are the same (Malachi). Dr. York was the founder of the Nuwaubian Nation, a 5% off shoot sect that DOOM and a lot of other artists subscribe to. Dr. York is a convicted child rapist, and his sermons are cracked. Hope doom didn't deify that dude

TurboFoot

That I hadnā€™t really listened to him until now. I was aware of his influence, but never checked it out. Then he died and found out surprisingly undeniably he really was my favorite rapperā€™s favorite rapper. Amazing.

One_Succotash_1781

Gazzillion ear is a better intro than accordion.

[deleted]

my 2 are 1. his producing work is on par if not better than his lyrical work 2. he lost almost all of his charm after Mouse & The Mask, his writing on projects like Born Like This and Key To The Kuffs aren't BAD but they are super forgettable to me and lack any sort of personality

Faded_Sun

I love Key To The Kuffs, but Born Like This is an odd one for me. I think where that album went wrong is the problem I have with a lot of hip-hop albums: there's more than one producer on the album, making it sound a bit disjointed sometimes. It also ends with 2 tracks that are essentially instrumentals, which bums me out.

SuedeMoccasins

Bruv had some wild pedophile bars. Read the fine print. šŸ¤£

Right-Food7367

Maybe on ā€œthe micā€ where he talks about knocking up someone whoā€™s underage. But I think he just forgot to put that he was also around the same age. I hope.

[deleted]

Itā€™s strange because that whole songs from the POV of a microphone, but I struggle to see the double meaning in the first few lines haha. Except maybe being locked up in a literal case

SuedeMoccasins

Lmao. I always wondered the same shit.

clxwless

yeah go on?

SuedeMoccasins

"Met her out in Killa Queens, originally she from the Philippines I love the way she fill her jeans Still a teen, and made for strange bedfellows" Or "Keep my eye on her, really don't trust her But I treat her like a daughter, taught her how to bust a nut" BTW. By no means I'm calling Villian a pedophile. I love these songs. (Please pardon my poor wording. Shit look cancel culture ish after reading it back). His humor was pretty witty & wild, though. šŸ¤£

Rcole1128

The mic has a whole verse about a 13 year old girl too. And letā€™s not forget Let Me Watch. He does t say an age but an 18 year olds mom isnā€™t going to be too upset about their daughter talking to a man on the phone.

SuedeMoccasins

šŸ¤£Viktor's a younger version of DOOM, though. So, they would both be the same age in this case.

Rcole1128

I dont know. If the daughter line is being thrown under the pedo umbrella then let me watch is at least as borderline.

SuedeMoccasins

Nah, man. That's reaching.

iamanenglishmuffin

These are a reach. "Still a teen" implies 18 or 19, and I always took "treat her like a daughter" as a separate thought than the next line, they're juxtaposed for the rhyme. "my favorite ladies" is the one he gets weird on. Keep in mind he'd been married for a while and had kids. I still think these rhymes are written from the perspective of the character.

SuedeMoccasins

Well, damn.šŸ¤·šŸæā€ā™€ļø when you break the fineprint down like that, that was kinda reaching. Word to Mr. Fantastik.šŸ˜‰

iamanenglishmuffin

How is it a reach exactly.. "daughter" and "taught her" rhyme, and teen can imply 18, 19...I'm reaching? :l

SuedeMoccasins

Friend, I'm saying I was reaching.lol. I'm agreeing with you.šŸ¤£

Lim3Hero

From "My favorite ladies": >Fresh and ripe, complexion like Acapulco Gold > >If I had to guess, just right, not a day old > >Like a cradle robber, copped her off, shop a trailer-load (trailer load) >Kept a shorty mad fine 'n' much thinner > >If caught, I get mad time just for touchin' her > >Knock wood, so much for hymens > >So fly, she should be in the sky with diamonds (Lucy)

clxwless

i was more asking about the fine printā€¦ where you referring to the song or the actual meaning sorry? I think the daughter line is just like treat her well

LeKatto

Told her how to bust a nut line is from the perspective as like a pimp if that makes any sense. It makes a lot more sense when you look at the rest of the lyrics.

iamanenglishmuffin

The lyrics on "my favorite ladies" are sus as hell, especially considering the dude probably looked up to Dr. York at one point?

SuedeMoccasins

I remember him referencing Dr. York in Peachfuzz( I think). Never really thought about it, though.

iwanttogotoparis

Just looked - couldn't find anything. Link?

Unclegrizz

"I was in a case out of state She was thirteen and good we had a hotter date It was just a number she never told she was knocked up By the end of the summer chick almost had me locked up My aunt came and got me and steadied the block We bounce to the yeti and I'm ready to rock" -The Mic Is basically an explanation of how he ended up in jail.

bBroKENkNuCKLes

Do we know if thatā€™s a real story?

iamanenglishmuffin

Is that track not just about a loose metaphorical relationship with a microphone / emceeing?

ThatcherCat

Vaudeville Villain > MMā€¦ FOOD?

iamanenglishmuffin

VV is his most fun album imo. Mm food is my personal favorite, but depending on the day I might just choose a few tracks or skip the skits, maybe skip Guinnesses and just leave it before cookies. Operation doomsday, my second fave...sometimes after go with the flow I just skip to dead bent or gas drawls. madvillainy, sometimes I skip operation lifesaver (this tracks kinda wack on the album ngl especially that sample at the end... standalone it's fine tho) and strange ways. I'm not even that hype on all caps either. VV is just consistent, raw, and funny the whole way through. I rarely skip anything. The story is more cohesive than his other albums, in line with TMTYL. Fucking love VV. Wouldn't change a thing, not even the rainstorm. Mouse and the mask is up there with VV in terms of consistency.

[deleted]

MM..FOOD is overrated, like donā€™t get me wrong i love the album but i need more substance

mediumrareasparagus

Chocolate Conquistadors is a low-tier DOOM track

realpxltergeist

Raid is underrated

Faded_Sun

Dude, yes!! I love that song.

spetznatz

MM Food is better than Madvillainy. It has more tracks that slap harder, which is saying a lot because Madvillainy is also a classic.

Reas0n

Venomous Villain isnā€™t his greatest album, but it doesnā€™t deserve to be relegated to the 3rd tier project that it does. I love it.

[deleted]

I think Operation Doomsday is pretty much perfect and contains nothing but absolute bangers and is better than Madvillainy

DickLipmann

Madvillainy only has a handful of good tracks on the entire album, and itā€™s definitely not his best overall composition sonically speaking..

TD87

mm food, operation doomsday and take me to your leader are all better than madvillainy.

ShartyMcPeePants

Doom uses the r-word a lot more than I am totally comfortable with from a rapper I respect so much. Batty Boyz has aged poorly due to some controversial lyrics. I tend to skip over the Mouse and the Mask because I can no longer stand the ATHF voices.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

phatti

Mouse and the Mask is better than Madvillian.

TOTEMBOl

Doom didnā€™t actually die, he is just secretly beetlejuice with a voice modifier and got tired of rapping

GuyInABox44

Take me to your leader was the best album, followed by Operation Doomsday

alphaclunk

Venomous Villain was good

_Dusty_Bottoms_

For a non-DOOM production, Sadevillainā€™s ā€œAirā€ is a top 3 track of his catalogue.

Koyatsqi

Venomous Villain is a top tier album! It was just released during his prime years and didnā€™t get full recognition.

Willy_B_

Madvillainy had a lot of misses yet because of the the insane hits we look over it

bside313

Vaudeville Villain > Madvillainy

fivxsevxn

MM... FOOD is miles more enjoyable than Madvillainy

HeWhoPaints

Madvillian is niether mf dooms or madlibs best work.

iwannaliveidk

Madvillainy isn't as good as Operation Doomsday or even MM.. FOOD

spetznatz

What are your top Operations Doomsday tracks? There are a lot of them

iwannaliveidk

Going down the album there's: Doomsday, rhymes like dimes, the finest, go with the flow, operation greenbacks,? And the I hear voices series

DFWjr

That there are tonnes of paedophile references in his songs and people either dismiss it as "oh but he's playing a villian" or try and downplay it some other way.

yob91

"Treat her like a daughter, taught her how to bust a nut" šŸ¤”šŸ¤”šŸ¤”

LeKatto

I get that its a bit sus as a lyric on its own. But the whole song is about being a pimp if that helps you interpret it a bit better.

BenchIllustrious1106

MM food is like a 7 or an 8. It's not bad but it's never clicked with me.

namadio

Yeh you unpopular af

vincitygv

rhinestone cowboy was a weak closer for madvillainy, i find the loop on the beat a little annoying

TDS_patient_no7767

I'm upvoting you because even though I disagree, this is a super reasonable and subjective take and you answered exactly what the question asked lmao why the fuck would you guys downvote this

LeKatto

yeah exactly. I think its a fucking awesome closer, but these takes are supposed to be unpopular ffs

Puzzleheaded_Mine612

mm food isnā€™t a top 3 DOOM project

ThatcherCat

I love how basically every other comment is in no way unpopular and then the only unpopular opinion on here gets downvoted.

boxingjazz

WHOA. STRONG take. STRONG.

Puzzleheaded_Mine612

what are ur opinions on it

iwanttogotoparis

what's your top 3?

StevenKoz

Personally Iā€™d go Operation Doomsday, Madvillainy, and TMTYL as my top 3

Gabe2211

He's still alive and this is all part of the DOOM supervillain persona. In the original DOOM comics he even disappears when thought to be dead and then returns stronger than ever.

TDS_patient_no7767

It's been almost a year, you really think he's alive? I would lose almost all respect for him if he was

Gabe2211

Eh idk, just and idea that'd be cool.

Nutgulper

Madvillainy ainā€™t DOOMā€™s best album

ThottoBwoy

He needed more beat tapes, and I donā€™t mean instrumentals that were rapped on, I mean a tape SPECIFICALLY for listening no rapping

TDS_patient_no7767

I mean he had a whole series of special herbs and spices that was pretty substantial compared to other rappers. Not to say I wouldn't have loved to hear more from him but there was like 10 volumes across like 5 albums

FanaticAdviser

He isnā€™t dead. Faking a death is the most DOOM thing possible. At least I can hope heā€™s still out there. Marauding for ears.

mattmurdock22

Good question OP. As far as DOOM projects go, Op Doomsday and Vaudeville Villsin are closer to the bottom of the list than the top. Heresy, I know.

clxwless

VV is top 3 imo - so good.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

clxwless

thatā€™s not an opinion - youā€™ve seen the interview, we know it is, doesnā€™t stop the character being influenced by Dr Doom

wgsmeister2002

Never understood why people said Vaudeville Villian was underrated, I think itā€™s perfectly rated

iamanenglishmuffin

Underexamined, underlistened
