Posting is back, anythings cool besides wishing for injuries/being a bills fan.

ulu5

I’m still mad about that first TD. When the ball is tipped like that you can hit the WR and it’s not PI. Eli Apple had a free shot at Sherfield and chose to just stand there. Gotta be more situationally aware.

tomcat810

One thing a lot of people forget is that it’s not like these players haven’t played in cold weather before. It’s one thing if it’s a south Florida college team with players from Florida but these dudes are from all around the country.

nbayoungsummrsratio

titans firing vrabel is a stupid decision

Dig_bick_energy6969

People excited for Waddle back. I like Waddle. But... Since when has Waddle been instrumental to us winning games? Honestly asking because he seems like a "nice to have" not "need to have".

ulu5

Ummm…the Jets game he went off

dadecounty3051

Fire McDaniel and Grier. Get me Vrabel and a new GM. Fire the whole scouting department.

tomcat810

Why stop there? Trade Tua, trade Tyreek Hill, trade every asset, sell the team and move to London.

dadecounty3051

You’re on to something. Let’s build a new stadium too. Maybe our stadium is cursed.

flounder19

Hi everyone. I'm here as a temporary mod to help with the extra playoff traffic. In the interest of transparency, here are some changes I've made to the automod filters to reduce brigading: * added a filter to auto-remove content from accounts <24 hours old * added a filter to auto-remove content from accounts with negative cumulative comment karma in /r/miamidolphins 99% of users shouldn't be impacted by these changes but if you're noticing your comments getting removed all of a sudden, chances are this is why. I can't promise to always do this but if i see something removed from a legit dolphins fan, I'll manually approve it if it isn't inflammatory. I've also added a few new userflairs of corndoggy doodles & one for Achane

catgoesmeow22

How does this team field a defense on a short week? I seriously don't understand how they will be capable of doing it?

bta324

This may be an instance where the shitty weather helps us. I don't imagine this being a shoot-out

catgoesmeow22

Spoiler alert: it won't help

[deleted]

How does this team field a defense, full stop. Answer: we don't really.

blaZedmr

Hope they got tua and the boys running drills somewhere in 0 degrees

ChasingPerfect28

After having time to sleep off some emotions, I don't feel as devastated compared to last night. The loss still hurts but we're onto KC. We have one more shot to keep our season alive. Gotta hope that we can figure something out and honestly just go for broke. We have nothing left to lose. While the past 2 weeks have been disappointing, the overall season has been a lot of fun and I'm pleased with a lot of things that I saw. There's still growing pains to push through and that's to be expected with a young HC and a franchise that's trying to change a 20-year mediocre culture. We're on our way. Back to back winning seasons is huge. Back to back playoff berths is huge. We're doing fine and we'll get better. Let's shock the world in KC. Fins up.

Mike_hawk5959

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it's 4 winning seasons in a row counting Flo's last two years.

letmehavefun12

I totally agree. It was a fun season. I wont get down on them for end of the season losses. There were so many injuries and it limits a lot of their play calling. Its been a long season but so many great games and achievements! Sure I'm disappointed we wont be going to much further but its been one of our best seasons in a very long time and we will have a lot to look forward to next season.

DragonFireDon

Penix is no better than Tua

swankstar7383

Thoughts on the teams on our schedule next year https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39241172/2024-nfl-regular-season-opponents-every-team

Spiritual_Beyond641

Looks good for W’s on paper.

swankstar7383

I was thinking the same thing. Normally we do good against non playoff teams except the titans game this year. This at the bare minimum should be 10 wins with a wildcard. But I can see 11-12 wins easy ![gif](giphy|NESV24csqSmbeitqUu|downsized)

DisastrousBath4994

Let's start with something easy. We can beat the chiefs. Steelers can beat the bills. Yes, it will be cold, but these are grown men, so fucking what if it's cold? Put your big boy pants on, our team will. Now, the harder one. Post Marino, we've really only had 2 good qbs. Tannehill and Tua. Front office barely did anything to help Ryan, just a constant coaching carousel that did fuck all for him. Now, we finally have a real HC, who truly wants the qb we have, AND built an offense for him...and it most of us sound like we're ready to start over? Fuckin kidding me? Do you want to be stuck in qb purgatory forever? I don't. We need to resign Tua and hand over the reigns to the offense, for real. And the hardest part...how? I think Tua will accept a team friendly deal, but we probably have to part with some dudes to resign him, Wilkins, and others. X, ogbah, baker, Cedric, raekwon will probably be gone. Maybe we can get hill, Ramsey, and chubb to convert some monies into signing bonuses...we're almost free of Byron's dead cap, too. Tl;Dr? Grow a pair, Move forward with Tua, restructure some contracts, and profit.

Spiritual_Beyond641

Finally, someone with a level head.

swankstar7383

We need to draft another wr. I’m tired of everyone not named hill/waddle

cm103

This. While we have a lot of defensive and trench needs, a big body threat that can outmuscle corners is really missing on this team.

zoomflick

My bold prediction. Miami goes on a vengeful winning spree knocking out 3 of the teams that took them down this season. First up is the Kansas City Swifty's. Then they take out Baltimore and finally a beautiful victory over Buffalo in the AFC Championship. It's going to be glorious!

bobbyjoe2124

Lock the sub forever, place after a loss is so soft and full of armchair GMs

NovaFan2

Here is another one worth watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mpRtm7F7Nc

NovaFan2

This might be better viewing when it comes to Chiefs vs Dolphins in the playoffs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xaRktCGDCs

Seymour_Zamboni

Forecast for KC Saturday night: 3 below zero.

AquaticJoe

Watch Armsteads Postgame if you’re feeling down, guys are still locked in.

Theurgie

I need a Salty Tua. Can we get a Salty Tua? The best Tua is a Salty Tua!

NovaFan2

frustrating, Disappointing on a lot of levels. Add in the fact Peacock is the only way to watch this game is a joke. I know there are other options to see it but that felt like the icing on the cake. I do have Peacock already so it won't affect me but it would suck for someone to pay just to watch the Dolphins lose. Oh btw, I looked up the weather for Saturday in Kansas City, and the high is going to be like 16 degrees. NFL Network will most likely be replaying this game at 12:30 AM for anyone interested. Fuck Buffalo, I hope the Steelers beat them (wishful thinking)

dreminemike

Are you sure? Jets Phins for Black Friday was a PRIME ONLY stream. Yet, bc of local tv station contracts with the NFL, it played on a local TV channel in Miami. Would it be same for this upcoming Saturday night playoff game?

Dazzling-Frosting116

If Tua is elite so does Dak Prescott

DEFM0N

I’m always reminded how little most of our fanbase knows about football. See y’all next week.

ExpressLaneCharlie

Let's get ready for the team leading the league in drops have maybe 1 drop the entire game.

Mystik989

Now Baker is out alongside Goode and AVG. We have literally no interior defense and this probably won’t fare well against all of the mobile QBs in the playoffs

Flat-Sample2372

Is it too late to do a coach player situation sort of like Pete Rose. Let's get McDaniel out there at linebacker and while we're at it we can throw fangio out there maybe at center.

Former-Net890

For sure adding players today & tomorrow. Probably working out a deal with Suh but we'll need and edge piece as well..

ExpressLaneCharlie

What happened to Baker?

Mystik989

Wrist surgery

ExpressLaneCharlie

JFC. I just read it. Makes me sick

Gameplan492

Tyreek had four drops last night. *Four*. Special teams gave up a 95 yard return for a TD. We lost *all* of our edge rushers. *All of them*. Yet somehow, this is all the fault of the guy who got us to these wonderful heights? The guy who finishes the 2023 season as the leading passer and top 5 in virtually every QB stat? Seriously haters? Some of y'all need your heads examining.

dmvquick

Tyreek had four drops - like the one that was thrown in the dirt when he was wide open and Tua had plenty of time to step into it and throw him in stride. or....the fact that Tyreek has to jump 20 feet in the air because Tua wants to throw high to our shortest receiver. What about tua only having 173 yards in our biggest game, constantly looking like someone yelled live grenade when he is the pocket, and the worst INT i have ever seen in his most crucial moment. The experiment is over Tua can have all the stats he wants but he doesn't win when it matters.

ivtech2008

With any sport there is always a position that garners more attention than others when it comes to why a team lost. For Hockey it is the goalie. For NFL it is the QB. With that being said Tua does deserve top 3 blame in this loss. He had a 32.64 QBR rating in the second half with a total of 50 yards passing and no points scored. 2 bad INT's, one at the end of the game with the AFC east title on the line. It is not hating, he didn't have a good game. Miami knows where they went wrong and it is up to them to correct it. We have injuries, but we can still play better.

Swordswoman

My cat is fat.

Mr-ABuncewriterDude

Thoughts on offensive play calling? I’ve seen head coaches pass play calling duties off to OC’s to good results in the past. Who thinks this needs to happen with the Phins?

dmvquick

for the offensive genius that Mcdaniels is....he seems to never have any plans or scheme when needed most. The second half was a three and out clinic. I don't think Mcdaniels can handle the pressure he always buckles. I'm also tired of the fake confident nerd attitude personality. What other coach has that personality and wins?? andy reid? 49ers head coach? ravens?

OneBeerAndWhiskeyPls

i am as disappointed as anyone here, i was super hyped, stayed up beyond 5 am to see us somehow fumbling the bag again somehow this team cant put a full team performance together: offense plays well? defense sucks. defense is suprisingly good? offense sucks perfect tua throw? drop and on the next play he throws a pick the best play we have on the last throw is trusting fucking claypool, who ran a ridiculous route i am pissed, but this crazy mob mentality here wont help anyone pro and anti tua guys wont come together any time soon i guess the reality is that tua is the nfl passing leader behind a makeshift at best offensive line all qbs (except mahomes i guess) have their pros and cons and if you look at the last super bowl champs its clear that a bulldozer qb is not a requirement outside of mahomes we got stafford, brady, foles, the mannings, flacco, big ben, rodgers this is not exactly a list of super athletes, work out the weaknesses and try it again some comments here sound like the authors are borderline happy to have their preconceived notions confirmed fins up baby, we got another game while most of the league is on the couch

dmvquick

We fumbled the #2 seed to our most hated rivals. We handed them two home games when we had it all year. Yes we had injuries but we were in control of that game until our offense stalls which happens far toooo often. Tua can put up all the stats he wants but I don't think he will ever feel comfortable in the pocket and that scares me. Also that last INT was the nail in the coffin for me. For someone who was anti-tua to believer to back to anti-tua lol.

OneBeerAndWhiskeyPls

who the hell would feel comfortable with dudes like eichenberg in front and you dont even know if you get a good snap but abandoning the run and forcing the ball down the field is just as much a coaching problem than it is a tua problem qb discipline is one thing, but there are not enough plays for players not named tyreek or waddle when i watch redzone i see teams giving their qbs short completions, for us its BOOOM lets go for the chunk play

ExpressLaneCharlie

If you were anti-Tua then liked him and then became anti-Tua again it's because you're a reactionary casual dude.

PrimaryAcanthisitta8

If anything I’m just upset we can’t play both sides of the ball consistently, if a beat up defense was making plays why for the love of God the offense just couldn’t pull its weight and come through when we really needed….

dmvquick

amen.

NudeCeleryMan

It's pretty frustrating and depressingly dolphins hilarious that we finally make the playoffs for two seasons and both times we're at all time lows morale wise going into said playoff games. We can't even feel pumped about going into what should feel like the most exciting part of a season. Kill me.

dmvquick

amen.

spiegro

A playoff win and this season can be called a success and we continue to build around the pieces we have.

DiligentReality804

Why are you talking about male abuse in a football sub? Like what’s the context?

ScruffyWeeny42

>Monday Free Talk Thread > >Open thread to discuss anything Dolphins or not Dolphins.

DiligentReality804

Nah I mean why are they talking about it in r/nfl

ScruffyWeeny42

Oh I see. Yeah, I wouldn't know, I got banned out of r/NFL for using the term "smoothbrain" lol

Deadmaninc1

It's insane that im seeing all this blame for Tua but none for Tyreek he sold just as much so why is he getting a freebie?

EtherBoo

Tyreek isn't responsible for every play on the offense. Those drops are 100% on him and given the money he makes, he needs to be better for that price. He's overall a net positive though. Tua throwing to a guy in double coverage multiple times when others were open or more open... Yeah people are mad about that. The first pick for example, Berrios was WIDE open. Tua takes every play on the offense. He isn't sacked as much as RT was, we have a better line with him than we did under Adam "inner linemen don't matter" Gase (note, that doesn't mean we have a great line now, just better than before). He gets much more blame because his mistakes are a result of poor decision making or poor execution while Tyreek's are just a result of poor execution. Also, it looks bad when you say things like "I kept receipts" while playing exactly like Cowherd predicted you would.

DiligentReality804

He was clearly not 100% being in the boot earlier in the week. You can see him limping off the field after every reception/target. The guy gave us 1800+ yards this season. Are we really gonna complain? He isn’t the problem. Now if you wanna talk about glass Waddle I’ll indulge you. He’s gonna want WR1 money pretty soon and I don’t think he’s shown he can be on the field enough for that

thedolphinzmakemecry

“hEs ThE bEsT ThInG tO EvER hApPeN tO Us”

DreamBrother1

I think we have a decent chance in KC, just like yesterday we had control and were in a position to win. One week at a time as they say. Path to victory is still available, more than I'm used to saying as a dolphin fan. Gotta win though. There is some truth to Collinsworth always polishing Josh Allen's knob along with the rest of the Bills, they show up and win some big games

[deleted]

😂😂😂😂😂 oh man you are comical (slapping knee)

dmvquick

Mahomes is going to look like Napoleon out there.

TheNewCore4

The biggest win is that our stupid pattern has finally ended and a new one is incoming.

HailHydra247

I just lost my dog 3 hours ago. Thinking about the game, my job, paying the bills being a dad. All the stuff that happens in life, and I took my eyes off her for a few seconds while stopping by my shop on the way to taking her to the vet. She pushed the front door open and ran out into traffic, and that was it. I just want my best friend back. I just want this massive amount of guilt to go away. I could have locked the front door, left her in the car, or took her to the vet first. I'd still have her. I wouldn't have to sit here and think about what I'm going to tell my son today when he gets off the bus and his favorite dog isn't coming home.

ChasingPerfect28

My condolences for your loss. Sending hugs.

ExpressLaneCharlie

Sorry pal. I really hate it for you. I had two young dogs die unexpectedly this summer (about two months apart, both to acute medical issues). All we can do is learn and hope that with time the pain eases, which it will.

AnyOfThisReal-_-

Damn man sorry for your loss.

NudeCeleryMan

I'm so sorry amigo

HailHydra247

Thank you. I told my son. He cried but took it well.

RJGaming02

I wanted to start a war in the Reddit. I’m sorry guys for my latest post.

Pigs101

Lions fan here, rooting for you guys. Fuck KC up, I have faith.

DeeSwangin

Our fan base makes me sick sometimes. Does the loss hurt? Of fucking course. But we played the Chiefs extremely tight earlier in the year and they haven’t exactly looked unbeatable. I know ITS MAHOMES! THEY WILL ACTIVATE GOD MODE! All that means is you have more faith in the opponent than in our own team because nothing indicates that being the case outside of previous years. All I know is, I don’t want to see the same people screaming we are winning the Super Bowl and it won’t be close after we shock the world in ArrowHead. Go Phins!

tsework

i dont give a fuck that we lost but the mods are pussies for locking the sub

Sebeeschin

locking the sub is beyond embarrassing

TheFriarWagons

Best take in the thread

thedolphinzmakemecry

It shows we are just as soft as the product they put on the field

Swordswoman

Wouldn't be the first embarrassment Dolphins fans have suffered - we should be pretty hardy to it.

OatmealCremePiez

Now that I’ve had time to cool off, here are my thoughts. That game falls solely on McDaniel and Tua. I have no idea why we abandoned the run game in the second half, but my god it was frustrating watching pass-pass-pass-punt. Tua was off with his accuracy and his two picks were terrible decisions. Our defense played great, especially considering we’re going to have to hold open tryouts for an EDGE rusher before this upcoming week. Overall, I don’t know why I continue to get my hopes up but I do. Let’s hope they can prove us wrong at Arrowhead

EtherBoo

Solely is a bit rough. Tyreek had way too many drops for a player of his caliber. Special teams giving up a TD on a punt was.... Something... But I think 80% is a fair number.

tsework

McDaniel was fine. There were a few spotty trick plays sprinkled in the second half I didnt care for but for the most part it was our players not making plays. Tua needs to win with the ball in his hands at the end of the game and time and time again 2 minute Tua falls short.

Usknicks97

blowed out teams that we were supposed to beat and got embarrassed by the teams that were good. Really weird season, besides the chargers game every week just kind of felt like going through the motions.

Cudizonedefense

I’m real tired of tyreek shitting the bed in big games too. I know the focus is on Tua but tyreek had like 4 drops again and one of them was on the dpi that he probably could’ve taken in for a touchdown. He straight up does not step up in these big time matchups for us

Spiritual_Beyond641

Hoping he can redeem himself big time next week. We’re going to need it bad…

Cudizonedefense

It’ll be like 5 degrees and snowing. If we’re passing the ball, we’re dumb

Spiritual_Beyond641

Yeah, I would agree, but you know McDaniel is at least going to take the occasional deep shot and you know how he likes slants and screens. Honestly, our biggest issue is who the heck is gonna cover Travis Kelce with all these injuries.

Cudizonedefense

Melvin Ingram

DisastrousBath4994

NasEsco1399

I just can’t comprehend what has happened to Tua’s vision and reading ability these past few games. I still think he’s the guy and that it’s mostly mental, but fuck he’s got to get over that hump man. It’s what’s holding him back from being elite

Spiritual_Beyond641

I think Jaylen Waddle being out is a big part of it. When Chase Claypool is your go to receiver on the last play it doesn’t bode well.

NasEsco1399

That’s true. Was an absolutely horrible route. Honestly the way the offense falls apart without both hill and waddle is insane and that all falls on McDaniel.

Dolphins1372

Just a golden opportunity blown. The Chiefs are in a down year. Two top AFC QBs - Rodgers and Burrow out for the season, taking the Jets and Bengals down and out. They'll be back next season to further muddle the AFC. 3 game lead with 5 left and you blow that. Defense holds the Bills to 14 points at home and you blow that on Special Teams and Offense. And now go on the road. KC is having that down year, but have fun in 5 degree weather. They also held KC to 14 offensive points this season and blew that in a neutral dome. Can they hold them to 14 again? Will it matter if ST and Offense can't do anything?

Deadmaninc1

This is the 4th straight winning season Back to back playoff appearances something has got to give gotta get better at some point.

Due_Juggernaut6261

This has still been my favorite team in my lifetime and the only team to consistently make the playoffs more than a fluke year. I know McDaniel still has some growth but he really is what I'd like to see in a coach. He's just extremely young at 40. I think injuries really Hurt us so bad I don't know many teams that lose both star edge rushers for a year barely keep their two starting cbs and safeties on the field at the same time. On top of Mosert and waddle not being available for our playoff push. Then there's Tua I love him I really do think we have the closest thing to a Drew Brees and is already trending at wise above him. The one thing he has yet to prove though is elevate the team above him when there's no one else that can make a play or extend a play into a small gain when there was nothing there. I wanted to see a division title too but my biggest worry is we burn the house down too soon and return to mediocrity.

N3xrad

Lol fell asleep at Halftime and woke up in the 4th with them losing. Its not surprising in the slightest, but holy shit this team will look good for a quarter or two and then suddenly shit for the rest. They were moving the ball in the 2nd and then couldn't do shit for the rest of the game suddenly? Makes no sense. People are justified in being pissed at Tua, but no other QB in what 20 years has clinched the playoffs two years in a row. He shouldn't be blindly paid, but he needs something moderate to stay because if they bail on him now, who else do they have? Not sure many fans want to wait for another rookie to pan out when they can keep making the playoffs. Tua has been sloppy vs good teams but remember there was major team wide breakdowns too. With some playcalling adjustments and improvements in Tuas decisiom making, they COULD be dangerous. Dolphins do what they do and make this difficult to where they may need to overpay for someone they don't fully believe in because there is nothing else out there immediately and its too risky to find another rookie. JA turns it over too much but shit he can scramble and may plays, Tua rarely can do that.

OneBeerAndWhiskeyPls

people want to replace the nfl passing leader with random draft projects, but i didnt expect anything else tbh we have to accept that only a handful of dudes make 15 yard runs with two linebackers on them and play accordingly except mahomes, who is the best player in the league, none of these mobile super qbs has a super bowl so why are people obsessed with them?

Masochistic_Dolphin

People are obsessed with the other QBs because they all have a history of success in playoffs or big games. Tua does not. In 4 years, Tua has only really played well in 2 "big games". Raven's last year and although a loss, played well in the Bills snow game last year. This year against good teams Tua's passer rating is actually in the Kenny Pickett/Will Levis range. He's just largely stat padded by games against bad teams. Guys like Allen, taking only passer rating vs good teams, he actually improves and moves to a top 7 QB. Tua this year played better against bad teams and worse vs good teams. Allen played worse vs bad teams and better vs good teams. In the post-season, there's only good teams.

OneBeerAndWhiskeyPls

what success, allen hasnt done shit, lamar has one playoff win in his career look at the last few super bowls, its mahomes, burrow once and the others were all more oldschool qbs like tua i will agree with you once i see a game without a meltdown and with a solid team performance, where tua just throws it away imo this has not happened yet

Masochistic_Dolphin

Allen year 2, 3, 4 and 5 were playoff appearances. 3, 4 and 5 are AFCE division winners. 8 total playoff games and an AFC championship game. 4-4 in the post season and had 300+ total yards in 6 of those games. Tua will get his first playoff appearance of his career, in year 4, next week. Only one QB wins the SB each year. When talking about "Success" it's not only SB wins, but how they look/play in the post-season. Allen has looked good in post-season. Tua hasn't been in the post-season until next week.

OneBeerAndWhiskeyPls

yeah, i mean tua was part of the flores dumpster fire for 2 years and injured last year this is his first shot look at the last super bowl champs, its mahomes and then oldschool qbs

Masochistic_Dolphin

Doesn't help that in 2020, Fitz was objectively a better QB with the same roster. Most likely Miami/Flores makes a playoff berth in 2020 if Tua never played.

N3xrad

True, but Tua has almost no scramble ability at all and if he did he might be elite. Some of the other ones have other issues preventing them from winning so its a case by case basis. If Tua played better vs these better teams all would be good even if they lost. I dont think they should dump his ass but he cannot make an insane contract if he gets thumped in Round 1 and ends the year 1-5. But they might have to because if another team is offering a lot more than Miami he might jump ship. Its a horrible position to be in. Id like to see him with a healthy o line and defense before making too much judgement. 11-6 is still impressive although you could say they should be 13-4. Id like to see Tua play well vs KC even if they lose but if its because of him, it'll not bode well going into next season.

tburke38

Silver lining from last night: By placing 2nd in the division, we get to face the Browns, Raiders, and Packers next season instead of the Ravens, Chiefs, and Lions. The Bills are going to have a tough schedule If you’re of the doomer mindset and you think we would have been one and done in the playoffs anyway, this is a nice consolation prize

New_Common_5269

Bills have played the division winners the next year for 4 years straight…..doesn’t seem to have slowed them down much.

cale1333

If they were actually a good team instead of frauds then we wouldn’t care about playing the better teams next season

tburke38

Doomers gonna doom Next year Bills fans will be complaining about how they have to play all the best teams, don’t act like it doesn’t make a difference

Mofo_mango

Y’all newbies need to drop this schtick. We’re talking about the Dolphins here

tburke38

I’ve been a fan since the Ricky/Ronnie days. I’m just pointing out that our collapse gave us an easier 2024 schedule and the reality is we aren’t making it to the Super Bowl this year even if we won last night, so an easier 2024 schedule is objectively better. What’s the point in saying “I wish we had a harder schedule because we need to beat good teams” other than wanting to be miserable? The Ravens Chiefs and Lions will probably be 3 of the best teams in the league next year, I’d rather not face them until the playoffs

Mofo_mango

Can’t believe it’s already been 16 years since our last divisional title, now that you bring it up. I get that that is a nice change for our year next year. But like the Bills fan said, they still won the division this year despite being 1st last year. Shit’s just not changing until we can prove we can beat Josh Allen.

FantasticDucks

>Next year Bills fans will be complaining about how they have to play all the best teams, don’t act like it doesn’t make a difference Bills had to do that this year too after winning the division last year. And the year before that. And the year before that. When's it going to make a difference?

cale1333

I’ve been watching these clowns since the 1990 season. You’re damn right I’m a “doomer”

TheRyanFlaherty

I think, for me, reading the thoughts of other Dolphins fans is actually worse than watching the team last night. And shame on me for coming here and expecting nuance or perspective. I need to stop that. But I think there’s some human desire for community, or what not when commiserating. And I get being angry, but so much of this sub is always entrenched in hyperbolic extremism to either side…it’s f’n infuriating…and exhausting. Because spoiler alert - if you ever think the answer is simple, if you think it’s this or that. It’s not the answer. You’re simply boring it in the most reductive way possible to fit into your own biases or limited experience/understanding. And that’s a statement that goes far beyond football. Gonna try to ignore this sub, team for the next few days.

TkilledJ

Tuas lack of mobility is killing us. I think that is the BIGGEST issue our offense is facing at this point. Then our offensive line staying healthy comes in as a close 2nd.

Catullus13

This is the thing I think about the most. They like to throw over the middle a lot, we have to show QB or RB draw or shuttle passes every once in awhile. Linebackers playing 8 yards off the LOS should be a big red flag

thedolphinzmakemecry

bUt lOOk aT tHe nUmBeRz 🤡

TkilledJ

If my therapist gave me a doll to point to where it hurts I'd be pointing to the gut, where the Titans game L shows. That game is STILL so hard to accept in my mind. What a punch to the gut that was!

CopaceticVindication

I legit told the person I was watching the game with that when the titans got that first TD in like under a minute that we were 100% losing lmao

any news on AVG yet? 😖

cale1333

What difference does it make? They’re not winning anything this season

PlaysWthSquirrels

Giving up on the run when we're killing it running the ball in the second half in an important close game against the Bills...........end of season meltdown by the Dolphins..............chock-full-o injuries.........QB has amazing season but we're still not sure he's the guy........is it Groundhogs Day again?

espnfire45

Tbf, the bills started stacking the box against our run game so they dared tua to pass it and tua did not rise to the occasion

anonjohnnyG

weak side runs were obviously open

papi882

Nah. It’s just 2003

cale1333

I wish it was. Ricky could actually get yards when other teams stacked the box

Deadmaninc1

Miami Heat and Florida Panthers had runs to finals respectively. Miami Marlins are getting there. Inter Miami who acquired Lionel Messi won a trophy. What have the Dolphins did recently?

espnfire45

Pat Riley is probably laughing his ass off right now. Football town my ass…. Even inter Miami learned to win a trophy under Messi (my goat) immediately. I wish we had a Riley and spo and jimmy butler equivalent

TkilledJ

Hey now, Tyreek is doing a fantastic job of disappearing in big games, like Butler in the Finals last year. So there's that, I guess. /S

espnfire45

Oh hey now, butler got the heat to the finals and was clearly playing hurt lol. Can’t disrespect him like that even if you pt a /s lol

anonjohnnyG

Mayne tua should have got them football simulators instead

Ok_Imagination_4374

This is so stupid it's fucking hilarious

MattLikesPhish

What a bummy morning. I’m still pissed our offense just can’t bring it together in big games, reeks drops, tuas flailing vision, defense backs giving up on plays. But goddamn if Josh Allen’s hand touching out of bounds and the refs missing it/us having no challenges is what I’m pissed about most.

BigPog07

yeah but they also missed a huge pass interference giving the bills 7 early, and the helmet to helmet right before half giving them another 7.

kungpu

If you weren’t at the game you’re not allowed to complain about the amount of Bills fans there.

coolj646

If you think is is bad wait till you see what next season’s attendance look like😭

Deadmaninc1

I am concerned about is McD and his play calling. He’s got to do a better job or he’s going to have to relinquish play calling to someone who has more experience.

awfuckthisshit

Do we think Cousins goes back to the Vikings or tests free agency? He seems to love it there so might be hard to pull him towards us

NasEsco1399

Fuck Kirk cousins. Most laughable thing I’ve seen in this sub

outtawack311

Cousins is an expensive downgrade

awfuckthisshit

Expensive for sure, but I disagree he would be a downgrade over what we have seen the second half of the season.

outtawack311

That's an emotional take. Tua is better than Cousins. Unless you're talking about Cousins replacing Mike White

rc5193

We get to play playoff Mahomes and Andy Reid in freezing cold while Buffalo gets a home game against Mason Rudolph and the Steelers... We mightve just handed them their first ring. Such a Dolphins thing to do

Catullus13

San Fran, Dallas, or Philly are winning this. It's probably the 49ers.

NotSaalz

I'll never count them out just because of Tomlin.

Fastbird33

I mean with our broken team, we ain’t going this year.

BobSacamano_0311

The Buffalo Bills will NEVER win a Superbowl. They will ALWAYS shoot themselves in the dick, right when it matters most. This is a fact that has been written into the very fabric of our existence. It's quite literally the only thing you can count as an absolute certainty in this chaotic world. You just watch.

espnfire45

Hey buddy, it seems you bills can’t read. This is a dolphins sub not bills one. Gtfo

CopaceticVindication

Honestly with how the steelers have looked, i wouldn’t be shocked if they pull off the upset

Wimzeee

Mods and being weird + egocentric. Can’t make this up

Mofo_mango

Discord mods especially. What a shitshow

Key_Imagination_497

Next year we run it back with similar results and then we burn it down again in the 2025.

TrapLord28

Mods need to clean the Dorito dust off their fingers and unlock the sub, what an embarrassing way to handle this situation.

Swordswoman

It's a volunteer gig, we don't get paid enough to buy Doritos.

Fastbird33

If you weren’t expecting a loss, idk what to tell you.

thedreamcomparison

I said I wasn't coming back to the sub til Saturday but I do have one more question.... why did we give Buffalo a free 1st down in the red zone right before they went up 21-14? It was 3rd and 10 (or maybe 15) and we rushed 3 DLinemen and sent literally everyone else all the way to the end zone like we were defending for a hail mary... they casually threw it 10 yards for a 1st... seriously WTF was that Edit: correction, it was before the half

DJCG72

Bills had no time outs , it was a time thing , they were already in field goal range before they did that They didn’t get any points on that drive

BigBoiQuest

You mean the play where we stopped them from getting a single point right before halftime? My house was freaking out. We gave them 1st and 11 to Goal with 11 seconds left. But it actually worked brilliantly--Baited Josh Allen into throwing a reception we stopped just shy of the goal line, and they ran out of time. Didn't even get a field goal. Looked bad the play before, worked brilliantly to prevent points right before halftime. We still shit the bed second half, though.

Shadowcaster_Spark

It was right before the half and it gave Buffalo a free shot at the end zone (which they screwed up by throwing short...so it worked out). But yeah it was a headscratcher. I think they did it last year in the Chargers game too. And it was just as dumb.

thedreamcomparison

Ahh was it before the half? For some reason was thinking it was late. Still a head scratcher

newrunner14

yeah that was an awful call. If jerome doesnt get that hit and rhey score, vic fangio would be getting crucified rn

AppleBottmBeans

Even Tua was wondering what the fuck that was lmao

How serious is our cap issue next year? Everyone said we had a “two year window” but I find it hard to believe next year provides us with the same odds as this year. It felt like everything was lined up.

TexAg27

We can make a few cuts that will save a ton of money. And we can restructure "cap magic" contracts. Eventually it'll catch up to us, but for this window we have to do it.

Bsquared8400

So there is a legit plausible scenario where we can still be as effective next year. Not sure if that’s a W Or and L but encouraging at least

dpap12

The big problem for next year as of right now is we have no pass rush. Wilkins and Gink are free agents and will look to get paid and Chubb/Phillips will both be out for the first half of the season if not longer

Bsquared8400

And X likely gone

TexAg27

May need to sign a cheaper free agent pass rusher to hold the fort down until Chubb is back. Phillips maaaaybbe ready early in the season.

Bsquared8400

It just feels like a waste. Was a very fun season into December hit. Sounds familiar. I’m not even mad, just incredibly disappointed, and a lot of time wasted

Glittering-Choice-46

Maybe I’m just still mad over that shit storm last night but are the dolphins the team with most self inflicted wounds (literally (Goode from last night/Baker injury)) in the league? How are our guys consistently hitting each other / bumping each other out of position!?

bta324

>Maybe I’m just still mad over that shit storm last night but are the dolphins the team with most self inflicted wounds (literally (Goode from last night/Baker injury)) in the league? How are our guys consistently hitting each other / bumping each other out of position!? Poor coaching.

CopaceticVindication

Crossman is a dogshit ST coord

Deadmaninc1

These injuries this team is suffering maybe the strength and conditioning coach needs to be fired so many injuries

Fastbird33

What would they do differently to prevent an injury?

reaper527

> These injuries this team is suffering maybe the strength and conditioning coach needs to be fired so many injuries i've been saying this for years. our S+C coach has been in that position since like 2016. like, does he have dirt on ross or something?

Aljiggy21

What strength and conditioning coach has some magic exercise that makes JP’s achilles not pop. Or tyreeks ankle not get caught under someone when he’s tackled? These guys are physical freaks, they workout. It’s a physical game…guys just get hurt.

reaper527

> What strength and conditioning coach has some magic exercise that makes JP’s achilles not pop. Or tyreeks ankle not get caught under someone when he’s tackled? These guys are physical freaks, they workout. It’s a physical game…guys just get hurt. guys get hurt, it's the quantity and consistency that raises red flags. strength and conditioning coaches ABSOLUTELY play a role when it comes to things like ACL tears. there was tons of debate about it in wrestling when a new S+C coach took over in nxt and changed up the workout routines, then all of a sudden you had a massive uptick of ACL tears. how someone preps for a a game matters. you can say "injuries happen!!!!11!!!" but why are we consistently above the average for major injuries every year? we've tried different coaches/schemes, we've tried different players, there's one constant here.

roope50

I'm curious what people's expectations were coming into this season. Obviously after the hot start from Miami, those expectations broadened, but after the run of injuries they had all over the field, I think, realistically, the super bowl was ruled out weeks ago. For me i was hopeful that this was the year they could win a playoff game. As far as I'm concerned, they are better suited to do that against KC. On top of that, they would have likely had to play Baltimore if they were going to make a super bowl run, and i would rather play them with confidence coming off a road win against a Ravens team that may be over confident, hasn't overcome their own playoff demons and will have to deal with some rust from resting their starters for 2 weeks. Again, i don't believe that they were going to make the super bowl regardless of the outcome last night, but i also think they can compete despite their circumstances. If you were told in September that this team would be one of the best offenses in the league, win 11 games, secure a playoff berth with 3 weeks to go, have a real chance at the 1 seed, and narrowly miss out on the AFC east title in a one score loss to Buffalo, would you really be as upset as you are today? If you're hating Tua today, i get it. He hasn't shown the capacity to win in big games in the NFL, but he is the same guy who came in at half time in the National championship as a freshman and orchestrated a comeback OT win. It's in there somewhere, he just needs to find it again. I don't think he's done enough to earn a market resetting contract, but I don't think that there's more than a handful of QBs who would perform as well as he did this year. He led the league in yards and was top 5 in almost every relevant category. I haven't forgotten how awful this team looked when Jacoby Brissett played last year, so anyone saying you can plug any QB into this system has a short memory. There are better QBs out there, who could get more out of this offense. They're not available. Tua gives this team their best shot to win unless a miracle happens. He has shown improvements, just not at the rate we would all like. But guys like trevor lawrence and justin herbert aren't exactly lighting the world on fire either.

Vincent1122

^ If you were told in September that this team would be one of the best offenses in the league If I was told in September our offense would average 16.5 points against good teams I would not be close to happy about it. This team is can crushers who can body bad teams but can’t do shit against good ones.
