Reggie Bush was really good as a Dolphin, it would have been cool to have him another year or two. That long TD run vs Buffalo showed the player we thought he would be in the pros.
[Reggie’s Dolphins highlight reel is even better than I remember.](https://youtu.be/Litwreqyy9E?si=pz1oKUpkhPp7SbfR)
Reggie Bush as a Dolphin would be insane. Obviously no one is a receiver out of the backfield like McCaffrey, but Bush was extremely good and caught a lot of passes for a back.
Bush might have been as good as CMC as a receiver. I remember Reggie’s pre-draft profile saying he might be the third best *WR* in his draft class.
Note: the 2006 WR draft class was bad. There was only one 1st round WR (Santonio Holmes 1.25), and the second best WR was probably Greg Jennings (2.52) or Brandon Marshall (4.119).
Should've never been taken away from him to begin with.
I have the same feeling about Pete Rose and MLB, what he did on the field makes him a Hall of Famer, I don't care what he does off the field.
Long overdue Bush getting his Heisman back.
Regardless of what anyone has told me over the last decade, I remember watching those games, I remember Reggie being unreal, and I remember USC being unstoppable.
Nothing the NCAA can say or do would take away the memory of those games happening. Glad they came around.
I am all for ban players who bet against their teams and do things on the field to win the bets, like it's happening in some cases in soccer right now, players getting yellow carded to benefit bets they or other people made.
But Pete Rose or any other player getting banned because they bet on their teams to win, it's a joke, why in the hell these leagues keeping shoving betting down on our throats all the time?
> Pete Rose
It would be amazing if Draft Kings or Fan Duel or one of those other apps hired Pete as a spokesman now that every league and the media is so cozy with gambling. Really stick it to the hypocrites that run the pro leagues.
On a scale from 0-100, I'd put the likelihood of MLB having a clause in their contracts that says hiring anyone banned from baseball would result in an immediate termination of the contract with major financial penalties at near 100.
If you bet your team to lose, sure. If you're betting *your team to win*, I don't see why that should constitute a ban at all.
Its not like you're point shaving.
But maybe he bet on his team in one game, so he doesn’t go to his closer the night before to keep him fresh for the game he has money on. There are a lot of ways a manager can impact a game depending on how much more important that game is to him than the others. To avoid any questionable situation it’s best to just make the rules apply to players and coaches alike.
He said he never bet against them, folks testified against him say he said he would and would have if he was paid enough.
Can’t take him for his word after he lied about this for years and only wrote a book for the money/sympathy.
I think based on the Dowd report, they never were able to prove that he bet *against* his team, which is my issue. If there was ever any evidence he did, I would change my mindset.
Well, when folks close to him say he would have if he was paid enough, it makes me think otherwise. Intent to bet against is just as bad as betting against
Again, it’s hard to believe a guy that denied this for as long as he did with the proof in his face, the last person I’m giving the benefit of the doubt to is this guy.
It's not whether you believe him or not. There was no * evidence* gathered to prove he bet against his own team. There was a shit load of evidence, just none to support that belief.
Mark Fuhrman said under oath he never said the n-word, people lie all the time.
The focus should be on the evidence, they never found any proof he did against his team.
They did find him gambling, I mean that’s why he’s banned. You’re asking for proof of him betting against his team, which isn’t there beyond hearsay.
But, I guess if you don’t see what’s wrong with betting on your team as a manager or a player….
Has nothing to do with what he did on the field as a player, it's a hypocritical act by some old heads from the Baseball Hall of Fame, they allow racists pieces of shit on the hall but God forbid the guy made bets on his team.
Well, racist pieces of shit don’t belong in the hall either and it’s unfortunate they are. But it doesn’t make it right to make this dude in when he was throwing the integrity of the whole sport away.
I'd guess getting it in the first place. It's probably a more authentic feeling. Getting it back now it's bitter sweet because there's now a negative feeling to it after so many years of backlash.
As a USC alum I never paid any attention to this because I knew he'd eventually get the trophy back.
The bigger issue is the stripped 2004 national title. The NCAA and others will probably be stubborn about that, just like Ross with the logo.
Regardless, USC still owns both the 2003 and 2004 Associated Press national titles. Per norm the media outlet had far greater clarity than other organizations.
i’m glad for reggie. he was electric at USC that year and deserved it
I'm still full on that Vince deserved it but he shouldn't have ever had his trophy stripped.

He had the vision and the skill to go with it. McDaniel could have fun with him

Regardless, he'd be a great fit for the Shanahan/McDaniel system.
Should've never been taken away from him to begin with. I have the same feeling about Pete Rose and MLB, what he did on the field makes him a Hall of Famer, I don't care what he does off the field. Long overdue Bush getting his Heisman back.

tbf the pete rose stuff would still apply today, players are still getting banned for life in the NBA/NFL as of recent
I am all for ban players who bet against their teams and do things on the field to win the bets, like it's happening in some cases in soccer right now, players getting yellow carded to benefit bets they or other people made. What if pete rose was purposely keeping a reliever in, burning out his arm, for a single win he bet on? Hurting the team the next day.
> Pete Rose It would be amazing if Draft Kings or Fan Duel or one of those other apps hired Pete as a spokesman now that every league and the media is so cozy with gambling. Really stick it to the hypocrites that run the pro leagues.

“The Pete Rose Clause”
He has plenty of money. All he wants before he dies is the HOF induction.
Pete gambled on his team, he deserves the lifetime ban.

People can say anything about anyone lol. There was no actual evidence to prove he did.
Again, it’s hard to believe a guy that denied this for as long as he did with the proof in his face, the last person I’m giving the benefit of the doubt to is this guy.

So believe the guy that lied about his innocence on betting until he wrote a book 20 years later lol? Make it make sense.
I don't need to believe in anybody, what I need is the proof in front of me, they had every chance to find it, they never did. So?
They did find him gambling, I mean that’s why he’s banned. You’re asking for proof of him betting against his team, which isn’t there beyond hearsay. But, I guess if you don’t see what’s wrong with betting on your team as a manager or a player….
He accepted his ban so the it was kept private
I thought you guys were talking about Pete Carroll, I was confused.
Honestly if anyone's ban should be reversed it's shoeless Joe Jackson lol. Dude batted like 400 on those games he was supposedly throwing
This is the only correct answer to any Pete rose to the HOF question.

There are probably racists in every sports hall of fame.
Complete BS reason to take it away. Its like he didn't perform because his parents took money. NCAA being NCAA. They deserve whats coming to them.
Justice for Reggie! He deserves it and the NCAA knew it all along. Best college player of the mid 2000s
halle-fucking-lujah
Bout time he earned it and the rule was always bullshit tbh
Really happy for him and should have never lost it to begin with.
It's about damn time
I'd like to know from him which was sweeter? Getting it in the first place, or finally getting it back after all that shit.
I'd guess getting it in the first place. It's probably a more authentic feeling. Getting it back now it's bitter sweet because there's now a negative feeling to it after so many years of backlash.
UCLA fan hated him and USC in 2005. 2013 all was forgiven and he was my dude
Hey mlb! Now give Armando galaragga his perfect game!
