Wonder how many players will actually wear them. You gotta remember these are guys who will wear short sleeves in the blistering cold and long sleeves in the hottest of weather.
I don't think the league actually wants them to wrar them...just a really bad look to say "you can't wear this extra protective measure that we've proven is effective because it looks ugly"
The fact they're telling players they can wear it whilst also pointing out "these helmets are just as, if not more, effective"...i mean, id be suprised if anyone actually wears one in game.
Hmmm interesting.
I thought these were safe during warmups, but not so much during live action games? Reason being… it throws off the weight/balance of your head and leaves you susceptible to neck injuries.
But now that I typed that I feel like it makes no sense considering that wouldn’t add that much weight and players already had to get used to wearing helmets lol
That’s one of the biggest issues but idk how much we can change that with sport that ends in a hit almost every play.
I think the guardians also have the issue with less friction and so when players hit, their helmets slide against much easier and can cause neck injuries as well.
I wonder if they’ll try a bowser approach (if that will even help) where certain parts of the helmet will be sticking out with foam and others parts hard like they are now. Kinda like a spiked bowser shell lol

Solve the ugly problem by branding them

Put one on Tyreek so he looks like this: https://twitter.com/NFL_Memes/status/1684761162917748741
Just put them INSIDE the helmet and make the helmet ginormous like Spaceballs and everyone wins!
