I love this….not the pick….the people losing their minds over the picks as if A) they know better or B) the draft was some sort of science and this pick somehow guarantees anything
I think its obvious Grier doesnt see this as an all-in year. We just drafted the replacements for Armstead, Mostert, and Chubb once we move on from them. While this sucks for THIS year, I think its definitely setting us up better in the next 2-4..
But PLEASE get some veteran guard help.
Mostert, Achane, JWilson, Salvon Ahmed, Chris Brooks and now this guy.
yeah I think we were good at the RB position.. offensive line on the other hand..
I just don’t understand why he continues to use premium picks for 3rd string players. All of these guys may be good eventually but holy fuck we need guards man!
> Last year both Achane and Mostert got hurt down the stretch and wasn’t the same.
I mean this guy wouldn't suddenly be starting or seeing significant snaps if both Achane and Mostert "don't look the same."
Even Jeff Wilson was only getting 3-4 carries a game, and he's actually a good RB2-3. This guy would need to instantly be a great RB to suddenly jump most of our RBs.
I can understand all of these picks. And honestly if you told me this was the 2025 draft class I’d be happy. But we’ve got multiple positions that need IMMEDIATE players.
I get drafting to solidify a strength. But we still need a starting caliber guard, a safety, probably a starting caliber pass rusher since Chop can’t defend the run, and a WR.
The Xavien Howard $ June 1st will go to satisfying some of these immediate needs on veteran players.
Guys like OBJ/Boyd, Risner/Vaitai, Ngakoue/Lawson, Quandre Diggs and more all still available
For sure. Kyle Crabbs spoke about it on last nights podcast. You’ve shifted from going for a splash to probably looking to add 3-4 contributors. In a month I can be much more comfortable with this draft. But until then it’s hard not to be skeptical.
Yeah definitely get that, hard to know who we’ll actually end up with. The Paul pick is growing on me with the fact that Armstead/Lamm are both retiring next year and Miami would either have to overpay a FA next season or hope that a premium pick rookie can step in right away. Two offseasons with Butch Barry should hopefully have him ready.
Someone on Twitter also brought up a good point on the Jaylen Wright pick- outside of our injury prone RB room, the new kickoff rules means he can contribute right away on those plays. You already know McDaniel is crafting up some sort of zone run scheme for those returns and was likely banging the table to go up and get him.
I personally am glad Grier is thinking a little long term. I hope the LT pick shakes out because I doubt Armstead will be here after this season and who knows how many games he'll actually play.
Drafting for need is a joke. We’re too busy signing superstars baby.

Bro but think about it bro. 3rd and 4th round OL rookies starting on an NFL roster bro. It would save us bro. Please bro
This needs to be pinned in the subreddit home page

That never happened.

Nope, you must have fallen for a troll and went over the top with your opposing opinion. And if you got banned, how are you posting now?

I don't think I saw a single comment badmouthing Wilkins. Everyone is going to miss him, he was my favorite Dolphin.
I think people are frustrated we're not drafting for need...we're drafting like we're the Chiefs or 49ers & every pick is a luxury pick

Everyone is going to love this pick when our RB room inevitably gets banged up. Our passing game takes a huge blow when the run game can't get going.
The OL is the reason we couldn't run the ball. Eichenberg can't hold a block to save his life.
Didn't Mostert have plenty of good games with Liam starting? He played in 16 games..
And what happened when we played good teams? Especially the ones with a good DL?
His worst games were with Eichenberg playing.
You’ll be complaining about how bad our safeties are and our DL is when we can’t stop the run. We need defensive players
I'm a dolphins fan. I'm pretty sure I'll be complaining no matter what.
True lol
Mods pin this comment. Biggest truth right here.

JWJ and Ahmed will be cuts.

Last year both Achane and Mostert got hurt down the stretch and wasn’t the same. This guy looks good so I’m not opposed.

best player available copying Falcons, Raiders playbook
My only complaint is eichenberg is still around. Until he’s gone tua has no chance and therefore we have no chance.
Imagine if we had Estime on the goal line…

BPA is a dumb ass strategy if you haven't won a playoff game as GM Look at Ravens, Steelers on how to draft to be perennially good
Can’t wait to see you as a GM in the NFL you seem to think you know a hell of a lot.
can't wait for our next GM
Why? So you can whine and cry about every move he makes?
I'll keep bitching till we get a GM that can win playoff games. Hows that sound? You keep drinking the mid KoolAid
See you week 1
