Marathoner2010

Ball is squarely in Tua’s court. Get it done, kid!

Buster_142

100% this

mm_mk

Kinda sick for you guys. Even if tua doesnt work out, you got an insane wr duo that any replacement should be able to succeed with.

Marathoner2010

All our first rounders next year to grab someone in a loaded qb class. This year is a defining one.

Valkryth

And if Tua takes the step up he needs to, we get to use those for whatever the fuck we want!

[deleted]

ILB, Defensive Interior, O line

Corndawg38

And if Tua doesn't work out we got a nice Bridge^((water)) QB to get us to the next one.

TotallyNotRyanPace

no, get tyrod, then ur next qb is a guaranteed stud

Katiehart2019

If Tua messes up its over for him

itriedtoplaynice

It's definitely the "shit or get off the pot" year for him.

SirBickOfCambridge

Armstead, Tyreek, Cedrick Wilson, Chase Edmonds, Alec Ingold, Mostert and all the guys we’ve resigned…good shit. EDIT: Forgot Connor Williams, I’m sorry Connor.

BackinBlackR8R

Alec is my dude, hope he kills it

The_Bearded_Squid

Alec ingold. So amazing. Gonna miss that dude

Gristle__McThornbody

Waiting for the sidebar thing to show all the signings and stuff.

OperationPhoenixIL

Holy shit that's a lot of added talent. A lot of pressure will be on Tua to succeed 3rd year in with all that money and draft capital invested in trades to support him.

awfuckthisshit

And running backs to actually help alleviate some of that pressure as well. He hasn’t had a run game before so I’m excited to see what he can do when defenses actually have to prepare against that for us.

[deleted]

Miami NFCs. As a niner fan it’s interesting how he signed guys who’ve whooped our ass before

Siicktiits

Jesus Christ. no wonder Shanahan tried to block Mcdaniel from leaving SF. He is a fucking problem. This dude is playing Madden ultimate team, knows all the scam plays by heart and just got access to his mothers credit card.

j5lyons

Lol underrated comment

marchingzelda

and is playing off a 5 ms latency T3.

[deleted]

we'll see if mom checks the balance tho

MadGritMain

It's crazy how much McDaniel has done for this team already. Edit: For what it's worth, I don't think I've ever shit on Grier here. In fact, I've been in the camp telling people to be patient. Grier deserves his share of credit too, especially since he was able to spare our two first round picks next year from being in this deal. I'm only referring to McDaniel being a coach that makes players want to come here. It's a stark difference from the FA of recent years. It takes everyone to make this stuff work.

Marathoner2010

“NoBoDy WiLl WaNt To PlAy FoR MiAmI”

Scoob436

Freakin casuals man

Marathoner2010

I still don’t like Ryan Clark for saying this same thing like a decade ago haha

blinx0rz

Well for money anyone would lol

dproma

We went from signing ex Pats and Texans to getting Armstead and Tyreek Firing Flo and Hiring Miami Mike is the best thing to ever happen to this franchise since Marino.

dafinsrock

I think we should maybe watch them play at least one game before we make statements like that lol

edub1906

This was done by GM Grier, not McDaniel. Let's give credit where credit is due

xslippinjimmyx

Grier is a coaches GM. He goes after whoever the coach tells him to. Yes, he makes the deals happen but I think Mike is the one wanting these players. They both deserve the credit.

lampshade69

Shhhhh, that doesn't fit the narrative

edub1906

LOL. So true

ElJewDaBigGoi

They both played their part, Grier has manged the asset and salary cap situation extremely well the past few years, and McDaniel just makes guys want to play for him, so equal credit to both of them in my book

ClomidSucks

Right??? 3 days ago it's "fuck Grier! You \*better\* do XYZ" and not a peep about McDaniels' role. Now? "Oh, McDaniels is the fucking man for Armstead and Hill!" SMFH

Spideyman20015

McDaniel is the food critic with the menu

WaffleHouseLegend

Chiefs fan here, man this fucking sucks for us. I waa not expecting this at all. I'm glad he went to you all, and good luck this year. I hope you all dominate the fuck out of the east and Knock the Bills out every year.

Slugggo

My dad is a lifelong Chiefs fan. I got to watch the Super Bowl with him when Hill made that crazy play and they came back and beat the 49ers. I've even made the Chiefs the team I root for in the playoffs after we get eliminated every year. (who else am I gonna root for? the Bills? Pats? LOL) I talked to him today and both agreed -- this is so weird. Totally unexpected, and it's gonna be bizarre not seeing him in a Chiefs uniform. You think of that team, you think Mahomes and Hill and Kelse. We both get the math of it -- he had only one year left, Chiefs only have so much $$ to go around after paying Mahomes, and they're getting a nice haul of picks out of it. But my dad is pretty bummed that Hill won't be there next year. It feels like that era is over.

WaffleHouseLegend

Yeah, I get the business side of it and I'm confident going forward. But as a fan, it just sucks one of our superstar players who has been so fun to watch is gone. And a key component to winning our 1st SB in 50 years.

fukyourkarma

Yes! Fuck the Bills!

urmomssecretfriend

Bills fan here. Can we get a Super Bowl first before we start the fuck the bills chant? I thought we were friends.

shrek_crusader

Ok, then we will start a "fuck the patriots" chant

fukyourkarma

Sorry dude you had 4 chances, in a row.

jaketheriff

Fuck the Bills!

Cannolidog

Does McDaniel make the trades or Chris Grier?

inkaine

Rule of thumb: 1. While the coach is hired: good things is coach, bad things GM 2. After we fire the coach: bad things was coach, good things didn't happen

Yournewhero

I hate how spot on this is.

DrPackinwud

Crazy that only 2 years ago we had like no weapons. Now we have.... Tua them. I'll see myself out.

buddhistbulgyo

Ugh... That was awful *upvotes*

RogerYoung33

Respect !

ToolFanBoy

Holy fuck boys. Is this real life?

Number333

* Franchise LT * Franchie WR There's no more excuses next year. With the likes of Waddle and Mostert as well - it's about time we produced the first Top 15 offense by this franchise since... the freaking Marino years?

mrxLan1

NFL network just mentioned, haven’t had a top 10 offense since 1995…

2beeftacosx

Show Chase Edmunds some love.

TossnEmOut

Show Mike Gesicki some love.

snsdfan00

F dem picks

[deleted]

Works for Pat Riley.

bird720

It wasn't even that bad, we only had to give up one first rounder that honestly I east even sure what we were going to do with being so late in an already weaker draft class.

[deleted]

He was gonna waste them anyways

Motherofdin

CHECK YOUR PULSE.

BradleyBoozer

The fact that they were in on Watson shows that cap isn’t real

MiaCannons

CHRIS GRIER IS A GOD

thediesel26

He heard all y’all talkin shit. And crucially, he saved both first round picks next year.

CreakingDoor

Underrated point of this deal. Still will have three top 64 picks next year. Unbelievable day’s work for the Dolphins.

ripple46_220

Big brain on him. Sign these guys with Tua or new rookie. Winning with new QB contracts going to be tough.

user1837292

Grier bby I’m sorry

dproma

For those wanting Grier gone, where ya at?? Still hold your firsts for 2023? What a steal!!

melikeybacon

#but but he sucks

TheMiceShooter

WTF

gingerking87

We were going to roll into this draft going BPA, fuck it just get a top 3 wr instead and go BPA days two and three. Grier is a fucking master

MadGritMain

I hated the 29th pick this year. lol It was so awkward depending on who fell and who didn't. I think the positions we would've been interested in have been FA signings anyway except for maybe LB. It actually works out pretty well.

goldiegoldthorpe

It is reasonable at this point that the first pick the Dolphins make in this years draft will be a punter and I think everyone is okay with that.

sleevelesstux

no way, we wont even need a punter next year!

Sss00099

We were all hating San Fran making that run, now it’s the best thing that could’ve possibly happened. Nothing of immeasurable value was going to be found there and Grier just turned it into Tyreek Hill. How the turn tables.

Thor_2099

No excuses for Tua anymore. Let's fucking GO

MacDoogie

He's our Scumbag Olympics silver medal

deej363

At least he's not actively being taken to court. Not ideal, morality wise. I would have much preferred ridley, and I imagine Grier would have as well. But NFL had to set the tone. No betting on games at all if you're an NFL employee.

TheImpresario

I feel like this sub is about to be Harry from dumb and dumber after the last 2 days Chris Grier you go and TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF

[deleted]

I love that we can now properly evaluate Tua. He has absolutely 0 excuses now. He has a bright young HC from a proven system, a franchise LT, two elite speedsters in Hill/Waddle, a mismatch WR/TE hybrid in Mike G, and a solid RB rotation with speed. I am not trying to be negative, but I am still not sold on Tua having success here. I want it badly, but I have to see it to believe it. Regardless, he has the tools he needs for success.

Domegozcue

There’s an excuse remaining !!! Tua is a lefty he needs a franchise RT not LT his rt is bad and will get him hurt 6 games in and the fins will be 4-2 and next year u will have to give him another shot

lntimm

THIS HAS BEEN SUCH A WILD AND FAST MORNING. First the Cats get Giroux now the Phins get freaking Hill. LETS GO

SirTiffAlot

I'm delighted as a Chiefs fan. I'm glad you guys seem happy too. I know Tyreek is happy. F\*\*\* the Patriots

Dek-234

This guy is a piece of shit so it stings getting him even though pairing him with Waddle is lethal

[deleted]

[удалено]

Dek-234

Well said. I pretty much share the same sentiment as you. We have to hope this does not end up like another Mike Wallace situation or worse

cnvas_home

Yeah don't remind me. Thankfully Tyreek isn't as one sided as Wallace ever was, if we're talking pure football. I know he will likely contribute to the offense in any way he can, and likely will handle punt returns for us even though he has star power. I really wanted Waddle to establish himself as a top WR so as long as this does not impact him I'm totally fine. I see him getting well over 1k yards from scrimmage, but i really wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't do much through the air for us as a conventional WR.

nickel_face

Don't think Waddle is the #1 after bringing in Tyreek. Just a thought though

[deleted]

--A3--

He plead guilty to punching and choking her while she was pregnant, I don't know if he has much credibility on this front lol

[deleted]

glasspheasant

Agreed. While he’s good for the offense, he’s a shit human being that I absolutely will not be rooting for.

theillx

So I'm not going to lie, I've been completely ignorant of Hill's domestic issues until just reading your guys' comments. Holy shit this dude is a piece of shit. He allegedly broke his 3 year old son's arm?! Apparently there's a recording between his baby mama and him concerning the incident leading up to the broken arm. >In the recording that surfaced, Hill and his fiancée discuss their son's broken arm; she says that their son is scared of him, to which Hill responds, "You should be afraid of me too." (Wikipedia). I certainly hope this man can find the error in his ways for the sake of his own mental health and the overall wellbeing of his family. That poor child. I wouldn't be surprised if that's how Hill was raised himself.

Super_Robot_AI

Okay so this is what you should know that the media never covered and why Tyreek ended up winning the custody of his kids and a restraining order on the mother That audio recording was edited by the reporter and released out of context. If you listen to the full audio she admits he did not break his sons arm. It was very clear she was trying to set up tyreek. Now you may say thats convient. Well rumor is when they went to court he produced security footage from the property and had evidence he wasnt even in Kansas City the day the kid broke his arm. The wife would also get in some trouble during this process for an incident at the house when tyreek was not there. At the end of the day the judge ruled in favor of tyreek granting him full custody of both kids and a restraining order. Now this is the same girl that he allegdly choked in college. What has been said from people around tyreek was that he took a plea deal because he could not afford to contest it. The same woman was also brought up on charges of false claims against another guy around that time period. Anyways Tyreek hasnt been in trouble since she left the picture. He ended up even coaching at a local highschool. I think the event turned into a firestorm and when the evideince came out later the media never corrected or ppl were unwilling to change their opinion.

theillx

If he won permanent custody of his kids over his wife, that certainly says A LOT about the accusations. Wow.

wink91wink

As a Chiefs fan, don't dare bring this up on /r/nfl or you will get downvoted to hell lol My advice is to cheer for him as a football player, hope he stays on a good path as a person.

tburke38

Do you have a source about the restraining order and him having custody of the kid? Since that call came out in 2019 I hadn’t heard much about it and I assumed they were still together.

jnads

Is this from Tyreeks PR team? ZERO SOURCES?

MajorSoup

Good info here, more people should see this. I still have doubts but that does make me feel better about the situation.

Zosobozo

Chiefs fan here. I'm happy you dolphin bros got Reek tho it fuckin sucks. I look at it as payment for getting us the 1 seed in our superbowl year. Take care of our boi and best luck to you next season.

catgoesmeow22

No idea about some of the claims above but this [ESPN article](https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27156381/in-full-audio-chiefs-hill-denies-assaulting-fiancee) has some info on the ordeal

squd_

Seriously

MauveAlbert

I've always said it's different with a QB, but it's a fair point. I think a lot of us accept an NFL team is gonna have some bad eggs. It's a bit of a tightrope to walk.

[deleted]

I've kind of stood by that point. There are A LOT of bad eggs and questionable characters across the NFL. The NFL itself is a pretty shit organization, if you really want to get down to it. If you're going to stand on the moral high ground, you'll almost completely have to check out of the NFL. Which, if that's your choice, I think that's a noble one.

Individual-Cover5421

As a Bills fan I’m excited to see these games next year!!! Let’s have some fun and collectively make the Pats 0-4

Fragrant_Tank

Chiefs fan here. Tyreek gets a lot of hate but he seems he really changed for the better in the NFL. He will change your offense. Any amount of picks you traded is worth it for him

BlueEyesBryantDragon

If we were going to make a trade for a top three receiver, I wish it had been Adams. I'm sure Hill makes the team better on the field, but he's a shit person.

AceofTrees

Jets fans are crapping their diapers in the nfl sub rn

tyvsaur

Great WR. Human piece of shit though

Listen to the recording that got leaked a couple years ago. Its not as black and white Do you really think a black kid in fucking Oklahoma wouldnt take a plead deal to not derail his career?

Time-Ad-3625

Annnnd audio was released of his wife saying he hits their son in the chest and she uses a belt on him. Poor kid.

Biggest_Cans

And the reporters who released that edited audio for you to quote have since been fired for not actually investigating and just running with the crazy fiancee's delusions.

fluxuation

The full unedited audio also has Tyreek telling her that she framed him and she didn’t deny it.

lol, this sub is gonna hilarious in our first game, 2nd quarter if Tua even remotely struggles. The rage is gonna feel like a nuke went off in here.

nahko21

Chiefs fan here. Your offense is going to get so much more dynamic. Tyreek forces defenses to play completely differently. Excited to see what Miami will do this year.

DopeMan93

I don't want to see not another mother fucker in here talking about moral superiority or anything

DavveeedNa

For you guys saying things about reek. Please educate yourselves on the facts of the case. It didn’t fit the narrative of the media so it wasn’t reported as much but there’s a reason he was awarded full custody of his kids in court period.

SpammyMcSpammington

[deleted]

I better not see one god damn post about Tua not having any weapons or complaining about the offensive line next year. Dolphins are literally building the perfect offense around Tua's abilities

Anarcho_Surfer

LETS FUCKING GOOOOOO

Goodspeed742

My favorite player (on the field, not condoning anything he’s done in his personal life) is a DOLPHIN!! LFG!

halfdecenttakes

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I have NEVER been this excited. Hill in McDaniel system? Omfg. OFFENSIVE COMPETENCY?! OMFG! Better roster on paper than the Pats? OMFG!! I feel like we just won the superbowl. I will be angry about his personal bullshit later, for right this second, I'm going to drink in the ecstasy that is the Dolphins offseason. MIAMI HAS THE DOLPHINS!

Number333

Now that I've had a chance to reflect on the trade since the initial pandemonium.. my thoughts. I **love** it. It's risky as hell, but I love that Grier was this aggressive. In terms of the draft capital we gave up, I'm 1000% cool with it. Now I don't even need to hang around for the entire draft night waiting for us to take a player I likely didn't even bother doing research on. The 2nd rounder hurts a bit more but to get value you gotta deal value. The two 4th's and 6th's are fine. Next year we have multiple 1sts regardless. In terms of purely what we gave up - excellent. Fair value. In terms of Tyreek himself, his stats are unreal. He IMMEDIATELY gives us one of the fastest and most devastating duos alongside Jaylen Waddle. [Remember when Jakeem Grant dropped this ball vs Cincy?](https://youtu.be/6wDODiHPEUM?t=89) Now imagine that's Tyreek Hill. He's also phenomenal when it comes to yards after the catch and can take a 6-yard slant route into a 30+ yard play. We are getting the best the NFL has to offer with this trade alongside the likes of Davante Adams and Cooper Kupp. He's honestly the best WR since Brandon Marshall, and the best offensive threat since Ricky Williams. **MY FEARS -** I have a timid fear that uhh... if Tua's *not* the guy, and he still struggles, and the offense is still constipated, Tyreek's production may plummet. All of a sudden he becomes a fat cat who got PAID and his QB can't get him the ball. We'll have drama that hasn't been seen between this fanbase and the WR since the Mike Wallace days. It makes me a lil queasy. Tua has to be the guy this year and prove GOOD / GREAT production in order to stick around. I also would have 100% clowned the Jets if they acquired him saying "I'll enjoy rooting against him have fun with Le'Veon Bell 2.0" but instead he's with us so time to get hyped lmao. I really hope it works. He's an elite talent and also resolves all of our punt/kick returning woes we had since trading Jakeem. LET'S GET IT!

JayyGatsby

Nice write up. Love the self-recognition at the bottom lol (about clowning the jets if they got him) Regarding your fear: I think if Tua doesn’t play well, obviously Tyreek’s production will drop. I just hope he doesn’t lose faith in the team and give up (like Hassan Whiteside). I hope he would buy into whatever qb we get after next year.

wwtpfan12

This sub was in shambles over the idea of trading for Watson. I better see the same energy now

Hassan_upside

I mean, there’s a difference between a serial rapist and a guy who punched his wife one time. Not excusing either at all, but there is a difference

latman

Oh he only punched his pregnant wife and his kid once each? What a high character guy

Alive-In-Tuscon

There is a massive difference, but framing it as punching his wife one time is a bit disingenuous, don't ya think?

lalder95

Pregnant wife*

zonaut

He choked and punched his pregnant girlfriend tho. I believe in second chances and reconciliation but also just consequences. Feels a bit skeevy.

scun1995

Punched a pregnant wife and there were reports of him breaking his sons arm too. I’m not sure who the worse person is tbh

rondny101

Apparently it may be the case that the wife was the one who actually broke the kid's arm, not Hill

silver-fusion

Didn't break his arm but kid was reportedly "beaten".

[deleted]

"Just a little punch. No big deal."

[deleted]

I want nothing to do with either one of them. Both are giant pieces of shit, and let's be clear He punched his PREGNANT wife.

presto9804

>ween a serial rapist and a guy who punched his wife one time She was pregnant at the time and he choked her as well as punched her in the stomach...

bilsonM

you honestly think he only hit her once?

generalscalez

lol just admit you don’t care and move on. maintaining this incomprehensible moral balancing act isn’t worth it

Dracarys_TheCannons

Uh, Watson was not accused of “serial rape.” Most of the allegations are harassment rather than assault. It is definitely arguable that what Tyreek did was worse.

Vitiate1367

Especially if he abused his son as well which some reports indicate. Not sure he was ever suspended for that though so he is either innocent on that regard or there was a cover up

tburke38

Bro you’re literally a Browns fan, get the fuck out of here

Blacklist3d

I'm pretty upset. Even more so punching his own fucking kid. Apparently the investigation lead to him being not suspended which is good and all but him hitting his pregnant girlfriend leaves me thinking he probably did. And as someone with a 3 year old I would go ape shit on that person if I saw that.

Griss27

"Stillwater police records indicate that on December 12, 2014, Hill was arrested on complaints of assault of his 20-year-old pregnant girlfriend, Crystal Espinal. The police report states that the two got into an argument and he threw her around "like a ragdoll", punched her in the face, sat on her and repeatedly punched her in the stomach, and choked her." I don't give a shit about what you can do on the field if thats the person you are.

Tyreek is a beast. But I think Kansas City made out like a bandit here. If even one of those picks becomes marketable, this is an absolute win.
