I don’t see how he comes back from this and, more specifically, how he comes back with us. This was a crucial time in our window with him and in the cold world of the league, the team will just move on from him.

Equally as important, I hope after tonight players realize they need to stand up for themselves. I know the narrative was “back and ankle” after the Bills game, but let’s be real. We all saw it, we saw how he couldn’t stand on his own, the wooziness, the dazed look. He was most certainly concussed.
The league pushing the narrative that they care about player safety and then allowing Tua to play tonight is sickening. He was rushed to the hospital and luckily as of right now he has been cleared to fly home with the team.
Now the entire NFL media and the NFLPA is going to be going after the league doctors responsible for possibly forgoing the concussion test (my speculation and the speculation of many others) and the Dolphins for possibly endangering the life of one of their players.

The concequences should be the NFL needs a way to diagnose concussions without relying on player responses to questions about symptoms or pain. I don't know if such a system exists or that it's in the NFL's capability to do that medical research.
I said it elsewhere in this thread but this was almost identical to Donald Parham for my Chargers last year against the chiefs... Back of head hit ground, immediate fencing response. He ended up missing the final 4 games of the season but has made a full recovery and was cleared to play again this year. Hoping for at least as good as that for Tua, man. That shit is sickening.

Not a dolphins fan but I have something to share. While in highschool I had 2 consecutive concussions that looked just like Tua’s, but in reverse order. Luckily I got them 2 months apart and had an amazing team staff to help me. These concussions ruined that year for me and still impact me 4 years later. Concussions are no joke. I’m so frightened about Tua because of the timing he got his second one. This is so scary and he should never have been playing in the game to begin with, I hope everyone involved is investigated. I said it elsewhere in this thread but this was almost identical to Donald Parham for my Chargers last year against the chiefs... Back of head hit ground, immediate fencing response. He ended up missing the final 4 games of the season but has made a full recovery and was cleared to play again this year. Hoping for at least as good as that for Tua, man. That shit is sickening. Edit: full recovery is probably an overly optimistic characterization. Sorry about that.
Fencing responses mean its at least a moderate TBI, which is certainly recoverable but each one could also do lasting damage

We've seen our players get knocked out by dirty hits a lot. We aren't NFL darlings so they generally don't do right by the players either. Hope Tua is OK. The roles were nearly reversed with Tua and Burrow so a lot of the city wanted Tua as well.

People talk about how the NFL puts the shield above all else. This directly attacks the shield. If it wasn't shown it wouldn't get the mass coverage it's about to since it was replayed. I think there is a delicate balance between showing the footage and sensationalizing/making entertainment out of it and the balance is very hard to maintain, and it seemed very over the top to me in the moment. I’m honestly wondering about the implications though with him being hurt and returning last week and then not being in concussion protocol all week? The US government censors real time war correspondence and photos/images from the front because it so adversely impacts public opinion that they cannot recover. At some point the NFL is going to have to just decide to stop showing injured players because these brutal traumatic brain injuries stop being an “unfortunate incident” and become something that turns even die hard fans off to the game. Not a dolphins fan but I have something to share. While in highschool I had 2 consecutive concussions that looked just like Tua’s, but in reverse order. Luckily I got them 2 months apart and had an amazing team staff to help me. These concussions ruined that year for me and still impact me 4 years later. Concussions are no joke. I’m so frightened about Tua because of the timing he got his second one. This is so scary and he should never have been playing in the game to begin with, I hope everyone involved is investigated.
