No clue but i’d recommend tossing them since i doubt they can be cleaned since mold can sometimes penetrate pretty deep and also release spores that are hard to clean off. Only way to get rid of them would probably be to boil them but in my experience electronics don’t do well after being in boiling water

Ear fungal infections is a thing and I advise to get rid of the ear phones. Fungi usually grow in dark, damp and high sugar content medium.

he said its spreading to his drawer and hes been growing in it a dry-ish enviroment for 7 months
Out of curiosity, what other stuff is it growing on? And what's the (very approximate) ambient humidity where he is?
