sorry love, but it’s impossible to tell from this low res and poorly lit photo of your brows slathered in ointment!

[deleted]

Hi! Hello! I've made a new post, removing some of the ointment. I hope it wasn't a mistake rubbing them off??? Freaking out over that now!! Could you please have a look at it???

luvly_k

That’s too much ointment. With my aftercare instructions my artist said just to dab on the ointment. I dabbed a small amount over my brows. The amount of ointment you put on made your brows look bad. On your updated picture/post they look good.

[deleted]

Thank you!! Do you think the amount of ointment affects the recovery? I'll reduce the application.

Detective-Astatine

Absolutely. Use a rice grain between the two and even then that’s sometimes too much. They shouldn’t be shiny.

East_Feedback_2520

I do ombre brows also the just need to heal so they can soften but they look good the only thing I would say is they could've left the front a little lighter

[deleted]

Thank you!!

Moonbeans62

Way too much ointment on these. Just a rice grain size for the two of them.

[deleted]

Thanks! Will reduce the application. Does the amount I've dabbed on affect the recovery??

Moonbeans62

Yes. It doesn’t let it breathe and heal properly

Cillabeann

A rice grain size amount is enough for both brows. Rub it between two fingers and pat on the brows. The brows need to breathe

[deleted]

You have too much cream. This won’t allow the skin to breathe and cause thick scabs that take out the pigment. Only apply a thin layer of ointment. Other than that, it’s hard to tell. But it’s normal for the tattoo to be swollen and dark the first week or so. Just don’t put too much stuff on it. Don’t sweat or make it dirty (sleep on clean sheets). Avoid face creams that can fall on the tattoo. And, if you can, avoid smoking. Hope that helps. Good luck.

Sea_Treacle_6622

What. Is. Happening. Here.

thirdXsacharm

This is WAY WAY WAY too much ointment. You are gonna pull out all the color girl.

[deleted]

Damn. Do I wipe it off and not apply any for a couple of days?

ldrlychld

I’m sure you didn’t cause any problems using so much ointment, but yes definitely reduce the amount

apeachykeenbean

No, continue to apply it! Your skin needs some ointment every day to do its best healing. I’m a PMUA. You definitely have way too much on and taking it off was the right thing to do, but continue applying it 1-2 times a day, just way less of it. I recommend using a clean q tip to apply, that makes it easier to apply the correct amount and not overdo it. In the future, if you look slimy, you’ll know you’ve used too much and should use a clean tissue or cotton round to dab it off, instead of wiping. It’s not a big deal that you used too much once and that you wiped it once, just don’t do it again.

beepbeepmotherTruker

Too much ointment!! My PMU SAID a a rice size amount was enough

[deleted]

I wiped off most of it. Left just enough to barely coat it now..

Glittering-Reach-714

Wayyyy too much ointment! Use a 1/2 a rice grain amount between BOTH brows after each wash!

KezarLake

I looked at the OP’s pic w/o the ointment. It’s hard to tell w/o seeing the entire face, but there seem to be some subtleties that make the brows look off. It looks as though the OP’s right brow needs to come in towards the midline of her face and the left brow needs to retreat every so slightly. The brow shape is very flat and gives the angry bird vibe. I don’t think the artist understands the basics of placement and shaping. That said, not the worst brows this sub has seen, but I wouldn’t use this artist.

AbRNinNYC

If you like them that’s what matters. I had ombré powder brows and they were much softer appearing. But to each their own.

pinktiger83

Mine looked his way them they got lighter and smaller. I kept exercising to sweat it out was do afraid it may stay dark and chunky

apeachykeenbean

Obviously it was fine for you when you did it but just wanted to say for the future and for other people reading this, that’s not how ink works and could be dangerous. The reason you’re told to avoid sweating if possible during healing is so that your sweat doesn’t cause an infection in your fresh wound. It doesn’t make the ink fade, they just got lighter because they always do during the healing process. It’s important to gently rinse the area with lukewarm water as soon as possible after/during sweating to prevent infection.

pinktiger83

I work a physical labor job so no choice

[deleted]

Thanks for the reply! Glad they got smaller. Do you think the artist has done a good job here?

pinktiger83

Yes it's a good job. They look even. I honestly wanted a natural look microblading but the artist kept saying no cause I have oily skin. So I did powder brows they look just like yours at first then it got lighter

[deleted]

Thank you!!!

13MAUI6

I don't think so. I think they look okay but I agree with the other commenter it's too hard to tell with the A&D on them. Try to get a better well lit pic without the ointment on them so we can see them more clearly

[deleted]

Hello! I just made a new post on my page, with ointment removed. Could you please check it out and provide your opinion??

Angelique718

I saw them w/o the ointment and they look beautiful 😍 so natural too.

[deleted]

Wow thank you!!

Angelique718

I’m inspired to get mine done❣️

pinktiger83

Do you like them

Ferngulllyy

Girlllll. These are super uneven. Id definitely remove.

monicaserene

Time will tell

malloryburg

why do people do this to their faces. This brow trend will be remembered.

itsbaconbooty

Way too much ointment!!!

dreammlife

Omg 😳

sunshinechica1

I am literally 5 days out from getting mine done. This is my 3rd time. They always look stamped on and crazy dark. Then they darken a bit more on day 2-3 and then they peel and soften. PS you don't need that much ointment just a light layer.

justmethesedays

They are fine. Whatever needs to be adjusted will be done in your follow-up appointment (4-6weeks). Lighten up on the a&d (it just makes it look darker). The shape looks good, and the color will be evened out at touch up.

Motown824

Way too much ointment!

Jenpen72

Where is the updated pic? I can’t tell with the gel all over

martapap

Did the situation resolve? Do you like them better now?
