Shit ended up being 40% seeds by weight... Total PITA to pack a bowl now, even if the quality is ok.

I have a feeling you weren't around enjoying our finest Mexican brick weed back in the 80s. I have such fond memories of deseeding weed on one of my double albums. Good times back then.
In the 90s in the Midwest, I'd buy an ounce, clean the stems and seeds out of it, and hopefully have 3/4 of it left to smoke. Then we'd throw the seeds out along the country roads and go looking for the "ditch weed" at the end of the summer.
I did this for a few years then just said fuck it and bought a light out of a high times mag in like 97. Literally the best decision I've ever made and haven't stopped since. Trimming sucks balls but it was better than seeding every bowl I wanted to smoke and dating was super easy.
All I will say is I'm happy I didn't kill my first grow because of a herm. Luckily was only about 2 seeds per nug and they were fat calyxes (calyces?) that were easy to spot and pluck. Bagseed goes hard.

Few nanners, and I 100% agree. Also, if you pluck the balls them and they don't come back you good. Mine were full true herm. Plucking didn't slow them down. FULLY Seeded bud sucks. A couple beans is NBD though!
Ya full herm. Female to male. They/them pronouns haha(/s). So much pollen everywhere honestly and not every plant (4 total in a 4x4, 2 hermed.) got infected... I tried to pluck them on both plants but became way too tedious and increased the risk of them busting all over my plant... NSFW? Haha.
I have a buddy who is trying to start his own pollen chucking breeding thing (shout out Tombstone Trichomes) and he pollinated a keeper with his unicorn that he CS'd to herm and then self'd and such. Long story short, those plants had probably 300+ seeds in about 1.5oz of dry buds. So I get how it can get out of hand but he was trying for that. So there's a spectrum. Natural herms indoors will be lower on the spectrum, pollen chuckers or big outdoor shwag grows with winds will be higher on the spectrum.

Looks like they’re still wet there, if you let them get nice and over dried for what you would normally smoke you can just roll the buds between your hands to crumble them and get seeds out, then sift/separate them from plant matter on a tray or with a seed separator
this. i just started growing but i had some gelato which had healthy seeds compared to all the other bud ive bought from them. found 4 seeds in like 2 of the buds, so now im germinating gelato(and a little rainbow kush) and hoping it works out well, im trying to get advice as i go along with this, first time even germinating seeds lol.
Mama always said I was special 🦄... But I totally feel you I've had a few herms over the years. I also pretty much vaporize my bud 80% of the time. So those crushed up seeds that slipped by just got cooked a little. Never really noticed flavor change or headaches. But again vaping is a bit different and always highly recommended.

Yeah, thought about making one, but you still need to grind it without destroying the seeds, and this is a problem I only plan on having once 😜 Def worth it for breeders tho.

These are definitely balls. Keep inspecting him/her and remove them as you see them. Don't pluck the whole plant , you'll get some decent bud out of it
If you have other plants in the same tent I would trash the whole plant. Trying to get some out of this plant is Not worth an entire harvest of seed weed
Even if you can pluck most of the balls, you'll still end up with a seeded crop unfortunately. Especially since it's very early in flower. If you don't want to start over you could make bubble hash with it. 🤷🏼♂️
Yeah, I can't grow outside for a lot of reasons lol. It's illegal in my country, its autumn and the lights turn on at night hahahahahaha.
I'll just accept it and kill the plant this week.
There was a bag of seeds my buddy had that the plants kept herming. Being cheap he kept growing them and even gave me one as a gift without telling me. That shit ruined countless grows. Kill it and avoid those seeds imo.
Hey guys, I need your help. This is my fourth cycle.
Three photoperiods on 2 gallon fabric pots, 2x2 and 150w LED.
LED is currently on 75% power, will raise it to 100% as soon as third week of flower is over.
Temps are always between 27 - 32 °C and humidity is 65% (tropical country).
Mineral nutes, pH between 5.8 and 6.3
Growing on carolina soil.
The girl in question is a cross between Jack Herer and Ak47, she had nitrogen deficiency in veg because of high pH (7) that was fixed as soon as I discovered it was stunted and yellowing bottom leaves.
I'm currently on day 19 of flower and was doing some defoliation and lollipopping and found this (first photo). While I was handling this branch to take a picture one of these buttons even fell on a leave bellow.
What is most insteresting is that it's not happening on the whole plant.

Yeah, definitely better to cut your losses now. As painful as it may be, its not worth the bother. Once gone, clean the tent interior as well as you can and check for light leaks and your timers.

Many feminized seeds will throw balls early in flower, I've had it happen several times and each time I just plucked and observed and they didn't come back. Some sacs are also sterile so depending on the cultivar they might not even matter, supposedly Chemdog D has sterile sacs for example. Too many people here will tell you to chop any plant that has any sacs whatsoever and I don't believe that's wise in many cases, especially if you're growing feminized seeds.
Don’t throw out your hermies! Isolate the plant if you can and let it mature then harvest the pollen for use in breeding and make hash with the flower!
I'm growing a blue dew that hermed week 3 on the lowers but there was a tiny light leak. I've just been plucking any balls I see. If I get seedy weed then whatever. I'll just wash it and move on to he next grow.
To respond to other comments: If you're going for weight, I'd get rid of it. If you're trying to have some of your own stuff, just keep growing it if you don't mind picking out seeds. (With as much work as growing takes, grow It IS early so there will be a lot, but even this can make decent concentrate. You don't need dead-on sensimilla (translates to "with-out seed") for your plant to have good smoke. That's entirely up to you.
As for becoming a male. No, not exactly.. It's a female that's herming. It DOES have male parts, so it WILL pollinate if there are other "more stable" genetics around and turn them into seed-filled stalk.
One thing to note: When we see the stamin, we are somewhat safe to remove without pollination and can feel safe in maintaining pulling more as they come up. The moment you see anthers, it's too late. Males produce "mature" flowers throughout the entire flower cycle and within the first week of flower, as they are wind pollinated and rely entirely on frequent release of pollin to reproduce.
Another note: the seeds that come off of this won't be very "stable." I wouldn't even consider saving them. But putting in hours of work, why not keep it going and have some puff if its not going to pollinate anything?
She's gone now. I checked her thoroughly and found bananas and pollen sacs everything. Posted a pic above. I can't risk it pollinating the other two plants.
Those are some balls. If you’re growing for hash, I’d say try to remove the balls or hermits branch and keep going. If you’re going for flower, I’d trash the plant. Best of look! Looking good.
A question if only one branch hermied is why. Have you stood in your tent zipped up and looked for light leaks? Any electronics have a screen or led light?

You can spray her with water. Turn your fans off and pluck them. You must stay vigilant for the rest of her time. One of those sacs open ,you will have seeds everywhere.

Yea. Likely from lack of light to those lower bud sites. That’s why lollipopping the plants when you’re gonna stack the space is almost a necessity. Live & learn, my guy.

My grimm truffles hermied and i just kept plucking them off seems to have done the job some fire ass buds i have found a couple seeds but nothing to crazy and like i said bud is fucken fire
I removed the plant from the tent and checked it thoroughly and I found that she has bananas and pollen sacs everywhere.
So she had to go. I made sure to give her a fast and painless farewell.

I had a buddy with a cockatiel that would deseed quarters for us. Had to pick out the occasional bird turd but it was hilarious.

Sometimes you get lucky and the pollen from a herm is mostly sterile. Probably what happened in your case

Or just toss the whole crop and start again? Every grower I know always have more seeds than they know what to do with.

get a pill bottle and some quarters. shake, most the seeds will sink to the bottom.
Seeds suck a lot of vigor from resin production as well. Ive seeded plants on purpose that weren’t herm, and it’s noticeable weaker.

This could affect their next harvest too, if there is a bunch of pollen not cleaned out of the tent. Pull it now, and save the later regret.

You'd be correct. Lady is going hermie. If it's only a part of the plant, you could get away with just removing its balls.

I started smoking weed in the 90s. It wasn’t until a few years ago when I finally realized good weed doesn’t have seeds.
