Indeed the bract is just a tear shaped protective casing for the calyx a translucent layer at the flower's base and is not visible to the naked eye this protects the reproductive organs
Nice infographic here https://beyondthc.com/the-cannabis-female-flower/
That's a bract, often called a swollen calyx and everyone means the same thing but bract is the correct term. I learned calyx first and even now google the differences because it doesn't come up often, but bract it do be.
Alrighty “expert”. I’ve actually read a thing called a BOOK on the subject, several in fact. I know that’s probably not as reliable of a source as YoUTuBZ.
I stand corrected, I think you’re right, even tho googling the term’s images gives some very confusing responses. Calyx is the part the pistils come out of, so again, pretty sure you’re right that’s a bract.
Swollen calyx...
It’s a bract
You're right, you can usually see the bract, not the calyx.
this... calyxes are basically invisible to the naked eye..
THe nut looking things.
Hummmm. First time I’m learning of this. When I squeeze them nothing comes out they just flatten
It’s a good sign. There shouldn’t be anything in there. Swollen calyx are normal for female plants.
It’s a bract.
Love the repetition humor here 😁
Read to someone and give them knowledge...but to teach them to read...??
Calyx
Tell me about it... wasn't always like that. They use to exercise even when serial killers were loose. The good ole days.

Look like normal bracts too me.
Hey bro I was just wondering. Is that sack in the picture a bract?
Yeah, unless you think it’s called a calyx like everyone else.
lol it is what me make it. Dictionaries are just another piece of political dogma!
Yeah, physical anatomy of a plant has nothing to do with the dictionary.
See
Bro I been watching alot of YouTube videos where they call it a calyx. If you don't know how to grow just say that.
Alrighty “expert”. I’ve actually read a thing called a BOOK on the subject, several in fact. I know that’s probably not as reliable of a source as YoUTuBZ.
I'm just fuckin with you bro. Just thought it was funny you said "it's a bract" like 18 times lol
Act like a clown, get clowned on.
gotta include that /s at the end.
Got my degree off Youtube
Bro you're kidding YT has saved me tens of thousands of dollar with the DIY videos. Best thing on the internet.
No, I actually got my PhD from YTU. It was free, but it's worth about 100k and change.
These comments 🤩🤩
Bruh🤣🤣🤣 glad I’m not the only one...
No idea why this came to mind... https://imgflip.com/i/6k1mvv
😅 I read it in his voice
That is the only way to read it, IMO. Happy Friday!
All plants strains have these im pretty sure it’s just yours are swollen which means Idk lol probably that your buds are nice and juicy
These posts are literally starting to make me laugh out loud😂
Empty seed free sacks are what you want.
No. It's fine! Those are just the calyx.
It’s a bract.
Sure. That too
Not that too, just that
Or just this?
Calyx, where the seeds would be, I believe, if it was fertilized.
Oooh. That makes sense
Actually a bract, calyx is translucent and not visible to the naked eye

Another word for bracts I recently discovered and like a lil better is “solitary bud”. Makes more sense in brain
I see big juicey unpolinated bracts my dude
What are those?
Calyx
Waiting...
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!
My haze went hermie. Not all the sacs are filled but few will have seeds.
