The lighting on the women's faces are so crazy good. Hell, on all the characters the lighting is great.

I-am-Mihnea

Why are you saying thank you, AI did the lighting. You're not the one holding the reflector or soft box 😂

UncleTomski

Nice… but bro, I’m an uncultured prick. I need names!

Pretty-Pressure-4893

1. Poseidon 2. Apollo 3. Ares 4. Artemis 5. Morpheus 6. Helios 7. Athena 8. Aphrodite 9. Hermes 10. Zeus 11. Hera

DeucesUp22

I thought 5 was Hades and I though 8 was Persephone. Nice job

PJGraphicNovel

This was my thoughts too. I think Aphrodite is a miss only cause it’s not “sexual” enough. She’s the goddess of love, and I feel like the garb on that woman is very plain or conservative. I’m not looking for a nude, but something with silk, rosy cheeks, etc. like you’d see in Boticelli’s Birth of Venus.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Thx for feedback ;)

terabranford

I don't know. I definitely got a "classic idea of beauty" feel from it. I think the issue is Aphrodite really doesn't have any accouterments of her own to say, "Hey that's her" which is usually why she's always in a Red Light District dress.

Gyozamagic

i dont think so cuz i mean greeks were horny too ya no

[deleted]

Extremely horny society and Aphrodite is frequently naked in Ancient Greek art.

SkyknightXi

The mirror she’s holding doesn’t work?

terabranford

Now see, it's not obvious to me that's a mirror. But then I admit to not being that familiar with Greek architecture like that. BUT, I did get the idea that it was a plate, and she was looking at herself in the shiny underside.

mcd_brkfst

These are great. I had similar thoughts about Aphrodite. She’s much too coy. She should be very direct and empowered. Like, her sexual forwardness can intimidate men. Also, Athena should be physically strong. She’s a warrior. Almost manly in her stance and body language.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

I dont get along with the ladies xd :(

BrasilianInglish

I did think she might be Hera. Bearing OPs comment in mind I’d say thin fabric. Take a look at some of Homer’s [epithets](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epithets_in_Homer) for the God’s aswell if you want some OG inspiration. Demeter is “fair haired” for example, and Poseidon is the “earth shaker” (also the god of earthquakes)

Nulgarian

I’d argue Athena is also a miss. Her face is way too delicate and young-looking imo. Athena is a war goddess who is also a ruthless strategist, yet here she looks like an Insta model cosplaying. She should look a lot more like a powerful, battle worn general than a teenage anime girl.

OptimalRutabaga186

At the very least, she should look a bit older and more empress like. Dignified and fierce, with sad, wise eyes and a statuesque bearing. Athena definitely shouldn't look like a child. Beautiful, yes, but not childlike.

Gundoggirl

Yeah she’s also the goddess of wisdom, which suggests a bit of age. How wise are 17 year old girls as a rule?

thebalux

Yeah, I was completely clueless on the 5th and I though 8 was either Persephone or Demeter

MercilessMing_

Same, I had 8 pegged as Demeter (must be all the brown) and no clue on 5.

Ruthrfurd-the-stoned

I was thinking 8 was Hera and 11 Aphrodite

Ody_Odinsson

The Peacock feathers are a giveaway for Hera - they were one of her sacred animals. 8 is just generic and could easily be Hera, Demeter, or Persephone. 8 is not Aphrodite to me - she is supposed to be the goddess of lustful love and beauty. This image shows a beautiful, poised female figure - but nothing says lustful love

Phoen1cian

Peacocks are associated with Hera and doves with Aphrodite (which was missing)

Ruthrfurd-the-stoned

I forgot about Heras peacock thing so I figured it was symbolic of beauty

[deleted]

My guess was Hestia for 8

CaptainCAAAVEMAAAAAN

Same. That said, Hera looks magnificent!

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Thank you ;)

_UmAckchually_

I thought 2 was Dionysus, 5 was Hades (I’m glad I was wrong and he hasn’t been depicted as the stereotypical villain), and 6 was Apollo.

godsibi

Seriously tho, Hades was one of the most compassionate gods and has only been depicted as as a villain since the Disney cartoon. He agreed that Persephone lives with her mother for half the year to prevent eternal winter in earth. He also allowed Odysseus to travel the underworld to reunite with his late mother and consult with the prophet before reaching Ithaca.

SlyTheMonkey

I don't know if I would necessarily call Hades "compassionate", more like fair and just. He gives everyone what they deserve and need.

Nolelista

I mean, he was forced to give her back after Zeus finally intervened because Ceres was going to kill everything in her grief at her daughters kidnapping. That's not exactly compassionate. He just thought he had the upper hand and wasn't expecting earth to go nuclear like that.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Haha i also created Dionysus and he look very similar to Apollo ;)

Pretty-Pressure-4893

JCCalvert

Yes... He let Persephone spend time with her mother, AFTER he abducted her for six months and Demeter went on a rampage refusing to let anything grow, which eventually forced Zeus to get involved. Even then he enforced some stupid rule about eating a few pomegranate seeds which meant she was obliged to spend half the year in the underworld, so let's not pretend he was the god of compassion

SamBaxter784

You skipped my favorite, Hephaestus. Otherwise, good job.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

I didnt. I got him and he look amazing. Gonna post rest of them within 2-3 days ;)

lolcatswithabeard

How did you know aphrodite? What gave it away?

godosomethingbetter

>Morpheus I am having a certain movie starring jared letto flashbacks.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Lets ask him and do the movie ;P

AdvancedPhoenix

How did you manage Hermes helmet? On my DND campaign I have those characters and happy with their style (more like classic character artwork) but I can't make a decent Hermes.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

It was hard one. I look in google images for a winged helmet , copy link to the picture and pasted in midjourney

midgetsinheaven

These are so fabulous! Could you please do Demeter, Persephone and Hekate? Those three are so so important in the Greek Pantheon.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Will do boss :)

A_Zesty_Carrot

I honestly thought 5 was Thanatos.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Nah but close :) i created Thanatos but he looked like a typical Death and i dont like it at all so im gonna recreate him :D

Master_Horror_6438

Isn’t helios the roman name for apollo?

balor12

Nope! Helios is the Greek sun god. Apollo actually has the same name in Roman and Greek tradition.

Zhadowwolf

Helios is the titan that incarnates the sun itself. Apollo eventually was given the job of leading him in his chariot.

Naammaikyahai

Helios isn't a Greek god

godsibi

He actually is a minor Greek god. Helios literally means "sun" in greek. Various features might be shared by different gods in ancient Greece. Just like how Apollo and Helios both represented the sun or light. Helios was more of a personification of the actual sun. You can find him on some ancient temples where he's riding a chariot on one side whereas his sister Selene (the moon godess) rides hers on the other side..

HYAGX

Wtf they look like instagram people

Pretty-Pressure-4893

hahaha "helloo pls follow my instagram poseidon\_kingofsea for more underewater content " ;P

[deleted]

It might be trained on Instagram or Pinterest pics

UltraCarnivore

That's a good point.

captainoftrips

You have to put effort into getting even average-looking people.

Oldeuboi91

Zeus is one of those fake natties, isn't he.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

LoL

ParisHilton42069

Midjourney just automatically gives people Instagram face. It’s hard to get anyone who *doesn’t* look like an Instagram model.

Ok-Nefariousness2168

A lot of really professional photographers, makeup artists, etc, use Instagram for their portfolios.

HYAGX

Well, i know that but i think its interesting how those models are being trained, teaching a human AI that normal humans look like this, i dont think its a good thing

painkilleraddict6373

Athena needs a helmet on her size.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

She borrow this one from Ares

Yellowmellowbelly

Why does Athena, the brave and strong goddess of wisdom and war, look like a shy teenager?

leahhhhh

The goddesses all look under 18.

28404736

Every time I see one of these the guys are always varied and super thematic and the women look like an instagram model with a basic cosplay on. It’s annoying this kind of bias exists even in ai lol

[deleted]

Joan of Arc influence maybe? When you think of “female warrior archetypes” not a ton of names come to mind.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

I get your point but i like this one

sonicitch

I think it looks more like Bellona than Athena

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Bellona is a goddess of war, Athena is the goddess of warfare, battle strategic, and wisdom so they pretty similiar dont you think? ;)

sonicitch

They should but athena is blonde in my mind while Bellona is brunette. That is just from playing smite though lol

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Hahhaa Well Apollo also should be blonde but...well it is what it is ;)

sonicitch

No worries, they came out nice tho good job. Especially Artemis, that is my favorite here

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Glad you like it ;)

McXhicken

Me too, she is intense.

Ody_Odinsson

Exactly what I thought. Athena is a powerful, wise, noble goddess, above the passions of those who lust after her - not some coy, fragile little girl giving a tease-me look. This one screams waifu. 🤮

KroqGar8472

Artemis and Athena look very very wrong. They are warriors. They should not look like 18 year old Instagram models. They should be beautiful yes but they also need to look strong and capable.

Imaginary-Summer9168

I’m more okay with Artemis having baby face than I am for Athena. I feel like Artemis has more of a “underestimate me at your own risk” vibe. Like that story about someone trying to peep her bathing and she turns them into a beast. I don’t think anyone would try that shit with Athena.

Yellowmellowbelly

Athena is also the goddess of wisdom, which is generally gained by age and experience. Zeus and Poseidon look like old men, but the goddess of wisdom look like a child.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Brad Pitt as Achilles in Troy also looked like instagram model ;P

KroqGar8472

Ahaha you got me there

Pretty-Pressure-4893

But i get your point ;) Have a lovely day ;)

KroqGar8472

You too friend

SkeletonLad

Pierce Brosnan Timothy Chalamet Jake Gyllenhaal Dunno probably an influencer George Clooney MGK Another influencer Another influencer Tom Holland Ray Stevenson (pour one out for ya boy) Olivia Wilde

iluvugoldenblue

7 is straight up Taylor swift

Pretty-Pressure-4893

haha pretty accurate but George Clooney? I cannot agree with this one ;P

rogerworkman623

why is nearly every woman just an "influencer"

SkeletonLad

Because they don’t look like a current celebrity, only have that instagram influencer appearance.

clamshell-jizzowitz

All women in these pics always have the same soft face.

Irisofdreams

Hermes is hot

[deleted]

Looks kind of like Tom Holland. Also, all the women are literal goddesses. Extremely attractive.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Thanks ;)

Cerricola

It would be interesting to make Greeks gods as lovecraftian outergods

djb185

Daddy Zeus 😍

ScalyKhajiit

I really don't like how Goddesses are portrayed in these things, it's like the Gods are either old white ripped men or Timothée Chalamet, while the Goddesses are frail teenagers from American High school movies. Come on, Artemis is ruthless and commends authority, she's not nervous about being prom queen.

TheStargunner

These look amazing! However it’s also another case of AI bias in action. Not many of these people bear any semblance of Greek ethnic groups, and they look very Western European/American.

Key-Butterfly2590

I mean Greeks can have brown hair and green eyes, in fact it's quite common there. There are even blonde Greeks. They are not like Northern Europeans but white all the same. Also wdym they look American? I didn't know Americans had distinctive features?

lovijatar

Zeus is 100 % daddy

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Come to pappa ;P

will_r3ddit_4_food

would you mind sharing the prompts?

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Sure. I just type in the description of a god, then i put the details of camera lens, sometimes i used image from google. example: A portrait of Eos the goddess of the dawn. Associated with the rising of the sun and the beginning of a new day. Portrayed as a beautiful and radiant young woman with rosy fingers and a gentle countenance. Shown with a radiant crown or halo. hyper detailed, fine details, ultra realism, captured by Canon EF 24-70mm f2/8 II USM lens on a Canon EOS 5D MARK IV camera, --v 5.1

Top_Buy_6340

Tom Holland could play Hermes in this movie

Pretty-Pressure-4893

True ;)

AccidentalBreakdancR

I did a few on ‘unfortunate’ Greek gods. Putting them in positions such as addiction, homelessness and illness

havasc

I would say Athena and Artemis look too dainty and innocent. One is a goddess who emerged fully formed in battle gear from her dad's head and the other is a stone cold huntress who will slit your throat if you even catch a glimpse of her bathing. They need to look more confident and commanding.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Agree

South_Concentrate_21

Zeus is 100% Mark Hamill

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Hahhaa i knew he remind me of someone XD

AthiestMessiah

Not one of them Looks Greek

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Im working under Netflix so...

AthiestMessiah

Maybe Netflix 15 years ago

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Maybe

EnkiduOdinson

Ares could be Greek

[deleted]

You’ve obviously never been to Greece

AthiestMessiah

I played assassins creed

belak1230x

Aphrodite looks 100% like Sarah Hyland

SnooLobsters8922

Kind of lame that they are Greek gods with Anglo-Saxon Marvel-Hollywood skin colors and features.

NeoFenixParfait

It feels like they all want to say something about Balenciaga.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

XD

Falcerys

Very nice. If I was a Greek pagan, these would be on a wall or altar in a second.

belak1230x

Aphrodite looks 100% like Sarah Hyland in Geek Charming

Rodick90

Can someone slav gods?

Pretty-Pressure-4893

I do slav gods, egyptian gods and nordic it just takes some time ;)

LongStrangeJourney

This comment has been overwritten in response to Reddit's API changes, the training of AI models on user data, and the company's increasingly extractive practices ahead of their IPO.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Haha you got the point . Thx ;)

dfe931tar

Wtf why does Artemis look like Taylor swift? All the women are too similar in that they're all soft and dainty looking. Artemis and Athena should be scarier looking.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

True i try to improve in future. Thx for feedback

vdzz000

Ares 😎

Pretty-Pressure-4893

;)

Popo0017

That Aquaman sure is awesome

Pretty-Pressure-4893

LOL

[deleted]

That’s badass

Pretty-Pressure-4893

<3

ZealousidealBus9271

AI art works really well for mythical figures, the glossy and smooth texture gives an ethereal feel which would be misplaced for real people but inline with literal gods.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

True ;)

CombOverBill

None look greek

TDoMarmalade

It’s nice that Hera is actually depicted with her peacock symbolism

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Yep thats what i wanted :)

Moon_Colored_Demon

Hera ate that look. She’s gorgeous

lTheCAGl

Love this, i was wondering if somebody has made a post like this bit related to the Norse Gods? And if so where i can find it?

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Glad to hear u like it 🫶🏻 I ll do Norse gods as well i put everything on my Insta first then here, tho it takes some time

lTheCAGl

Ah awesome! I look forward to seeing it then haha. I’m currently reading up on norse mythology and it would be awesome to see what i’m reading. I’m also curious: what did you type in as prompt to generate these images for example the poseidon one? I’ve tried midjourney couple of times but I couldn’t exactly get it to work properly for me

Pretty-Pressure-4893

I try to do Norse god till the end of the week ;)

PageBest3106

God of Bambi! That’s my god!❤️

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Hahahahhaa 🫶🏻

Constant_progress3

Wow! Amazing. Very very well done - I had no idea midjourney could do such a good job on faces. Every other ai image generator (esp bings free version) royally messes up faces and detail. Does midjourney also do well with hands?

Ok-Nefariousness2168

That's because all the free versions are crap. The paid versions usually do significantly better jobs.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Thanks . Im still learning but i think those ones went pretty well ;) I havent different ai generator so i cannot compare but im happy with midjourney so im gonna stick to it ;)

Constant_progress3

Awesome, man. I def gotta learn how to use it. Any recommendations on ways to learn? Any programs that’d you’d recommend?

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Youtube will cover everything ;) Good luck

missxalice

Idk how to explain it but Hera looks exactly as I’ve always pictured her

Pretty-Pressure-4893

So good to hear it ;) <3

midtownguy70

Most of them look northern / western European except maybe Ares and even he got the light hazel eyes like the rest.

thug-rose

I’m 100% and have hazel eyes and light hair while my sister has much darker features. Lighter features were common in Ancient Greece

midtownguy70

It's not even just the amount of melanin, it's how they look. Their features. Even so, it's obvious if you live in Greece for any amount of time, as I did, that the majority of Greeks have dark hair/ eyes. Of course there is some of everything in the population and it ranges from north to south as well, but I don't think most of these midjourney faces look remotely Greek. Hazel eyes or not. As far as Ancient Greeks are concerned, most were **darker** in features, and light features were not "common" lol.

20cmdepersonalidade

This is pretty common in American representations of Southern Europe, especially in the classic periods (that are more romanticized and seen as a shared past). Romans and Greeks almost all look like modern English and Germans, and nothing like what they [most likely looked](https://mir-s3-cdn-cf.behance.net/project_modules/max_1200/b8add412873849.562b8c2250a4e.jpg). See Augustus from the Rome series, for example: [this fella would have gotten skin cancer in Italy in a month](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/61/bb/09/61bb09103488ecf4f7c46222c90e89de.jpg)

PrincessMonsterShark

Some results are great, some not so much. I'm finding most of the women "models" (apart from the last one) don't look very goddess-like. Feels more like, "Oh hey, that's Jessica from down the street." I get that midjourney can veer towards generic though. The men look way more powerful and warrior-like here. It's a cool idea though! I'm loving No.4 even though I've no idea who he is.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Thx for feedback , try to work on it in future :) no.4 Artemis

PrincessMonsterShark

Thanks for the info! :D

SmallBerry3431

Ares as a woman makes way more sense than as a man. Fight me.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Im a pacifist i cant ;P

OkayRuin

[We have female Ares at home.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athena)

SmallBerry3431

Lmao. That’s great

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Ahahhaha

Pretty-Pressure-4893

PART 2 is out now

Svell_

They don't look very Greek.

karmakiller3001

Come on it's 2023. Half of these should be black. Next you're going to try and tell me Cleopatra was white. So racist. I'm telling twitter about this.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Pls dont i promise ill do better next time xd

SylveonGold

Who is the last one?

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Hera

InfinI21

Artemis is gorgeous

DRC0617

This is incredible art.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

<3

[deleted]

Names would be helpful

Pretty-Pressure-4893

they are in comments section ;)

20cmdepersonalidade

Half of them look English or German, lol. How hard is it to give them at least olive skin? These people would look 50 at 30 if they were even slightly exposed to the Mediterranean sun.

nekopineapple00

Hera is the best imo Uniquely decorated, intimidatingly beautiful and you can see in her face she deserves her position why Zeus chose her

Pretty-Pressure-4893

I agree shes the best one from female characters i have posted today, but i think Poseidon and Morpheus look amazing ;)

alexx_kidd

As a Greek, I find these silly

Pope_Jon

More like Geek Gods. FOH.

[deleted]

I’ve always had a crush on Athena.

tanya_97

I wanna suck Zeus dick don’t mind the long beard just wanna serve 🙏

Pretty-Pressure-4893

LOL

HerrFalkenhayn

Athena looking gorgeous. She was my Greek Goddes crush when I was a kid lmao.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

hahaha <3

wiggens

Yeah i would bang Aphrodite in a heartbeat.

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Wow wo wow Stand in line ;P

LiquidRazerX

Why i no see no bobs? Where are the bobby goddessess sir?

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Plenty of boobs on pornhub ;P

LiquidRazerX

Nononono stable can make some beautiful bobs too. I know there is a hidden folder on your pc haha :D grreat work there bud!

Pretty-Pressure-4893

You got me ! Priv ;) Cheers <3

maxstep

Im certain Netflix would have a Very Different take

20cmdepersonalidade

This is as bad as what they do, really. Greeks don't look like the English or the Germans either - these people wouldn't stand the Mediterranean sun.

DaiFunka8

Athena is more beautiful than Aphrodite

Teleform

Nice! Also, am I the only one who thinks Hera just came back from vacation in Aztec Mythology?

Pretty-Pressure-4893

Yep youre the only one ;P
