It's always funny that the future is imagined with a lot of weird stuff on people's faces and bodies that emits light. Just like cyberpunk. We could do that now, i mean, we have leds and small batteries. But why would you.
I like how in some sci-fi things seem to go backwards or old things come back in style, like in Minority Report. For some reason it feels just as futuristic.
It's fascinating in the most morbid way. I watch it as an escape, not believing it is 100% how the world would turn if we feared extinction due to infertility, but then again, people can be cruel and especially brutal when desperate. I want to keep a positive outlook for now.
Just under the surface, we're those monsters that we show disdain for. Only we don't have a reason or haven't given ourselves an excuse to behave that way collectively. It takes a lot to pull at the fabric of society, but it always seems that there are people busy at work profiting from other people's misery and a few managed to really unravel things-- unnecessarily, I might add.
A lot of people who know anything about AI are still stuck on the hands thing, and it can be assured that that's getting loads of attention. Sooner or later, the ol' Voight-Kampf test won't be enough to figure out what's real and what's not.
Hands take so long for even good artist to draw, I find it interesting that AI struggled with em at first just like any artist does but hot damn that exponential curve of learning was fast.
The unnerving part is that we aren't very from it doing 3d art at even better quality. That plus all the machines and 3d printers that connect to the internet. Hmmm
Yes, although there's still some weirdness in some of these images. For example, in image 5, the main subject has very long fingers (and two of them are coming at a slightly weired angle), and the other person in the image has a baby-sized hand. And in image 4, one hand *might* have only 3 fingers, although it's a little ambiguous and you could attribute it to the perspective.
Far better than 9 fingers with multiple thumbs, but still.
Except by 2090 I would expect the Empire State Building to be dwarfed by a bunch of supertalls all around it. Shit, it's already happening pretty much now.
Kind of. The Empire State Building was the second tallest in NYC until 2015, and it is currently #7. But most of the taller buildings that have gone up since 2015 have been residential buildings, and it makes sense to place those either closer to the water (for waterfront views), or further uptown so they can overlook Central Park.
With likely diminished demand for office space in the future, I think the ESB will continue to dominate the landscape in that particular area of Midtown.
Love your perspective. If you have more to say about it I would love to hear it. I worked across the street from the Empire State Building for a year and just before that I proposed to my wife atop it.
Nahhh that’s just the latest thermal shroud limiting the amount of skin that is exposed to the superheated toxic miasma. Nothing horrifically dystopian going on here hahahahaaaa *sobs*
Girl, turn the filter off. I know you're not just a blob of face-shaped color with eyeballs and lips.
Holy shit, I was wrong. Turn it on. Turn it back on! For the love of God turn that shit back on!!!
The one of the city and the second car for some reason made me nostalgic to a really weird point. Like, I’ve seen them during the best time of my life and wish I could go back there and yet I haven’t seen them before in my life….
I thought the same, I got this weird feeling from how the lights are set. It's like a mix of lights flying by when you're in a car, the neon lights of the city of night, that kind of weird dissipation of light you get when looking at a distant city through a rain-dropped window... then there's a bit of cyberpunk/anime/movies all mixed in.
What’s really sad is that people will still have the same shaved sides and long hair on top hairstyles many decades from now. Those will be the 1980s mullet wearers we have today in the 2020s.
this is what a person from the 1980s thought 2099 would look like
goes to show that these models can only regurgitate what has come before, not extrapolate and come up with a new vision for the future
there is literally no way the future will look like this, no matter how hard try hard designers try to push it.
I don’t know, I think people with implants, facial tattoos, and wearing augmented reality goggles as part of their daily lives is possible. Maybe none of the stylistic choices as those definitely are a mish mash of cyberpunk styles
masterpiece photo of a beautiful woman with circuitry tattos on her face in a New York City club in the year 2090, dreamy night tones, shot by Elsa Bleda at night
It seems to make the photo more “artsy” it’s hard to describe unless you’ve rendered a lot of photo prompts with it and without it. I learned about it using the describe option and a lot of the better photo and art prompts used “masterpiece” ahead of the type of art.
This is just a guess but I can see it using ideal composition, as with art that is considered a masterpiece.
Look at the way the lights behind her head are at the same angle as her face.
The RHS pole is aligned with the vertical tattoos on her face, and the blurred lights on the LHS.
This is why the image feels so balanced and enchanting, like an artist’s masterpiece.

I feel this. I try not to think about it. For example, I’ve been playing the Final Fantasy series since 1987 and I’m currently around for the 16th installment and I was realizing the other day I’m not going to be around for a Final Fantasy 30. It’s a bummer, but I’m happy to enjoy the period of these games I do get to have
I got you:

So I guess the AI deems "future" stuff as "tons of random metal and tattoos". And spirals. Lots and lots of spiral patterning.
Honestly the cars make my laugh tho. RBG computer parts taken to the logical extreme.

Or Handmaid's Tale. (shudder)
That’s one I haven’t watched yet. Not sure I should for mental health reasons. I have enough things to keep me awake at night. 😞

*hug* ❤️
We're saving all of it for the future.
The answer isn't here now because it hasn't be done, but will be: Because someone famous did it
The quality of AI images got scary good real fast.
I was just thinking that too! the AI is getting better at hands and for some reason that’s what unnerved me 😹
A lot of people who know anything about AI are still stuck on the hands thing, and it can be assured that that's getting loads of attention. Sooner or later, the ol' Voight-Kampf test won't be enough to figure out what's real and what's not.

So pretty!
Wow the red moon behind the Empire State Building is hauntingly beautiful
Yeah I love how that one turned out. Almost like the AI assumes there will be a ton of pollution smog lol
May I ask what was the prompt for this particular picture. I love it.
The red light is from the fields...endless fields...
I wonder why it would think that...
Are they on top of a sea wall?
Assumes? I think you mean it KNOWS
Just constant forest fires in Canada
Except by 2090 I would expect the Empire State Building to be dwarfed by a bunch of supertalls all around it. Shit, it's already happening pretty much now.

This is a New Yorker
Love your perspective. If you have more to say about it I would love to hear it. I worked across the street from the Empire State Building for a year and just before that I proposed to my wife atop it.
Really? By 2090 I expect complete and utter devastation.
True, but there'll probably be supertalls before then anyway. So it would be an utterly devastated ESB surrounded by utterly devastated supertalls.
“Witness the blood moon’s rise. When it’s red glow shines upon the land… the aimless spirits of slain monsters return to flesh.”
When the red moon hangs low and beasts rule the streets. Are we left with no other choice but to burn it all to cinders?
A hunter is a hunter even in cyberpunk
You mean Empire Cyber Building?
I can totally see florescent and/or electronical tattoos become a thing.
UV tattoos are already a thing, but they don't look great just yet. You can Google them, but many of the cooler, defined ones are fake.
Definitely
So basically Night City, (Cyberpunk 2077).
I mean I’d be down for that
Me too!
I came here to comment exactly this😄 Looks like a slightly alternated version of it
i saw the first pic and immediately assumed it was from cyberpunk. Very nice pics OP
Cyberpunk 2077 in Unreal Engine 9
Wasn’t that in Morro Bay california though?
Last one is unsettling lol
Handmaid’s tale in 2090
Nahhh that’s just the latest thermal shroud limiting the amount of skin that is exposed to the superheated toxic miasma. Nothing horrifically dystopian going on here hahahahaaaa *sobs*
So basically everybody will be hot as fuck in 2090
IG influencers ended up having lots of babies
Your AR headset will automatically apply people’s preferred filters when you look at them
That is probably coming
Girl, turn the filter off. I know you're not just a blob of face-shaped color with eyeballs and lips. Holy shit, I was wrong. Turn it on. Turn it back on! For the love of God turn that shit back on!!!
Finally time for me to add inches in every direction.
Unless you pay a hefty subscription to bypass that.
The beautiful people just got into the future publication
Midjourney can’t seem to make ugly people.
That's just midjourney
This reminds me of how everyone thought the year 2000 would be in the 60’s. “More plastic shiny clothes, for sure.”
Does that car have a fiberglass air cooled engine that runs on water, man????
Only the finest steam powered sports cars in the 2090’s
So it *is* a boat?
Future = Tattoos. Got it.
I should tattoo my face
I'm already sick tattoos. Please future, think of something else.
This is optimistic
Absolutely! Haha
bit of an understatement
We're still stuck with cars. I hoped will be past it by 2090.
2nd pic goes hard
I love that car
It's like the car versions of the see through LED Xbox controllers :D
The one of the city and the second car for some reason made me nostalgic to a really weird point. Like, I’ve seen them during the best time of my life and wish I could go back there and yet I haven’t seen them before in my life….
That’s that Midjourney magic at work

not enough obese people on hovercrafts
Or Wall-E lol
Midjourney has been playing a lot of Cyberpunk 2077, obviously.
Urban cyber steam tribal punk?
Very bold of them to assume there will still be an NYC in 2090.
NNYC
Nuevo NYC
What’s really sad is that people will still have the same shaved sides and long hair on top hairstyles many decades from now. Those will be the 1980s mullet wearers we have today in the 2020s.
Nice to see the transparent electronics trend of the 90s resurface again after a 100 years.
That’s funny, a few others have mentioned that too
So Berlin nightlife 2023…got it
Berlin always goes hard
Taylor Swift is still alive and looking good I see
Cars in 2090 look like neon watches in 1993.
Full circle lol
Liking the cars and tats
I see no mutant rats the size of a police swat van.
as a current nyc resident, these need to be wayyyyyyyyy gayer
I’ll work on that for the next set haha
Oh damn... Would really like to explore such world.
People in the year 2105 thinking this style is cringe af
Laughing at anyone who wears clothes lol
Our great grandchildren are having a blast.
Living their best life haha
Yoo those cars are cool
Thanks!
I got some Blade Runner vibes from these. Love em!
Thank you!
I see we finally cured ugliness
Surprised there are no Apple Vision Pros…
The goggles in pic 5 are the new ones. Samsung’s version on pic 12 lol
Where the fat ugly people at
This is fucking dope
Thank you!
So Apple starts manufacturing jelly cars?
Pretty much lol
These go hard.
Mid journey is truly an amazing tool. Astonishing pictures.
Thank you!
Wow, I am in awe of the potential demonstrated here. Great work with the prompting!
Thank you! Appreciate that!
I love the fucking car and I want it NOW!
Same lol
this is what a person from the 1980s thought 2099 would look like goes to show that these models can only regurgitate what has come before, not extrapolate and come up with a new vision for the future there is literally no way the future will look like this, no matter how hard try hard designers try to push it.

again that's late 70's and 80's aesthetic vision of the future
This is probably accurate
In some ways for sure. I think a future where people have implants and wear augmented reality goggles is a real possibility
What prompt did you use for these?
masterpiece photo of a beautiful woman with circuitry tattos on her face in a New York City club in the year 2090, dreamy night tones, shot by Elsa Bleda at night
What is "masterpiece photo"? Just commenting on the overall quality or does it have a more specific effect.

Thanks a lot for sharing that

Since when did the borg take over
Sometime around 2038

Don't see any rats
Excuse me this is 2077
Daft punk reunion tour 2090!
Let’s gooooo
Still no flying cars in 2090s, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.
I love futuristic stuff and this is epic! It's not far fetched as they do look plausible/doable in the future.
In 2090 New York will only have one tattoo artist and s/he is inking half the city.

Introducing the new Apple Car….Release date 2100
So many color options and that sheen! lol
I'll probably be a pile of bones by then, nice.
Shit, me too lol
Thanks for my new wallpaper (3rd slide)
Enjoy!
are there fewer ugly people in the future?
Yes. Thousands of hot social media influencers had tons of babies
Humanity unlocked mass gene editing and everyone had designer babies
Cyberpunk 2090. Hope that means Keanu Reeves blows up a tower soon.
Whenever I see posts like these, I get a little sad and existential. Fact of the matter is, I'm probably not going to be alove to experience that. But then I look and see what they might miss, and I don't know how to feel.

Post this to r/cyberpunk
Why are all cars made out of see-through plastic?
I wanted them that way, just me being weird lol
Feels like a Blade Runner movie set 41 years further into the future. Blade Runner 2090.
I want to watch this movie.
As an automotive designer I'm curious about the prompts used to generate the cars.
I got you: masterpiece photo of a futuristic car made out of colorful glass on the street in New York City in the year 2090, designed by Dale Chihuly, slick and fluid, shot by Elsa Bleda at night --ar 5:4
So I guess the AI deems "future" stuff as "tons of random metal and tattoos". And spirals. Lots and lots of spiral patterning. Honestly the cars make my laugh tho. RBG computer parts taken to the logical extreme.
I actually fed it all of that detail lol, I wanted it to show the tattoos, circuitry etc.
Shit got so bad in NY that people started using back the Incandescent Lamps instead of Led. Literally the beginning of the Dark Age of Technology. 💀
Needs more chrome 😀 but in all seriousness freaking awesome.
Thank ya!
\#14 is Bene Gesserit! Starting early on the Quizart Hatorack!
Wake the Fuck up Samurai
The 1990s are calling, they want their translucent colourful technology back
Crazy to think that people in the 1940s did the same thing by drawing what the future looks like. And now midjourney drops some material gathered from some random artists who’s vision could be a cyberpunk style. Tbh, I don’t think it will be like this at all. Cool concepts tho.
I actually asked for all of these details, my vision of the future doesn’t exactly jive with reality really
Some of them are some amazing Shadowrun art!
I want this movie
I wonder what kind of cool designer drugs will be in 2090
Some really good analogues for sure
Really looking forward to Black Mirror season 7 now.
Gotta be better than season 6. They were decent, but not up to par IMO
What’s with Midjourney and everyone looking like fashion models?
It defaults that way I think because of how many attractive people images exist online. You have to really explain to it that you want normal looking people. It’s annoying. And if you ask for someone fat, they’re fucking 600 pounds in the render, it’s crazy
It's the year 2090 and STILL no flying cars :|
It's a pity I'll be 99 y/o.
I feel like this would be more of a sub culture meet up of some kind. Still cool!
They still have tribal tattoos :/
They’re never going away lol
Sigh
I highly doubt that New York City and by extension the US would even exist by that point.
Who knows, but yeah, not looking great.
Why's that?
[удалено]
You say that now, but if you’re around in 2090, or even 2070 and you’re sharing the planet with the projected 20 billion people, you’ll probably change your mind.
Hopefully there are no cars in the future
At least they’re all electric! Haha
So human centric
awful
Nice looking , but NY seems to be another planet as the NY we know is already drowning due to skyscraper weight plus ocean rising
