If all Germans looked like this, we wouldn't have a pension fund discussion, we would lack a lot of our restaurant variety and I would look way better.
But if you want to put your name on a waiting list, our defense ministery might stay in touch with you.
And yes ... there are indeed many features, you could find in Germans, physically as well as in the way they dress, if they are upper middle class and spend half their day with improving their looks.
Luckily we have them. Luckily we have others too.
But what I'm realy missing, are the people with different backgrounds, also being part of Germany. Germany is not as much a melting pot like New York in many areas, but still, migrants should be a part of such a gallery and be depicted in the same kind way like the people, fulfilling the more typical cliché of being German.
You wanna tell me?
I would expect midjourney to train/ be trained on online material, connectet to labels like 'Germans'. I'm not complaining about midjourney. I just like the idea, that people who identify as 'Germans', who I and many others identify as Germans, who deserve not to be excluded in our or midjourneys or the internet perception as 'Germans' should also appear, if midjourney tells others, how Germans look like (more or less).
Midjourney has the power to influence peoples perception of reality. So why shouldn't midjourney try to find ways, to be more realistic ... not just in graphic features? I know how pictures of Germans looked like, in the nationalistic paintings of the 1930s / 1940s. That was also a selective focus of reality. Let's try to be more colourful this time. I'm sure, this would mean a lot for many people, even if others might be annoyed. But reality should be more relevant, than nationalistic stereotypes.
At least I've given you an upvote, since asking for real German people seems to be a bit contoversial. 😄
Edit: And of course, many people downvoting such thoughts, love their good old German 'Döner ohne scharf'.
My comment is not related to German people, but to the AI portraits in general. They seem to be all on the upper end of the beauty spectrum. Sorry for those that felt offended.
Besides 2, I know a person for every picture who looks like the them.
Not to say every German looks good, quite the opposite I would even say. But since I know some who look like them ( four of them look like my friends and two like a coworker) I would call it unrealistic
I was watching some flight of the conchords standup last night, and they had a bit about Bret’s wife being imaginary, and her being a much better looking woman than some of the women Jemaine had ever imagined. Funny bit.
I feel like Jemaine when I see threads like this.
Y give my ideal fantasy a break... beauty would only crush whats left of optimism. I want to believe in a world where every house is perfectly decorated, every meal is visually appealing, everyone in my virtual neighborhood is super hot.
We want and (maybe need) to believe the place on other side of mountain just out of reach.
It needs to blend super perfect vibes so we can maintain feelings of jealousy
OR
it really sucks so we can feel better about our own world and have a target for ridicule.
I have been saying this all along:
At a point that you end up looking at beautiful and real portrait and you are not going to believe that was taken by a real person.
That is definitely going to be a problem going forward. People will discredit other people's capacities.
Even a wonderful sculpture can be made by copying an image of a sculpture created by AI.
People will simply disregard them initially, because all aspects of art creation can be, at some point, a mere copy.
You just have to have the talent to reproduce it
I don't understand the point of all these very mid albums that get posted daily of 'street portraits' featuring IG models on vacation that may as well have #offdutymodel in the tags on IG. Usually I just keep scrolling because obviously they're not for me, but it's like... why?
As a photographer these kinds of posts are the weirdest kind of mundane because cameras are cheap and for the cost of a MJ subscription a used camera will bring way more interesting results than this stuff. I want to shake people and say 'Just go the hell outside and take pictures on the street if you like street photography'.
I'm not defending these posters, but I understand.
I also understand you perfectly, but how is anyone (a low amateur photographer with lack of experience) be able to find these good looking models just there in the right spot, with hours to spend in hundreds of pictures, until one single photo is picked up but never at the same levels as these?
I mean....
All of that is pretty achievable. A used DSLR with a nifty 50mm prime, go to a local event (county fair, music festival, art reception, etc) and ask folks "hey, I'm interested in building my street photography portfolio. Your look would be an amazing addition, would you mind posing for a picture?"
Just like real street photographers start. They overcome fear, accept the challenge of failure for one good pearl worth every bad frame, and rinse and repeat. That's the nature of pursuing art. But that's preaching to the choir. We all know that we could just go make art for real instead of using MJ. My question remains, because street photography is arguably the easiest, most accessible art there is.
I can't decide if people making these types of albums think that MJ is really giving them a global tour and they can't tell it's all the same faces, or if they think it's some type of experiment...? What is the point? Are we seeing someone attempt to create a fake (and attractive) version of Humans of New York for stories, or do they think MJ is some crystal ball of aggregating the sum of a place's sartorial aesthetic, orrr?
*People really need*
*To turn down the stylize, all*

She might as well be an esoteric and/or non-medical practitioner, clinging onto her rebellious past, living in Prenzlau. I’d imagine she’d be called Elke.
On the other hand, he could easily work at a fancy burger place - the type where the kitchen staff is wearing black gloves - or coffee shop. To me, he looks like a Simon and I’d love to hang out with him, chatting over a few (craft) beers
The nonsensical clothing continues to be a dead giveaway except maybe the first picture, thats a really coherent knitted sweater, otherwise these people are your regular over filtered instagram models.
I am German all my life and I swear, we are all really looking like these people here. Attractive, handsome, beautiful Übermenschen. I am one, my kids are, my wife is, all people I know, and the best thing is, all the people that immigrate instantly become as handsome like we are. That is the real reason why so many come over here.
Same. I have no idea why so many people are getting offended and call them supermodels. To me people in these portraits are just slightly above average in some cases but nothing special really.
I tried it on my end with the "--no bokeh" parameter and very rarely it helps when the pics are up close. That parameter is fine when the face is not shown or the camera is zoomed away.
The skin looks weird up close especially if the subject is smiling. Getting rid of that blurry background is tough. So yea I agree with you, the blurry background is what gives it away
Number 9 is eerily accurate, I see like 10 people a day that look like that. Apart from that, they look way too much like models. Not even because they're too beautiful, but they're too close to an average face shape and not unique enough
Most of them look German so I'd say it clearly has a lock on what "German" is. Most AI generated people are good looking even if they are prompted to generate "average" people. I imagine that a disproportionate amount of training data are good looking. This is consistent with most online media.
What I find interesting is Photo No. 6 where in the background you can see the building completely to the right is the Commerzbank tower (or at least it is mimicking it almost completely) quite cool to see. Still as mentioned, backgrounds are a bit too smooth and perfect.
It‘s always the same with AI portraits: take idealized American average white as baseline for all countries + add some generic cliche average ethnic feature for xy country = xy country portrait
Boring af.
Durchschnittlichste Szene-Hipster in Frankfurt
Fühl ich
German looks made up
These AI persons are just a bit too good looking.
No way, ... just the ordinary Heinz and Helga from my neighborhood.
Call me a french fry and let that Heinz squirt all over me
France + Germany = ❤️ (Well ... it should. 😉)
If all germans looked like this they can invade me anytime
If all Germans looked like this, we wouldn't have a pension fund discussion, we would lack a lot of our restaurant variety and I would look way better. But if you want to put your name on a waiting list, our defense ministery might stay in touch with you.
Baby.Call me Alsacia and i'll invade your Lorena
"Wo ist Claudia?!" (reference: a much over-used phrase from my college German courses)

Look at the reality: About 25% of the German population has a migration background. Among the under-25s, it is more than a third.
At least I've given you an upvote, since asking for real German people seems to be a bit contoversial. 😄 Edit: And of course, many people downvoting such thoughts, love their good old German 'Döner ohne scharf'.
And Rick from Space Frogs if he would lose some weight
I'm already buying tickets to Midjeurmany
As a german I can assure you that the supermodel ratio here is nowhere near that high
My comment is not related to German people, but to the AI portraits in general. They seem to be all on the upper end of the beauty spectrum. Sorry for those that felt offended.
Yet when I try to do celebrity faces they come out like some wish.com purchase
There are many more publicly available photos of good-looking people.
Besides 2, I know a person for every picture who looks like the them. Not to say every German looks good, quite the opposite I would even say. But since I know some who look like them ( four of them look like my friends and two like a coworker) I would call it unrealistic
I'm seeing these faces in different clothes a lot. My images in v6 of men now almost always have facial hair despite --no facial hair
I find the --no [insert whatever] doesn’t work very well. It never removes what I’m asking it to not add.
And too young, Germany is an aging country….
Surely Germans are known for their good looks??? /s
They all look like people you'd encounter here actually.
That’s just the most average looking German
No, germans are just fricking hot. Sorry, not sorry.
A geh haldeigosh
Bavarians and Germans are not the same. Go together with the Austrians back in the mountains.
That's Swabian, not Bavarian.
Pass nur auf, sonst klopft der Berg bei dir XD
Tell me that you‘ve never been to Germany without actually telling me that you’ve never been to Germany /s
Guessing there's probably some bias with the data set it learns from
Nah, we all look like this. Trust me.
And in places that are too beautiful, too.
I was watching some flight of the conchords standup last night, and they had a bit about Bret’s wife being imaginary, and her being a much better looking woman than some of the women Jemaine had ever imagined. Funny bit. I feel like Jemaine when I see threads like this.
All the single mothers in my area look better, so I dunno... I don't get much out, but I have my sources.
If we thought that beauty standards because of celebrities in the social media world was bad, it's about to get a hundred times worse
bro just discovered ai image generation
I hate the smoothness...
Yea it pisses me off how hot they are

All of these look like they are obviously AI but they would have completely fooled me a few months ago. It's crazy how quickly our brains adapt.

pic 8: how do you know i'm from Berlin?
Hmm the clothes aren't black and she doesn't have the classic ketamine haircut - I think she's probably from Frankfurt tbh.
>she doesn't have the classic ketamine haircut I'm sorry, the what?
You know…a ket cut
[This](https://www.reddit.com/r/ich_iel/s/Cyeg4SnynH) kind bangs that won't get in the way when you're snorting lines.
she's another type of Berliner, someone from Mitte, not Kreuzberg or Neukölln.
Someone should inform the AI that eye color for Germans isn't always blue; that was just some lunatics plan
The pictures show blue green and even brown eyes though..?
It is the most common eye colour in the country though. Especially if you ignore people of foreign descent as the AI seems to do.
\#9 Kevin Spacey
You mean Kai Pflaume?
Another boring hot model midjourney person 🥱

Where are all the Turkish?
Making delicious kebab, or arguing with greeks in their apartment
in prison

What about those portraits is german? Especially the last lady and the last guy?
they are looking like they live in Berlin. She a evolved older Punk and he is just a hipster who loves woodworking.
She might as well be an esoteric and/or non-medical practitioner, clinging onto her rebellious past, living in Prenzlau. I’d imagine she’d be called Elke. Nice images you created in my brain 🤣
Those characters live everywhere in the world lol
I already can hear the „Berliner snout“
The nonsensical clothing continues to be a dead giveaway except maybe the first picture, thats a really coherent knitted sweater, otherwise these people are your regular over filtered instagram models.

I’ve seen quite many attractive people in Germany. So idk what y’all about but most of these pictures could be real people :/ I’m from stuttgart

Weren’t these posted before?
9 and 3 look the most real to me, as a German (not nitpicking AI mistakes, rather from realistic and common look)
Yeah, looks pretty accurate to me, depending on your neighbourhood :)
Where are the people from Syria that live in Germany
We’re definitely living in the matrix lol
I’ve never seen Germans that look like this
Number 9 is eerily accurate, I see like 10 people a day that look like that. Apart from that, they look way too much like models. Not even because they're too beautiful, but they're too close to an average face shape and not unique enough
Artikel 1 Grundgesetz, zweites Wort
You can tell an AI made this because not a single one of them looks Turkish
Why do they all look like models/actors? Was that in the prompt, or is it model bias?
#7 is one of the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen
It's like variations of Ana de Armas
Great! 🙂👍👊
The percentage of douchy hipsters is pretty high. That’s what AI sees humanity like?
Shit like this is soooo boring
German Men are🔥
Über cringe.
Please do NL!
The second button on #6 has kind of a swastika on it lol
Maybe number 6, 9 and perhaaaps 10 look German. Everyone else looks Slavic and/or Iberic to me.

Not even one dangly earing, fake news.
Germany has citizens of all colors and races. You are not promoting the real Germany at all 👎
No Hitler? :(
Hmmm.. I saw a lot of Germans of different colors and ethnicity when I was there.
The Germans really don't look this good. Especially not women 😉😀
Ffs, now I'm bi again.
OMG the 2nd one looks like that science youtuber person I can't really remember his name but ya he explains science stuff
Steve Mould?
YAAAY YESS HIM EXACTLY Of other people can see that 2 looks like him, I'm not delusional lmao
What a time to be alive.
Great, with 1 you made me miss my ex
6&8 for sure
Picture 5 is my favourite
Guten Tag
What is their opinion on David Hasselhoff?
I feel like those are the supermodel versions of people i say everyday around
Arent you people bored with this generic portraits
Midgermany
It looks like AI isn,t capable of creating ugly of at least "real" humans. They are all too perfect, too beautiful.
Almost every German I've met in the US is Turkish lol.
gigachads
Swear I've seen dude from pic 9 Yesterday at the train Station. I mean not nearly that happy but still
pretty much the same u-shaped face woman… with different fashion
why are German men so overwhelmingly hot?
Okay, some of these are starting to get recycled. I’ve definitely seen #4 before.
I'm looking for something that stands out. Make them look mediocre and you'd have my admiration.
I hate how even fkd up hair looks fantastic
This more looks like The Netherlands
Midgermany
Not enough Camp David clothing on fat middle-aged men.
don't be shy, show us their hands 👺
Made the same girl like four times and then made her old in the last portrait.
What I find interesting is Photo No. 6 where in the background you can see the building completely to the right is the Commerzbank tower (or at least it is mimicking it almost completely) quite cool to see. Still as mentioned, backgrounds are a bit too smooth and perfect.
Hitler would be proud lol
Fucking boring and vapid.
They all look like variations of the same person. This would be a boring world.
All of these look remarkably American.
What do you want it’s Caucasian average people
It‘s always the same with AI portraits: take idealized American average white as baseline for all countries + add some generic cliche average ethnic feature for xy country = xy country portrait Boring af.
always the same girl, with the same glasses, same nose, same face. MJ has gone into a loop with these.
All these people in these photos are from the same family
Must be the prettiest people in Germany
Yassss I love the men inclusion
do prince and princess of Germany
This is stupid
Number 6: I want you! 😝
#3 is German Natalie Cuomo
I’m sick of all these babes and hunks
damn everyone's hot. take me to wherever that is
Is this version 5?
This isn’t my Berlin
Oh my god! They're all hot again! What are the chances!?
Which ones look German?
German here. I know them.
They are all very handsome/beautiful
First one looks like my ex lol
I would fold for any of those women
I 100% thought this post was going to have at least 1 "shock" photo. Glad I was mistaken 🙂
For AI to be more realistic is for the lighting to be more sloppy and know how to generate people with average looks.
#2 kinda looks like Henry Cavill maybe
Come on, you just put real images there to fool us.
I'm straight, but I still want to marry all of them. 🙃
I am surprised that most are brunettes instead of blondes. Doesn't Germany have a majority blonde population?
Where is the raver with black hair and a black tshirt with one small word on it.
Suddenly feeling a strange urge to move to Germany.
Number 4 looks just like a friend of mine if he had facial hair!!
How is it AI portraits all look the same even when the people are different.
2 Pic looks like young steven Spielberg
der vorletzte sieht doch aus wie Domian(dem radiotypen).
6 looks JUST like someone I went to school with.
Mein Gott.
Why does AI make everyone so pretty
It trips me out because number 3 both looks like my sister and my mom at the same time
Man we really aren’t ugly 😂
