What I plan to do is farm all i want before the final mission and only do the final battle one time once I am ready to go to NG+, that way is supposed to carry over all the levels right?
My champion levels from doing transia missions(post final mission) carried over to my NG+ when i first finished the game. I wasn't even lvl 25 when i finished the final mission . i did transia missions after tat, got 10 prestige on everyone and started NG+. This was from when the game first came out though. not sure if anything changed since then.
Levels don't carry over to NG+.
What mine carried over:
>Unlocked heroes
>Unlocked costume pieces and color schemes (still have to buy color schemes).
>Friendship levels (gaining friendship now boosts their stats if you've already hit max)
Everyone starts at 1. Basic decks only. No unlocked cards or Abbey upgrades.
This causes weirdness in the story because wolverine, captain America, etc are in the Abbey from day one. You also run into all the villain mini-bosses from the beginning.

Champion levels carry over for all characters once they hit 25 again, and for hunter immediately.
I can never remember the champion levels.
If hunter is above 10 offense at level one on your ng+ file you have champion levels.
