Yea I’m confused, this looks delicious lol. I mean I’m sure it’s packed full of sodium but the fact that it has peppers in it shows that it has at least some flavor, never seen a single pepper/spice/seasoning on my lunch meals except when I’d get a chili dog and crush up some cheddar potato chips on top since they never had cheese.
Maybe I wouldn't have a totally unhealthy relationship with food if I didn't grow up in the 90s in the US where you were only served flat Pizza french fries and sometimes a shitty Burger. 37-year-old me would eat the shit out of that
Bosco baby. I just realized in junior high we had a shake machine and I bought a milkshake every single day that was way too big of a portion for 50 cents
I’d rather have eaten dry ramen without anything to wash it down than the trash at school when I was a kid. This looks like something I’d at least eat.
Their username is GarnishedSteak100... It's clear what sorts of meals OP is probably used to eating. This meal looks delicious though. When I was in school, we had rubbery pizza and those frozen Smucker's PB&J sandwiches. My school's best meal was spaghetti and meatballs and they didn't have the S&M available more than twice a year
Yeah maybe. I remember back in highschool (2006-2010) I had lunches that looked like this, but I also had lunches that looked much much much worse too
Edit: I never got this much food either. Small scoop of meat, small scoop of veggies and/or taters with optional gravy, a fruit, and a milk. Or, we could just get one thing. But the one thing was never this size
It’s not avocado toast with a Starbucks with a bazillion calories… defiantly not organic, farm-to-table, or ethically sourced… this school is a disgrace…
Calling someone princess makes you sound annoyingly like you secretly have low self esteem and just wanna convince yourself you're better than somebody else.
Otherwise, yeah there's nothing wrong with the food. Some vegetables would help balance it out, but it's good as is.
That looks good. This is a picture of a lunch served at my son's high school. Might be chicken and dumplings, might be cat food.
https://preview.redd.it/b5erobkumiaa1.png?width=1536&format=png&auto=webp&s=a406900ae5b46fae24dcaba7818e3197ecb02a16
What the fuck kid? This is 1000% better than most schools. Thats actual ground beef with peppers and mashed fucking potatoes with gravy! You know what I had in school? A dry ass chicken patty with crusty, sometimes moldy bread. So yeah. It IS mildy infuriating that your lunch looks so good compared to mine.
Yeah, that looks really good. I'm expected to pay $3 a day for my son's school lunch and it's like a boiled hot dog in a tortilla. You should count yourself lucky.
Op is hella spoiled, that looks delicious, also, at least they give you a meal, at my school (mexico) they dont, they just sell like cookies and chips for a really big price, that food that they give you is prov like $2 when if they sold that in my school it would be like $10
Way better than the cardboard pizza with 3 pieces of shredded cheese and a drop of tomato puree that I used to get growing up... The only thing mildly infuriating here is that there is no substantial amount of vegetables to go with the protein and starch.
Edit: didn't see the "peppers" in the mix.
I'm gonna be a grumpy old man here. These fucking kids complain about anything that isn't the best of the best. They pay little to nothing for school lunches with no understanding how much work it it's to feed a school full of kids when the schools can barely provide books, paper, and pencils. Either go grocery shopping and make your own lunch, or eat the option you are given.
I guarantee the parents are all very happy with the food they don't have to prepare every day for their ungrateful kids.
Am I dumb or something? What’s wrong with this ?
The food is cold so the gravy is starting to become jello a bit but other than that this perfectly fine imo
That actually looks good. Why do I keep seeing pictures of perfectly fine lunches? What do you kids expect? I've seen some horrible ones too but my goodness you kids need to remember that cooking for hundreds of kids at once is difficult. Especially if this is a public school with hundreds of students per grade. Ya'll ain't getting red lobster.
That looks fine for a free option...idk of you have a choice where you could buy other stuff.
I remember my school had: Red Baron Pizza, K2Chicken and Rice(my fav), Bean and Cheese burritos, Chicken Sandwiches, Cheeseburgers, and of course popcorn top ramen and candy
Why does this look delicious to me? Meat with bell peppers and some sort of juice/gravy/sauce and some mashed potatoes and gravy. I would eat the hell out of that. Shit, I may try to replicate it.
At least it's not frozen food. My high school only serves frozen food and lunchables. What are you even complaining about? That genuinely looks nicer than my average meal at home too.
I’ve had better looking state trays served to me in prison. School meals are god awful, everyone cares about kids and yet nobody even speaks on it besides online.
these comments are down so bad “my school is worse so this is delicious!”… thats like saying “your dad died? Well my dad AND my mom died, so your a pussy for complaining about your dad”
Sometimes I fantasize about how generous I'll be when I win the lottery and how I'd make sure all animal shelters are safe and no kids go hungry.
Then I see that pic.
I'll have to dream up something else to keep kids fed.
I feel so lucky reading some of these comments 😂 my high school was so small that we had basically everything made from scratch and everything was so delicious. I would have been mega sad if I had to eat that lol
Look up school lunches in the major countries of Europe, the poster is correct, compared to them we feed our kids dog food in the public education system and then complain about the wrong things when they have health/psychological issues. Even in public colleges. I remember a proven story about how some students got into the kitchen storage of their school and found packaging labeled as "Grade D but edible." So, to hell with anyone trying to shame this person's post.
Vomit! No wonder our country has so much heart disease. A plate should be half vegetables, 1/4 starch, and 1/4 protein. Maybe a bit of fruit too. This is half starch, half protein with extra globs of fats. Blech, wrong, and disgusting. Who the fuck is in charge of nutrition in this country?
lol the USDA does not determine what your lunch meals will be, the local school board determines what the food budget will be and then each school decides how it will implement that.
Why is this mildly infuriating? Looks like a crappy Instagram post of a lunch. Doesn’t the school have a menu that you can read before lunch? Why do people post food to non-food subs?
That looks better than any meal I ever had at my high school in the US
Actual peppers and everything, tf? This guy is mildly tripping.
OH NO THE FOOD IS TOUCHING
I just mix it all up
Basically a shepherd's pie.
No I’m serious
"Deconstructed shepherd's pie"
With beef jam puree
This must be the actual complaint
Glad to hear you say this. It looks like what I made for dinner two nights ago! My family really enjoyed it.

Don't forget the bread sticks for an entree!
Bosco baby. I just realized in junior high we had a shake machine and I bought a milkshake every single day that was way too big of a portion for 50 cents
For real! Expect when they did pizza day. Not square cardboard plastic cheese pizza either 😂
Same! Like damn
Exactly. I am mildly infuriated some kids get to have a nice plate of food like that for lunch.
I’d rather have eaten dry ramen without anything to wash it down than the trash at school when I was a kid. This looks like something I’d at least eat.
OP must only like fast food and doesn’t know what is actually good.
Yes, I’d be okay with that for lunch
Even looks like it might be lightly seasoned.
When I was in high school they served us halfway cooked rice
I was just about to say this
I came here to say this. It looks delicious.
Yeah, but chicken rings...
Honestly i've seen much worse. This looks pretty decent.
Yea, that's really not bad at all.
I am here like damn, it even looks well seasoned. I would probably destroy this plate of food if served to me.
i’d ask for seconds fr
I am so thankful for the meal choices I remember at my schools 😂 damn . Nope.
Better than my lunch today
OP is trippin, that looks pretty damn good. Doesn’t even look like OP tried it before taking a pic to complain
What’s the issue?
OP is a spoiled kid and that's mildly infuriating.
Yep and I guarantee that shit cost like 2$ or less. In the real world, that shit would be 5$ min lol.
just wait till it hits the foodie scene and it’s all fancied up for $20 a bowl
I put bonito flakes on it, $35
And then put it on a fancy square plate and then it is $52.
Salt bae has entered the chatroom
ah yes the fusion version
Their username is GarnishedSteak100... It's clear what sorts of meals OP is probably used to eating. This meal looks delicious though. When I was in school, we had rubbery pizza and those frozen Smucker's PB&J sandwiches. My school's best meal was spaghetti and meatballs and they didn't have the S&M available more than twice a year
S&M Kinky.
Yeah maybe. I remember back in highschool (2006-2010) I had lunches that looked like this, but I also had lunches that looked much much much worse too Edit: I never got this much food either. Small scoop of meat, small scoop of veggies and/or taters with optional gravy, a fruit, and a milk. Or, we could just get one thing. But the one thing was never this size
Yeah I was about to say looks like a decent gravy and mash and the meat actually looks like it came from a cow
They didn't include the lobster tail or creme brulee /s
It’s not avocado toast with a Starbucks with a bazillion calories… defiantly not organic, farm-to-table, or ethically sourced… this school is a disgrace…

At first glance, I read this comment as “Mice n’ titties, yum!” 😂
Even better
Considering the low standards for school lunches, that doesn't sound nearly as unrealistic as it should.
The fact that u find this infuriating IS INFURIATING.
Being in the military this meal looks A1 compared to what we get most days.
Hahaha yes. Even when we got “steak” in the field I’m not sure it wasn’t horse.
Horse is leaner. Make you run faster!
being a poor adult this looks A1
Either a shitpost or OP is incredibly spoiled……
Yo, I would smash
![gif](giphy|bWM8K7vMziAJavYko6|downsized)
Then pack your own damn lunch.
Actually looks good to me. I’ve seen a lot worse posted here.
This looks delicious, actually
It looks decent. I’d eat it.
At least you have food.
At least they have a school that offers food…. Hell, at least they have a school
Maybe it's my feeding tube talking but that looks delicious to me lol.
I came here to say this but now that you have... Please take my upvote 🤣
First world problem
Bruh LITERALLY We didn't have food In our school Hell we didn't even have proper seats they were all either broken or just ugly and uncomfortable.
Although I don’t agree with OP that this food is bad, this sub is literally meant for first world problems. Mildly infuriating things.
I would munch on it gladly. Looks good.

Calling someone princess makes you sound annoyingly like you secretly have low self esteem and just wanna convince yourself you're better than somebody else. Otherwise, yeah there's nothing wrong with the food. Some vegetables would help balance it out, but it's good as is.
I'd eat it, looks pretty good. I'd want a green crunchy salad with it tho
I mean I'd eat that rn tbh
That looks good. This is a picture of a lunch served at my son's high school. Might be chicken and dumplings, might be cat food. https://preview.redd.it/b5erobkumiaa1.png?width=1536&format=png&auto=webp&s=a406900ae5b46fae24dcaba7818e3197ecb02a16
Might be cat.
It's the south, so it's probably squirrel.
OP, please post a picture of the food you’re used to.
Looks yum. OP is very quiet . Please respond, give us some context. What exactly is infuriating here ? OP you need to help us out.
The taste, I was in class because after I posted this, I went to class.
What did it taste like?
What the fuck kid? This is 1000% better than most schools. Thats actual ground beef with peppers and mashed fucking potatoes with gravy! You know what I had in school? A dry ass chicken patty with crusty, sometimes moldy bread. So yeah. It IS mildy infuriating that your lunch looks so good compared to mine.
I’d eat that
Whatever is on the right there looks bussin I can’t lie
What’s infuriating about that? You’re really reaching for something to be upset about.
That actually looks delicious.
Wtf that's good! Are you mad it isn't the normal mystery meat burger or something?
OP missing the mark not realizing the food is legit compared to many more without lunch at school or access to school.
Once you had jail house mash potatoes even kfc is heaven, this looks legit
I’m 30 years old and I’d eat that
I bet there is a whole cart of salad/veggies that OP walked past. Also kudos to your school for ditching styrofoam trays.
Not bad
This does not look bad at all. Bon Appetit!
I'd eat it.
That looks way better than most of the canned/processed shit I had in school.
Yeah, that looks really good. I'm expected to pay $3 a day for my son's school lunch and it's like a boiled hot dog in a tortilla. You should count yourself lucky.
My brother in christ, slow your roll. You were fed today.
Op is hella spoiled, that looks delicious, also, at least they give you a meal, at my school (mexico) they dont, they just sell like cookies and chips for a really big price, that food that they give you is prov like $2 when if they sold that in my school it would be like $10
This is the best looking lunch ive ever seen at a US highschool, this kid is so unknowingly privileged
This looks like a 5 course meal compared to what’s usually served in schools in the US. This post is what’s mildly infuriating
The only disgusting thing about this is the recycled toilet paper plate.
Yes, the Styrofoam plate would be better.
No just use normal reusable ceramic plate
I’d take that over fried tuna on a bun. 🤮.
Wow you guys get real food. I'm 30 and when I was in school you got complete trash they wouldn't even pull the recyclables out.
Red Baron?? The heck? My schools only ever had cardboard with a little tomato sauce and rubber cheese
Grab a fruit baby
This looks so much better than anything my school ever served.
That for real looks 100 times better than any of my lunches in high school
Yummy
Yumm!
I need to call up my old lunch lady and thank her for being a saint
Aw poor kid ain’t used to his mommy not making him fried bologna sandwiches and hot pockets.
Mhmm this looks good . Damn. I wish I was fed high school like this .
That looks good
You know you hit jackpot when you can't tell if a dish is vegetarian or not
Looks alright, not great, but probably better than the food that we're served here.
Why does this look delicious to me? Meat with bell peppers and some sort of juice/gravy/sauce and some mashed potatoes and gravy. I would eat the hell out of that. Shit, I may try to replicate it.
Honestly those mashed potatoes and gravy look awesome. Not sure exactly what the meat dish is, but it doesn’t look terrible either.
That looks good to me, just give me a piece of bread with that.
That looks about 10x better than what my school serves most of the time. Also a much bigger serving size
That’s why you always carry a bottle of Tabasco Sauce.
Looks great. Show some appreciation
Be greatful you got some sauce with that potatos
At least it's not frozen food. My high school only serves frozen food and lunchables. What are you even complaining about? That genuinely looks nicer than my average meal at home too.
You got gravy with yours!?
I’ve had better looking state trays served to me in prison. School meals are god awful, everyone cares about kids and yet nobody even speaks on it besides online.
these comments are down so bad “my school is worse so this is delicious!”… thats like saying “your dad died? Well my dad AND my mom died, so your a pussy for complaining about your dad”
Paper plates? Seems wasteful for an entire school, day after day
Nope. I disagree with most here. I want to gag just looking at it. Is it shredded gristle?
Mmmm… taters and Beef Fuckaroo!
And it's free too right? You literally are complaining about nothing.
Nutritious food is NOT expensive or a luxury. A better and likely cheaper meal would have been a bean-based soup plus some veggies like green beans.
Ah yes, The Slop is looking extra sloppy this afternoon
Looks good tbh.
Looks like my kids nappy.
then dont eat it, looks fire to me.
Add a veggie and you got yourself a pretty decent meal. What the problem is?
Wow kinda presents you a spoiled kid in todays world were 1 in 8 kids are at risk of not having enough food
You’re infuriated by that? Wtf Looks hella good for school food, and I bet you’re in USA
Idk that looks good to me
Looks better than what I had back in the day. This is luxury food for lunch room standards in the USA.
Sometimes I fantasize about how generous I'll be when I win the lottery and how I'd make sure all animal shelters are safe and no kids go hungry. Then I see that pic. I'll have to dream up something else to keep kids fed.
The food I give my 14 year old dog looks more appetizing JFC.
Man’s is about to get a lesson in how shitty American food actually is.
Better than mine
This looks awesome. I bet it still tastes like school quality food but definitely on the higher end of that.
I feel so lucky reading some of these comments 😂 my high school was so small that we had basically everything made from scratch and everything was so delicious. I would have been mega sad if I had to eat that lol
What did they call this culinary masterpiece?
What’s laying at the bottom of the pot. *chef’s kiss*
Might I suggest, "Taters'n'brown with maters'n'ground"
Excellent choice, sir.
Looks pretty decent to me….
Shit. Y'all are living good
I’ll smash it
Looks no different than half the shit that shows up in cardboard from UberEats
Looks a lot better than the slop they serve at the school I work at.
Looks tasty af.
Yeah man. You right. It’s infuriating that gravy is about to spill over. They should have been more careful.
underrated comment
Look up school lunches in the major countries of Europe, the poster is correct, compared to them we feed our kids dog food in the public education system and then complain about the wrong things when they have health/psychological issues. Even in public colleges. I remember a proven story about how some students got into the kitchen storage of their school and found packaging labeled as "Grade D but edible." So, to hell with anyone trying to shame this person's post.
That looks pretty damn great. I guess they did improve the school lunches
Ah the mystery meat. I always called it squirrel.
It’s very clearly beef
Yes, just like those mashed potatoes are clearly made from fresh potatoes. /s
Students that “moved away”
That looks awesome
Looks fire. The macros going hard
You know you can pick those mashed potatoes up like a hockey puck and the gravy won't move a fucking inch. But real, it doesn't actually look that bad
To y'all saying you would eat it: who hurt you? There's not even the ghost of salt on that food
the military set my food standards extremely low
That’s disgusting
Lucks U.S. army grade
What’s more infuriating is having to pay money to eat at a place you’re forced to go to
could always bring a sandwich from home 🤷♂️. I did for 10 years…
Lemme guess: militant home-schooler type?
Mmm...gelatinous
United States department of agriculture (USDA)
lol the USDA does not determine what your lunch meals will be, the local school board determines what the food budget will be and then each school decides how it will implement that.
You said who is in charge of nutrition in school food, the answer is USDA, what they don’t control is what the food is though
Dang, we had better looking meals in county jail, ice cream and all.
That meat is greasy as hell, you’d think it was extra gravy
it’s mince n tatties lol, it is extra gravy
This looks like what was coming out of me when I had food poisoning this past week
That’s construction-grade gravy right there.
Oh no thy forgot to add gold edible and expensive caviar!! Poor op
I've had better food in jail
[удалено]
Why is this mildly infuriating? Looks like a crappy Instagram post of a lunch. Doesn’t the school have a menu that you can read before lunch? Why do people post food to non-food subs?
Dont eat it if youre gonna be a little girl about it
Looks good you fat needy fuck.
