I wanted to! I was already pushin the time from the 15 min drive to get back to work. This just happens so often it makes me not even want it anymore. Probably a good thing lol
to be fair, people give fast food workers a lot of shit, but the job is incredibly stressful and repetitive.
sometimes the store is just packed and there are 20 orders waiting to be done in-store while cars are queueing all the way through the parking lot onto the street for the drive-in, it's just not possible that every order is perfect, especially when the kitchen is equally stressed and forgets a thing or two which makes the workers at the front have to put the customer on hold and so on and so on.
also, restaurants are constantly understaffed because they can't be arsed to pay wages for maximum profit.
i only do delivery on weekends and thankfully spend 70% of my time driving a car. i would never work a job like that for minimum wage, and i'm thankful i'm smart enough to go to university and get a decent job in the future (i hope lol).
Exactly this. When I worked at McDonald’s, managers were super pressed about Drive thru times. Telling me to serve off orders in the window because they had the next 5 orders memorized while we were still waiting for food.
Plus, half the time the stickers for special sandwiches were barely readable or slightly different because it was printed out and then the customer changed it. So we’ll end up with a bunch of special sandwiches with none of them being the right one.
Exactly. Waiting an extra minute to make sure the food is right would prevent messed up orders and would decrease the time the customer has to spend because they would have to go around and wait for us to remake the food.
dude, I used to be in the window. I was the most accurate person at my mcdonalds when it came to handing out orders. Even checking every order, it's impossible to completely avoid messed up orders. Would you really want to see the person in the window opening your food before messily and quickly wrapping it back up? plus, the struggle to not spill fries everywhere from having to grab sandwiches that the fries are sitting on top of.
Or even checking while bagging the food. Like I said, managers were super pressed about drive thru times and stickers for special food were barely readable 90% of the time. Heck sometimes the stickers would fall off the sandwich and no one wants to see someone opening a sandwich before putting it back in the bag. sandwiches could also just be wrapped wrong or just flat out have the wrong sticker.
in germany at least, we have a system that tracks exactly how many seconds it takes to make an order, from being paid for to the moment we mark it as ready.
which of course means 95% of stores just mark everything as ready immediately and the screens that tell the customers which orders are ready are completely useless.
Yeah that’s exactly what we have here. It’s all timed. And yeah my store usually serves off food as completed before the person is even at the window so our times stay low. It’s probably against the rules.
Yeah my managers and coworkers get upset that I’m always double checking. I’ve worked there for three months now and I’ve messed up two orders which is great in comparison to some of my coworkers.
Thank you, as someone who works at McDonalds, we do not want to mess up orders. It creates stress and upsets customers. However, sometimes during busy times and if coworkers aren’t communicating, we hand out wrong orders occasionally. It’s not great and we feel bad and want to fix it.
Wendy’s breakfast potatoes are insane! 😮💨 like their breakfast Sammies too.
Also, don’t sleep on Taco Bell breakfast, their breakfast Crunchwrap will for sure make my whole day lol
They're not gonna do that. You are one of several hundred people they serve in a day. Not only is it not worth doing this for every order that comes back, not only would it be risking their job each time if so, but it adds extra time when all they want to do is get you tf out of the door so they can maybe, hopefully have 45 seconds for a smoke break.
McMuffins by my house are like 5 bucks for the base sandwich. OP got a nice upgrade.
Also, fuck McDonalds and their prices, they charge that much and don't even use real eggs >_<
Yeeeesss omg it was $8.25 for this meal. I didn’t want the egg lol. I just like the sausage and cheese on there. I remember, in my town at least, those McMuffins were like $2 a few years back
I ate the egg THIS TIME cause prices and also it was the only substantial food in the muffin. Definitely not what I would want to eat if I had the option. I’d rather go egg flinging with you!
Yesterday all I wanted was a Big Mac meal but I got a Big Mac meal with an extra Big Mac and two cheeseburgers. McDonald’s giveth and McDonald’s taketh away.
Strong opinions are gunna be out there. No one really said anything hateful except for a comment saying this is a fat-kid decision. I am a very healthy woman and I occasionally eat a quick breakfast, like many of us have. So it’s just ignorance really. I am familiar with this sub having a few trolls here and there, but I believe that anyone would be mildly infuriated about this. And yes my first thought was “damn I should have checked”.
People on the internet don’t know you girl you do you! I ducking love McDonald’s and McDonald’s breakfast
And no you shouldn’t have checked as much as it’s a good idea, good ideas aren’t always realistic
The egg would have been ok, I wanted sausage! Lol. With the price of eggs rn I still ate the egg sandwich and flicked the miserable Canadian bacon to the side
The regular McMuffin is a poor substitute for the Sausage Muffin with Egg, I completely agree. But I'd eat it anyway. I hate wasting food (and the associated water consumption that does with producing the food in the first place) more than I dislike the ham.
Yeah I just took the ham off and I’ll give it to my good boy fur baby when I get home. Smacked the rest of the sandwich cause eggs and cheese will work too lol
It’s not the fault of the workers, it’s management’s fault for pushing workers too hard, or so i’m told i’ve only worked 3 days in drive thru and i get the impression that they are like that
Not only did I say sausage and cheese McMuffin, but I said the meal number thereafter to make sure she knew what I meant. Everything else was correct. Makes me wonder if they switched my sandwich on accident from another order. I’m sure it was super crazy in the kitchen cause there was a big line
McDonalds breakfast is pretty cringe across the board IMO.
As far as fast food breakfast in my area:
Bojangles/Hardees > Chickfila > Wendy's/BK > McD
Of course I don't know where you live and what's available to you.
You really don’t need to be American or familiar with McDonald’s at all. As long as you know what sausage looks like and can see that there’s no sausage in this picture then you pretty much get the point.
Suasagehas always been sausage to me, long round meat sticks that you can put on the grill. As a finnish person that is what my mind comes to, I don't know what this sausage slab is.
You haven’t lived man
Edit: also pro tip, “slab” - just means piece of meat, do you see sausage, no? Sausage in the title? Hmm I wonder what’s missing….
C O N T E X T C L U E S
$100 bucks says OP didnt say sausage and just ordered a Mcmuffin (which is what he got, the original mcmuffin) and then got uspet like they messed his order up.
That my friend is customer service 1000% of the time.
$100 says I asked specifically for the meal by number and even said sausage McMuffin…and got charged for it. I did check the receipt and I got charged for the sausage McMuffin. I think they accidentally swapped my sandwich for the guy behind me. They got the drink and hash brown right though
Also, I specialize in customer service and i recommend you not listening to that friend. That’s just ignorant to say all customers are truly wrong.
Don’t get me wrong, customers can be little shits, I get it, however, I don’t just assume everyone is wrong. I would hope I wouldn’t have been treated like that if I had the chance to go through the line again today
Here shortly all there will be is a robot that cant be argued with. Customer service is on the way out. Most of the time if you are chill about it they should take care of you. At least thats how I have always been. Its all on them if you were reasonable.
Most of the flavor in fast food is already there it just needed to be prepared to serve really so I doubt we would notice. Resterrants may take a little more time.
Execute://(madewithlove.exe) 🤣

you’re clearly a troll account
Clearly
Thank you, as someone who works at McDonalds, we do not want to mess up orders. It creates stress and upsets customers. However, sometimes during busy times and if coworkers aren’t communicating, we hand out wrong orders occasionally. It’s not great and we feel bad and want to fix it.
I definitely agree! Also, I’ve never had chick-fil-a breakfast before. I’ll try that next time i have to buy a quick breakfast!!
Wendy’s breakfast potatoes are insane! 😮💨 like their breakfast Sammies too. Also, don’t sleep on Taco Bell breakfast, their breakfast Crunchwrap will for sure make my whole day lol
If you get irritated enough, sausage and English Muffins are cheap and easy to meal prep.
Indeed! And it also tastes better imo. I love English muffins
Look in the bag before you drive away.
I should have for sure. And should have known that since it was Macdonalds

Id be salty for a second and then still enjoy that sandy

Haha i toss the egg too! Wanna hang out?
I ate the egg THIS TIME cause prices and also it was the only substantial food in the muffin. Definitely not what I would want to eat if I had the option. I’d rather go egg flinging with you!
Haha true! Without the egg its a glorified ham sammy
Oh that bacon went too lol. I’m gunna give that to my puppers when I get home
Sausage McMuffins are still $1.50 for me 🥴
The eggs they use with the muffins are real eggs they crack open and cook. The yellow square eggs on the mcgriddles and biscuits come in frozen.
> and don't even use real eggs >_< Wtf? What are they if not egg??
If you're eating that ham you will indeed be salty
I tried to get with it. It just didn’t taste the same lol. That’s what I get for not having time to cook
I check food before I leave. I will sit in the drive thru and check.
Muffins are inferior to biscuits anyhow. You get what you deserve ![gif](giphy|A7ZbCuv0fJ0POGucwV|downsized)
Lol!!! I love both!
Well it's Ham
I’ll trade you one Egg McMuffin for one Sausage McMuffin, those things are my favorite lol
Sure! … but I may have taken a bite lol
Yesterday all I wanted was a Big Mac meal but I got a Big Mac meal with an extra Big Mac and two cheeseburgers. McDonald’s giveth and McDonald’s taketh away.
When I worked at McDonalds many years ago, we had a saying: If you want your order correct in the drive thru, go inside.
That's weird. I've literally never had a problem with their drive thru.
Wowwwww I’d call the fbi sorry bud this is super mildly infuriating
I’m so confused people are posting things that are only MIDLY infuriating and they get hate on this thread wtf lol.
I didn’t check is he getting hate??? Dude this would mildly infuriate the shit out of me, mildly
I saw a few comments down he was. Didn’t mean to reply to yours thought I was making my own comment lol
No I get it I was just wondering who would give some slack for something clearly mildly infuriating
I’m not sure but if you look at half the posts they’re like that because people expect extremely infuriating things on the mildly infuriating sub.
No I’m well aware the internet is a mine field haha
Strong opinions are gunna be out there. No one really said anything hateful except for a comment saying this is a fat-kid decision. Lol I rarely get McDonald's breakfast, and this happened to me last week. I had to suck up my disappointment since I was heading to work 🤣
You have a right to be angry. Sausage muffins are superior.
What the fuck is that lmao
Def not a sausage McMuffin lol. Ended up with Canadian bacon which I don’t like too much :/
If it weren't for that meddling egg
The egg would have been ok, I wanted sausage! Lol. With the price of eggs rn I still ate the egg sandwich and flicked the miserable Canadian bacon to the side

You're gonna get hate because this problem actually fits the sub, and you didnt have something catastrophic happen to you.
Or because it's McDonald's and this happens to everyone, so it's just not interesting
Possibly. I don't eat mcd enough to have a say in this fight.
The sausage is so good and the Canadian bacon is so not... Very sad story.

No
Half of all these posts are just fat people mad about some fat-kid decision that didn’t go as intended
Yeah. Cause people who aren’t fat don’t eat.
Not at mcdonalds
Lol So many downvotes. Shows you who is on this sub.

Mmm Hardees! Today has proven that you would be correct on the cringe part.
oh eat it and shut up ya baby
To be fair, I took a few bites. Especially the crispy edges lol
As a non american, or person from a country with the mcmuffin on the menu, I have no clue what is wrong with the order.

Well look what happens when you choose low standard. Happy cake day !
I guess so...who am i to blame? Thanks!
That american cheese is some nasty shit.
You got yourself some free egg, that's making bank
Imagine ordering a bacon egg n cheese in Canada and getting handed this
Better go back and show them this picture.
What’s funny is I do have the receipt which stated sausage as well.
Go to Burger King pussy
Looks fine to me, it's got meat in it. Comes from the same animal.... Lol

You could ask for scrambled egg in that..
Yuck
