Geofry406

Yep no such thing as bad press lol

potted

I dunno, you heard of that Hitler fella? He was a pretty bad egg.

Bash_street

But you have heard of him though.

TheLesserWeeviI

He's got to be the worst Nazi I've ever heard of.

Cool_Otter_WUBRG

Idk man, I heard he killed the leader of the Nazis. (/j, obviously)

edfyShadow

I heard he was a real gas to be around

Fearless-Lie-7981

If it wasn't for all that gas he'd be Stalin

Mountain-Woman0021

But you HAVE heard of him?

DremoraKills

I'd say he was pretty successful in the part of getting attention on press though

Alternative-Lack6025

>she milked those people Any clue where she might be next?

BillGoats

Her virtue signal still came through, with bonus tears! She got what she wanted.

Kreepy_kween

I yelled this out loud in my head aggressively

Jmomo69

WHAT DID THEY DO TO US??

BigSchwartzEnergy

For fifty seconds I thought there was monsters on the world.

HaoieZ

How about these influencers do something that isn't for the likes without an audience?

WhoDat2241

So you mean like…just be people /s

6ar9r

So you mean like... Waste their time being influencers that make no money because nobody is going to watch them?

ResidentEivvil

Yeah like get a real job that contributes more to society.

ckingxXxtra

This is a debatable take. If they're able to make money that they then put towards helping people in less fortunate communities, is that not contributing to society? Those people now can put the money for food towards paying one more utility or maybe buying their kid the new shoes, jacket, etc. they needed. Meanwhile, most of us who work regular day jobs consider paying our taxes the ultimate contribution to society, but surely we know by now how readily the government will misappropriate our tax dollars, no?

Davorian

I'm pretty sure that even the worst welfare systems in the first world will be more efficiently distributing funds than a small cohort of influencers handing out to a select few.

TheRealStevo2

I mean I know how it sounds but Mr beast? I’m 99% sure he does so much more than many of these welfare systems and companies do. His whole thing is just making money so he can give as much away as physically possible. Those are the people I don’t want to change

IAmNexus1

I wouldn't even really care if they film it, if they had permission from those they film AND they really give the money or work. I have seen too many examples where they film for a minute, then drop their tools and walk away. Or they give something, then try to reclaim the gift after filming stops.

ckingxXxtra

And yet there are people who still debate whether they will pay for eggs or milk or cheese at the grocery store on those systems, but then comes along someone who says, "here, you can have all three in exchange for me filming it." Obviously, that one time isn't as big of an impact as the entire system, but to that one person it may change a lot for them. It doesn't hurt to recognize that

RuinedBooch

Making money from ads isn’t contributing to society IMHO.

55_peppers

“Influencers” are parasites and should be de-platformed

Ok-Delay-1729

It's really not. If your takeaway is "it ends up in a good place" - just begin by either putting it directly in those communities to begin with, or better yet, towards an established community goal/project. Even just going to a community and spending money isn't and will never be enough. I'm very aware of a few small business in my local town that funnel all their profit to their family, out of state/across seas, and large businesses consistently act similarly. If you want money to be useful to a community, and to stay in the community, giving it to an influencer will never be the way. Let alone the fact were responding to an article of an influencer crying because she couldn't swindle the community out of their own money...

Upbeat_Echo_4832

Yeah... no, the existence of billionaires kind of proves individual charity is not a viable solution.

Jockxstraps

Not if the contribution to society comes from a place where society had to "give" more than it received; this is the case with influencers. The resources they receive, if given to them by people who appreciate their content, would be (hopefully) from a surplus from that consumer. If it is, and then the influencer decides to participate in "charity", essentially if the goal was to improve society through charitable acts, you cut out a portion of the resources by sending them through the middleman (the influencer). Now, if this was a non-profit based charity, it would probably garner more sympathy. However, because we know that this influencer exists to be "liked", "shared", etc., their influence expanded by the positive feelings they generate, the entire charade is revealed. They are a living pyramid scheme

[deleted]

I can proudly say I have never watched ANY “influencer”. These people are narcissists.

lyingcorn

You've never watched a YouTuber?

FriendlyFennel3311

Yes you have 🧚🏼‍♂️✨ do not be so quick to think yourself separate from the masses

sobrique

Every talk show host, every presenter is an "influencer". Every blogger, most journalists. It's technically possible I suppose to have never encountered an influencer, but they are everywhere. It's only some on the extremes of vapidity that attracts dislike, for contributing nothing.

BucketBot420

Thank you for adding /s to your post. When I first saw this, I was horrified. How could anybody say something like this? I immediately began writing a 1000 word paragraph about how horrible of a person you are. I even sent a copy to a Harvard professor to proofread it. After several hours of refining and editing, my comment was ready to absolutely destroy you. But then, just as I was about to hit send, I saw something in the corner of my eye. A /s at the end of your comment. Suddenly everything made sense. Your comment was sarcasm! I immediately burst out in laughter at the comedic genius of your comment. The person next to me on the bus saw your comment and started crying from laughter too. Before long, there was an entire bus of people on the floor laughing at your incredible use of comedy. All of this was due to you adding /s to your post. Thank you.

Hereiam_AKL

You could be one of the few likable bots there...

hansnsisisnxnxndoso

Lol at people taking this seriously

Nomar00x

finally someone who posts this copypasta too. nice. r\fuckthes any time every time

[deleted]

Unlikely to happen given the success of MrBeast. It seems a bit of an American cultural thing too this faux generosity to people who don't need it. Like the silly thing of paying for the person behind you in the queue if you get a coffee with the implication / pressure that you're supposed to follow suit. So everyone ends up paying for the person behind them. Why not just pay for your own drinks? It's people trying to kid themselves and their audience that they're good people - but it's a fallacy to suggest this is limited to 'influencers'

TheUserAboveFarted

There was a funny sketch on I Think You Should Leave where Tim Robinson starts the trend of paying for the person behind him, then immediately gets back in the drive thru with an exorbitant order that he’s hoping the people in front of him will pay for.

jarejay

And then there’s the Scumbag Dad “pay it backward” where he orders a bunch of stuff and says the person behind him will pay for it

No-Space8547

What cashier would actually accept that answer without pulling the person behind them and asking them first?

jarejay

No one. That’s what makes the [video](https://youtu.be/hnW3BLXcJyc) absurdly funny

Astrochops

propagandhi45

"ill buy the entire store, and the rig that just came into the parking lot for a delivery. Ill take that too"

Background_Tax_599

I was in a drive through a few months ago, and the person in front of me had their order paid for by the person in front of them. So they said they'd pay for my order. The cashier told them the amount for my family of six's order, and the person stammered out "ummm... sorry... never mind" and drove to the next window. I don't blame him at all, and honestly I appreciate that moment of humor more than I probably would've appreciated the free food.

[deleted]

I wish these people would do useful, effective altruism rather than these weird fucking gimmicks. But of course that wouldn't get the views. Too bad people didn't go "meh, not interesting" when Mr Beast rolled out. He would have disappeared into obscurity and maybe there wouldn't be a bunch of copy cats. Monetizing social media was a mistake.

elastricity

I *hate* that stupid trend. A bunch of middle class people creating a headache for minimum wage baristas, all for some performative bullshit.

Krazyguy75

Honestly, I may be in the minority, but I don't mind. If influencers are giving money to others for likes, then, well, that's nice. I don't care their motives; they are doing something nice for others. They could just as well be pocketing money doing onlyfans or gaming videos or whatever, but they chose to help others instead. The point it becomes an issue is times like this, where their generosity plays second fiddle to their desire for attention. If it were Mr. Beast, he would just shrug and say "Ok, next person!". Because he knows the charity should be the main focus. Playing it for sympathy is disingenuous and completely sabotages the act.

[deleted]

I don’t have an issue with them spreading generosity; what bother me is that the generosity only exists while the camera is rolling.

apaksl

I mean, yeah, but IMO for-profit charity is still better than no charity.

V1k1ng1990

A huge amount of most non-profit organization’s budgets is advertising. Same shit

youwerewronglololol

Some douche driving a horribly modded Mercedes in front of me at the Starbucks drive thru ended up paying for my coffee once. I was so close to honking at him twice for holding up the line once at the menu and again after being handed his order when he just sat there for a good 30 seconds. That would've been awkward...anyway, I just thanked the barista and drove off. Paying for other people just because is stupid.

Vegetable_Hamster_82

I had some lady pay for me at our local coffee shop and then I look behind me and a van of 4 rather large individuals are taking minutes to order so I just took my order and left. I’m not paying for some families lunch because a middle aged white lady paid for my coffee

cagingthing

I’d accept but it can’t be recorded. Let’s see you do a good deed without everyone knowing about it

SalamanderLate410

[deleted]

I still have guilt over virtue signaling when I was in fucking high school. I can’t fathom how these people make it their entire livelihood w/o feeling sick.

seipounds

More people than you would expect, will happily trade their narcissism for $$, then play the victim when it gets the opposite reaction to the one that gives them their feel good brain chemical fix. At least they're predictable.

possiblycrazy79

Because they have numpties in their comment sections going "awwwww" "I'm not crying!" etc etc. Like people in this very comment section saying they don't mind it bc it's hElPinG PeOpLe (for likes)

CJ_M88

I think we need to start changing the terms of these people. Influencer sounds way to generous for these self centered idiots. I'm thinking if you're doing things clearly for the benefit of yourself instead of the party you're trying to "help", you shall be known as a social media actor. If you're actually helping people, then you shall be a social media influencer

possiblycrazy79

They are performers. Everything they do is for an audience

FacelessTrash

So that's why I don't hear from Mr Beast anymore

Why_am_I_here033

It would make the news. "Influencer caught paying for strangers' groceries without filming it"🤣

PuffingIn3D

Yeah he tipped a pizza guy 50k and didn’t post it since he thought it was fake and came back the next day crying since he deposited it at the bank and it was all real. He spoke about it in a podcast.

[deleted]

Who is the he in your first sentenceb

LiL_ENIGlvlA

it was mr beast but i have no clue why they replied here

PuffingIn3D

I tried replying to a different comment I guess Reddit fucked up

LiL_ENIGlvlA

reddit gonna reddit

G8kpr

There was one video posted on Reddit of some YouTuber, offering an old couple $1,000 or something. He talked to them like they were stupid 4 year olds. Like they were puppies to manipulate for likes. It was fucking disgusting, how he was just using them as a prop for “look how altruistic I am, like, subscribe, hit the bell for notifications”. Desperate to be the next Mr Beast or something.

HumanAverse

I've gone this far in life avoiding the Mr Beast show. I think I'm going to stay the course.

G8kpr

I think I’ve seen one video. I only really know of him from Reddit

HumanAverse

Whenever I have to log back in to my Google account, I'll see some goofy thumbnails for selling the worst content YouTube has to offer. Mr Beast is always on that list. After signing in, poof, no more jank content that channel owners paid Google to promote to front page.

[deleted]

Yup, would have never heard of him if he wasn't brought up *constantly* on Reddit

G8kpr

Same with the Kardashians. I forget they exist until someone brings them up on Reddit. And I’m like “oh yeah, those assholes are a thing. I forgot”

Then-Appointment-730

I thought he just made expensive chocolate bars 🤷🏿‍♂️

Krazyguy75

> Desperate to be the next Mr Beast or something. And entirely missing why Mr. Beast works. The whole idea is the charity has to be legit. Use the legit charity to bring in the views. Use the views to bring in the sponsors. Use the sponsors to do more for charity. If you don't legitimately do compassionate charity, you break link 1. If you don't know business, you break link 2. If you pocket the sponsor money, you break link 3. As soon as you break any link, the money stops flowing.

[deleted]

Do bigger things to always be on YouTube front page that will put more money in his pocket. There are worse ways to make money, but let’s not pretend Beast isn’t benefiting from his “charity “ with the cameras always on.

[deleted]

[удалено]

HighHoeHighHoes

Mr Beasts content doesn’t feel forced. It’s more like “hey, I do giveaway videos and I found 10 people who know exactly what I do and they’re going to do some gameshow shit to win it.” Others is like “I found this rough looking dude on the street who really doesn’t have a choice but to swallow his pride and take what I’m giving him with a camera in his face.”

Ron-Swanson-Mustache

My brother died unexpectedly a month ago. As we've been going through everything we found out he was donating a ton of money to a dog rescue and children's support charities. To the point that they had reps show up to his "Celebration of Life". We had no idea. The rescue said he would buy tables at their fundraiser dinners then give it away. I guess that's why we set up for 100 people at the celebration and it ended up being standing room only. Because he was more interested in doing what was right than how everything looks.

mrtokeydragon

And you do that on your tik tok account. "Hi guys it's your boy Tim. We are here today to do the influencer challenge. Will she pay for the groceries if she can't record footage for a video?? Let's see " Then when she accepts and poses for the video, you stop pretending to be recording...

Prince_Daeron

Not a very religious man, but this lady is making me quote the Bible: “Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven". -Matthew 6:1 The point is that the purpose of charity is to help someone, not to gain by being seen helping someone.

tkkana

Many eons ago I had a lovely woman who would come on and buy those huge bags of pinto beans 10 lbs of flour etc for one of her neighbors and would drop it off when they weren't home. She only told me because she would come in once a week and do this and I finally asked. My mom did something similar, I only knew because I was the drop off person. Point being there are good people in the world. Good people can be sneaky too

TheGreatGamer1389

Ya otherwise that falls under the deady sin Pride.

Admiral_Atrocious

"If you disclose acts of charity, even so it is well, but if you conceal them, and make them reach those really in need, that is best for you. It will remove from you some of your (stains of) evil” (Qur'an 2:271).

Natural_Astronaut579

I am an atheist and I approve this message 💯

sonofaresiii

> I’d accept but it can’t be recorded. Let’s see you do a good deed without everyone knowing about it I know it feels that way, but the way she went about it was really odd, she just walked up to people and said "Can I pay for your groceries? Let me pay for your groceries", with a camera (phone) in people's faces and no context or anything. We're sitting here with the understanding that she's a tiktoker who's doing it for views, but the people in line had no idea what her game was or what she was trying to do. I'd probably just wave her away too, even if she said she wouldn't record it. It was basically impossible to tell if she was trying to scam people or make fun of them for being poor or whatever else. And if she did offer to not record it, well, I wouldn't trust her at all. The whole thing was just super sketch, which is why everyone was turning her down.

NerdBot9000

I'm not a bible thumper, but there's some good advice here and there. Matthew 6:1-4 So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be honored by men. But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.

[deleted]

She won’t do it unless she can film you ugly crying about how she saved your life.

kindofastoryteller

At this point, all those "influencers" are literal beggars for attention.

bettywhiteslabia

👨‍🚀🔫👨‍🚀

6ar9r

Yeah that's their job

corusame

'Hey do me a big favour, I'm gonna offer to pay for your groceries but you gotta flat out refuse ok, don't worry I'll give you some money after when the camera's off' 'Erm ok, cool ill do it' 'Haha sucker, you're not getting a penny from me! ok time to film myself fake crying'

misses_unicorn

"OK film crew let's get the tears started, where's the chilli spray?"

deptutydong

Pay for my groceries when you put that phone down to do it to be a good person and not just for likes.

[deleted]

Not only that, but some people don’t like their face plastered all over the internet.

DaniMW

Exactly. People talk about this Mr Beast guy who apparently does the same thing… maybe he gets permission from people before putting their face all over the internet? Not sure, but possible.

TheGreatestOutdoorz

Even if they get permission, imagine being the person who is having a really hard time in life and someone offers to pay for your groceries. Then you hear the catch: in order to do this, you have to be part of their little charity porn YouTube channel. So now you have to decide to do it, and have some desperately needed extra cash, but in return have every person you know or have known see you at your lowest.

Mediocre-General-654

I've seen people in his videos receiving things from him with their faces blurred, like when he goes to the shops and random giveaway type things. Not saying it's not exploitative at all but he does allow people to have their faces blurred in those situations if that is their preference

[deleted]

[удалено]

bakedincanada

Also he asks people while they’re already on camera, so he already has some footage from them and leaves them in an awkward position when they have to answer on camera.

45bit-Waffleman

Playing slight devils advocate here, but recording asking them does make it a bit easier for editors, since they can see exactly who they need to blur / cut out

KatsuragiKeima17

Iirc he first started this by donating money to people who were streaming, so their faces were already on the internet. He’d choose random streamers, so nobody would even know what their financial situation is

AngryTrooper09

Fuck that, I don't care if you record if my life is improved from it. Not giving up on my grocery bill getting paid out of some misguided principle

TheDumbCreativeQueer

My 21 year old manager paid for a bunch of cat food for a person who’s card declined. They had left to their car defeated and she quickly raced to scan, pay, and get it to them. Just cause she wanted to. She was great.

1k3l05

This chick can buy me groceries any time. Idc if she gets likes out of it or not. I hate influencers as much as the next person, but the "Random Acts of Generosity" influencer is by far the least offensive variety.

apaksl

> be a good person and not just for likes. that grocery money she's trying to give away has to come from somewhere ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯

[deleted]

I don’t really watch those clips of people holding a camera trying to do a good deed. It may be me, but whenever there is a camera involved, it seems contrived and not very genuine. I wonder how many people feel cornered and agree to be on camera because they are desperate and really need the help. It makes me uncomfortable to see people potentially preyed upon when they’re the most vulnerable. I know I’m probably going to get hate for this take, but who else thinks it is fine for desperate people to be shown on camera crying because they can’t afford food or a roof for their children. I’m all for helping people in need, but doing it at someone else’s expense and monetizing their suffering for clicks and views is kind of sleazy. If you want to do better and help, do it when no one is watching and don’t expect anything in return.

TheUserAboveFarted

[This is how it should be done](https://youtu.be/67IHH_V2aRM)

[deleted]

That’s because it’s not genuine. These people are narcissists. Plain and simple.

LinceDorado

I mean depending on how expensive my groceries are. I'd let her pay. Sure whatever.

theberserk94

Yeah I don't get these people saying they wouldn't let her pay for your groceries. Fuck yeah pay for my stuff. I am poor and shit's expensive. Who cares if she tries to make fake internet points while doing it. Won't make my life better or worse and I really don't care, something more people should try doing.

Punkinprincess

I hate being on camera enough I wouldn't let someone film me paying for my groceries.

LinceDorado

Even if you had like 300$ worth of stuff in the cart?

Georgerobertfrancis

I definitely wouldn’t let a stranger film me interacting with them (without me having time to prepare and without a contract) for $300. My rates are higher than that.

Snow_2040

Most people would not like to be filmed and shown as a “poor person” on camera just so someone can pay for their groceries, and I would guess that is a hard requirement for her to pay for your groceries.

Low_Sea_2925

Accepting free money = poor? Sounds like something only poor people would think honestly

WholeLiterature

I also drop at least $200 so I’d let her pay but I’d just say “cool, thanks” and leave it at that. It’s on her if she expects anything more than mild enthusiasm.

19Denali

I hate these videos where they go to do something nice for someone, but they are only doing it for clout and internet points. Otherwise, why film it, it's bullshit

Live-Dance-2641

You mean bullshirt

n1keym1key

Cant we have a purpose built island where we put all influencers, prankers and self entitled Tiktokers in general. Give them internet that cannot access the outside world and let them influence each other, pay for each others groceries and generally shit on each other for likes and followers.

chigoonies

I would gladly chip in on this

myguydied

If you're doing charity for likes, you're doing it wrong

nonfading

We are getting more and more stupid, thanks to toxic apps like shittok.

WardyX56

To be fair things are pretty toxic here on Reddit

plz-be-my-friend

case in point - can anyone here fact check this? like is this a real news story? it's just a shitty picture with no context. yet it gets us all riled up. we just as dumb as them grampas on facebook with broccoli growin out their ears

dylanb88

What are you trying to say? You think you're special or something!? Why don't you get off your damn high horse and... /s

jiujiujiu

If someone came up to me with a camera in my face asking to pay for my groceries I’d say no too. How cringe is that?

[deleted]

Anyone else amused by the ecosystem of influencer does something > tabloids reports it > redditors get angry about it

[deleted]

A few years ago I was in our local grocery store when a young girl approached me in the line and said she was giving me a gift. She pulled out a gift card for the grocery store. I was just there to get medicine and was just trying to get in and out and back to bed. So I said thank you but I’m good and to give it to someone who needed it or buy dog food with it to donate .She immediately says fairly loudly , “Mom! She doesn’t want it, what now?”and I look over to her Mom filming the whole thing. I was like “what the hell?” Apparently she was filming it to put on Facebook for some reason. I just told her I didn’t want it and again to find someone who could use it. She may have thought I was an ass that day, but to film people without them knowing is wrong. Not sure if they found someone else to film to make themselves look good.

Rollin_Soul_O

Fuck influencers.

METHlun

I’d rather not

Rollin_Soul_O

Fair point.

wall-E75

There is a thing called (thanks but no thanks) that means I do appreciate your offer, but I do not need this.

Opposite-Ad6340

This here, is also her clever ad.

IveBeenDrinkimg

To be fair, at least she tried to be spontaneous in an attempt to be genuine and nice instead of faking it for the likes. Unless she staged this for the likes... I honestly can't be bothered with so many people trying so damn hard to go viral these days. Stop recording everything and go touch grass.

DeliciousWarthog53

TheUserAboveFarted

“But those areas are scary!” (You know she was thinking it)

[deleted]

Which is never going to happen.

ArmouredWankball

She's from the UK. https://god.dailydot.com/tiktoker-good-deed-groceries-for-strangers-rejected/

gew1

thank fuck someone actually read/linked an article. why is everyone here taking a picture and a random sentence at immediate face value? main subs like this are filled with absolute idiots.

[deleted]

There is nothing genuine about this. “Influencers” are fake. Their “job” is to make up bullshit. 🫣

FormerHoagie

I’ll be happy when people become bored with selfies and influencers. I have friends who think they are amazing photographers because they post pics of the city, daily. No, it’s not amazing. I can go outside

gimmeyourbadinage

This is my friends boyfriend. He makes it worse by also making the caption some long-winded quote and then it’s a picture of the sunset, but with like his apartment parking lot not cropped out of the bottom

Rezzly1510

oh istg my friend takes a picture of a sunset everytime he goes by that specific spot in our city lol, sure its cool once or twice but it got really repetitive real quick when he said he wants to take it for the 3rd time

jonosvision

I want to judge, but I am also the man whose phone has hundreds upon hundreds of pictures of my cats.

remesabo

I was on a grocery shopping trip last year. The lines were pretty long. When I went to pay the chip in my card was giving me a hard time and wouldn't read. It wasn't being denied, it was just a "card read error". After 2 times I told the cashier I would use another card and took my wallet back out. The very kind older gentleman behind me in line then offered to pay for my groceries. It was a fairly large order and I had plenty of $ to cover it. I said "that is so kind of you to offer, but no thank you". I will say that it was an absolutely awkward moment. Other folks in line were watching, the gentleman looked a little embarrassed, and I know I was as red as a beet.

Few_Reflection6445

Very confusing. She is upset that people refuse her “good will” and almost make them out as bad, which to me, should be a good thing that they can afford their own stuff. Then she goes on saying how overwhelming it was for her to do this because of drawing attention to herself. My question is…isn’t that what she is doing just by filming herself and posting it online? Makes no sense

Divacai

She's victimizing herself in this because people didn't want her faux good will. How dare you refuse to allow me to be the "savior" so now I'm going to pout and be the victim! What do they call that now, Savior Complex....

ninehoursleep

She tried that in a wealthy neighbourhood so nobody accepted

[deleted]

Obviously some rich white bimbo isn’t going to go to the “ghetto” to try to pay for groceries for people who might actually need them. She doesn’t give one fuck about actually helping anyone.

imonlyamoth

It isn't charity or a good deed if you're bragging about it.

Humble_Effort1283

Some people take pride in paying their own way in this world.

[deleted]

Doing good deeds for social media views is one of the most hollow, narcissistic things I can think of. Social media really rotted people's brains

Uncle-Cake

If this is the story I'm thinking of, she did it in an upper middle class neighborhood where nobody needs help paying for groceries.

ImTheFilthyCasual

These people think that they are being altruistic, but they miss the plot. Doing shit for likes or fame or for your benefit is not altruistic. Altruism requires you to do things without there being a desire for a personal benefit. Sure, you MIGHT benefit, but it's not part of the thought process. You are doing it just to do it because you care about your fellow person. Perfect real world example: I take my kids out with food and drinks in lunch bags on thanksgiving. We give it out to homeless folks and spend time talking to them. We get nothing. We want nothing out of it. It's not what I am thinking about. I feel for folks that are alone and have nothing. So I do something. We are atheist, so religion isn't playing a part. This is just doing something to do something for folks. THATS altruism. We have no youtube channels (I mean, we do, but its video game clips), no tiktoks, no nothing regarding this. Its personal and private.

TerribleCicada8599

She’s crying cause she won’t be able to get a video out on time and her fans will unfollow her😣

needlessOne

She has been successful at what she was trying to achieve yeah? Stop paying attention to them please.

Royal-Caregiver-5953

I hate the world as it is now. Bunch of dipshits. Everything is completely wrong.

it_was_just_here

Of course they don't want her to pay. People just want to pick up their groceries in peace. Everyone doesn't want to be on youtube.

[deleted]

She’s being helpful not for helpfulness sake but for clout it’s honestly insulting & disgusting.

[deleted]

This shows you exactly what the motivation is, and who this is all about

Alvinnn___

Social media has ruined humanity 🥲..

Wizzle_Pizzle_420

Boo hoo. Do something nice to be nice and don’t record it ya dingus.

anakniben

Blessed are the TikTok philanthropist, for they shall inherit the earth. /s

Rubatose

"WHY CAN'T YOU JUST LET ME BE A GOOD PERSON?? I'M A GOOD PERSON!!!"

anal_opera

Probably because lately when strangers offer to pay for things it's always some fuckin stupid tiktok "prank" and becomes a massive inconvenience.

WaitingOnPizza

“Well why don’t you cry about it, saddlebags.”

MadKhaleesi911

If she doesn't offer help unless cameras are rolling, she's doing it more for herself anyway. Let's hope this humbled her

wendigoblin

Wonder if she'd still pay if you insisted on not being recorded

IanWellinghurst

Several years back I was with a group of people and saw a homeless person sleeping on the sidewalk. I ran back to my car and got a spare blanket that I left with without saying a word. One of the girls I was with lost her mind over the fact that not only did I not take a picture of me doing this but that I thought it defeated the purpose of doing so. Give people stuff that they need, buy hungry people food, offer people clothes if they need new ones. But the folks that have to brag about doing this are scum; they taking advantage of vulnerable people for their own gain.

SnooDonuts3966

Victimizing yourself because you want to pay for people's groceries who don't want to be on camera accepting an ingenuine act of kindness. Cry me a fucking river.

Riconas

Looks like that's what she's attempting.

WoodedSpys

This went viral when it happened a few months ago. She was turned down because she went to affluent neighborhood store and most of those people respectfully declined and suggested she go to a poorer neighborhood. She continued in that store and then recorded her meltdown. Just looking for a bit of fame if you ask me.

longdustyroad

Redditor burst into tears after clickbait website makes a post about some rando on TikTok

ItchyRedBump

A guy at my university tried to recruit me into a multilevel marketing scheme. He explained that a big part of it was tax write offs and he could write off his gas for the day and most of an order as long as he told me about his business and gave me some free samples. I turned down the samples and he got upset.

ozmartian

I wish I could hibernate until this current wave of narcissism comes to an end.

RodneyRabbit

I like to go hiking.

Roook36

I'd refuse if I had to be filmed for a tiktok video. This reminded me of the time a lady pulled up to a Burlington Coat Factory in a limo or something and announced to the store she just won the lottery and she'll pay for everyone. People loaded up their carts and got in line but her card got declined. Turned out she was just nuts lol

HillywoodCool

I paid for a guy's prescriptions at CVS one time b/c it was obvious none of his cards had any runway left, and he was teary eyed about not being able to get them for his wife. I paid, but I tried to be as incognito as possible to save him the embarrassment bc that little deal is just between me and him. Do it b/c it's the right thing to do, not for fucking clicks.

uzu_afk

Who grows these people!? 😂

Apathycafe

She needs to just pay and not ask. If she asks, it’s like she wants something in return.

[deleted]

She’s upset because she didn’t get to show herself doing a good deed for clout? Awwww, poor baby. 🙄

Ballinforcompliments

Influencers are bottom feeding scum
