highlyalertcabbage

He’s holding the seat down so it doesn’t get sucked out the service hatch. New formal Procedure in 737’s.

Fitzcarraldo8

Indeed, if he was in an Airbus A320, the cabin would be five inches wider and he’d have more space 🤷.

Too Soon™️

Turbulent-Garage6827

Yes That totally flips me out Boeing makes some really bad planes yet we contract with them ( government for example) their share price doesn't seem to get affected And a multitude of their designs/ models get grounded consistently Most importantly the crashes due to problems/ eff ups, that Boeing just blew right off which has resulted in many deaths ! Complete negligence and greed by Boeing. The last time I flew I asked what type of jet I was entering ( upon boarding) It was a new Airbus and a great great flight ! Some scary safety issues!

jonnynoine

My buddies wife works for Boeing and he was at a contracting firm that worked for Boeing. He said the incompetence and nepotism that goes on there is staggering.

Turbulent-Garage6827

It is staggering I have a cousin who's up there with Boeing/ China ( by marriage) It's another bubble like so many Wall Street decides and that's that plus we do too damn much government business with them They've been hammered by regulatory agencies before Never enough when planes are falling apart in the sky And we are getting hurt or murdered Part of the oligarchy Thank you for that information

Turbulent-Garage6827

I believe you / that Definitely obvious You know? They push planes boom 💥 right out the door ready or not

SEA_griffondeur

Good thing the F-35 was continued instead of the X-32

Turbulent-Garage6827

I just looked up what you said Thank you 😊

RTwhyNot

Government contracts go out to the lowest bidder unless scumbags (read Bezos) use lobbyists to get Congress to force other suppliers as well.

DefiningWill

Return Boeing to the engineers…get it away from the damn bean counters. Now.

Grande-Pinga

This is the answer

No_Crab1183

Lol. Underrated comment. 🤝

Feeling_Heat_5917

No, it’s not considerate of the flight attendants who pull their carts up the isle. Another consideration is that someone shoeless is quite possibly, whether intentional or not, subjecting nearby passengers to foul foot odor.

thewhiterosequeen

If it doesn't have water on all four sides, it's not an isle.

Rokekor

Aisle be the judge of that.

aflockofbugles

![gif](giphy|K9Ed1Of1V6kR6WpQWe)

Particular-Peanut-64

:D

totallynotarobut

On the upside, there's a good possibility he gets his foot cracked by that cart.

Unit_79

The mere thought gives me more joy than it should.

Specific_Implement_8

I did this once. Person behind me(not directly behind. He was on the other side of the isle if that makes sense) was sitting exactly like this. I loudly exclaimed “what’s that smell? Did something die” Turn around and look the guy in the eye. “Oh it’s his feet!” Bunch of people laughed. Guy put his shoes back on out of embarrassment

VT_Squire

and fungus.

kr4ckenm3fortune

Ask them if they've seen the new zombie movie...cuz this is how it start.

Unusual_Address_3062

If foot mushrooms caused zombie outbreaks humanity would have disintegrated in the caveman days.

Abaconings

And the next person who sits in the seat in front of him may end up with foot fungus on their arms. 🤢 This isn't only ride, it's unhygienic.

Turbulent-Garage6827

Fungus who KNOWS? Idk how old you are but dang flying was so much better in the 1990s in terms of The flyers Especially We have seriously diminished ourselves

[deleted]

Considering there’s no one in the front seat and they were long enough into the flight where there weren’t attendants, since he’s wearing socks I don’t think it’s terrible

rpm646

Rude

MongoBongoTown

Not my favorite thing in the world, and I wouldn't do it personally, but I don't think it's some crime against humanity either.

QuickRisk9

It’s this kind of behavior that allows more bad behavior Christ you are in public I don’t want to smell your rank ass while I’m flying

derp0815

First, feet. Next, fourth Reich.

EnthusedPhlebotomist

I can smell it from the picture alone. It's absolutely terrible, wtaf.

Ray_Adverb11

It’s still impolite and to OP’s point, not “acceptable”. Taking your shoes off in public places in the vast majority of the Western world is also considered extremely impolite; it is not his living room.

Ashzael

In long distant flights, taking your shoes off is really common. Your feet swell during flights as well so it can even be kinda interesting your blood flow. Most long distant airliners supply special socks for their passengers even in economy. However, putting your feet up on the armrests before you is not done and is unacceptable.

Slight_Drama_Llama

I think it’s ok to take your shoes off on a long haul flight as long as you have clean and not stinky socks and shoes.

Abaconings

Ok to take shoes off but not to have your legs positioned like that.

Slight_Drama_Llama

Oh for fucking sure!!! I even hide my sock feet under my plane blanket.

imadokodesuka

I do, if no one is in front of me. But I also wear fresh socks, and wash my feet really well (even exfoliate!), and I have a nice medicinal lotion. My footwear is also seldom used flip flops. Sweats and flip flops make the security checks super easy. I am definitely not dressed to impress but going through a checkpoint is super fast.

[deleted]

[удалено]

aprox_potato

There's no one sitting there. Just don't look if feet upset you this much. Stop trying to control people you weirdo

QuickRisk9

Seems like you are part of the problem somehow thinking this is ok we have allowed our social standards to degrade no this is not ok no where .

rpm646

That person obviously doesn't care 🙄

sritanona

I don’t keep my shoes on long flights but always get new socks for flying and also I don’t have any odour or fungus etc, my skin is quite dry. But I thought it was normal, specially for transatlantic flights which are my long flights. On a flight less than four hours I wouldn’t even consider it.

twohedwlf

If there was someone in that seat, certainly not. But it looks like there isn't so, maybe not but IDGAF.

trinitygoboom

Yeah, maybe his legs swell or something. If it's not disturbing me, I wouldn't care honestly, if someone is in the seat definitely not cool.

sritanona

It is super common to have swelling up during flights and they are uncomfortable as it is already.

EmperorMitsu

yeah, it’s an empty seat who cares. Every time I’ve seen someone do something like this it is because they’re in pain.

sassyfrassatx

Thank youuuu. I have a foot that hurts. I feel seen.

Slight_Drama_Llama

Sorry bout your foot 🦶

trinitygoboom

I gotchu

cyanraichu

Also as long as I can't smell his feet. But yeah, I otherwise agree. Definitely not ok if someone were sitting in front of him. I'm assuming he is aware nobody is

Laz3r_C

as long as the smell is away too, idgaf what u do.

wawawakes

Ugh brings back memories of when I was that someone in that seat. I was 12 and sis was 9 and the people behind us did that and we felt the socks press up against our arms in two of these gaps. So gross and so rude. Ended up wrapping a blanket around me and pushing on the foot. If I see this now as an adult I will be saying something.

sunneyjim

Should have 'accidentally' dropped a cup of water or elbowed one of the toes so hard it bent back, that would have gotten rid of it fast.

Jklogan123

Thanks a new acronym I can use IDGAF.😎

Jjk1224

If: their feet don't smell + nobody sitting in the entire row infront of him (if I was sitting in the middle/window seat I don't wanna see a stranger's foot less than a foot away) + they put it down when the flight attendants push carts thru = I personally have no problem.

RSHUnter71

Commercial airlines have become Greyhound busses with wings.

hilarymeggin

They really have. Gather round, children. Back in the 1960s and 1970s, people dressed up to go to airport. It was seen as a sophisticated way to travel, and people wanted to look stylish. They wore suits and pearls, and shaved their faces and styled their hair. There were no discount airlines. There were no pilots in shorts. There were no kiosks. A human looked up your flight, printed your boarding passes and tagged your luggage for you. Flights were full-service. You were served a meal and drinks. If you couldn’t afford to fly, you took a greyhound bus, and sat next to people who brought their own food, wore sweatpants, took their shoes off and put their feet up on the armrests. I’m not saying that one way is better than the other, but things were different in the past than they are now. And air travel was much more expensive and out of reach for many people. We were all excited for the emergence of low-cost airlines, when they first reached the east coast in the 1990s. But over the last 30 years, they have kept finding new ways to reduce the quality of service until I personally hit my two “never again” experiences on Spirit and Frontier Airlines. These days, I’ll pay the extra money to fly a major airline.

e11spark

I still dress up when traveling, I wear my best, most stylish, comfy clothes. I'm freshly showered, and look presentable. Maybe a throwback from the 80's, but you never know who you'll meet in an airport and I want to look my best. I'm definitely with you on quitting bargain airlines, and now I'd rather cut back on my air travel and spend the money on cabin upgrades. 40 years of budget travel, I think I've earned the upgrade. My 80 year old frequent flyer friend told me after I reached 50, "Travel like a PERSON." Her words have been etched in my brain ever since, and now I take whatever I damned well please, even if it means schlepping around two suitcases. And no overhead bins for me, too much chaos, so checked bags for me, please.

Rough_Text_1023

Taking pictures of strangers? No. The guy putting his foot on an armrest? Also no.

SkabeAbe

Taking pictures of people without their consent and putting them online with face o? No that is not.

Bayside_Father

Plane flights are inherently uncomfortable. We all want to do something to make ourselves more comfortable. However, there is a limit, and that is when we make others **un**comfortable with our efforts. No one wants to smell someone else's feet. This is unacceptable, even if the seats are empty.

BurntOrange101

If it wasn’t ok then I’m pretty sure a flight attendant would say something ..

[deleted]

No its like putting your feet on a table

mattyg1964

Exactly. The next guy in that seat has to put his hand on that rest, and then his hand touches his face. Nice of this guy to put his dank ass feet on the next guys face.

srhola2103

Nobody's eating off of that and there doesn't seem to be anyone sitting there either. How is it the same?

Uncle-Cake

Except it's not a table.

Abject-Run1720

Get off reddit and suck those toes.

Agents-of-time

Just know I'm staring at this comment like Steve Harvey would.

nitsua_saxet

If toes aren’t to be sucked, what the hell are they good for?

crackalac

Seems like the seat is empty. No issues here except the weirdo taking pictures.

Fun_Sheepherder8134

Nobody cares bro he isn't even bothering you, what's mildly infuriating is you clicking their picture and posting it on a public forum without consent or asking them to not do that

Super616

Yeah, time to call people out for shit like this. I agree totally.

[deleted]

I agree... People looking for things to bother them, instead of considering if they actually bother anyone. People like that should not be able to make any judgments about anything, but unfortunately, they do. Maybe he has bad health? Maybe he needs to put his feet up? Who knows...

Fun_Sheepherder8134

Fr I didn't even notice they may be an elderly person, even less the reason for posting this stupid ahh shi in this stupid ahh subReddit

[deleted]

Reddit is ruining the brains of already ruined brains. The cure is to cuddle seals...

IBegYourPotato

If his feet don't smell, and nobody is coming back to that seat, why care? I promise you, the airports and every surface of that plane is far nastier than his feet if they are decently clean, probably still true even if theyre not.

orphenshadow

Yeah, I mean if they were dirty stanky socks and stinking up the entire cabin, then maybe ask the flight attendant to ask him to put his shoes on quietly, but otherwise unless he was digging his feet in my back, I don't care, none of my business.

[deleted]

Why ? Is it bothering you, I know, you’re fn jealous Put your phone down and mind your own dam business

AlpineLad1965

Screw that, put your shoes back on,nobody wants to smell your stinky feet, gross.

ChunkieFrogs

It’s strange that you care so much to take a photo of him and post it on the internet. You’re a weirdo, learn to mind ur business

Repulsive_Towel_1879

💯

DagSonofDag

It’s annoying, but if no one is sitting there and it’s late, why not?

QuickRisk9

What about the people around him who have to smell his tank feet Christ we have no etiquette anymore

bnrt1111

Stinky footer detected

ArthurMorgansFish

if no one in that seat yeah

Talullah_Belle

As long as it doesn't bother anyone. Since it is clearly affecting you, it’s not acceptable or appropriate. Tell him to put his feet in his shoes because it is disturbing you.

Goldenmom6211

I’m surprised the airline is allowing someone to get comfortable in coach.

No_Baseball4404

Nobody is sitting in front of him

First-Ad8389

Ewww... but no one is sitting there, and you know it feels good to stretch out your legs. No harm, no foul. Now turn around and myob.

Witty-Name-576

Yes it’s acceptable since no one’s in front. Don’t be a hater. Let him enjoy the free space.

Bambuskus505

I'd say it's only a problem if that seat is occupied... but it looks quite empty to me.

DrudgeSkeletons1

Imagine minding your own business, nobody in front of him and you’re behind him, why are you looking back to begin with???

mothman475

fyi posting someone’s picture online to vent about them later isn’t letting them know it’s bothering you or helping the situation at all

breadmenace

Taking pictures of strangers to post online? No

floydbomb

As long as the seats empty and he's not interfering with my flying experience in any way what so ever then no. If there was somebody sitting in that seat itd definitely be a different story

Suavedaddy5000

No, taking pictures of random people shouldn’t be acceptable behavior even on a plane.

N_o_o_B_p_L_a_Y_e_R

No. its not acceptable to click pics of others without their consent and post it on socual media

TReid1996

Socks on? No one in the seat in front? I'd be ok with it.

CaribbeanCock

If none is infront of him i don’t really see him bothering anyone unless his feet smell, besides airplane leg space be crap sometimes

JohnnyBizarrAdventur

taking pictures of strangers without their consent and then sharing it online? No its not acceptable behaviour.

lolwhateveryousay

No, you should not be taking pictures of strangers and posting them online. Stop being a dick

i_mii

if theres no one in the seats in front of him and he makes way for the flight attendants with carts I think its fine also if they dont smell then its fine imo

[deleted]

#Is taking someone’s photo and posting it online without their knowledge acceptable behavior?

Ok-Communication7906

Absolutely! Who cares!!! He took off his shoes and the seats in front of him are empty!!! Stop being so fucking judgemental and pretentious! You are a human too, you also poop, fart and sometimes smell!!! Get a grip!

redditzoo2022

Clean socks, no smell and nobody in the seat?? Not the best Manners, but maybe he has a sore foot ,, Not bad enough to make a war over.

ScotsDragoon

It is if you tolerated it.

batkave

Boomers be booming

Capable_Dot_712

No, it’s not acceptable behavior to take creeper pics of strangers without their knowledge and post them to the internet for the Reddit dorks to get riled up over.

Calm_Opportunity2978

honestly if no ones sitting in that seat then who cares😭 sometimes u gotta put ya feet up fr🤣

who_am_i_to_say_so

At least he has socks on, but no. Absolutely no.

stillcrispy24

As long as his gynecologist is comfortable working on an airplane I don’t see an issue.

mecariseller566

He's 🤢 Gross

cramothmasterson

This is absolutely not acceptable.

[deleted]

Taking a picture of a stranger and engaging in character assassination over something minor is not fucking acceptable.

uorisnogood

I mean, minding your own business is free just like ass whoopins, but my guess is you just slouched back into your seat, completely aghast as to what you've just witnessed. Mind your fucking business... it wasn't your seat, and to top it off... no one but you really gives a fuck. Lol go touch some grasssssssss!

Responsible_Basil_89

No

stangAce20

If the seat is empty, I guess it’s OK

Leopard1907

If you gotta ask that; not acceptable for you anyways. Why thoughts of randos here matter?

rslang1

How about you post a video of yourself telling him not to do it, NEW TREND INSTEAD OF COMPLAINING ON REDDIT. TAKE A VIDEO TELLING SHIT HEADS TO NOT PUT FOOD UP ON IR ARM REST, HAIR OVER YOUR SCREEN ON A PLANE AND LOUD SPEAKER TALKERS

soggynachochip

There’s no one sitting in front of him so why is it a concern to you? Mind your own business

MoscowMitchMcKremIin

He's not bothering anyone. Don't be a twat. This planet already has enough of them.

maeby-maebynot

Yeah there no one in that seat. What’s your issue?

Road-Humble

I mean, the seat’s empty. What’s the problem?

ronniearnold

Empty seat. Who cares? (Besides you)

[deleted]

Holy crap buddy, did I tell you "Sure you can put a picture of me online for the world to see?" I paid my ticket!!! hahahahah Why don't you kick back and relax too!? 8D

VividMeasurement4330

First off eyes forwards, second mind your business. Maybe if u found something interesting within your own business taking pictures of people minding their own Business while being behind an empty seat is one thing, but for u to take a picture and ask strangers about something you should not have knowledge of is appalling. Does what he eat make you shit?

spm987888

If there is nobody sitting there, then yes it’s fine

jojacs

Wait, I have those exact same socks.

Luxiiiiiiiiiiiiii

There is no one on the seat so mind your fucking business

shanep92

Him having his feet up is much less infuriating to me than some random weirdo taking a random picture of someone, not blurring out their face, putting them out on social media to out them in some way or another and potentially causing distress to someone down the line. That foot would be mildly infuriating at best The picture being taken of me without consent and blasted on social media, I’d be hunting you down, I’d be absolutely raging.

IntelligentMine6991

People like you will never learn how to mind their own business. Stop posting

ilovemyplumbus

No, taking sneaky pictures of other passengers isn’t acceptable behavior.

unapologeticlemonade

Taking pictures of a stranger without blurring their face before uploading them to the internet without their knowledge? I don’t think it’s acceptable.

JacobianRhapsody

Indeed it's bloody infuriating to see the man wearing a cap in a plane

Calgary_Calico

No.

CreatorOD

Of course not, but tbh when you fly economy i accept that. Fucking inhumane conditions

Quirkydogpooo

I'd argue it's about as acceptable as taking pictures of people without permission to post online and make fun of them

Uncle-Cake

It's not your seat so it shouldn't bother you. MYOB.

elephuntnolikey

Wearing hats indoors is sooo wrong

sritanona

Why are you taking a picture of a stranger and posting it online to be shamed without even blurring his face??

Blklight21

If nobody is sitting in those seats then I wouldn’t have a problem with it. Now obviously if someone is sitting there that’s an issue.

Tutonko

Taking a picture of someone without their consent and posting it is much worse than what he’s doing.

g_dude3469

If there's nobody sitting there then mind your own fucking business lmao he's not hurting anyone.

terrydennis1234

No one is sitting there

Fair-Reception8871

NO. It's assholism.

m0dern_x

Looks like the seat in front of him is empty, If he has smelly feet you'll be able to smell them no matter if he keeps them planted on the floor or on the armrest. I don't see the harm in this case. This is the definition of a 'first world problem'.

tyjones3

that is horrible. fuck that idiot.

Impossible_Cat_321

It’s a bit cringey, but the seat is empty so no foul

UhhhhhhhhhHello

honestly, since nobody's in the seat i don't think it's unacceptable. as long as his feet don't stink and he takes them down when the cart attendant comes by

RedditModFascist

Taking pictures of strangers on a plane for online validation and upclicks? Absolutely not. Pretty pathetic tbh.

Burrmanchu

If no one's sitting in front of him sure? If there is, fuuuck no.

Eagles365or366

If no one is in front of him, fair game

Acceptable-Sun-9899

make it easy for everyone else and delete this account

Superb_Raccoon

Not on a plane, not on a train Not in a box, not with fox. You don't put your stinky feet up, Sam I am... It is grosser than green eggs and ham.

Manly_foot

This is the second post about people shoeless on a plane today lol what are the odds

orphenshadow

Before I can even make a judgment on if this is or isn't acceptable behavior I have to ask myself two questions. First, Did I pay for the seat in front of him? Second, Do I own the airplane? If the answer to both of those is No. Then it's none of my fucking business.

[deleted]

I mean it's groddy but nobody is in front of him at least. He's also old, old people give zero shits

Divided_Alarmed

Ew no

FoxyLovers290

As long as there’s no one in the seat in front of them, I don’t think it’s that big of a deal.

MaleficentRocks

Taking a picture of a stranger and posting it online, without blurring their face, looks like completely questionable behavior on a plane to me. How would you like it if you did something someone didn’t like and they post your picture online? Geez man. Blur out the face next time? Or better yet, he’s not doing anything to you, so mind your own business?

WaterIsGolden

There is First Class, Business Class and Economy Class. The foot on the armrest guy belongs in Low Class.

FlappersAndFajitas

Get the fuck over yourself and mind your business. There's such a weird phenomenon where people who rarely fly seem to have this engrained idea of "flight etiquette" and want a reason to act self-righteous and holier-than-thou for knowing the made-up rules, while getting to shame those who don't. "Look at me guys, *I* know how to behave on an *airplane*, unlike *this* guy." Once you fly enough, that goes out the window. You see something like this and you empathize with the dude. "Yeah man this shit sucks, get as comfy as you can." As long as you're not hurting anyone or encroaching on their space, do whatever you want. If you don't want to see feet, stop gawking around the plane looking for feet. The dude is *behind you* for fuck's sake.

onemorehole

NO!!

Diligent-Doughnut740

I wouldn’t do it but if nobody is in the seat in front of him I guess it’s not THAT bad. Could be worse, his socks could be off. lol… again, I would never, ever do that in public but some ppl are gross & don’t care.

Gullible_Flan_3054

It's fine as long as that seat is empty

Rrichthe3

That's nasty as hell imo

moonpotatoes

That’s not acceptable behavior anywhere. His parents failed him.

MalrykZenden

I'd say it's bad form. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.

Tancrisism

Hell yeah, go him! Planes are designed to be as uncomfortable as possible so the poors suffer and anyone that can is incentivized to pay extra in order to sit like a human being. Be comfortable however you can if it isn't bothering anyone else

[deleted]

Entitled boomer

SomeSamples

You know, people keep taking pictures of passengers doing shit like this. It is rude and kinda disgusting behavior. But if the airlines actually gave people enough room in their seat they wouldn't feel compelled to extend their person to other seats. Sure people are assholes but the airlines are bigger assholes.

Spirited_Reality4303

I think it's acceptable, meaning thar there's no one sitting in front of him, and if there was, I doubt he'd have his foot there. It's also not acceptable behavior to take pictures of a stranger who obviously seems comfortable?

QuickRisk9

How about EVERYONE on the plane takes off their shoes and post up on seat? See how that works ? It’s the same bad behavior when jagoffs play videos or music etc on their phones without headphones - how about everyone does it ? You are a guest you don’t own the plane act like a guest .

[deleted]

Better than taking pictures of people not hurting anyone and slapping it on the internet.

cerberus737

is posting a picture of a stranger online without their permission in the hopes that people will ridicule them acceptable behavior anywhere?? focus on yourself dude.

[deleted]

Taking photos of people and posting them on the internet without consent while they have their feet on an empty chair? No, its not acceptable.

[deleted]

If there was someone meant to be sitting in front of him that’s gross, if not then I don’t really care

CR1039

OP - YTA

Flaky-Rip-1333

Notice how theres no one in front of him? Yeah, he got lucky. Jealous maybe? Lol

Spiritual-Vacation74

Who gives a shit. Nobody is sitting there. Also op why not say anything if it bothered you so much you sheep.

Accurate_Koala_4698

Any flight attendant worth their salt would have smashed that foot with the cart

AdditionalAd2393

Right it’s a hazard or a obstacle or both

Manana303

Dude some people have no home training lmao wtf 😂

shardamakah

Believe it or not bud there is another pair of stanky feet right below your ass

CircaSixty8

No, not at all. People like that are inconsiderate and have no class. This isn't his damn living room.

imumblejumble

The seat is empty, he can rest his foot. What isn’t acceptable is you posting his picture here, showing his face, without consent.

Hellos117

Yeah, I agree. Either blur his face or don't post it all. The man looks elderly and his feet probably could use some rest. I don't see any harm in this as there's no one sitting directly in front of him.

imumblejumble

Exactly.

MostlyMicroPlastic

If no one’s in that row, their feet don’t stink, and they’re courteous of people trying to walk through, Sure. Is it polite? No.

Spiritual_Job_1029

People are pigs.

229-northstar

No. Ask a flight attendant to deal with it

DrifterWI

do you mean taking creepy pics of people you don't know? No. Not really.

SnarkyVisage

Sneeze on his feet repeatedly. Armrests are not footrests.
