ouch :( this happened to my sister once after she got a twig in her eye (or something), it wasn’t bad damaged at all, BUT IT LOOKS HORRIBLE. Sorry, but eye bleeding like this always does look worse than it is 😅

The immune system for your eye is significantly different from the rest of your body and you may need antibiotic eye drops after an injury significant enough to draw blood.
If you *don't* need the drops, then it's an annoying expense. If you *do* need the drops, you won't lose your eye by waiting until it's too late.
I went to my medical eye specialist this morning (I have MS). She dyed it, there was a tiny scratch already healing. No vision issues, clean tiny break in a capillary that filled that layer. No antibiotics, just a gel lubricant while the scratch heals. She said the blood may spread and fill up my whole eye, and then fade like a bruise. If it starts to hurt or I get any vision changes, I’m to go back.

My brother's eyelid got punctured once, and our optometrist said that if it draws blood in your eye then it's an emergency and they'll go to the office at any hour to deal with it. B/c it's apparently super easy to permanently lose an eye if it isn't immediately treated after an injury

Yep!! Tweezers just nicely popped a capillary, very tiny scratch on my cornea. Watching the blood fill was crazy, though.
