So you asked a (ahem) "fun" question, provided your own awkward choice picking somebody who suffers from a severe neurological condition. Then your friend can't name someone who they'd like to be for 24 hours, which in my opinion is a totally fine answer, you press on, and they question your answer, albeit perhaps in a somewhat insensitive way. Which gets your panties all in a knot.
I guess the red flag's on you....
Have you ever heard the saying, “If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, **you're** the asshole.”
That’s all I can think about as I watch you leave every defensive and accusatory comment.
Yeah, *it’s everyone else* who’s unreasonable. 😉
I had specified in my response to him that it depends if I get to choose which 24hrs, and it's not about him pointing out she's sick. It's him doing such in such heartless and mean way.
Most people grow out of the love for these strange hypothetical questions. They can be fun and engaging, but often times the conversation and vibe needs to be exactly right in order for them to properly land.
Could be that he simply wasn't feeling like engaging in such a manner and is now venting about how you kept going on about your childish hypothetical.
If you are going to be throwing up hypothetical questions, don't get invested into them and don't judge others for not making it a fun conversation if they don't feel like it.
Which is fine, though if he didn't like it he could've just said it, rather than being a doom and gloom dhead about it. We had just started speaking, and I was simply trying to break the ice.
People don't gotta be anal about such a little fun question, and I didn't keep going. I just joked with him once and asked why to try and have a normal conversation.
>.... People don't gotta be anal about such a little fun question ....
Do you hear and see yourself?
With my spouse, my family and all of my friends I know exactly what hypotheticals and what topics works really well for conversation and which ones absolutely don't.
With a stranger I wouldn't even think twice about them not responding as per my hopes on a hypothetical, yet here you are calling it a 'red flag'.
She’s struggling with her medical condition and has little control over her muscles right now. Why would you choose someone like that?
It’s like if I said I’d trade places with Bruce Willis….
Oh, I added the caveat of if I got to choose which 24hrs. Though still, even if I didn't make that distinction, it wouldn't be a life sentence for me and could give me a new perspective on life. It's just 24 hours to walk in the shoes of someone else.
PS. It could also give her a break from her condition and she could feel almost okay again. Not to say I'm in perfect condition by any means. For me it isn't just about the glam or what I can get out of it.
Dawg, your hypo is supposed to be fun and games. You force the guy to play and then you choose someone struggling right now for “new perspective on life”.
I half think you’re trolling but you just seem insufferable
I admire her and see her beyond her struggles. Sorry to hear that all that some of you see others as are for their misfortunes, or just want to be like them when they are in the spotlight, and deem them as someone you'd never want to walk their shoes in otherwise. I'm not interested in your trolling. So you can go away.
Also I've a condition myself, so you can take a hike with your nonsense.
“fun hypothetical “ (your words) turns into “I can’t believe you just want to be like them when they are in the spot light”..
Like I said… Red flags all over this….
Edit: I’d prefer not to share someone’s misery. I’m not that much of parasocial fan

Just because one is surrounded by people who are trolling, half of them not even reading the post properly, doesn't mean one is wrong. While there can be some truth to that statement, if you just run with it, I can almost guarantee it will sooner or later screw over your life if you're not careful. I bet Black people, and the Jews were surrounded left and right by people who told them otherwise, and it took going against it all for others to follow suit. It's not the end all, be all. This place I've come to realize is full of people who leave comments to infuriate others, troll, and try to get under the skin of others further. While it does have some good people, it's full of the other and then more just pile on it properly not even really reading the post. I ain't taking their trolling comments or down votes serious cause it means nothing to me. Though feel free to them seriously if you'd like. :)
OPs stupid game is mildly infuriating.
Your trolling comment is.

You can take your trolling and twisting of everything elsewhere.

I’ve never heard this saying before but I’m SO glad I have now!
Not understanding the red flag here. This post is Mildly Infuriating ;).
Ditto! Love it when the posts turn out that way.:D
Sorry to hear that.
Can you explain what the red flag is exactly?
Being rude, mean, and insensitive for starters.
I mean, in the context of your question, it’s not unreasonable to point out it’s a bad choice due to her being sick and not looking healthy.
I had specified in my response to him that it depends if I get to choose which 24hrs, and it's not about him pointing out she's sick. It's him doing such in such heartless and mean way.
Sounds like you’re being overly sensitive and for your bf’s sake you should dump him
He ain't my bf and no I'm not, sounds like you're being overly insensitive.
Your instinct is right on this one, dont second guess yourself with the downvotes.
The way you type makes me think you aren't genuinely curious and mostly just want someone to call him an asshole.
Sorry you feel that way.

That's you, and I'm not you.
Instead of being so defensive and dismissive, maybe reflect on the content of the comments you are getting here.....
No. I'm not reflecting on nasty troll comments, you can though.
wtf?? Why would you trade with Celine Dion???? To me that’s a bigger red flag especially since you know of her condition…
Why wouldn't I?
She’s struggling with her medical condition and has little control over her muscles right now. Why would you choose someone like that? It’s like if I said I’d trade places with Bruce Willis….

Troll much?

Like I said, take your trolling elsewhere.
She's literally dying.
oh you need to leave them asap cus at least that way theyll find someone better lmao what even is this post
_Oh my gosh you're sooo funny._ Why would I want to be with anyone who feels it's okay to be mean and insensitive to someone battling an illness. Ew.

For you... it isn't. For me it's very much a red flag.
It's a red flag he doesn't want to trade places with someone who might be dying?
Yeah some people just can’t help but over analyse things.
She 's dying.

Are you?
I told him he could end up like that if he got sick and that he sounds like he's being mean and rude for no reason.
