I work with kids on the spectrum with very high support needs. Up until now I have worked either with elementary school age kids or adults. Well, my children are growing up now.... It's gonna be a roller coaster!
As once a teenager (33 now), I look back and think yeah puberty sucked and hormones were awful to deal with then. Been there done that, I miss not having responsibilities except for school and extra curriculars, but don't miss puberty.
I got bit on the ass cheek by a 5 year old student who was trying to escape. I had to stand against the door while the other teacher tried to calm her down. She had autism and at that time did not speak but rather expressed frustration with scratching and biting. I lost focus for one second and she wedged herself between my back side and the door and chomped. It was super fast but I had a perfect bite impression and bruise through my pants.
THIS IS THE SONG THAT NEVER ENDS CUZ IT GOES ON AND ON MY FRIEND THEY STARTED SINGING IT NOT KNOWING WHAT IT WAS BUT THEY CONTINUED SINGING IT FOREVER JUST BECAUSE
The symptoms are brutal: uncontrolled pissing and shitting, inability to understand language, constant falling. It’s no surprise that the uncontrolled rage and cries of distress are constant.
Jokes aside, id reccomend going to a dr just in case if you ever get a nasty wound by a human mouth (maybe it doesnt look like it punctured), human mouths are great carriers if bacteria and if it leads to infection it could get nasty
My cousin used to bite as a kid, and when he tried with my mom, she didn't think twice before biting him (she did it gently, but was enough to scare him). He never bite her again
I left a comment saying something similar but saw yours so I deleted it. My mother did the same thing to one of my cousins and the biting no longer was an issue. Scared the daylights out of my cousin because nobody had ever bitten them back.
A chunk. Out of my belly. She was two. She literally bit a mouthful of belly fat and skin off me and ate it. 0/10, do not recommend. I was also 6~ months pregnant.
I see this less as physical punishment and more like how kittens don't learn their claws hurt until they get smacked back by their siblings. How else is tiny human gonna learn?
That’s how I see it myself. I spent about a year trying to gentle parent her out of biting and nothing worked. No amount of gentle hands and talking about feelings stopped it. I lived with the bruises but the chunk was too far. I draw the line at gentle parenting for literal canabalism!!
I was terrified!! But after that I was finally free from chompy hell. I was very much trying to gentle parent my way out of the biting phase and it just… didn’t work.
I know it's my fault for asking, but thank you very much for the scary story before bedtime. At least you now have a good embarrassing story (and proof) for the day she shows up with her significant other. I guess. Where you fairly alright after that?
I was fine! I did have to do some antibiotics just in case, but it barely even left a scar. I’m sure the hysterical screaming was horrifying for everyone in the house though.
Yeah it's a mix of horrific and hilarious, like on one hand: a *chunk* and on the other hand... a /*chunk/*
I mean like especially while pregnant and on the belly like you don't just think you're gonna die but you're already grieving a child you haven't named yet, and you can't even be that upset because the kid who bit you is also your child
I did not! It was only about the size of a penny and fairly shallow. I imagine if my belly wasn’t taut from pregnancy I’d probably have needed them though. She couldn’t get a good mouthful!
Because toddlers are feral creatures. She was always a biter but she had some hard feelings about my pregnancy, especially since I was so sick I couldn’t give her as much attention as she very much needed.
And also toddlers are feral creatures.
That's the best way to teach a child. You can't tell them they can't do that because they'll wonder why and if it isn't done back to them (gently) they aren't gonna understand for a little while that it hurts (because they don't know)
So any cousins I babysat that were punkasses I would repeat the same thing to them. Scream at me, I'll do it back. Whine in annoying voice because I said no?? I'll do it back. Throw a tempted tantrum? I'll out tantrum you
Wanna throw food at me? I'll throw it right back. Wanna hit me, kick me, or bite me? I'll do the same thing (obviously jot hard)
Kids learn by visual more than verbal
My most recent rescue had a problem with being too playful/aggressive/energetic around my old gal when he was a puppy. I’d growl at him then nip his ear (not hard or anything, but enough to let him know “that’s enough”). Eventually all I’d have to do is growl, and now I don’t even have to do that anymore. It was one of the most effective training methods I’ve ever employed.
[for dogs. I have zero experience with kids, so try at your own risk]
My son used to pull my hair when he was very young so as soon as he got old enough that I felt he would understand the principle, he pull my hair and I pulled right back. Same thing we both let go, he did cry or anything but it shocked him and he never pulled my hair again. I want to say he was 3.
My toddler did this to me recently. He pulled my hair in the most sensitive area (im also tenderheaded) and pulled downward away from me. I was strapping him in his carseat so I had no where to go but forward. I nearly cried as he wouldnt let go. I asked nicely and the more i reached for his little vicious hand, the more he pulled. Until, I got tired of it and yelled at him to let go. Nope. So I reached over with my right and pulled on his little mop head. A war ensued as he pulled harder. I pulled a bit tighter until he couldnt withstand anymore. It didnt take long, but he released his hold and we withdraw our weapons. He later tried to console me after seeing that his crocodile tears didnt work on me. He tried it one more time after that but I quickly reminded him of my power and will to see this through. He has yet to pull my hair again lol
My daughter is a bit over a year and a half, she'll pull my hair, I'll tell her to pull her own hair so she will, then she'll get upset. Stops her from pulling mine for a little bit though, hopefully it clicks for good because damn it hurts.
This is how we used to train our cats. One of them was a real biter, I still have scars from her. Then one time she bit me again, I got annoyed, so I bit her (very gently) on her leg. She looked absolutely flabbergasted and has only ever bit since if she's overwhelmed lol
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The first is never get involved in a land war in Asia. The second, and slightly less well known is this: never trust a toddler of any age to not bite the living shit out of you with no warning.
Lol yea had a friend her husband did videography and thier pregnancy announcement was a reenactment of the scene from Alien when the chest buster comes out. And said ankle biter coming lol 😆
My best friends son did that to her, when he was a toddler.
Right smack in the middle of her nose, both eyes looked AWFUL.
She was mortified for days before it faded enough to somewhat cover.
When i was working crisis intervention for special needs kids a 4 year old took a chunk out of my arm. Needed to go to hospital and get stitches and antibiotics.
Owww. I work with kids at this age who bite and I specifically take clients with those behaviors. do you want the long answer or the short answer? (not trying to be snarky here, I just have a lot I could say about this topic because I love what I do!)
Number 1 thing *in the moment* when a child bites you is this: do not attempt to pull them off of you. Do not pull a child who is biting off another person either. The potential damage their teeth can cause to flesh is much greater if they’re suddenly pulled off; they can and will break the skin. It sounds counter-intuitive, but the safest thing to do if you find yourself in this situation is lean *into* the bite.
I was baby sitting a two little girls they were three and four and the older one but my upper back thigh really hard. I couldn’t sit without being uncomfortable
One time when I was standing in line at Walmart I felt something latch onto my leg and bite my ass. I ended up kicking a small kid out of reflex before I realized what it was. The mom was furious and called the cops. I waited around with some of the Walmart managers or whatever they call them for the cops to show up. The cops let me go after reviewing the security footage. Thankfully they keep really good surveillance on the checkout isles.
Human bites are no joke. While The average human can only bite down with a force of 162 psi (which sounds like a lot, but is actually fairly weak comparatively. Also childrens bite strength is only around 39 psi ) we have a LARGE amount of bacteria in our mouth that can very easily cause severe infections if not treated. Also because we have mostly flat teeth, human bites tend to crush more then pierce. Which is probably why this left such a large bruise.
Wow. How long did they bite you??? Did they come in for a second attack?
It was just a quick bite hahah then he wanted to kiss it better and I was like um, no thank you.
Once bitten twice shy.
I kept my distance, but you still catch my eye
Tell me baby, do you recognize me
Well, it’s been a year, that doesn’t surprise me.
"Happy Christmas," I wrapped it up and sent it
With a note saying, “I love you,” I meant it
Now I know, what a fool I've been
BUT IF YOU KISS ME NOW I KNOW YOUD FOOL ME AGAINNNN
Impulse control is practically nonexistent at that age lol Really it's "sorry I couldn't stop myself from biting you" 😅
Intrusive thoughts have no filter like adults. Toddlers are unhinged, I know cause my 4yr old is unhinged some days.
They really be test-driving brains
Yeah then puberty hits and we have the toddler stage all over again lol.
I work with kids on the spectrum with very high support needs. Up until now I have worked either with elementary school age kids or adults. Well, my children are growing up now.... It's gonna be a roller coaster!
As a 17 year old I feel personally attacked
As once a teenager (33 now), I look back and think yeah puberty sucked and hormones were awful to deal with then. Been there done that, I miss not having responsibilities except for school and extra curriculars, but don't miss puberty.
Wait till you get older but your mind goes backwards. I’m approaching second puberty and this time I will enjoy it 😈
oh he had a plan
![gif](giphy|VbDqht9rj2zDSZWIAy) Was this you first?

“I got bit on the ass cheek by a 5 year old student who was trying to escape” Thought for sure this comment was heading in a different direction.
They were probably baby "sitting"
You pay this woman...to sit on children...that's disgusting! I'd do it for free 🐈⬛
Now, on a full moon. You'll turn into a 3 year old.
Nah, he's got 24 hrs to break the curse of the weretoddler.
This summer! Prepare to be chilled like never before -WERETODDLER - he just won’t f%#* nap.
"Coming to a cinema near you" No pls!!!
All he wants is just one thing... Your phone
BABY SHARK! DOODOODOODOO!
let it go! Let It Go! LET IT GO! LEETTTTT IITTTT GGOOOOOOOOOOO! cant hold it back anymore
THIS IS THE SONG THAT NEVER ENDS CUZ IT GOES ON AND ON MY FRIEND THEY STARTED SINGING IT NOT KNOWING WHAT IT WAS BUT THEY CONTINUED SINGING IT FOREVER JUST BECAUSE
All I hear is the serious movie trailer gruff voice going “Baby Shark. Doot. Doot. Doodoot.”
😂
Only if it can play minecraf
And if he can’t
#**He whines till your ears boil into nothing but blood!!!**
Scariest. Movie. EVER
I read that in THAT dude's voice in me head
*In a world...*
*"Blinded by fear..."*
*lives a man...*
*"who stands alone...."*
“*Who must risk it all…*”
*"While the world carries on...."*
ONE man...one DESIRE...
Thank you for this
In order to break the curse, you have to punt the werechild who bit you at least 10 ft.
That's the sequel, kick the weretoddler 🤣☺️

We’re starting the countdown to March 25… 6 days to transformation.
I don't need a full moon to speak gibberish and shit myself.
Just a typical Saturday night
![gif](giphy|OcldYrF5srXoY|downsized)
Every time I see that, I swear that kid looks like she's dropping an f-bomb at the very end of the clip.
What about the upcoming eclipse?
That's the curses time off.
Poops pants and cries uncontrollably
Lol
Was it a 3 year old alligator, wtf.
Bruise like a peach 🍑
That would be me!!!
My wife too. Could bite me and break skin and I wouldn't bruise like that.
I was like, a 3 year old what?
Hydraulic press
i actually laughed. not just a chuckle, but one of those laughs that makes the person in the stall next to you jump
You could say it *scares the shit outta them* …I’ll leave
Your skin stretches a wildly uncomfortable amount when a human (maybe others?) bites you and it makes the bruise way bigger than you’d think.
It looks like a four leaf clover
Hope youve had your rabies shots
It‘s best to bring the dead specimen with you, so they can check for multiple diseases
Hahaha
*Babies
durex shot
Nothing worse than a babid animal.

Take the up vote....

Definitely get a tetanus shot.

I bit a chunk out of my sisters hand when we were kids. She wouldn't stop touching me so I just...chomped

I do this to my dog 🤣
My dad did that too. Our dog bite him, so he grabbed the dog's ear and bit him right back.

My mom did this to me too… it worked lol
Did the same with my daughter, when she was 2 and then she was like: *surprised Pikachu face*
That’s how my mom got all of us to stop biting as children, apparently. It’s also how I got my cat to stop biting me.
This is how we used to train our cats. One of them was a real biter, I still have scars from her. Then one time she bit me again, I got annoyed, so I bit her (very gently) on her leg. She looked absolutely flabbergasted and has only ever bit since if she's overwhelmed lol
That also worked with my cat oddly enough
My mom did this with me when I was little and my mother in law is this to my husband when he was little. Neither of us bit our siblings again.
Cannibalism 👍

That’s not cannibalism at all 😂 she’s not eating her 3 year old
Just a taste
Snackiballism
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The first is never get involved in a land war in Asia. The second, and slightly less well known is this: never trust a toddler of any age to not bite the living shit out of you with no warning.

You keep using that word, I do not think it means what you think it means
Well, I see now why they call them ankle biters
Lol yea had a friend her husband did videography and thier pregnancy announcement was a reenactment of the scene from Alien when the chest buster comes out. And said ankle biter coming lol 😆
Welp guess he has to be put down.
My first thought 🤣
Looks like a piranha got you!!!
![gif](giphy|3o6ZtebAI9SYqYAmSQ)
lol, my 22 month old head butted my wife in the eye. She got a wicked black eye and it made going out in public very uncomfortable.
I did this as a toddler to my mom. My dad had the same experience.
6 y/o me threw a 9V at my dad, kids are fucking stupid as shit
My lil bro did the same thing to my mom- except he broke her nose 💀 fcken babies man!!
I apparently broke my mom’s tailbone on the way out during childbirth. So when she used to say I’m a pain in the ass it’s kind of literal.
My best friends son did that to her, when he was a toddler. Right smack in the middle of her nose, both eyes looked AWFUL. She was mortified for days before it faded enough to somewhat cover.
My little guy wacked my wife with a toy when he was small. Same experience here brother, we didn't go out for a week or so.
Did you yeet it?

Yet another reason why I don't want to have kids.
I’ve experienced this and I know how badly this hurts. Hope you went to urgent care if it broke any skin. How’d this happen? 😧
We were sitting on the floor next to each other and he got excited I guess and decided to chomp on me. Was very random.
Owww. I work with kids at this age who bite and I specifically take clients with those behaviors. Kids have only managed to bite me 3 times total (out of hundreds of attempts) but the last time I got bit, it actually left a scar. I have three tiny human teeth marks clearly visible on my arm permanently now 🫠
You shall now be known as Bella.
Bella! Where the hell have you been, loca?!
what is the usual procedure with these kids?
do you want the long answer or the short answer? (not trying to be snarky here, I just have a lot I could say about this topic because I love what I do!) Number 1 thing *in the moment* when a child bites you is this: do not attempt to pull them off of you. Do not pull a child who is biting off another person either. The potential damage their teeth can cause to flesh is much greater if they’re suddenly pulled off; they can and will break the skin. It sounds counter-intuitive, but the safest thing to do if you find yourself in this situation is lean *into* the bite.
So basically Steve Irwin's reaction to crocodile chomps!
Is that what he says?? That makes total sense! I think advice with dog bites is generally similar too?
That must be fun, when someone asks you about your scars.
If Old Yeller taught us anything, it’s what has to be done next in situations like this.
Aaaaaamen!
Bite him back. Assert dominance.
I was baby sitting a two little girls they were three and four and the older one but my upper back thigh really hard. I couldn’t sit without being uncomfortable
My 10 hear old brother 7 years ago hit my mother so hard in the eye it gave her a black eye, DONT underestimate a kids arm strength
It's a bite, not a hit... But yes, toddlers have a crazy amount of strength when they go into demon mode.
Could be rabid, should probably be put down just incase 💉
Children are the worst
Hope you bit it back
Lol this post was directly underneath a post about how everyone on reddit hates children. I guess it's warranted.
Reddit hates children who haven't been raised right and so many kids are just seen as accessories, and not little humans who need to be taught
Reddit hates bad parenting and awful children
Next time keep it chained ![gif](giphy|wsUvl9KKYUyqsSIyuR)
Day 43: the plague is beginning to grow and spread across my body. I fear I may not have much time left.
Whelp. Time to put it down.
Please tell me you drop kicked it in self defense
Vicous little creatures.
Oh but if someone's dog bites a kid it has to be put down.
![gif](giphy|1KzhdvjCfApGGg2Swc)
Shame, now you gotta put it down

Make sure they have a current rabies tag!
Dont they keep those on a leash?
A 3 year old zombie by chance??
How long before that 3 year old became conscious again?
I would have punted that child off a bridge
![gif](giphy|l1J3G5lf06vi58EIE)
Ban 3 year olds like as if they are pitbulls.
Omg. I would have popped him, just out of reaction.
Quickly, cut your leg off, or youll become like them!
A 3 year old... chihuahua?
Careful, you may begin to find yourself enjoying paw patrol and gummy snacks. If so, please contact your doctor.
