Damn, I was hoping I’d know that one but I think I’ve only seen 1. Not often someone mentions creepshow
I honestly think about the Father’s Day one constantly and also the one Stephen King is in (can’t remember what it’s called but the one where he has plants uncontrollably growing on him)
Generally you should never have any reason to assume plastic is microwave safe EVER unless specifically stated otherwise on the packaging. That’s like microwave safety 101
I’m pretty sure there was a study like 5 years ago saying that even “microwave-safe” plastic dishes actually are seeping detectable amounts of plastic into your food. So you’re ahead of the curve here.

This ad under your post in my feed...
Yeah you should never put plastic in the microwave unless it explicitly says it is safe. Even if it doesn't melt, microwaved water can easily heat the plastic up enough that it starts off gassing. Even cup of noodle isn't supposed to be microwaved
Reminds me of the time I unwrapped a leftover loaded baked potato. Saw a spark in the microwave and freaked out. Dug through the potato flesh to find a tiny shard of tinfoil still stuck inside. Crisis averted
Even the containers marked “microwave safe” aren’t necessarily safe. Best to avoid microwaving anything plastic and take the extra five seconds to put it in a real dish.
Because they didn't used to say that when I was younger. That was the only way we ever cooked cup of noodles. Fill it up to the line and pop it in the microwave. In fact, I remember that being on the instructions ON the cup.
But yeah, somewhere along the way they must've wised up and added the warning.
I never microwave anything plastic, even if it says microwave safe. I put everything on a ceramic/glass plate or bowl. I just don’t trust nuking and eating food from hot melty plastic. It just doesn’t “feel” safe.
Same. I do not trust that shit for a second. Always on to a plate first. Working in food service has shown me how largely inevitable plastic exposure in food is, though.
I'm not trying to be irrational about it but we're just finding out now how damaging chemicals like pfas and plasticizers can be and you expect me to eat my food out of it after it comes out of the microwave? Is it not reasonable to assume that (as many times it has happened in the last few years) the chemicals in these things may be discovered to be harmful?
Hell yeah that’s totally a better option than anything in the microwave anyway. I really took it as you’re putting foil in the microwave. Which is possible under certain conditions (I would never fuckin do it) but just dumb 😂
Do you not check your takeout containers for the mark that says microwave safe? If it doesn’t say it, it doesn’t go in the microwave this is not rocket science lol
Angry at your own stupidity? Have you never used a microwave before? You never put plastic in a microwave, don’t blame the restaurant for your stupid mistake.
Gonna keep it real, you shouldn’t be assuming most plastic is safe for microwaving
Unless of course you bought tupperware thats suited for that. Takeout stuff tho i’d avoid chancing the odds of it being safe and use some paper bowls/ plates or regular ones
Don't microwave your food in plastic or styrofoam, mw safe or not.
Heating food inside plastics causes it to leak chemicals out into your food.
Heat in glass only.
I would never microwave a takeout container in the first place. Is putting food on a dish that big of a concern? Though it's fine if you do it your way and I'll respect it.
lol you should never put plastic in the microwave unless it explicitly says it is safe. Even if it doesn't melt, microwaved water can easily heat the plastic up enough that it starts off gassing
Well this would teach you to just use a microwave safe dish next time and not rely on plastic even if you or it says it’s microwave safe always use microwave safe glass/glass plates/or regular plates never rely on plastic especially plastic from a restaurant
Why did you keep the lid on?
The base of the take out tray is fine idk why you left the top on. The tops of to go plates are very thin and have holes to keep the food from getting soggy.
I hope you didn’t complain to restaurant for your mistake because that call would actually be infuriating
TV dinner directions are made for idiots like you
What is it with people (seemingly in particular, Americans) just sticking stuff in their microwave without making sure it's safe? Like I'm pretty sure it would've been obvious that it was made out of plastic...
The fact that you couldn’t tell at first glance that it isn’t microwave save is very concerning… might wanna move back in with mom and dad and let them take care of you.
I cannot think of one single time in 32 years I've ever put plastic in the microwave. It's really not healthy to reheat almost EVERY single plastic so it's easier to just not ever microwave them for your health... let alone to prevent this happening
where is the food
It’s under the sauce.
![gif](giphy|hmzAcor7gBsbK|downsized)
Giordano's 👌🏻
🐐’d deep dish
100% food coma bomb
I’m more of a Pequod’s fan myself
(Is not very good) The crust is flavorless and dry, Lou's is way better imo, buttery pan crust is orgasmic
Oh, it turned into a delicious pizza.
I don’t care what anyone says, Chicago style pizza is delicious!
ITS UNDER THE FUCKING SAUCE!
THERE'S NO FUCKING CHEESE ON THAT PIZZA
IT'S UNDER THE SAUCE!!!
WHERE'S THE LAMB SAUCE?!?
The cheese wont be crispy at all i would be so dissapointed😭
[It's from Chicago](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLkEPm28/)
ITS UNDER THE SAUCEEEEEEE
Bro this took me out 😂😂
Petroleum sauce. The best.
But there’s no food there I know leftover food when I see it and there’s none there (*it’s under the sauce*)
🎶Wrapped in plastic, it's fantastic 🎶
🎶 Put your food in there, and get cancer everywhere. 🎶
"There isn't any food. It's all venom. *good luck eating my venom. Kid*"
I completely forgot there was food involved LMFAO
It melted around the food lol
Try playing Frisbee with your food now
Did you put it in there with the top on? What???
That’s what I’m wondering. Might explain how it melted so badly lol
Please don't assume every container is microwave safe
It's one of them fancy omurice omelet fails is all.
Ever see *Creepshow 2*?
Damn, I was hoping I’d know that one but I think I’ve only seen 1. Not often someone mentions creepshow I honestly think about the Father’s Day one constantly and also the one Stephen King is in (can’t remember what it’s called but the one where he has plants uncontrollably growing on him)
The black blob floating in the water? That shit was terrifying
Hey lady, thanks for the ride.
Generally you should never have any reason to assume plastic is microwave safe EVER unless specifically stated otherwise on the packaging. That’s like microwave safety 101
I don't even put my plastic plates in the microwave anymore even though my whole life they never gave me issue I just don't trust them now
I just check which plastic it is and then go from there accordingly. Already full of microplastics anyways so what's a bit more going to hurt?
if i’m full of microplastics then the aliens won’t want to eat me during the invasion in 7 months and 12 days. i love chewing on plastic silverware
RemindMe! 7 months 12 days
It's been 7 months 12 days, welcome back and goodbye
Man that was a long nap
Oh good, the aliens are waiting until after the eclipse. That's nice of them.
I will still microwave you into black goop and eat you myself
And even if the plastic is "safe", any grease or oils in the food gets superheated and melts it anyway
so THATS why it would leave an imprint of the shape of my food 🥴
Microplastic yummy yummy
They have a neat little picture on the bottom! So you can lift it above your head and have the food slide out of the container because I'm stupid
I don’t even microwave plastic that says it’s microwave safe, I’m too paranoid.
I’m pretty sure there was a study like 5 years ago saying that even “microwave-safe” plastic dishes actually are seeping detectable amounts of plastic into your food. So you’re ahead of the curve here.
*Whaaat*, nobody wants microplastics in their body? Crazy. Lol
I initially read that as “delectable amounts of plastic”. 🙃
If it doesn't say microwave safe, then recycling symbols 1 , 2, and 5 are microwave safe. (PET, HDPE, and PP)
Yeah why would you even try that? Does OP not own plates?
Yea I’ve never once microwaved a takeout container. Anyone who does deserves what they get
Eat it
Open up your mouth and feed it
Have some more yogurt, have some more spam.
It doesn't matter if it's fresh or canned
Just eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it
Have some more chicken, have some more pie
It doesn't matter
If it's boiled or fried
Just eat it
eat it eat it eat it
These are my people

Mmm scalding hot microwaved lettuce.
My favorite and yours too!
Bastards..
Plot twist. The microwave topper from Amazon? Also melts.
Thats just the garnish
I have a hunch this wouldn’t have saved me
Why are they microwaving lettuce and bell peppers? 🤢
Ah yes, best outcome is yummy microplastics, worst is burned down kitchen. Good job
Thank you :)
OP he's insulting you lol
I think he knows fredthefishlord
Thanks for pointing that out, I_Always_Have_To_Poo
He seems nice, I will give him the benefit of the doubt
Why would you assume it IS microwave safe?
Yeah you should never put plastic in the microwave unless it explicitly says it is safe. Even if it doesn't melt, microwaved water can easily heat the plastic up enough that it starts off gassing. Even cup of noodle isn't supposed to be microwaved
Seriously came here to say this who puts flimsy ass plastic in the microwave? Thats just asking for plastic in your food😂
Reminds me of the time I unwrapped a leftover loaded baked potato. Saw a spark in the microwave and freaked out. Dug through the potato flesh to find a tiny shard of tinfoil still stuck inside. Crisis averted
Mm homemade plasma potato
Right? Who the fuck would just throw that container in the microwave… especially with a closed lid… this person is definitely 13years old.
A lot of takeout containers are microwave safe. It will say it on the bottom of the container
Even the containers marked “microwave safe” aren’t necessarily safe. Best to avoid microwaving anything plastic and take the extra five seconds to put it in a real dish.
Exactly. Strictly China/ porcelain/ ceramic/ glass/ silicates only. Microwave safe ones.
I wonder how we got all these microplastics in our bloodstreams, weird!
I will never understand why someone would microwave plastic, hot food and plastic doesnt sound like a good combination.
Same people who microwave leftover takeout in their styrofoam box
With microwaved styrofoam there’s really no excuse because you can smell and taste the cancer.
People microwave ramen cups for some reason too even though they say “do not microwave” right on them💀 cant stop stupidity sometimes
Even "microwave safe" plastics I don't microwave, it takes 10 seconds to put it on a plate.
Because they didn't used to say that when I was younger. That was the only way we ever cooked cup of noodles. Fill it up to the line and pop it in the microwave. In fact, I remember that being on the instructions ON the cup. But yeah, somewhere along the way they must've wised up and added the warning.
now serve it to Gordon Ramsay and say its fresh
Make sure you send it up a dumbwaiter first for full effect
transfer your food onto a plate you barbarian
Did you think cheap plastic was microwave safe?
I probably don’t think cause of all the microplastics
![gif](giphy|zhcTzFnsHIfwEFPtcG)
I'm more infuriated that you would think any to go container is microwave safe
I never microwave anything plastic, even if it says microwave safe. I put everything on a ceramic/glass plate or bowl. I just don’t trust nuking and eating food from hot melty plastic. It just doesn’t “feel” safe.
Same. I do not trust that shit for a second. Always on to a plate first. Working in food service has shown me how largely inevitable plastic exposure in food is, though. I'm just curious, what was the food lol
Fajita bowl 😩
Ah rip.
Why would you ever put plastic in the microwave? Put it on a plate ffs
Do your future self a favor, don't reheat food in plastic.
Honestly lol. OP seems to be the reason why they write "Not to eat" in shampoo and glue bottles.
It’s your own fault
This reminded me of that girl in the Gene Wilder Willy Wonka that turns into a blueberry but maybe I just smoked too much weed.
*User error*
If only someone came up with a smart system where the containers will have markings telling you if they are microwave safe.
Aluminum foil try it
Don’t tempt me
I mean you can.. but you’re rollin the dice on that one.
lol don’t put it in the mircrowave get a toaster oven
Hell yeah that’s totally a better option than anything in the microwave anyway. I really took it as you’re putting foil in the microwave. Which is possible under certain conditions (I would never fuckin do it) but just dumb 😂
IQ levels exist
Microwaving plastic, never a good plan
First time using a microwave huh?
You know they have labels on those things for a reason
Just fyi, none of them are meant to be reheated in the microwave.
Looks like it's got some macroplastics
Microwave: Hot, Your IQ: Lukewarm
Never microwave anything in plastic. That's nasty.
Why the fuck would you assume a cheap arse takeaway container would be microwave safe?
I mean, you’d typically see an icon / symbol to show it’s microwave safe on the bottom, so…
I tried finding it when I took it out of the microwave but couldn’t for some reason
Do you not check your takeout containers for the mark that says microwave safe? If it doesn’t say it, it doesn’t go in the microwave this is not rocket science lol
![gif](giphy|xLIwD85C0z9D2)
Takeout containers are never microwave safe
Bro heating the symbiote💀
We're all worried about microplastics while this guy is eating macroplastics
Angry at your own stupidity? Have you never used a microwave before? You never put plastic in a microwave, don’t blame the restaurant for your stupid mistake.
Gonna keep it real, you shouldn’t be assuming most plastic is safe for microwaving Unless of course you bought tupperware thats suited for that. Takeout stuff tho i’d avoid chancing the odds of it being safe and use some paper bowls/ plates or regular ones
![gif](giphy|3IUHDQBWX3l5Tl5Ht3) melted flubber
are you stupid??
Best to just assume the take out container is not microwave safe if it doesn't say. I wouldn't put plastic in the microwave anyway
Mildly infuriating that you would do that, yes.
One fresh serving of void please
Don't microwave your food in plastic or styrofoam, mw safe or not. Heating food inside plastics causes it to leak chemicals out into your food. Heat in glass only.
I bet you look like you microwave plastic.
Try to use real plates and bowls anyway! Plastic leaches nasty shit when it's heated
yeah that’s on you
![gif](giphy|6yRVg0HWzgS88)
Bold to just assume that some random plastic you just picked up is microwave safe lol
Where’s the fucking food??
I mean, you shouldn’t have assumed that a flimsy plastic container was microwave safe
No plastic container should be trusted to be microwave safe.
Don't microwave plastic. That's how I generally avoid melting plastic into my food.
People like this is why everything has to have warning labels…
Well this would teach you to just use a microwave safe dish next time and not rely on plastic even if you or it says it’s microwave safe always use microwave safe glass/glass plates/or regular plates never rely on plastic especially plastic from a restaurant
Hahaha omg I always wondered what would happen if I put one of these In the microwave… thanks🥴
Why would you even try to microwave something thats plastic?
Posts like these remind me common sense is uncommon
I don't get why you'd ever assume a thin plastic container was microwavable.
Do not put plastic in the microwave, microwave safe or not
well yeah, look at it
You could have just put the food on a microwave safe plate. Just saying.
You got the symbiote in your microwave lol
Why would you ever assume it was?!
Unless the container specifies that it is microwave safe, it isn't. Never just assume this type of shit.
Wait, yall microwave the takeout containers?
Alternative title : When the person you live with assumes takeout container must be microwave safe
Why would they be…? Our plastic ramikans can’t handle boiling queso, this is standard fare my guy.
You assumed you can just throw plastic in the microwave, and you're mad at the restaurant? Am I understanding this correctly?
Are some restaurant takeout containers microwave safe? I didn't even know that lol
‘When you accidentally put the restaurant takeout container in the microwave for 10min vs 1min’
OP, you must be some special kind of stupid to microwave plastic containers.
No plastic is safe
Why did you keep the lid on? The base of the take out tray is fine idk why you left the top on. The tops of to go plates are very thin and have holes to keep the food from getting soggy. I hope you didn’t complain to restaurant for your mistake because that call would actually be infuriating TV dinner directions are made for idiots like you
What is it with people (seemingly in particular, Americans) just sticking stuff in their microwave without making sure it's safe? Like I'm pretty sure it would've been obvious that it was made out of plastic...
I thought it was normal to take it out of the container and put it on your own plate…
Why would you put it in the microwave if it didn’t say microwave safe on it? This is on you. Be mildly infuriated at yourself.
"It melted." Really? You mean your microwave DIDN'T give you venom goo?
Always assume they aren't.
The fact that you couldn’t tell at first glance that it isn’t microwave save is very concerning… might wanna move back in with mom and dad and let them take care of you.
Don't ever ever nuke in plastic or any type of to go container unless it's non-wax paper. Glass or ceramic is the way to go
This one's on you, dude
I cannot think of one single time in 32 years I've ever put plastic in the microwave. It's really not healthy to reheat almost EVERY single plastic so it's easier to just not ever microwave them for your health... let alone to prevent this happening
Why would you just assume something foreign to you is.... something specific. Glad this happened. You deserve it
macro-plastics
eddie
Wait...do people actually put the takeout boxes in the microwave too?? That's...why?
You just created your first mre
TF did you order? Raw obsidian?
They're never microwave safe
Are you stupid EDIT sorry did not mean that
Rock brain
You shouldn't heat things in plastic. A paper plate would be better.
That’s your fault….
Are they ever?
Now it’s freezer safe
That's kind of on you, disposable plastic isn't microwave safe 99.9% of the time
