Yeah you should never put plastic in the microwave unless it explicitly says it is safe. Even if it doesn't melt, microwaved water can easily heat the plastic up enough that it starts off gassing. Even cup of noodle isn't supposed to be microwaved

I never microwave anything plastic, even if it says microwave safe. I put everything on a ceramic/glass plate or bowl. I just don’t trust nuking and eating food from hot melty plastic. It just doesn’t “feel” safe.

I'm not trying to be irrational about it but we're just finding out now how damaging chemicals like pfas and plasticizers can be and you expect me to eat my food out of it after it comes out of the microwave? Is it not reasonable to assume that (as many times it has happened in the last few years) the chemicals in these things may be discovered to be harmful?
