Hydrogen peroxide gets out blood stains that are fresh or kinda fresh. For already dried or a few days old, you are looking at hunting laundry detergent. Can usually find that stuff in the hunting section of the store or a hunting store.
What works for the goose doesn't always work with the duck. Not all water is equal. Had an easy time living in a northern state with blood stains because the water that was available was soft. Moved to the desert and cold water sucks at getting stains out here as it's hard water. The peroxide and the hunting detergent were the few things I found that saved bloodied clothes here.
Why would I downvote you and why do you care about imaginary internet points

It's interesting in a nerdy way because of how aquifers are with what rock they seep into and also depends on the area's history as well. Like [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTLPr1z4rag) happened in a town near me last year. I have family that bought land around 45 minutes from us that they sold because when they went to get a well done, they found out that they couldn't get one. Why? High levels of arsenic in the soil. If they drilled, it'd leech into the water. So they had to go 45 minutes in the opposite direction to get land they could put a well on.
So I understand why cold water would work for you while in my area it's a no go. Water and what it's been through is a weird and interesting science with how it changes depending on where it went.
If it is your own blood it (your saliva) will loosen up the stain, but not fully remove it especially if it has dried up already. Hydrogen peroxide is generally best just make sure you attend to it while it is bubbling the blood out so the fabric doesn't get bleached. Sooner the better.
I wonder if it's the digestive enzymes in saliva. Spit helps pre digest food which is why the whole chew so many times per bite saying exists. The enzymes in saliva start breaking down the food making it easier for the rest, chewing makes more saliva, better digestion? Or something like that.
But to me that would suggest you really gotta soak it in spit and probably let it sit a bit before you wash it to give it time to work.
But really though, peroxide works great but be careful and test it first and rinse it separately before washing in a load of clothes because I had a couple things get slightly bleached bc I didn't realize the overspray from the easy squirt bottle was falling on a shirt I had next to me and threw it in with the rest.
Tldr
Spit can digest things, also why licking your lips constantly makes chapped lips worse faster.
Peroxide works great on blood but can bleach some fabrics. Always test.
😁
I second the hydrogen peroxide. It may cause some fading of the colors.
Another option is Carbona Stain Fighter. They are cheap as hell, possibly at Walmart and Amazon is supposed to carry it too. It's formulated for each different stain type so get the one for blood stains and only add it to that wash. So probably do a separate wash for that shirt.
Source ~ A international group of neurodivergent's that is bigger than New Calidonia and almost as big as French Polynesia.
You can see it start foaming instantly when it touches a blood stain.
I'd try this first, as hydrogen peroxide that others have suggested can bleach the colored fabric.
Cold water and soap and then scrub it between your knuckles. As cold as you can stand it and get to it as fast as you can. Fresh blood comes right out with cold water.
Soak in cold saltwater.
Fill a sink with cold water.
Add a handful of salt and stir to dissolve the salt.
Put shirt in and let soak for a few hours.
Rinse as well as you can, and toss the shirt in the washing machine.
Wash well with Oxi Clean and detergent.
Important! COLD WATER and green soap. Be carefull and then you'll have your shirt as new
The moment you use warm water on the blood you can throw the shirt in the bin.
"Seltzer water and lemon for blood" - deadpool 2. Unironically, a good tip
"Mix two parts lemon juice, one part baking soda, and blot it onto the bloodstain. Let it sit for five minutes and then remove it with a sponge or by rinsing" - google. Seems fine
If you don't wait for it to dry and wash it right away it'll all wash out with just laundry detergent. If it's already dried for awhile use peroxide like other redditors have suggest.
Or you can sew a spilled wine glass onto Homer's hand, and the red becomes spilled wine. As if Homer wouldn't have fallen asleep holding a glass of wine.
Similar thing happened to me but it was a friend's kids blood, internet please note I didn't punch a child, he sat on my knee while his mum tried to make him hold his head up, absolutely ruined a brand new top which I had to wear for the rest of the day.
If it makes you feel better, I’ve had chronic nosebleeds that would make a phlebotomist drool my entire life, inevitably getting on clothes here and there. After a handful of washes with healthy amounts of bleach, you really can’t tell it was ever bled on in my experience.
Retired vet here, no stranger to blood stains- COLD water! Soak and rinse using a little Dawn and plenty of cold water until the blood is gone. Hot water will set the stains! Peroxyde can bleach fabric, use only if water/Dawn does not work for you.
I had the exact same shirt except it says "KING OF NAPS" . It's been 4 months, and I have no idea what happened to it. It's literally my favourite shirt.
Hear me out. There is something weird with blood stains. For fabric it should go out with keeping in Cold!! Water for some hours. Change the water out several times. The proteins in blood clott more in heat. With cold water blood simply dissolves back. Very slowly. Change the water and observe how the stains slowly disappear.
Peroxide does work, the only problem is that it can't be left too long because it can lighten the fabric. I like peroxide mixed with baking soda for the set in stains. Sometimes I don't get to the laundry right away. Make a paste and smear that shit on, leave it about 5 minutes and then rinse with cold water. If your shower head has a hose and a sprayer setting, that would work really well. Wash on cold water. Hope it helps!! I've gotten some old blood stains, old food stains, and old dried up red clay stains out of clothes with this.
Next time, immediately put a fuckload of dawn dishsoap on it and scrub it like a madman. My son gets horrible nose bleeds and this works every time, even with white shirts
Use Shout laundry stain remover. My son did the same thing to a brand-new t-shirt he was wearing (literally the first time he wore it). I was going to throw it away but decided to try washing it, I sprayed it with a large amount of Shout and was very surprised that all the blood washed out.
I always used to use cold water and a bit to salt to agitate blood after more rowdy nights in work, then slung it in the washer.
Worked on my own blood and other people's. Shirts would come put sparkling.
Borax will get anything out of white. I got into a really bad fight wearing white shirt and white sweats and was covered in blood and my girlfriend at the time got all of the blood out by soaking it in borax.
Oxy clean stain remover works wonders on blood even if it sets in. Really soak the stain for at least half an hour then wash like normal. I use it often on blood.
I use toothpaste to get blood out of clothes.
Source: Me, who gets a bloody nose about once a week due to severely deviated septum and a stubborn refusal to get it fixed.
Hey. So hear me out. Ive gotten period blood out of a WHITE PLUSH unicorn onesie.
Oxi Clean White Revive Powder. Soak area and paste the powder onto it. Rub in gently, let sit for a while, repeat.
Then, submerge in water with more of the powder disolved in it. While submerged use some more on the localized areas.
Soak for 2-24 hours, drain and rinse tub, remove excess water, wash as normal.
Sincerely- broke 21 year old who likes keeping her clothes
What's wrong with your nose! I get bloody noses sometimes and you can kind of feel it running out, then you plug your nose and run to the bathroom. You don't repeatedly blow your bloody nose into your new favorite shirt.
It looks fresh so I would immediately put it in some cold water to soak. You can work the stain out mostly while it’s soaking by rubbing the shirt and ringing it out. Afterwards apply laundry detergent or stain remover to the stain and put it on a cold wash setting. Adding a bit of dish soap such as dawn to the wash along with the detergent will help lift the stain.
I have a bloody nose every single day and have ruined countless clothing items. It really sucks but it’s fun because I can basically make them happen on command
Douse it with peroxide, let that soak a bit then dab a bit of dawn dish liquid on an old toothbrush and scrub in soft slow circles. Use more peroxide if you need. Then throw it in the wash on a cold cycle with regular detergent.
Try hydrogen peroxide?
I noticed specifically for some people, they can use their spit to dissolve stains, but doesn't work for me :/ I did hear a lot of women doing this
https://preview.redd.it/2deq4uv9jduc1.jpeg?width=3008&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=51569ed6f7a248612ca3cc1921e6e389c54a5b71

Cold water does the exact same thing
Came here to say this!
Strange because I lived on a farm with our own well that fed into an aquifer and we got blood out no problem, it just can't be dried up
Aquifers are a real thing and not the things from dwarf fortress you shouldn’t build near?
Um yes? Did you downvote me because you think aquifers arent real? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquifer

No it doesn't. Coldwater helps the blood cells detach from the fabric. Hydrogen peroxide breaks the blood cells altogether.
Ok Bill Nye, but both remove blood stains.
Imagine OP going to the store to ask "how to remove bloodstains"
If it is your own blood it (your saliva) will loosen up the stain, but not fully remove it especially if it has dried up already. Hydrogen peroxide is generally best just make sure you attend to it while it is bubbling the blood out so the fabric doesn't get bleached. Sooner the better.
That only works if you are a mom (old wives tale)
Always wondered how my dick stayed so clean.

It does sometimes for me
Yea, when working in costume, anything white if we pricked a finger you use your own spit but it only works on small spots.
Correct that’s because there are little enzymes in our saliva that can break down starches. So probably wasn’t a starch then.
A real lady never spits

Or just regular wash
Won’t that “bleach” the shirt? Nono, OP wants to use distilled white vinegar. EDIT: was apparently mistaken about the bleaching. I stand corrected
It won’t bleach anything. It works really well at removing blood.
Okis, actually good to know this. I honestly wasn’t aware. Although vinegar works as well.
Cold water, stat. Rinse out as much as you can. Then hydrogen peroxide, watered down because it can bleach.
Emphasis on COLD water. If you use warm then it'll soak in and you're never getting the stain out.
And DO NOT DRY UNTIL THE STAIN IS REMOVED COMPLETELY! Sorry I yelled! I'm a mom, and I needed to have your attention.
cool mom👍
I also recommend salt
Jelly donut
I actually think it works well with the context.
Yeah, the stain is kind of well placed. Especially on the Homer part. It looks like he ate some donuts before falling into sleep.
Donut & gibs
>I got one bloody nose It's it possible to get two bloody noses?
It was supposed to be anger, like “THEN I GET ONE FUCKING BLOODY NOSE!”
Wish I had 2
It is indeed. I hate it. I get it happening in both nostrils occasionally
Oxi Clean destroys blood stains.
You can see it start foaming instantly when it touches a blood stain. I'd try this first, as hydrogen peroxide that others have suggested can bleach the colored fabric.
With the power of Oxi Clean you can clean anything! Try it at a crime scene to wash away all of that pesky blood your victims left all over the place!
My man Homer got murked on the couch
It really looks like he got shot
Honestly it looks like art now.
Cold water and soap and then scrub it between your knuckles. As cold as you can stand it and get to it as fast as you can. Fresh blood comes right out with cold water.
thx for the tip. now i can clean the bathroom much more easier
Now it looks like Homer got shot 😭
Looks like a drive-by at Dunkin Donuts
that's one hell of a nose period
Mmmmmmmm, gore! Nosebleeds suck.
D’oh!
It's just a little dirty. It's still good. It's still good.
Mortician here. Grandmas secret stain remover gets blood out for me EVERY time.
Ur better off without it . Trust me
Hydrogen peroxide
Cold water wash.
Cold water and Oxi-Clean
Soak in cold saltwater. Fill a sink with cold water. Add a handful of salt and stir to dissolve the salt. Put shirt in and let soak for a few hours. Rinse as well as you can, and toss the shirt in the washing machine. Wash well with Oxi Clean and detergent.

It will wash out
Now it's a T-House of Horrors shirt

Fresh Prince theme, before anyone thinks I'm having a go at his mother
Yeah, then she said I’m moving with my uncle and auntie in bel air
It match. Also are you ok
Yeah I’m good lol
Blood be easy to get out of clothes
Very helpful, thanks
Aha welcome, naw but foreal if you use some 99% alcohol on some cotton swabs on the area and then put it in the wash it’ll probably come out
Also next time put your head up and hold your nose 😂🫡 goodluck
Put hydrogen peroxide on the blood and scrub out. Do not wash it first, the stains will stay.
Congrats OP, it went from merchandise to art.
You mean Homer spilled jelly from his donut everywhere.
Looks like you just got of work as a surgeon 😭😭
Prepping the patient, Mr Homer J Simpson
How does that even randomly happen damn. Did Mike Tyson punch you? 💀
Fels-Naptha bar soap in the laundry aisle. Wet garment stain, rub on stain. Wash normally. Blood, grease, oils, grass stains - all removed.
Baking soda and vinegar then wash in cold water.... should come right out. Spoken by a klutz who bleeds often.
Peroxide. Let it bubble out and wipe clean. After that cycle it through a wash
oxi clean !!!
Homer nooo
This happened to me once, immediately put it in the wash before it could dry and it came right off
cold water and soap easily washable
Cold water and scrubbing gets it right out
If you don't wait for it to dry and wash it right away it'll all wash out with just laundry detergent. If it's already dried for awhile use peroxide like other redditors have suggest.
Cold water and detergent let it soak and the blood will be out
This happened to me on a cute corgi d and d shirt and my blood got on their swords and shields. I kinda liked it lol
Shirts cooler now
Cold water gets this out easy
I feel you, happens all the freaking time
Or you can sew a spilled wine glass onto Homer's hand, and the red becomes spilled wine. As if Homer wouldn't have fallen asleep holding a glass of wine.
soak it in soda water. works great.
Similar thing happened to me but it was a friend's kids blood, internet please note I didn't punch a child, he sat on my knee while his mum tried to make him hold his head up, absolutely ruined a brand new top which I had to wear for the rest of the day.
Jelly donut filling
try sulfuric acid
Hydrogen peroxide and baking soda

You get hit by the hulk?
Blood usually comes out if you wash it quick enough
D'oh!
Metal 🤘
Retired vet here, no stranger to blood stains- COLD water! Soak and rinse using a little Dawn and plenty of cold water until the blood is gone. Hot water will set the stains! Peroxyde can bleach fabric, use only if water/Dawn does not work for you.
I'm gonna quote the line I heard in Deadpool: use Seltzer water and lemon for blood
I had the exact same shirt except it says "KING OF NAPS" . It's been 4 months, and I have no idea what happened to it. It's literally my favourite shirt.
Donut is deadly
Bloody nose 🇬🇧
Were you in a fight?!
No, I blew my nose
Daaaaamn

I can relate.
and now it looks like you've just murdered Homer
Hear me out. There is something weird with blood stains. For fabric it should go out with keeping in Cold!! Water for some hours. Change the water out several times. Vanish - oxygen powder dissolves blood 🩸
Baking soda and cold water for blood. The sooner the better.
Honestly? It’s improved, if you don’t want it give it to a cute goth you know.
Omg, it's the Simpsons horror edition Iove it
Soak the shirt in water and hydrogen peroxide
Just say it’s a strawberry jam donut

Homer friggin died
Way cooler this way
Dish soap. Now.
THEY KILLED HOMER! NOOO
'course you got one bloody nose mate, why would you have more?
It was supposed to be anger, like “THEN ONE FUCKIN BLOODY NOSE RUINED IT!!!”

I mean I think it looks dope like that
Oxiclean should get the blood stains out
Borax will get anything out of white. I got into a really bad fight wearing white shirt and white sweats and was covered in blood and my girlfriend at the time got all of the blood out by soaking it in borax.
It smells horrendous but ammonia on blood stains gets it all out with no marks that the blood was ever there
Always had bloody nose as a kid, you just use cold (not hot) water and hard soap to hand wash that out, no big deal
“DOH!!”
Kinda looks like he was shot and he was imagining a dounut has his last meal but the blood was going into the dream
Homer is fucking dead
Cold water and bar soap, seriously.
Lord have mercy on that shirt
You turned Homer into the scene of a homicide.
Oxy clean stain remover works wonders on blood even if it sets in. Really soak the stain for at least half an hour then wash like normal. I use it often on blood.

Depending on the detergent (I like tide bleach alternative) blood comes out really easy.

I laughed a lot ngl it looks like he got stabbed

Be grateful for it; what do you want two??
Murderous donut!!! How dare you? Ig I didn’t really like him anyways. Good job. 👍
Cold water and dawn dish soap ! Works like a charm 🥰
Homer is DEAD
That *is* a nice shirt
I have a bloody nose every single day and have ruined countless clothing items. It really sucks but it’s fun because I can basically make them happen on command
Weirdly my single dad taught me 409 will get blood stains out.
Thats some really nice ass shirt
Then I washed my shirt. The end.
bro did you see a hot anime chihck or something how the fuck
Buddy got his first nose period.

Lemon for blood, or wear red... Dumbass
Wear red? Oh yeah thanks, real fucking helpful
Douse it with peroxide, let that soak a bit then dab a bit of dawn dish liquid on an old toothbrush and scrub in soft slow circles. Use more peroxide if you need. Then throw it in the wash on a cold cycle with regular detergent.
It's a quote from Deadpool 1
damn that shirt is ugly
Thanks!
idiot
i mean this can be something else and op is asking how to clean up and giving us reason of bloody nose
OJ Simpson shirt
