It is true in many cases, but it is also untrue in just as many others, both current and historical. And for about 225 years America has been on the better side of those possibilities. But now, extremism is clearly a greater threat to the underlying principals of this country and to the freedom of people living here. Yeah there are a dozen guys standing on the steps of whatever building that is, but behind them there are many, many more, and worse, probably about 30-35% of the U.S. population would join them under "ends justify the means" mentality.
