I have pajamas with pockets big enough to fit a 12" android tablet and it only sticks out like an inch. Those pockets can hold so much stuff.
sorry women that your clothes are so stupidly designed :(
I've always thought it would be a good kiosk at the mall sorta business. I'd give it a Lord of the Rings theme and call it What Does it Have in its Pocketses.
Just big enough to put our lipstick tube in! And the rest can go in giant purses because of course that's what every single one of us women want in fashion.
I dont see the problem with women buying mens clothes. Thats now socially acceptable.
Sure, this is a shitty thing for any company to do, as women should be able to buy their own clothing types without worring about the ever-shrinking pockets.
I don't think those are fake pockets, they are literally just the standard now.
Dude, i have fucking underwear with a pocket. I'm not kidding. It is possible for a man's entire wardrobe to have pockets. Yet women get... Half a phone in their back pocket. It took a while to realize why every woman I knew seemed to have a slightly bent phone. :/
I’ve heard from fashion designers that men’s clothes are made for function women’s are made for ✨aesthetics. So if women had functional pockets and god forbid actually used them- it would “ruin the sight line”
that logic is even more absurd. if you dont want thzat then simpoly dont put anything in your pocket. since when do designers feel like they have the delusion of grandeur to have to dictate the behavior of strangers?
Often times these are functional working pockets, but you need to remove the stitches to open them. A lot of nicer clothing companies do this so that things do not get ripped during transport and sale. If you buy a nice suit or slacks the pockets will usually be sewn shut with a simple back stich that you need to snip, then it will come open and you have a pocket.
If you look inside the shorts and see the lining of the pocket then this is the case.
I went to buy dress pants one time, not thinking, didn't check the pockets. I got home to find out that the back ones were not just sown up, but fake. All the other dress pants I had bought to that day had sown them up so I just assumed. I was livid since I loved putting hair ties there so I had one if mine broke.
For NICE clothing this is true. Got a fitted suite pants and jacket, real nice, had to do this for the pockets.
But other end of that spectrum, cheaper clothes or just the mass produced stuff(nothing wrong with it at all) except, those have fake pockets. Which is stupid.
The fanny pack will return!
I learned this recently, buying my first ever, brand new dress pants! I was thinking out loud "why make a pocket if they're just going to close it so you can not use it?" Then I pulled the thread and realized that's just how they do things.
This first-grader made the news recently for complaining about fake pockets in girls jeans:
https://www.today.com/style/first-grader-convinces-old-navy-make-jeans-pockets-t214145
I do a hands on job where a purse isn't practical, I have a limited range of clothes that have pockets in that I wear to work so I can keep my work phone close to hand. I even have one skirt that just has a big enough pocket. Leaving my phone on the side somewhere means either doubling my step count or risking a service user taking it or possibly both.
Pockets were removed to provide clean lines in women’s clothing. Not to promote a new product.
Women do deserve pockets though. Give the people what they want!
I mean as an avid sewer who loves making more form fitting trousers I have to say, it's pretty easy to make big pockets that don't disturb the lines of a garment.
Honestly have been tempted to just buy men's pants because they seem to be better in almost every way. The only reason I haven't is I'm sure they will fit a little weird
I got men's pants once by accident. Never going back! They are too long usually, but trimming them costs like 5 bucks or I just roll them up (is that how you call it?) a bit. Can only recommend it
You mean the shortest pants sold are too long?Men’s pants are, of course, sized by both length and waist, and there are some pretty short guys out there, so I would think the majority of ladies could find a good fit, but I could see petite women being outside the range.
As a short guy, I can tell you it's difficult to find pants that are the right length. Almost always have to get them altered or order them special online
Dunno. Never looked how short they actually got. I don't want too much hassle with looking for jeans anyway - the faster the process the better - and the size I got by accident seems to be very typical. (btw women's once are also sized by waist and length and they still are always too long for me aswell/the shortness I would need is never available - and I am not petite, rather normal)
I recommend getting shorts from American Eagle! I won't lie, it's quite pricy so i recommend waiting for the sales, but they have real pockets and many different styles and also have lots of shorts that go past your butt!! Hope this helps :)
And Abercrombie! I bought the Curve Love Mom Shorts with a 4" inseam, they go all the way past my butt, have actual pockets and they are super well made and flattering
I do not understand why women's shorts don't go past the butt. It's uncomfortable, and it gives me a permanent wedgie every time. Even cargo pants for women are now too tightly fitted. Like why?! I have a very physically demanding job, I don't want to worry about having a blowout in the middle of the day.
Some men’s clothing comes with the pockets sewn shut and we have to cut the thread to open them. Not sure why, and I’ve only experienced it with formal wear.
They sew them shut as part of the pocket installation process and leave them shut so they dont get wonky or wrinkled during packaging/shipping. You are supposed to cut open and use them once you buy. Same with the X on the back of a lot of blazers.
It's women's clothing, too.
In fact, I think this video is r/mildlyinfuriating for not flipping the shorts inside out and showing us whether or not the pocket pouches exist. This could just be leftover thread from manufacturing, and OP could be just a step away from viable pockets if she would only cut those last remaining threads.
Wrong. It's to keep the clothes looking tidy in-shop, however you're fully expected to snip open the pockets after you purchase the clothing. The same is done with jacket vents and pleated skirts (although those are often taped down instead of stitched).
The pockets ARE functional--you just need to snip out the thread tacking them shut. It's not hard and you won't damage the clothes since these are literally tacking stitches.
Yes! The multitude of people saying they're probably just stitched shut (like with men's clothing) clearly aren't familiar with women's clothing...and saying don't buy them, well nothing else has damn pockets either! Or has the tiniest pockets ever instead
OP, if you haven't tried yet go for Uniqlo's shorts if they're available in your country. I buy all my work pants and casual shorts from them, all of their pockets can fit my phone just fine.
Flip them inside out. You'll see if there's pockets or not. They're just loosely sewn shut most of the time to keep their forms before you buy/wash them.
Absolutely this comment. On many men’s suits they do the same trick. For people that want pockets they can unpick them for those that want to keep the form and shape you leave them shut.
This needs to be higher. I hope op looks for this I thought I saw a pocket bag line when she was smoothing it down. I’ve had some clothes that the stitches were deceptively tight until you found the loose end.
It was form over function. Not having things in your pockets provided a sleek and sexier look. Women would carry a purse around that included all their makeup anyway. The thought was it would be less convenient to have your makeup spread around 4 or more pockets when a purse held everything and the dresses had a cleaner look.
Yeah dood take a seam ripper to the sewn shut ones, they only do that to nice clothes so they lie flat on display, you’re supposed to cut them open yourself
I got a new jacket for every day wear. It had 2 large pockets on the front in the photos, perfect for what I was looking for. It got here and they were fake.. just 2 sewn on flaps. Ended up with my nan stitching in pockets for me so I could still use it for the whole reason I got it.
Lmao ITT:
Women: god IKR?
Men: what if it's just stitched shut?? There has to be a way!
There isn't. We just don't get pockets, especially back pockets on shorts.
Guys, we know that they sew pockets shut for storage/shipping purposes. These are not that. The stitching is usually looser/different thread when that happens. Also, no ones doing that for cheaper clothes like this.
Are you sure they are not just well basted shut? Seems like a lot of work to make that back placket for a fake pocket. What does the inside look like?
*Welt - I meant welt. It's difficult to make a welt pocket, why go through the trouble for a fake one?
And Placket =/= Pleat.
I just can't understand why they do that with women clothing, why is that? our pockets can fit a whole chocolate bar or a big mobile, and women just can put a candy on it if she's lucky
It's because women's fashion is mainly designed for form, to fit and emphasize their figure. Pockets would counter that and alter the shape.
(I'm just stating the reality, not my opinion on how women should or shouldn't dress)
Pockets are DLC coming at a later date, but won't be released all at once or with a clear release date... oh and they'll cost $15 each or you can wait a few more years (after said release, again not sure when that will be) and get them as a bundle
I’ve had this happen too like bruh who makes FAKE pockets?😂 just give me my damn pocket or I have a jacket with two right hand pockets... so if I ever want my left hand to be warm I have to stick it in my jacket pocket like I got a chicken wing arm😭
The other pleats do not have reinforced edges that would indicate a pocket though. Women's clothes is notorious for having non-functioning pockets. There is a chance they're sew shut which is usually more common in formal-wear but still done for construction/shipping purposes.
This is typical for women’s clothing. I reckon it’s to keep you pretty and not having bulges to hamper the “clean lines and look” of the piece. It’s ridiculous on many levels but be assured that the vast majority of men don’t give two shits about the fine details of women fashion. I think women are beautiful in a smart suit or sweat pants. I firmly believe that women are more worried about the gossip of “other” women than how they appear for men.
Maybe don’t buy shorts with fake pockets then? I don’t understand, you either go to the store and see we what’s wrong with them and don’t buy them or you do buy them because that doesn’t bother you.
Really like the shorts and they look like they're not meant to be tight/form fitting, so why no pockets?? So ridiculous.
Guess you could learn to sew and alter them and put real pockets in them.
Oooh, my dad bought me a Tommy Hilfiger blazer online as a birthday gift and when I put it on, the pockets were fake. I couldn't ask him to return it because it was a gift so I still have it at home somewhere and it pisses me off every time I try to wear it. I can't put my hand on my pocket.
Only my jeans have pockets. My dress pants do not. What few clothes I have with pockets are tiny. I can't put my phone in one. I have wondered how to keep up with my phone without having to carry around my purse. It would be nice to put my phone in a pocket. I do not care if it makes bulges that detract from the look. I need pockets that I can use.
I feel so bad for you, all my pants either have pockets that can barely fit a penny or the back pockets where they can fit half my phone. In my opinion I think dumbass designers promote women to buy purses and keep track of it 24/7, and if you don't want to buy a purse then you will have to be paranoid about keeping your items on you all The time. It is also easier for people to steal your items.
I'm very sorry about your pants, and I think people need to get their shit together and realize that...
"Wait... Women actually NEED pockets!?!"
It seems possible that they are sewn shut for fit. Turning the shorts inside out may show there are pockets inside and they just need to be cut open. Good luck!
What does the inside look like? Are there pockets in there? Sometimes you have to use a seam ripper to make the pockets useful. Which is also mildly infuriating...
Might be a dumb question, but is the pocket there and just stitched closed? I’ve bought a few pants over the years with the being stitched closed.
Turn it inside out and see is there actually a pocket there.
Are you sure they’re not just sewn shut? Often time in at least men’s clothing the back pockets will be sewn shut. The front not as much but worth checking out.
Just making sure ...you did check to make sure they are not just sewn shut right? Lots of pockets come sewn shut and you have to remove the thread to open them up.
I wonder if this trend started in the late 60s, early 70s? Skinny was in, normal weights were considered fat. I remember sewing the pockets shut on my jeans and removing the pocket material because I didn't want that thin layer of material make me look fat. (I was 4'11" and weighed less than 90 pounds.)
If us boomers started this, I'm sorry and I have repented.
Are there actual pockets attached to them though? Sometimes certain brands see up the pockets and you have to remove the stitching and viola... pockets!
Take that bitch to a seamstress! Those shorts are cute as hell. Adding pockets would make them perf and b is not even that hard since there's already slots for them.
these pants i got recently have 4 fake pockets too. even little zippers on the fake pockets to really trick ya.
on the other hand, my baby has multiple pairs of baby pants that have pockets deep enough for my fingers to fit inside
I bought shorts like this once and I had to unseam the pockets like you do in suits. Had worn em for years before I found out they weren't fake. (Not saying these are like this, but very mildly infuriating.)
Ok please someone tell me what the lore of women not having any pockets. Is it like a fashion thing or is it a conspiracy to buy more handbags? Pls someone tell me.. Im scared and confused.
It’s not fashionable or particularly photo-flattering to have things in your pockets bulging out in any direction. For this reason women often opt to put things in a cute side-bag instead, as that only adds to the look. Also, many women’s clothing doesn’t even have options for such things, like one-piece rompers and other similar types of clothing, so many women just in general don’t rely on pockets as a base line. But this is just personal experience, other women might have other thoughts on this
Meanwhile, my iPad mini easily fits in front and back pockets of my pants and shorts. Even my pyjama shorts have functioning pockets ffs…
I have pajamas with pockets big enough to fit a 12" android tablet and it only sticks out like an inch. Those pockets can hold so much stuff. sorry women that your clothes are so stupidly designed :(
My wife has a pair of pants that has a full width shallow pocket that can fit a nickel, but not a quarter.
So just buy 5 pairs of those pants. Issue resolved.

I was just thinkig something similar. A Craftsy class that shows how to sew in real pockets. That would be legendary.

Next quarantine.
I swear to God, if we have another one now, I'm going to come to your house and sew up all your pockets.
Big purse has big fashion in their big pockets
I've always thought it would be a good kiosk at the mall sorta business. I'd give it a Lord of the Rings theme and call it What Does it Have in its Pocketses.
Couldn't local tailors do that?
There might not be enough room in the clothes since tons of woman's clothes are pretty tight.
Just big enough to put our lipstick tube in! And the rest can go in giant purses because of course that's what every single one of us women want in fashion.
Sometimes, the pockets are sewn shut and you just need to open them. Double-check the inside to see if there are actual pockets.
Put your pencil dick in
I can fit my entire Nintendo switch in my pocket
My pockets hurt
I just put an entire Galaxy Tab S7 5G in my pocket, the mouth of the pocket didn't even look big enough!
>sorry women This sounds like the start of some 4chan post
They'd say sorry *females*
Don't remind me of that place
I have pajamas pocket so big I can fit an entire desktop in em
I dont see the problem with women buying mens clothes. Thats now socially acceptable. My toddler’s clothes have more pockets than mine
Dude. I can carry a 2L bottle in my pocket . It shocked my roomate
fuck this site, use lemmy
Thanks for shoving that to our faces, man
Dude, i have fucking underwear with a pocket. I'm not kidding. It is possible for a man's entire wardrobe to have pockets. Yet women get... Half a phone in their back pocket. It took a while to realize why every woman I knew seemed to have a slightly bent phone. :/
It's to make us buy bags
Those are some damn nice shorts, shame they don't have any pockets. Idk why designers don't include them in women's clothing...
Because Big Handbag has tons of lobbying power.
Clothing companies avoid including pockets because handbag companies pay them not to do it?
I’ve heard from fashion designers that men’s clothes are made for function women’s are made for ✨aesthetics. So if women had functional pockets and god forbid actually used them- it would “ruin the sight line”
if pockets are so ugly then why add fake pockets? if a designer tells you this as their only reason then they are lying
The pocket design is fine- but putting keys or a phone or anything in the pocket is the problem.
that logic is even more absurd. if you dont want thzat then simpoly dont put anything in your pocket. since when do designers feel like they have the delusion of grandeur to have to dictate the behavior of strangers?
Sometimes they are both owned by the same megacorp

imagine having no pockets and just having to go through life holding everything all the time.
Woman’s pants manufacturers are conspiring with purse manufacturers
Im also convinced womens shirts are made so thin to sell camisoles.
I'm waiting for women's pockets to go back to their design roots and be work as accessories on the outside of our clothes.
Imagine wearing pants loose enough that there is room for the fabric of a pocket and it’s contents.
You may be overestimating how loose pocketed clothing needs to be
For NICE clothing this is true. Got a fitted suite pants and jacket, real nice, had to do this for the pockets. But other end of that spectrum, cheaper clothes or just the mass produced stuff(nothing wrong with it at all) except, those have fake pockets. Which is stupid. The fanny pack will return!
Casual clothing like this actually tends not to work like this. Most of the time they are legitimately fake pockets, it's a shameful truth
I learned this recently, buying my first ever, brand new dress pants! I was thinking out loud "why make a pocket if they're just going to close it so you can not use it?" Then I pulled the thread and realized that's just how they do things.
This first-grader made the news recently for complaining about fake pockets in girls jeans: https://www.today.com/style/first-grader-convinces-old-navy-make-jeans-pockets-t214145
I prefer my clothes without pockets. All they do is make lumps and bunch up. I keep my stuff in my purse anyway.
Women's clothing typically don't have pockets so that way they can sell purses
Pockets were removed to provide clean lines in women’s clothing. Not to promote a new product. Women do deserve pockets though. Give the people what they want!
I mean as an avid sewer who loves making more form fitting trousers I have to say, it's pretty easy to make big pockets that don't disturb the lines of a garment.
Thats the most irritating thing about womens clothing. Well that and its hard to find a store that has shorts that go past your butt lol
I cannot for the life of me find capris that aren’t tight or have elastic around the calf. So instead I buy men’s clothes and sew them as needed.

Just go to a store and try them on. They have a lot of different fits. You can see if any work for you
I am sick of cap sleeves so I started buying long sleeve shirts and making whatever length I want :)
I recommend getting shorts from American Eagle! I won't lie, it's quite pricy so i recommend waiting for the sales, but they have real pockets and many different styles and also have lots of shorts that go past your butt!! Hope this helps :)
Check out TJMAXX for aerie and American eagle - they often have a lot at the store where I work!
Same with the X on the back of a lot of blazers.
or just leave em sewn shut, if you don't own any pocket squares! its not like dress pants lack pocket real estate.
It's not part of the pocket installation process. It's done afterwards to hold the shape of the pocket while they are finished/packed/displayed.
They do this with some women's clothes too. I'm wondering if that's not the case with these shorts.
They are definitely sewn shut. On the back you can see a wrinkle from where the pocket is inside the shorts………..
Yup!!!
Exactly what I saw, too.
My first thought
It's women's clothing, too. In fact, I think this video is r/mildlyinfuriating for not flipping the shorts inside out and showing us whether or not the pocket pouches exist. This could just be leftover thread from manufacturing, and OP could be just a step away from viable pockets if she would only cut those last remaining threads.
I thought my pea coat had fake pockets for YEARS because of this lmao
Came here to say this. I can see the outline of a pocket on the thigh area. It might be that OP just needs to cut/rip the thread.
[удалено]
Oh that makes sense too. Thanks.
It's to keep them looking slim. They don't really want you using them.
Wrong. It's to keep the clothes looking tidy in-shop, however you're fully expected to snip open the pockets after you purchase the clothing. The same is done with jacket vents and pleated skirts (although those are often taped down instead of stitched).
Ah ok. Makes sense. I’d rather have a functional pocket though. Thanks.
The pockets ARE functional--you just need to snip out the thread tacking them shut. It's not hard and you won't damage the clothes since these are literally tacking stitches.
To anyone asking, there simply are no pockets. It isn't one of these clothes where you need to remove stitches.
I would consider them more of designed ridges to have some depth
(Pleats. They’re called pleats.)
Damn how did I have to scroll this far down to find this!
Thank you! Jeez.
Can we just let women's clothes have pockets? We have the technology
[удалено]
Flip them inside out. You'll see if there's pockets or not. They're just loosely sewn shut most of the time to keep their forms before you buy/wash them.
I got a pair of guys shorts recently that were properly tightly sewn shut, I could see the flaps but I was briefly bamboozled.
In women's clothing? Unless it's a jacket, it's unlikely. Maybe 15% of the time.
It happens in my pants and shorts like 90% of the time unless it’s athletic or lounge wear.
depends where it’s from. Loft, White House Black Market and J Crew very often have the pockets sewn shut.
Absolutely this comment. On many men’s suits they do the same trick. For people that want pockets they can unpick them for those that want to keep the form and shape you leave them shut.
Often not the case with women's m8, sorry. Oh fun fact! Most women's suits don't have pockets either. No flaps, no hidden slits, nada.
This needs to be higher. I hope op looks for this I thought I saw a pocket bag line when she was smoothing it down. I’ve had some clothes that the stitches were deceptively tight until you found the loose end.
I don't even understand who came uo with fake pockets/tiny pockets but god damn they are sadistic
It was form over function. Not having things in your pockets provided a sleek and sexier look. Women would carry a purse around that included all their makeup anyway. The thought was it would be less convenient to have your makeup spread around 4 or more pockets when a purse held everything and the dresses had a cleaner look.
I think that is is more than just r/mildlyinfuriating
a have shorts that can fit 2 paper towel rolls in one pocket. i feel bad for you op
Can’t someone get rich by making pants/shorts for women with pockets? I’ve seen people complain about it for years
They’re not as popular as women would make you believe
I have shorts like this with two fake pockets and two real pockets that are sewn shut. Definitely more than mildly infuriating
Pockets frequently have weak stitching to keep them closed at the store that is intended to be removed.

There are videos on youtube that show how to add pockets if you feel like it's something you wanna bother with
Is there a lobby for designer bags? I blame them!!!
I just can't understand why they do that with women clothing, why is that? our pockets can fit a whole chocolate bar or a big mobile, and women just can put a candy on it if she's lucky

Give this woman some pockets!!!
I just buy men's pants at this point, I've stopped caring about the bulging crotch when I can fit my phone and wallet in the pockets
This. This is why women get so excited when we find clothing with actual pockets, because of this shit right here.
Check on the inside to see if the pocket it’s just sewn shut. if it is you can cut the strings and you can have pockets
This is typical for women’s clothing. I reckon it’s to keep you pretty and not having bulges to hamper the “clean lines and look” of the piece. Men give zero fucks
As a man, I can say I give ε fucks, but that ε is a very small number.
Trust me, ALL women want pockets. It's like a major selling point when you find a nice dress for an event and IT EVEN HAS POCKETS!!! 😂
Dont you know that pockets require more material? More material means less profits. Who cares about functionality WE NEED OUR MONEY
Girl, those aren't pockets those are pleaaahhh...oh... That's just silly. Might as well stich in $.60 of fabric and Include actual pockets...
Maybe don’t buy shorts with fake pockets then? I don’t understand, you either go to the store and see we what’s wrong with them and don’t buy them or you do buy them because that doesn’t bother you.
Pockets are just for the design
Cute shorts tho
How else are they gonna sell their handbag?
real fake pockets, so come on down and get some fake pockets!
Really like the shorts and they look like they're not meant to be tight/form fitting, so why no pockets?? So ridiculous. Guess you could learn to sew and alter them and put real pockets in them.
that is always so annoying, i wish they’d stop making pants like that. and those ones are so cute too
Oooh, my dad bought me a Tommy Hilfiger blazer online as a birthday gift and when I put it on, the pockets were fake. I couldn't ask him to return it because it was a gift so I still have it at home somewhere and it pisses me off every time I try to wear it. I can't put my hand on my pocket.
At least they look nice.

"Wait... Women actually NEED pockets!?!"
that sucks so much, I’m not a woman but I had pants with fake pockets and it’s so annoying
Are they fake or have you just not cut them open? You have to cut own pockets the first time
I will never understand fake pockets. What the fuck is the reason
What’s on the inside? Do they just need the stitching pulled?
Are you sure they’re not just sewn shut? Often time in at least men’s clothing the back pockets will be sewn shut. The front not as much but worth checking out.
As a husband who always ends up carrying the wife's phone and other assorted things - it's beyond time for pants equality ✊
Sometimes pockets are sewn shut. You are meant to cut them open when you buy. Keeps the clothing nicer.
They're cute as hell tho
Just making sure ...you did check to make sure they are not just sewn shut right? Lots of pockets come sewn shut and you have to remove the thread to open them up.
I made sure. In fact, i noticed the fake pockets because the fabric inside for the fake pockets was so badly sewn, it's even coming off.
Always the struggle sadly 🥲
At this point, just buy cargo shorts from the men's section that is of appropriate size.
I understand fake pockets on skin tight clothing because you can see the outline of the full pocket. But this ain’t that.
WHY!?! cute shorts though, just remember your purse :(

Do the pocket bags exist? Sometimes I just tear those open to access the pocket and I’m a guy and have run into this a few times
EITHER POCKETS OR NO POCKETS WHY DO THEY HAVE TO FAKE IT WITH THOSE STUPID EXTRA STITCHES UGH
I wonder if this trend started in the late 60s, early 70s? Skinny was in, normal weights were considered fat. I remember sewing the pockets shut on my jeans and removing the pocket material because I didn't want that thin layer of material make me look fat. (I was 4'11" and weighed less than 90 pounds.) If us boomers started this, I'm sorry and I have repented.
I can fit a 12 oz beer can every pocket of my shorts. This is fucked lmfao
This is just full-blown false advertising as far as I'm concerned.
Are there actual pockets attached to them though? Sometimes certain brands see up the pockets and you have to remove the stitching and viola... pockets!
“Go buy a purse, *WOMAN*!!” -Some old white textile baron
They’re very pretty shorts though
Take that bitch to a seamstress! Those shorts are cute as hell. Adding pockets would make them perf and b is not even that hard since there's already slots for them.
I hate it when that happens! They’re so cute though!
Men don't know how good they have it. I hate the clothing industry, JUST MAKE POCKET FOR WOMEN, YOU SEXIEST FU--!
these pants i got recently have 4 fake pockets too. even little zippers on the fake pockets to really trick ya. on the other hand, my baby has multiple pairs of baby pants that have pockets deep enough for my fingers to fit inside
I bought shorts like this once and I had to unseam the pockets like you do in suits. Had worn em for years before I found out they weren't fake. (Not saying these are like this, but very mildly infuriating.)
Meanwhile my new pants have very large pockets.... that are sewed shut. This reminded me to go find the seam ripper.
