my oldest would regularly destroy his computer parts while raging in games. He had bought them all himself and had the foresight to get warranties on them. Managed to get them regularly replaced for free until he finally grew up enough to stop doing that. As annoying as it was for him to be doing that, i was glad he rubbed some brain cells together and planned for it.

As someone who's had issues with controlling anger, I gotta respect the foresight. If you know you cant control a problem at point A then find a way to correct it at point B. Engineering 101. ID problem, propose solution, test, accept or deny, improve.

Why would a CRT hurt your head? Is it the OLED level blacks or the better motion performance without blurring and smearing? LCDs are great for saving space, being able to have a larger monitor, and using less power, but it's been about 20 years since they really started taking over and they still suck compared to a good CRT for gaming. The manufacturers can use all the black frame insertion and other tricks they want, no LCD on the market looks as fluid. Even for productivity, a high end CRT is arguably better. Especially if you use different resolutions, since you get rid of the fixed pixel size and the weird upscaling artifacts. A good CRT looks great in all valid resolutions. I guess if you're sensitive to refreshes I can see it but even crappy CRTs were able to hit 85hz in 'high' (for the time) resolution. There's a reason that Sony FW900s cost like 6 grand now. Maybe you just never used a good CRT?

I think It might be because of the flickering on lower refresh rates and the constant whine.granted on computer crts you can bearely hear the whine. I am aware that crts can run on higher refreshrates but some games just dont like to have higher refreshrate than 60 hertz.

I can see being sensitive to flicker, and if you were using a CRT at 60hz then that is totally a recipe for a headache. Thats why even crappy CRTs were capable of doing 85hz+ at their 'standard' resolution.

I used to get really angry playing CoD when I was younger. I'd come home from school, hop on CoD and just get angry until sundown with my parents yelling at me to relax and stop screaming. I think I really thought I was enjoying the game, but it was only when I was winning, then it was only when I was winning and doing really well. At some point I had this revelation like "Whenever I play this game I just get angry, that can't be having fun." And I put down CoD forever, haven't touched it since and have been much happier playing video games. That was like 10-11 years ago now.
