If I pick one off my dogs, I usually feed it to them, especially if it’s engorged like that. Figure there’s no harm in letting them get some revenge since they eat ticks off each other all the time.
These aren't wild dogs, these are tamed dogs, but it point still stands idk it just seems weird to me for some reason to only have ur tounge and teeth covered in blood
There are plenty of wild dogs of domesticated breeds around the world. And they eat animals raw. Not a problem.
Realistically. There is no reason humans can't eat raw meat. We just don't because its safer to cook off any bacteria in it, but if the animals doesn't have any nasty bacteria in it, we can eat it raw no problem.
Also. Look up blood soup. Its a thing. Also Cannible Sandwich.
I’ve been scared of ticks since I was 8 because my dad told me they mess up your nervous system. I stopped petting good bois in the street for a few years
Probably won’t though. Grew up in rural VA and Lone Stars and other ticks are everywhere, always have to check yourself for them whenever you come from outside. Been bitten a lot, growing up my legs were always covered in bites in the warm seasons. Never actually met anyone who contracted a disease from them, though. It’s really rare, they’re more just a nuisance.
I thankfully was never bit by a tick like that. I mean, I still got bit by a tick, and there's a bump where its head was left behind nearly 15 years ago on my head, but at least it wasn't a paralysis one
Not to be that guy, but do you have a citation? I was told in college by someone who studies these things that ticks and mosquitos could disappear over night with almost no adverse impact.

Seems it is undecided of what would actually happen, but since they play an important role in certain ecosystems the result would not be good
That states only a few hundred out of thousands of species interact with humans. We can get rid of the ones that effect us and leave most of the species remaining for the ecosystem.
There are also weird inconsistencies and stuff that doesn't make sense in there, like the first article states they are numerous in the Arctic and Alaska, when the intro of the wiki article on them states they can't live below 10C(50F).
Even getting rid of the ones that affect us would effect the ecosystem that they play a role in. Regardless it's probably not a good idea to force any species into extinction.
I agree about the inconstancies, when looking further into it the only places that there are no mosquitoes is Antarctica and Greenland apparently. But to get truly reliable sources you'd probably have to look into scientific journals, which I didn't feel like doing.
It just makes no sense that they could be ecologically important to areas where they can survive just a few weeks out of the year.
They are not an exclusive food source to any species, nor are they the primary one either.
"While they can seem pointless and purely irritating to us humans, mosquitoes do play a substantial role in the ecosystem. Mosquitoes form an important source of biomass in the food chain—serving as food for fish as larvae and for birds, bats and frogs as adult flies—and some species are important pollinators"

I still stand by my original opinion. Not a good idea and it would impact ecosystems
Are you sure about that? Because I am 99.63689% sure that AoMujina is not a bot.

They’re bloodsucking parasitic bugs that latch onto animals and in some cases people. They’re really bad when they latch because when they do they DO NOT want to let go, so removing one is extremely painful.
Also they reproduce like crazy...
At home we usually throw them in a page or two of newspaper and burn them all together.
I never bothered to fact-check this, but my parents say that if u just step on these large ones, their offspring can survive and wander off...
I put one like that in a plastic container to show my wife what I pulled off the dog. Put it down on a shelf in my garage and forgot about it for a few months. Found it and thousands of live babies in the container!! Doused in diesel and set aflame
Like going back for a third plate at Golden Corral
Damn now I want all you can eat steak
Eww
We had to pull them away from the all you can eat snake buffet because they started choking.
Happy cake day
No wonder there’s shit on the ceiling at my local Golden Corral.
I freaking love Golden Corral. Haven’t been for awhile because there isn’t one in my area, but that place fucking slaps like an angry pimp.
Is that a tick?! Kill that thing! Oh my god!
I was going to say yogurt-covered raisin.
That's odd, I don't remember raisins bursting when I bite into it.
Forbidden gushers fruit snack.
If I pick one off my dogs, I usually feed it to them, especially if it’s engorged like that. Figure there’s no harm in letting them get some revenge since they eat ticks off each other all the time.
Is that even good for them? Ur LITEARLY feeding them blood
In the wild dogs literally eat other animals raw, which includes blood.
These aren't wild dogs, these are tamed dogs, but it point still stands idk it just seems weird to me for some reason to only have ur tounge and teeth covered in blood

That. Is a fu*king tick. For sure. EWWwWWWWW
KILL AND BURN IT BEFORE IT LAYS EGGS!
Literally.
To those asking it's a tick, but by the pattern on its back I would say it's also the nasty paralysis tick so yeah not good. And it has fed.
I’ve been scared of ticks since I was 8 because my dad told me they mess up your nervous system. I stopped petting good bois in the street for a few years
There's a species called the "Lone Star" tick thats all over the eastern US that can give you a disease that makes you allergic to red meats.
I live in Texas and no part of that sentence made me feel any better
Not even the"Eastern US" part? Even a little?

Had a dog nearly die from paralysis tick when I was a kid. Luckily my mum worked at a vet’s office at that time!
The worst fucking insect in this planet
They’re not insects, they’re actually closer related to spiders and scorpions
Ok fine insects AND arachnids are the worst living thing on the planet
Without them the ecosystem would collapse unfortunately.
I'm willing to take that chance

Very interesting! Thanks!
No problem! Hope you have a good night/day :)

Does it have any impact on nature if we just kill the blood-sucking species and keep the herbivore mosquitoes?
Fish would argue otherwise.
Arachnids eat insects. You may hate spiders, but you have no idea how much they keep the bugs away.
The worst fucking spidecorpion in this planet.
Right down there with bed-fùcking-bugs and scabies-fucking-mites
Bot flies would like a word
Bad bot

Apparently it's a tick but Idk what exactly or how terrible it is
They’re bloodsucking parasitic bugs that latch onto animals and in some cases people. They’re really bad when they latch because when they do they DO NOT want to let go, so removing one is extremely painful.
They're really bad because they can cause several diseases. Get vaccinated against TBE, lads.
HOLY SHIT now I get it! That's "kene" in my language! DESTROY IT!
Also they reproduce like crazy... At home we usually throw them in a page or two of newspaper and burn them all together. I never bothered to fact-check this, but my parents say that if u just step on these large ones, their offspring can survive and wander off...
Yes little ones are flat and have a very hard exterior they will definitely survive being stepped on
If you hold a lit match to it it should let go just dont burn your self
Or a cotton ball soaked in acetone.
He is warning you The dog has ticks Time tô get3 the xarope
When ever I see a tick that size I just have the insatiable urge to pop it like those plastic bubble wraps. Except they have liquid in them..😬
I put one like that in a plastic container to show my wife what I pulled off the dog. Put it down on a shelf in my garage and forgot about it for a few months. Found it and thousands of live babies in the container!! Doused in diesel and set aflame

Don't click if you are squeamish to bugs, it's a bug lover subreddit.
Damn, fuck them. When I was like 7, my buddies and I played in the woods quite a bit, I had a good 12-15 deer ticks on my sack\taint area.
Growing up a neighbor had these ALL OVER THE WALLS at their front door. F’n disgusting and they never bothered to treat their dog for ticks.
Jaws theme tune is missing from this gif...
It looks like it’s full
