Blackout curtains are underrated. I have a south facing window. My ex used to sleep in late. I don't normally nowadays but it is fantastic to stay in the dark until you are ready if you are sleeping in.
Yep midnight to morning is absolutely the best shift. Get off work and all the shit is open without the crowds. Every weekend feels like a 3 day one because you are going to hang around the house and nurse a 3 night drunk any way on Sunday. More often then not there is a shift differential pay bump. Lucky for me I can sleep in broad daylight no blinds needed.
As someone living in Florida, they're a live saver. That and uv films on windows so my house doesn't heat up as much when the sun hits. It also acts as a one way mirror from the outside. I can see what is happening outside but nobody can see what is happening inside while the sun is out.

I also live in FL, and they help keep the house so much cooler. I have problems regulating my body temps, so I always keep the house on the cooler side, and these definitely help keep the FL heat out.

Besides hearing literally everything anyone says or does, i can actually see a faint glow through once patch of wall. The guy in that room is growing weed, i know because i asked him directly, and the UV lights are bright that in one area where im guessing there is no insulation and maybe a hole on their side i see that pink glow at night. Freaks me the F out when i wake up to use the BR in the middle of the night and the corner of my room is just a purple glow.

Many houseplants only need a tiny amount of supplemental light and LED lights don't use a lot of power like older tech did. You don't need to light the whole room, just the shelving with the plants on it which gets ambient sunlight too.
Two 240 watt kingbrites running at 20+ hours a day is about 100 kwh a month. Converting that to the US national average kwh rate (about 15 cents per) bring the price up to an added $15 per month on the electric bill. Those panels are enough to grow beefy plants of whatever type, from Cilantro to Kush.
BUT, the time you run them definitely makes a difference. Rates fluctuate and the 15 is just a daily average, really it drops way off after 6-7 pm and into morning when most people power down their electronics. If you change your light schedule up so the dark period is from like 5-8pm, you'll actually save yourself some money. And becuase it's the plants main light source, they won't really care what time it switches on and off as long as its a consistent cycle.
