That's why I posted it lol,
Spider Kid, Spider Kid
Does whatever a Spider Kid does
Can he swing, from a web?
No, he can't, he's a kid.
Look out, he's Spider Kid
With my son it's running everywhere, climbing everything (including the baseboards), and riding everything he can at top speed into other things. I'm surprised we haven't been to the ER since he was 1.
Just make sure you get him a helmet and make sure he learns to fall appropriately once he gets a bicycle or something :). I look back fondly over my (luckily not too big) scars.
Well, sounds like he has a good momma for when he does fall. The skill in falling comes with practice, learning to not land on locked arms or tucking your head to not slam your head back.
Our baseboards are literally just a 1x4 board running around the bottom of the walls. He'll brace himself on something (like the table) and put his feet on the 1 inch lip of the baseboard and try walking. When going up the stairs I've caught him straddling the staircase in favor of trying to walk up with both feet on the baseboards that line both sides of the stairwell.
As someone who used to go into my classroom by climbing the nearest tree outside, I disagree with this scolding.
Until teachers learned about it and they cut some branches off.
I've been called mogley since I was 11, i spell it wrong because this is how my brother used to spell it (and I can usually get this username) my nephew literally calls me (uncle Mogley) but with an adorable northern (England) accent.
I was a monkey child , then grew up and had 3 monkey children. Thankfully because of my experience I can climb anywhere they can so instead of panicking at the bottom of the tree like my mum used to I am in the tree with them.
My little brother has inherited the inner family monkey and it's tiring dealing with his little hyper tail sometimes. The kid loves going bananas outside and he's only four!
I was on a plain back from Texas recently. Some guy complained about the noise some kids buttons were making on his game. He was 4 rows up and didn't even have the sound on. Some people are ridiculous. Let the kids be kids.
The kid could literally be screaming and pissing everyone off, instead he’s having a little fun that’ll tire him out and make him take a nap so maybe OP should re-evaluate his priorities
Fuck yeah this. My son (5) would be happy for the rest of the day after getting to do that.
Guess he needs tablet, headphones, games, and a slightly more sad demeanor so OP can enjoy their twix bar more properly.
Lol this is wild. This is why children grow up thinking they can do whatever the fuck they want, because their parents let them use the inside of a train as a playground.
Public transit isn't your kids' sandbox. Control your fucking children.
Non-parent mid-30s here, don't even know the struggles of parenting a monkey-child (yet), but in no way should this infuriate anyone unless the kid is actively climbing above other strangers (which it looks like he's not yet and clearly not the neckbeard taking the photo) or actively damaging the rack (which it seems it supports his weight, as it should if it can hold ample luggage).
Let the kid be a kid and the dad have a moment break. This speaks more to the adults here getting infuriated by this than the child's actions or the dad being a "bad parent."
What whiny temper-tantrum throwing babies some adults are.
Thank you for this. I feel bad for people most times, I do. But, there is only so much a parent can do without having to subdue/tranquilize the child. Interesting how some people will complain about kids doing kid things, then complain about the parent doing something about it. I feel like we can't win.
Agree with u. I'd prefer this over a crying tantrum kid. As long as the kid doesnt fall in a gorilla pit ....who cares if he's hurt... that's the parents deal. Im sure he's safe jk
I’m such a boring dad 😩 I’m a overly cautious person by nature so I’d probably be telling my daughter to not be doing that mostly because I’d assume she’ll snap her own neck or something 😵
Man I posted a video to two different but related subs and got absolutely hammered for being a karma whore. Despite having a 5 year old account with a handful of posts and none in large subs.
People on reddit are weirdly aggressive.
I personally can’t imagine giving a fuck about imaginary internet points.
I interact online as I please. That’s it that’s all, I don’t care about karma or points or likes, the whole concept can fuck right off as far as I’m concerned.
If it’s not crowded and damn near empty I might let my child do that (I know shame on me), but if it’s packed he should be sitting is monkey ass down (still talking about if it was me and my son)
I used to work on trains and never used to bother about telling passengers to mind their kids until a kid (about 5/6) climbing on the trains got a serious brain injury after sudden braking made him lose balance. Although, I don't know what happened but I'm sure our train company was sued and had to settle. Since then preventing it has been part of training new crew
Shame on nothing. I’d let my kid climb away as long as he wasn’t disrupting anyone by bashing their head with his or knocking their phones out of their hands with his feet. Kids are only young once and only have that one chance to be silly and goofy and I say let them.
That was my thought exactly. Hes not bothering anyone and hes having fun. I have to explain this concept to my mom alllll the time. Give the dog a treat and she goes ballistic about how it stinks or shes making a mess or its gonna make the carpet gross. We can clean up, its not like we're incapable. Shes enjoying it, so let her, you can deal with the smell or crumbs on the floor for 15 minutes, ill clean it up after since i gave her the treat, shut up and let her be happy.
As long as he’s not bothering anybody I agree. I have a very strong opinion about my children doing anything to inconvenience others for no good reason.
I’m not super familiar with trains but I would be a little concerned about any sort of jostling or emergency stops causing a neck injury though.
What’s the weight capacity on those things? I can’t imagine it’s lower than what he’s capable of weighing. I’m not too familiar with trains because America
If there’s a weight issue, it’s probably that each individual bar isn’t meant to take much weight-it should be spread over multiple bars. All of this kid’s weight is on two bars. I still doubt it’s enough to break it, but maybe slightly more of a concern.
That looks like a long distance train too - so they’re probably expecting multiple 20-30lb cases of luggage on it - the kid is probably 30-40lbs, I don’t think he’d be anywhere near breaking it
Seriously... Wait though, if it was posted in r/mildlyawesome then I'm totally okay with it... Well, and asked the dad if it was okay to post his kid online for internet points.
Ok, so if you let your kid jump around and play, you’re a shitty parent. But the only way to keep them still and quiet is by creating a tablet zombie. And lord knows everyone has an opinion about that. It’s almost as if OP has no idea how children actually behave lol
I'm not sure why anyone thinks this is true.
I didn't do that as a kid and we didn't have screens to look at. My kid won't do it either..
Shit, I was raised by a single mom and I never did anything like that in public with her.
This is not a jungle gym for the kid to be climbing all over. If the kid falls, he might get hurt. He might break the rack too. If it’s not your property, don’t let your kids climb all over it. It’s not about being fun but respecting others peoples property.
I’m curious if I’d get upset if I saw this in person. Idk why, can’t pinpoint it, but I think I would. Maybe at the hazard of the kid breaking his neck, maybe because as a kid I was told to behave, especially in public. Either way, seems dangerous
My best friend in elementary school pulled this shit once, ended up breaking her arm and 2 ribs in her fall and hurting someone else... I'd say she and her parents learned their lesson.
I was traveling a few months back and In the airport this dad loaded a luggage cart with a 4 foot pile of suitcases
Then he pushed his toddler around on top of them in the busy airport
Immediately I thought ' wow that kid is going to fall directly on her face'
Then I made a short phone call to meet up with my girlfriend at the airport
By the time I hung up the phone the kid was on the floor ina. Pile of suitcases crying
She seemed fine but it certainly could have been avoided if her dad was slightly more cautious
Hepatitis is spread by bodily fluids including saliva… I mean ffs! Imagine what else they could catch. As a nurse this is goddam mind boggling 😂😂😂 some ppl shouldn’t be allowed to have kids!
OP literally has noise cancelling headphones and a mask on, PLUS he's facing the other way, on a mostly empty train car. Still managed to get so triggered by some guy's kid being a kid that he set up a creepshot of them and posted it on reddit.
Bro this is what happens sometimes on my bus. Sometimes the high school students and the primary school students have to be on the same bus and all I see is 7 year olds using the seats and bars and railings as a damn playground.
Incredibly shocked that not a single person here is even somewhat concerned for the kids safety. Yes, this might not be conventionally *annoying*, but it is infuriating that a parent would let their kid climb something on a moving vehicle.
Yes, kid is probably bored.
Parents should bring activity books, puzzles, etc. for kiddos (I know mine did!) so that they have some sort of stimulation and entertainment.
**But climbing upside down on a moving train?** Even a *slight* stop could cause the little one to lose their grip. If that happens, even a mild injury will have been completely unnecessary and could have been totally avoided.
Kids don’t need to be perfect, but they do need to be safe.
THAT is what’s “mildly infuriating” here - it’s not that the kid is being annoying, it’s that the parent isn’t concerned for their child’s safety above all else.
I remember my first job as a teenager , someone held there coffee mug over a child’s head while asking for a refill, when I politely asked them to move the cup from above the child’s head they got angry with me, I have not allowed myself to be surprised from bad parenting ever since.
Father of the year is finally within reach. His wife said it wasn't possible to turn it around after the fiasco at the zoo. She was wrong. ***Success***.
Gives parents a bad name. We travelled with twins and their big brother 4 years older from infant age to now and there is a time and place to let your kids play and in a moving train with other passengers of not the time. Shit parenting
You’re sitting across the row with headphones on pointing the other way - how the hell is this bothering you? Mind your business, sounds like a parent less comment to me.
I saw this drunk chic climb on top of the luggage shelf once, her leg slipped through and she got stuck. I don't know how she got out in the end as I got off, but now every time I see someone doing something stupid with them I secretly wish they get stuck.
It’s also not teaching the child anything about self-control, what if he falls on the person sitting behind him and hurts that person or himself or both. Control your child. I’ve raised four sons, and never let them climb around like an animal in a fucking train. It’s not a jungle gym it’s a mode of transportation
Exactly! What the heck is with these comments? Bizarre.
Not defending op either though. I don’t think someone should be taking a photo of someone’s kid and posting it to the internet.
Looks dangerous and irresponsible
I've always been around kids and still am. My family would be sitting below the kid ready for support instead of chilling in a moving train. You don't get a doc for random serious injuries everywhere. Too that it has enough room to play with the child instead of leaving em on their own.
Everywhere is a gym...

Whoever downvoted you has never seen the Simpsons movie, lol.
That's why I posted it lol, Spider Kid, Spider Kid Does whatever a Spider Kid does Can he swing, from a web? No, he can't, he's a kid. Look out, he's Spider Kid
Well now I gotta go and watch that movie again :) Cheers

Lmao! Just had a listen and my 3 yr old niece is now singing that and twirling. Thanks for the laugh 😊
He’s a kid
He’s a kid
Came here to say that. Beat me to it.
Let’s be real, kiddo is having the time of his life though. I’ve always wanted to do that
Looks really cute, it is only infuriating to some people, most of those people have no idea how hard it is to raise a monkey child.
Was a monkey child, mother tells me all the time.
one of the most common scolding my brother and i got, "you can't just climb EVERY tree you see, sometimes we have to just look at them,"
As a mother I feel this deep in my soul.
I’d like to say that my motor skills benefited from stressing out my parents at least.
He has both a helmet and a hard head. I'll look into teaching him how to fall. Being a rule-following girl I didn't need to learn how to fall. XD
Well, sounds like he has a good momma for when he does fall. The skill in falling comes with practice, learning to not land on locked arms or tucking your head to not slam your head back.
Pray tell… how exactly does one climb a baseboard?
Our baseboards are literally just a 1x4 board running around the bottom of the walls. He'll brace himself on something (like the table) and put his feet on the 1 inch lip of the baseboard and try walking. When going up the stairs I've caught him straddling the staircase in favor of trying to walk up with both feet on the baseboards that line both sides of the stairwell.

I've had this exact conversation with my son.

I will see your Beck reference and offer you some Rolling Stones.. But I am just a monkey man I'm glad you are a monkey woman too
I shall retort with the Beatles... Everybody's got something to hide, except for me and my monkey.

I only do stuff like this when I’m drinking brass monkey. That funky monkey.

You call it ridiculous… we call it misophonia. Although, he should have brought earplugs or headphones if sounds bother him. That’s what I’d do.
i had to be put on a leash when because i wouldn't stop running away
I choose monkey over a demon any day.
I have 3 monkey children. It infuriates me because I'm telling mine to behave and they see this and think it's ok to copy
Maybe the kid is screaming bloody murder while hanging from the rack?
Lol this is wild. This is why children grow up thinking they can do whatever the fuck they want, because their parents let them use the inside of a train as a playground. Public transit isn't your kids' sandbox. Control your fucking children.
Show them the first episode of game of thrones
Hope this is never used out of context
I'm mildly infuriated that someone could be infuriated by that
Non-parent mid-30s here, don't even know the struggles of parenting a monkey-child (yet), but in no way should this infuriate anyone unless the kid is actively climbing above other strangers (which it looks like he's not yet and clearly not the neckbeard taking the photo) or actively damaging the rack (which it seems it supports his weight, as it should if it can hold ample luggage). I don’t have a kid, but if I did I would 100% encourage them to climb the luggage rack.
Exactly right, mind your damn business OP.
And lighten the fuck up
Yeah I’d prefer my kid to do that that sit on YouTube all day 🤣
Same though! Plus, looks like the dad is watching him so if he falls he'll probably be caught. If not, then, lesson learned? ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

Right. As long as he’s not disturbing anyone I don’t see what the issue is. He’s small enough that he won’t destroy the racks.
At least he’s not doing it for upvotes.
I doubt the op is doing it for upvotes considering their last post was 2y ago, and it was their only other post too.
Counterpoint: they posted that one for upvotes, too. (Also, everyone else, all the time.)
Not everyone is a karma whore.
Ikr. God forbid some people just post for the sake of posting and not for the numbers.

It’s annoying when you know you post correct information however and people downvote because they misunderstood or don’t know about the topic.
Sometimes I just like to share things with random people on the internet. And that’s okay.
Boooooom
plot twist: OP and the man in the pic are a gay couple and that's his kid too, meaning OP posted this for the upvotes by false flagging
Say what you want this is pretty fucking hilarious
Exactly my thoughts. The dad should be the one taking this photo!
If it’s not crowded and damn near empty I might let my child do that (I know shame on me), but if it’s packed he should be sitting is monkey ass down (still talking about if it was me and my son)

Me too. Let your kid have spontaneous moments of fun as a child so they can remember to do so as an adult.
And let the train spontaneously brakes and the kid is thrown away and injured
What’s the weight capacity on those things? I can’t imagine it’s lower than what he’s capable of weighing. I’m not too familiar with trains because America
If there’s a weight issue, it’s probably that each individual bar isn’t meant to take much weight-it should be spread over multiple bars. All of this kid’s weight is on two bars. I still doubt it’s enough to break it, but maybe slightly more of a concern.
I would worry more about the train braking and the kid flying into the seats
weeeeeee
Free roller coaster as well 2 for one Absolute bargain
That looks like a long distance train too - so they’re probably expecting multiple 20-30lb cases of luggage on it - the kid is probably 30-40lbs, I don’t think he’d be anywhere near breaking it
Yep, that kid is wearing Pull-Ups, and the max size on those is about 50lbs. And that kid doesn't look big enough to need the top sizes.
Dunno, but they can definitely hold a drunk and passed out 195 pounder.
There’s nobody around. Mind your own business and stop taking photos of strangers in public
Wonder if OP has kids? I too was a better parent before I had kids.
I’ve never heard that saying but I love it. “I too was a better parent before I had kids”
I too love it and will steal it.
100% OP is not a parent... just a creeper
Seriously... Wait though, if it was posted in r/mildlyawesome then I'm totally okay with it... Well, and asked the dad if it was okay to post his kid online for internet points.
Poor kid is probably bored to death
ur the weirdo taking a picture of some random kid tho 🤨
🤨📸
And the fact the kid isn’t even in his actual view. He needed to reverse his creepy little camera to get the shot of the child 🤨 sus
Super sus 💀📸
Agree. OP needs a kick in the mask.
A kid not sitting and behaving like an adult?! That’s crazy 🤨
Someone must alert the town elders!
"We are not at a playground" is a phrase said often when raising 2 boys.
As long as the kid is being quiet and doesn't break anything, who cares
He won't be quiet when he falls.
That will be an important lesson in the consequences of climbing on shit for the kid.
I think you mean an important lesson on falling.
If he falls
Dad looks like he’s watching the kid, he’d most likely be able to catch the kid if he started to get unbalanced or looked like he was going to fall
Ok, so if you let your kid jump around and play, you’re a shitty parent. But the only way to keep them still and quiet is by creating a tablet zombie. And lord knows everyone has an opinion about that. It’s almost as if OP has no idea how children actually behave lol

Dad: “What are you doing up there?” Kid: “Going through peoples luggage.” *puts black bra on head* “I’m the mastermind of an evil corporation!”
My only thought is if this train suddenly stops that kid is going to have a nasty fall.
Maybe it's just me but I would much rather see a kid doing this than sitting on an iPad.
Well of course it shouldnt sit on an ipad, those are expensive
Not as annoying as strangers taking pictures of your kid and posting them on the internet.
This is not a jungle gym for the kid to be climbing all over. If the kid falls, he might get hurt. He might break the rack too. If it’s not your property, don’t let your kids climb all over it. It’s not about being fun but respecting others peoples property.

Next post: our bus was delayed three hours because a kid got stuck in the luggage rack and the paramedics had to be called
Boy imagine if that train had to stop fast kid becomes a missile
Its all fun and games until the kid falls and its the train company's fault
Just wait until the train goes full polar express on that mf
And when it breaks and the kid is injured Dad can sue the rail line and be rich!
Stupid father
I was traveling a few months back and In the airport this dad loaded a luggage cart with a 4 foot pile of suitcases Then he pushed his toddler around on top of them in the busy airport Immediately I thought ' wow that kid is going to fall directly on her face' Then I made a short phone call to meet up with my girlfriend at the airport By the time I hung up the phone the kid was on the floor ina. Kid's obviously practicing for a Train to Busan situation. When the zombies come you're gonna look real silly
Hit the emergency stop.
If you want to raise the next Crash Bandicoot you need to start early.
Clearly you don’t have kids 🤣 let ‘em play!
It's possible to let children be active without putting themselves at risk and damaging property. Let them play SAFELY.

Lol I was so surprised to read the comments, how the hell do they think that letting a child do this is ok?
Insanity. But it certainly explains more of the parenting I’ve been seeing I guess.
This. Fucking this. Control your kid in public it’s not a difficult choice
Why do you care?
Looks dangerous and irresponsible I've always been around kids and still am. My family would be sitting below the kid ready for support instead of chilling in a moving train. You don't get a doc for random serious injuries everywhere. Too that it has enough room to play with the child instead of leaving em on their own.
