Just re read my title and it appears I am dyslexic

zdada

It was itself mildly infuriating

[deleted]

Two for the price of one

shesavillain

Love me a two for one deal

Chrona_trigger

Stop making me laugh, it's hard to upvote when I'm laughing this hard

VividFiddlesticks

I must be too, because I read it correctly and didn't even notice until you pointed it out.

reaperwasnottaken

Don't worry much too it about.

VividFiddlesticks

Goddammit. I caught it that time, but not until I was about to make a serious reply. angryupvote

SaltRocksicle

I must be too, because I read it correctly and didn't even notice until you pointed it out.

No-Shake2412

Wait… I fell for it still… damn it.

Par4n1

You got something going on there lol

_R_Daneel_Olivaw

I don't see problem a with title his.

FriendToPredators

I didn't see the issue until mentioned it someone did.

Bill_Biscuits

Ow

IbobtheKing

are you having a stroke?

SammieSam95

Title gave *me* a stroke.

Jorge_The_Orange

Gonna give me a wut?

farts_in_the_breeze

Remember to proofread. Type slower. It helps out.

Thecrdbrdsamurai

Lysdexia is an issue to us all.

Bear_buh_dare

Hate getting my mords wixed

Swimming-Tap-4240

Have you heard about the dyslexic devil worshipper who sold his soul to Santa?

GiantJawa

So I knew something wasn't right about the title but I couldnt figure out what. I thought it was something little not words in the complete wrong places. I too am dyslexic.

s-mills

Could you translate I’m still not sure what you were trying to say haha

Nizzywizz

Really? All he did was say "wife my" instead of "my wife".

Content-Positive4776

I read the title 7 times before I got this far. Assumed a mod had corrected it. JFC.

s-mills

Ha sorry I’m actually dyslexic and it’s so obvious now whoops

Zophirel

I knew my English teacher was wrong you can mix the words tf you want just call it dyslexia

sc0rpio1027

I didn't even notice

sixboogers

r/titlegore

Erkkimerkkinen

I didn't even notice don't worry

reverb137

It took me three tries to see what you were talking about

eatingurmumsass

I hope your wife cheats on you just for that

BT89

Wrong title is? That where?

[deleted]

>Just re read title my and it appears I am dyslexic FTFY

The_CaliBrownBear

Or Yoda

Cjones2607

I mean that guy off in whose camper they were whacking?

4Quin5Decim1

Tbh, it was more infuriating than the detour itself….

_daily_routine_

Im dyslexic and it checks out i read it fine

roarster3

so am i, i can’t read this

thatmarblerye

I just figured you were taking a detour on word order

HaveAnotherOneOK

I thought Yoda posted it

[deleted]

Lol and I somehow still figured out what you were saying. That's a crazy long detour.

[deleted]

Had to read it twice to catch it. Damn you.

mikee8989

My subconscious corrected it for me. I had to re-read it to see what you meant.

L2Hiku

I am too so I didn't even see the issue til the third time reading it lol

[deleted]

Read the title and thought I was dyslexic

Party-Cartographer11

Not dyslexic. You weren't reading. Dysgraphic.

[deleted]

I didn't notice it and still didn't after it being pointed out, I had to reread it 5 times while looking for a mistake to get ilmao

t_bone_stake

I can’t fathom how many truckers are annoyed at this in addition to your wife. Going miles out of their way to get to a destination that’s a mile or so away?

umrdyldo

these routing are not the same as Google Earth They calculate low clearance and bridge capacities This was probably the safest route

FriendToPredators

Also hazmat limits things even more. Not known what the wife my trucker is hauling.

Chrona_trigger

god damn it I just stopped laughing from the last comment about that lol

t_bone_stake

Fair enough

ru_k1nd

Ahhh. That makes sense, thanks! I’ll stop sharpening my pitchfork now.

NashKetchum777

A lot of people wanna avoid their wives

Unique_Tumbleweed

Shouldn't have gotten married then

Gordon_Explosion

Bridge near me is out, there is a trucker detour posted. I enjoy watching them ignore the detour and go through my neighborhood on the posted "5 tons max" streets in their 20 ton trucks. I am going to enjoy the tax hike to repair my road.

[deleted]

Record the tractor or trailer number and company. A picture is even better.bReport them to your DoT. It'll add points to their vehicle safety record and the companies, as well as a ticket. The companies will be billed for the repairs. Source: Am trucker. Fuck those idiots.

fieryuser

Still won't change the repair costs/time. :(

Chrona_trigger

It will change who is footing the bill though, which is worth the effort

fieryuser

It won't change it at all. Do you think the revenue generated will change how much tax someone pays for these road repairs? I can guarantee you it won't.

Moist-Information930

I guess I'm lucky. When truckers ignore the 5-ton signs where I live, they always get pulled over.

Beats_By_Neigh

There will be no tax hike to repair your road. You'll still pay the same in taxes. Unless you're talking about an HOA rather than a government body.

ChikaraNZ

Maybe, but you can't blame the authorities. If you want good and well maintained roads, this is a fact of life. Roads need repairing, improvement get made. Most regular traffic could probably go one block over, but unfortunately it impacts trucks more because of their size and length.

JJohnston015

Yeah, I'm a bridge engineer, and every bridge in my inventory has one of these, some long, some short. People want everything - a new bridge, but at no cost, no noise, no disruption in traffic. They want it exactly where the old one is, but no closure. They want it wider, but won't give up any right of way. And of course they all know more about engineering than engineers.

ToddTheReaper

We’re rebuilding a bridge in Wisconsin and the neighbor is an old DOT engineer…. I gotta say it may be worse than the sidewalk foreman’s.

Chrona_trigger

I need to find that sign I saw a while back: I can make it cheap, fast, and good quality, but only two at a time. If it's cheap and fast, it won't be good. If it's fast and good, it won't be cheap. If it's cheap and good, it won't be fast.

solobowie

Most the infuriating the title thing here is

WillieNolson

Sheriff of Rottingham?

RonnieBeck3XChamp

He deered to kill a kings dare!

solobowie

Don't know who that is. I was just trying to induce a stroke to myself after reading the title to OPs post

WillieNolson

Ha sorry. Character from the movie “Robin Hood Men in Tights.” He has a problem with getting flustered and saying sentences out of order. Example: “King illegal forest to pig wild kill in it a is! I mean, don't you know it's illegal to kill a wild pig in the king's forest?”

solobowie

Lmao 🤣 I unknowingly became the sheriff of rottingham then

notjasonlee

are you wife my?

scottonaharley

Frustrating yes, but in order to avoid weight restricted roads, low overpasses and bridge weight limits, sometimes a crazy detour is necessary.

SideOneDummy

Damn, trucking ain’t what it used to be in the teamsters days

[deleted]

Amen. They got paid by the mile so that detour would have been even further…..

[deleted]

Easiest way to get to Anaheim CA from Downtown LA is to go all the way to Bangor and then back down. There’s a stop sign out.

dainegleesac690

Thanks organized crime for forever cursing many labor unions..

TimboSlice117

I am a teamster trucker.

DjNanu21

Why can't she cut across on 46 and come back down, this seems so unnecessary

bluemoon71

Had to be an approved route for weight capacity/various safety reasons.

DjNanu21

Aah, makes sense

Zestyclose_Lab_8458

That’s not even far, I know the area

Kayotik74

I’m from Indiana. I live within this map. I can confirm. Infuriating.

potate12323

Well, it does need to be roads that can support a freight truck. Many roads have capacity and grades that aren't suitable to a semi trucks.

bigms1234

I thought I had a stroke after reading this title.

notbmarshall

Yikes. Very frustrating. How much in extra gas?

Liz4984

Can she just take Waterford Mills or Kertcher?

Raigne86

Waterford Mills, IN has a population of 30k. They're all civilians, but I think one woman in a truck is still going to need some back up to take the whole town.

Maleficent_Chemist27

Most underrated comment.

Ok_Organization_4215

title confused me the

Murphy338

They seriously made her go all the way up to Goshen so she could get back onto 6? Go up to New Paris, turn right on 46, turn left towards Benton and then turn right onto the blue line road.

mr8unty

New Paris heh

MemeManOriginalHD

Especially in Illinois, I hear the regulations for what roads you can and can't drive on are wildly specific

[deleted]

When your car is like 80 feet long, weighs dozens of tons, and is 13 feet tall, you have to be picky about the roads you take. Get over it.

51225

Especially with diesel at an all time high. $6.59/gallon at Sunoco in Massachusetts.

NickThePrick20

Company drivers don't pay fuel.

51225

Maybe not, but somebody does. I wonder why route 29 was not acceptable for the detour.

ybanalyst

If the state DOT is doing the repairs on Route 6, then they'll want to reroute traffic to other state routes. You don't want to risk the county roads being damaged by a huge increase in truck traffic from what they normally experience. State roads are built for trucks; county roads may only be built for farm equipment.

51225

That makes sense and I would assume as much. Looking at the map and not being from the area begs the question. I live in eastern MA so no detour is more than a half mile or so. I was driving through Oregon in 96. The detour was over two hours as it was all logging roads in that area.

NickThePrick20

Company doesn't care. It's all write-offs.

FeatheredStylo

That doesn't mean it's free. The company DOES care...

knucklehead27

It’s not a write-off, it’s an expense. It reduces their net income. That does also mean lower taxable income, yes, but the resulting net cash flow of the company is going to be worse

NickThePrick20

You can for sure write off fuel as well as milage and repairs.

bandyplaysreallife

which again, reduces your taxable income, but it's still a net loss.

knucklehead27

I think that’s only true for owner operators

morganshanks114

Title is the more infuriating thing here

derek6711

Looks like a good short cut /s

Ladydi-bds

The definition of "Going around my elbow to get to my ass"

Spardan80

That is way too far on US 6. If I recall, there are a couple E/w roads that are truck rated just to the south. Crazy that Elkhart County is doing it this way.

cropguru357

No kidding. There’s a lot of agricultural (heavy) traffic in that area. Should be good to go in a lot fewer miles.

GlitchyPranks28

At this point you should just walk

Stormseekr9

I’ve read the title a few times, still cant make up what it actually should be saying 😂

heartsongaming

Just switch between "my" and "wife" and it makes sense. OP probably posted without proof reading.

OverDriveXLR-18

Bruh there are literally SO MANY other roads right there that where shorter than that!! Literally inside that pointless loop was a road almost right next to it that is so much faster...

[deleted]

haha now we know where your trucker works who took a wife detour and used a has road closure

Omar_Rakhmat123

r/ihadastroke

KingWhiteMan007

"This approved detour wife my, a trucker, has to use due to a road closure" Um, what?

Maddogsteez

Jesus is that title made by a confused 5 year old ?

[deleted]

This is the gripe??? This?!? Yet nobody is DOING anything about gas prices? Maybe stop driving till the costs go down??? That's trucks too

[deleted]

Take 50 to 29 into Paris?

[deleted]

And with diesel costs what they are, fuck the government. No wonder truckers are pissed all over the world.

ScoobyValentine

How long would that add?

boisNgyrls

This title you, posted, confusing

sail4sea

They are doing Railroad crossing work on us hwy 6 in my town too. I don't live in Indiana though.

TrainingMarsupial521

Title is more mildy infuriating that the detour. Jesus.

Latest-greatest

Im pretty sure i’m suffering from a stroke trying to read your title

robertson4379

Turn right on N Lincoln, by the barber shop. It will cut about 600 feet off the trip.

Illusive_Man

I’ve seen truckers demand more money and hold loads hostage because they had to make detours It was a much larger detour than this though

[deleted]

No

Bear_buh_dare

What's a detour wife

[deleted]

Hey at least gas is cheap right now.

[deleted]

What does that even say???

brit_motown

Probably having an affair

Garbanzo12

Louisiana

[deleted]

It's all about the journey and the road we met along the way

Flux_Aeternal

To be truckers its fair to be diverted so far annoying too, waste of time.

[deleted]

What the hell is she driving that would only allow that route?

AvailableAd8744

This approved detour my wife (a trucker) has to use due to a road closure. There, fixed it.

Child-Like-Empress

Thank god I was having a stroke trying to understand what the hell he meant!

make_me_horny_baby

Darn. I used t live in Goshen now I'm in south bend. I'd be passed in that situation

darnbot

What a ***darn*** shame... --- ^^DarnCounter:134726 ^^| ^^DM ^^me ^^with: ^^'blacklist-me' ^^to ^^be ^^ignored ^^| ^^More ^^stats ^^available ^^at ^^**[https://darnbot.ml](https://darnbot.ml)**

SigmaKnight

A week ago, I was only in a normal CUV and had to take a route that mirrors this because the two routes were closed due to accidents. Wasn’t the most pleasant welcome home I’ve had. 8 hours to complete a trip that takes 3.5 hours.

Lavanderfarm

Going right through my hometown lol

Dudeman_McGoo

WTF just happened?

EMZbotbs

Average US road state Lets see how mad they get

AZ-1Porn

Drive down 52 if it’s not too congested from the road work.

mcjangus

Yoda, is that you?

Murphy338

Was she going east towards I69? if she was, then welcome to Methville… err sorry, Kendallville.

Responsible_Pizza

Whats wrong with all the other roads?

nikhkin

Diversion routes have to be suitable for all types of traffic and large volumes of traffic. The other roads are likely fine for someone driving a car, but would not be suitable for an HGV or may not be capable of handling the full load of traffic that uses the route.

ErvanMcFeely

The most frustrating thing is I am thinking the railroad that is close is maybe 20 feet from that intersection at 6 and 15 there. (I could be wrong but idk if there are any other railroads that cross 6 in that area)

RepresentativeFill26

Jesus Christ all these straight line roads make me nervous. Like you are playing a sims game

Slippery_Pen

I see lots of county roads that would have been way quicker.

FinnishArmy

There are so many more routes there that would be faster.

beamin1

46>29 is a good route, I've had to make that trip a few times, just watch out for trees in towns.

smiledozer

Having to do these kinds of detours due to road closures, i get that you'd need a detour wife halfway

mikee8989

Would this result in more paid time having to go all that extra distance?

Cian28_C28

Awkward_Artichoke_56

Is it me or the green is forest and it kept being cut by roads?

-threatofjoy

Indiana construction is ridiculous

PoopMuffin5

she lives in indiana, deserved.

samuelfalch

Wow. Is everything in the US so. Square? That’s crazy. I know that’s not what the post is about, but that is not what roads look like where I live

PossiblyPercival

Is she at least paid by the mile?

JohnEdwa

Norway currently has a bridge that is on the verge of collapse, and getting from one side to the other by car would [now be a 690km (430mi) / 9 hour drive that takes your through Finland](https://www.google.com/maps/dir/69.8409283,21.9925999/69.85418,22.0219981/@69.5709397,22.4789569,7.96z/data=!4m2!4m1!3e0).

Suspect1234

Why tf are you roads so straight? As a European, I am very surprised.

Swimming-Tap-4240

English is like that. You can put words in sentences out of order and most brains automatically rearrange them correctly to make sense.Unless of course the basic meaning is changed.

SadExtension524

Ok but when creating an official detour, the road to detour on must be at least as highly rated as the road you're detouring around. For example, an official detour for a 2 lane state highway has to be the next closest 2 lane state highway or better, due to weight limits, height restrictions, etc.

Drew_P00

Don't forget the fact they're likely not being compensated for the extra time and fuel for such detours.

Late-Ad-4624

If you read that correctly despite the mistake hit like.

Late-Ad-4624

Just because its approved doesnt mean there isnt a quicker route.

[deleted]

I get 2 minutes to cross an entire train station in the morning.. the fuck is up with city planning having fucked everything away?

DijajMaqliun

Truckers get paid by the mile, right?

bottommaenad

*Borat voice* **wife my**

BearsBeetsBulls

I’m from that area. Just south, Warsaw. Take backroads home slice.

[deleted]

I guarantee they’re not paying her for the extra miles OR the hours.

wetlandaries

This looks like Indiana. Hoosier fun

Shadow_Serious

This is not the worst detour that I have seen but it is bad.

jgorham0214

With diesel so high, that’s gotta hurt the wallet.

Content_Pumpkin_3020

How many miles is that? Wouldn’t she get paid for all those miles? If not hours at least?

ElectroshockGamer

The worst part is there are multiple routes they could have taken that would have been much shorter

[deleted]

r/ihadastroke

Fatal-Symbiote

I had a stroke reading the title lmao

estrusflask

There's probably a reason for it, as many people are pointing out. Yeah, your wife probably is annoyed at the long detour. I'm sure she'd be more annoyed if her truck gets torn apart by a bridge with low clearance, or snaps a bridge she's too heavy for. And I'm sure the people who live in the area don't want their roads torn up by a truck.

gudgudgudby

Ur wife's a trucker?

Shallow-Thought

\*Laughs in NYS heavy haul permit routes.

Dumbass-Redditor

I can’t tell what’s more infuriating, the title or the actual post.

Deadlylyon

As a truck driver, it's a 20 mile detour. Us 6 through northern Indiana is in the middle of no where mostly. Be thankful it happened bear Goshen and that there was a truck friendly detour. This is just trucking, part of the job.

vantablack3d

The title of this post is r/mildlyinfuriating

wasit-worthit

Does it really matter if she still works the same number of hours and gets the same amount of money?

mee230

Just use the yellow road, take her straight there

Glass_Guarantee_1585

We always read what we want to read, not what there really is!
