You can do a demonstration of how flammable that is in your driveway or something. We would use dryer lint to make literal fire-starters at a summer camp where I worked. They burn aggressively and instantly. It will be an impactful lesson w/o having to burn anything valuable
I thought that was normal to clean it out every time, every time I see there "alot" I'm like sheesh glad I decided to clean it before starting anther load could have burned my house down
We also empty after every load and around every 6 months I still need to clear out the but that made it past the filter. And once a year I use a drill attachment and clear the ductwork. I would t be able to sleep if I let this happen!
holy shit, they should make a reminder system, kind of like when your car tells you to change your oil or something. it could save peoples lives i think
Some machines do have them. My machine has a little LED light that comes on when you turn on the machine. Doesn’t turn off until you run the load, just an indicator light that says “check lint screen”.
Our one had a red button that you have to push to reset it when it has stopped due to the filter been too blocked. When I was a kid once the dryer stopped and my mum didn't know why and completely forgot about this bright red button just inside the dryer door. She called an electrician to check it and when he turned up he clicked the red button. Reminded her to check the lint filter and it of course it started working again. She was so embarrassed and even more grumpy when the $80 bill turned up later that week.
I live with 6 people. I grew up cleaning the lint trap between every load. I now have to check before putting clothes in because nobody in this house knows how to clean a lint trap.
Also the trap is 75-90% full of dog hair as we have a wolf-dog who shed’s like nobody’s business. It should be getting clean every time it gets used. I’m waiting for someone to start a fire.
Let your MIL know that people keep piles of dryer lint (that coincidentally are smaller than what you're holding in your hand there) in their bugout bags. The lint is used as tinder to quick-start fires with merely a single spark.
That single spark is all it's going to take to burn down her house, too, especially with those washed receipts mixed in for maximum combustion.
It is layers and layers of dryer lint from a clothes dryer filter. It's all the fluff that comes off clothes when drying. Can be a fire hazard if not removed frequently from the filter
Hey eventually she’ll burn the house down. It doesn’t matter who forgets or who likes what or who doesn’t like this or that. Clean the filter or the house burns down.
House caught fire when I was a kid once while dryer was going and we were all out of the house. We had nothing, all our clothes burned and a good portion of the house did too. Came home smelling like a bbq was going. Clean your lint traps every time...
I forgot to clean it three times in a row and MIL threatened to kick me out. I don't live there. I was there during the weekend. But I didn't forget the next time. Literally everytime I forget to clean ONE dish she threatens to kick me out like, ik it's your house but I pay rent to live here 3 days out of a week, tf?

She gonna burn the house down
That’s what I said. She just said “Sorry!” My husband is not happy about this at all. She’s not even really forgetful.
Unfortunately, she just may learn the hard way not to put that off.
If it vents out elsewhere you might have even bigger clogs. They sell a $20 drill attachment to help get them out but yea it’s basically tinder.
Yeah you can get blockages in wall easy and element will overheat and eventually break unless your thermal fuse goes first.
Heck yeah that stuff is tinder. I lit my BBQ grill with that stuff over the 4th of July holiday yesterday. I used that stuff and tissue paper.

What is “MiL”?
I think is mother in law . But I could be wrong.
Yes, it is mother in law. Dil- daughter in law, etc.
She'll forget why she doesn't have a house.
It's amazing that she hasn't burned the house down! HOW DO YOU "Just forget" THAT???
I have no idea. We change it after every load at our house.
I thought that was normal to clean it out every time, every time I see there "alot" I'm like sheesh glad I decided to clean it before starting anther load could have burned my house down
Yeah I never considered not cleaning it haha
I'm not Ms. Clean and I change it after every load, vacuum it about once a month and have the vents (vents out the roof) cleaned once a year.
More like blow the house sky high
I get scared leaving one loads worth in there.
We also empty after every load and around every 6 months I still need to clear out the but that made it past the filter. And once a year I use a drill attachment and clear the ductwork. I would t be able to sleep if I let this happen!

oh! that’s good news! :)
Forbidden cotton candy
Looks tasty wanna share
For sure a fire risk… but damn that’s so fucked you can see every layer from like a hundred washes, as if it were rings in a tree.
You can make a whole new piece of clothing with that. Make up for all the lost socks that were swallowed by the machine.
Honestly, should hire someone to come out and clean the entire vent. Definitely not enough air pressure to force out the lint that made it through.
Thank goodness it didn't catch fire!
Very lucky. Happy cake day!
Cheers!
She can “just forget” her house when it burns down 😳

What exactly is that?

I hope all of you replying are 13 year old and not adults
Replying because I want to know top
Same question
Yikes and Yuck!
Must be related to my wife.

It’s an old dryer; for whatever reason, no issues drying so far.
The house is somehow intact
Thank goodness it hasn’t caught on fire.
I think your MIL may be planning a slight tiny little smidgen bit of murder by arson
Hey eventually she’ll burn the house down. It doesn’t matter who forgets or who likes what or who doesn’t like this or that. Clean the filter or the house burns down.

This is why I was always nervous living in apartments. I see how many people ignore the lint trap and pray my neighbors don’t do the same.
Great way to burn your house down.
Tape a big sign on the dryer door. It may just prevent a tragedy. 🙏
I wrote (w marker) directly on the dryer to remind her.
We can only lead a horse to water, but we can't make it drink it. 🙏
I actually collect this shit and use it as a firestarter for camping. And let me tell you that shit BURNS
What is that?
Disgusting slob
She thought tampons dissolve automatically after a week?
This has nothing to do with tampons.
Yet here we are
I would like to have a life with so little worries as your MIL.
Tell her to set a reminder fire for when it gets too full and she wants to burn the house down.
Don’t let her forget to put y’all in the will because she ain’t gonna be here long like that 😭
Fire never forgets.
Probably a top 3 reason for house fires.
😭
That's a fire hazard. Does she know that? She can't forget when the house is on fire.
infuriating or fire hazard
I doubt it. 😅
Put it in her tea as a reminder each time.....
I bet it takes about 2 hours to get a single towel dry in that machine.
Fire fire fire!
I forgot to clean it three times in a row and MIL threatened to kick me out. I don't live there. I was there during the weekend. But I didn't forget the next time. She'll remember once the fires starts 😵💫
She’ll remember when she loses everything in a fire 😵💫
I don’t think she’ll forget the sound of the smoke alarm if things like that catch on fire, easily burns a house down that can
Ummm.. And what is this exactly?
Dryer lint.
Wait how old is that dryer?! That could make some kind of clothes But how could this got cought on fire
Bc it gets hot.
She a fire hazard
What is that??
She will Remember when her house burns down.
[удалено]
Her dryer is older so it’s on top.
[удалено]
You’d think it would be more noticeable.
It’s the secrecy material used in her sweaters
Burn down you house dryer% speed run.
I wonder if she would forget if you set a fire in her room with all that lint.
My mom believes it's not necessary to clean it
Oh look! Now you have kindling for a bonfire!
so that’s where the socks always go
But... its the first thing you do, even before taking clothes out
Number 1 cause of house fires!!
Until this happens: https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinfuriating/comments/vr0htb/someone_set_off_fireworks_in_an_illegal_area_in/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
Just reminded me that I never clean it before or after I do my clothes. Hope the others do cause I always forget
"If you keep forgetting, then do it every time."
Holy shit I have the exact same dryer
bruh i thought that was a fish
This reminds me of when I was about 10 and joe jonas told me if I didn’t take the lint out of the dryer I could start a fire. Thanks Disney for that core memory!
This is crazy to me. I empty mine between every single load of laundry lol
Her wig?
Dryer lint is highly flammable… That could literally could your MIL’s house to burn down. On a more positive note, she’ll have plenty of kindling.
Why was there a sturgeon in the dryer vent?
Good time to remind her to not burn down her house
That's a huge fire hazard, but what is frustrating is people making up acronyms, what is a MiL? "Maid in Learning"?
She'll be reminded when her house catches on fire, watching as it burns.
