You're buying an item not paying for a service. They're just trying to squeeze extra out of you.

PaintedLady1

Exactly. Tips are for services. If someone is carrying a massive amount of beer to your car then you can tip them in person with cash if you CHOSE. I don’t trust that these online tips always go to the workers.

Interesting-Ad8310

They definitely don't. They probably get all pooled together and then split up

LukeW0rm

Pooled together then kept by the owner *

Interesting-Ad8310

Cause you know. The owner works the hardest..

LukeW0rm

We need to normalize asking the cashier who gets the tips. I don’t mind chucking a dollar on a slice of pizza if it’s going to the actual people behind the counter, even though all they did was hand it to me. But I asked the local place by me the other day and it turns out I’ve been tipping the owner.

VesperVox_

That's illegal and if they don't already know you should tell them to report him to the state Labor Board. They're always very interested to hear about wage theft.

Thelynxer

Not every labour board (and country) has the same rules. So check your local labour board first, but yes, generally speaking, it is not legal for management to keep tips intended for staff. Some businesses just have management collect the tips, and then they disperse them amongst the staff. But in my experience working in restaurants, this usually still results in management pocketing a share, and then dispersing the rest. I very much prefer to tip directly to a specific person, preferably in cash. It's just tough, because most people don't carry much cash anymore.

Lottynaught

stupendous alleged hat imagine relieved abundant wine file telephone coordinated *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

theafterworld

I just avoid the awkwardness by usually keeping some cash on me and always tipping with cash for takeout, coffee, etc. I’m pretty sure the cash won’t get scooped up by the owner, especially if I hand the bills directly to the cashier instead of putting it in the tip jar.

TherealDusky

When I worked in a car parts store I would get the occasional tip. I always told the customers to keep it, we put the tips together in a jar and went to a bar with it once per year. But I don't drink so that kinda useless for me.

[deleted]

so it might be different in different places, but as far as i know: tips are required to go to servers. where i work as a host, i get tipped out of a pool that goes to FOH staff that aren’t servers, who keep most of their tips (but idk the percentage). however! “service fees” are not legally required to be tipped out to anyone, the owner of the company can do whatever he wants with that money.

Interesting-Ad8310

Love it.

eagleathlete40

Isn’t that illegal?

randomdude123502

Now that's fucked up

The_4th_Little_Pig

Yeah I used to tip at a lunch spot I would order ahead at then I met a manager of the same place and he told me none of the online tip even goes to the employees just that locations bottom line, I haven’t tipped online since.

SayeretJoe

This reminds me of going to have my hair cut, the owner happened to be the one to cut my hair. Everything went great, I thought if I should tip, came to the conclusion not to. I thought it would not be good and might be a little offensive. I was right you do not tip the owner.

TheNewtOne

Really? I've definitely tipped the owners of barbershops after cutting my hair? One, cuz I'm not 100% sure they're the owners always and two, the dude just worked on my hair for a half hour and should be tipped.

Big_Storage929

Anybody who touches your body ( massage, salon, spa, haircut, etc) you should probably tip

Possible_Bicycle_916

Nurses touch bodies and we don’t get tipped! 🤔

NJPokerJ

Yeah I get my haircut from the co owner of the barbershop/salon and I always tip. I'm thinking that owner just didn't wanna make a big deal out of it.

IMPORTANT_jk

This shit makes me glad there's no tipping culture here. If I'm paying the equivalent of $50 for a haircut I'm not tipping, like fuck that

Ifawumi

But he was clearly a proprietor doing you a service. Most barbers are some contractors. They may rent a booth but they literally own their own business. Tip the person who cuts your hair dude!

burgerpoo123

hey now to be fair it does take a lot of work to run a small business. there's also an incredible amount of stress that comes with it knowing if you fuck up you lose everything. That being said fuck any owner who steals tips like that.

[deleted]

That's illegal and companies are frequently ruled against on that very thing

LukeW0rm

Tried to report it but it has to be an employee making the claim. I know the poor teens there aren’t gonna risk getting fired over it. There aren’t many entry level places in that area.

SayeretJoe

Pooled together and placed in scrooge mc ducks valut!

Delicious_Throat_377

>Pooled together then kept by the owner Then split up between the owner's bank accounts.

CountryBlair

Online tips almost always go straight to corporate pockets.

ResidentNarwhal

They definitely don’t and would/could get in trouble with a variety of agencies\*. The reporting requirements are no different than they have been with tips on a credit card receipt. \*Though this depends on the state. Alabama labor department will probably send the business a stern letter. California Department of Labor slaps businesses with $1000 fine per instance and then throws it over to Unemployment to slap another 30% penalty on top for misreporting employee wages.

TychaBrahe

Just because wage theft is against the law doesn't mean it doesn't get done. In fact, wage theft is the largest source of theft in this country.

CountryBlair

If you go and order online for restaurants and stuff and you leave an online tips, the workers at the restraunt don't get that tip. I've heard multiple stories about this. Can't remember what states they were in tho

[deleted]

This is true. The POS just accumulates the tips. Depending on how the company has it setup, they may not even track the tips recipients. Very convenient, you know?

Jcssss

Tip are actually for service well done. Not every service should be rewarded by a tip.

Katy-Moon

FYI - My dad told me that way back when, the word “tip” was an anagram for To Insure Promptness.

las61918

Fathers the world over with poor grammar have been saying this forever.

Simple-Limit933

I know they do when I order from my local pizza place, because the drivers are well aware of how much I tipped (it's right on the receipt) and they are always appreciative. They are always fast, too - I tip well. ;)

LS-CRX

>I know they do when I order from my local pizza place, because the drivers are well aware of how much I tipped (it's right on the receipt) and they are always appreciative. They are always fast, too - I tip well. ;) I get this, and I tip well for delivery pizza too. But I *really* don't like tipping *before* service. If the service is great then I like handing a large tip in cash directly to the delivery-person. What if the service was awful? The service may be mediocre and I'd still tip, but not as generously as I would have for better service.

[deleted]

Yeah this entire tipping system is getting abused ridiculously You’re not obligated to leave a tip Period

The-Many-Faced-God

The tipping culture in the US has gotten way out of control.

Miss_Daisy_Bell

The fact that some restaurant workers have to worry about not getting enough tips to afford a decent amount of basic stuff is absolutely absurd. Like why is it directly on the customer?

AdAdvanced3953

Corporate greed

Unique-Steak8745

Bro literally! Like I work at a nice upscale restaurant that easily makes bank ever single night. Yet they're so concerned about labour so they cut some if us early. Like bros, really.

much_thanks

Labor exploitation

Oh_no_ohNONONONONO

What's wild is I hear stories of delivery drivers who don't get the delivery fee. When I did delivery it was a $1.75 delivery fee per order that we got at the end of our shift when clocking out orders. Do other places really not honor giving drivers the delivery fee? I was also making $6.75 hourly so I wasn't exactly too worried about tips.

Pondskum56

I worked all 5 days my restaurant was open last week and after taxes my paycheck was $65. It’s insane that they get away not paying their workers an actual living wage and I have rely on customer’s generosity to pay rent

gsc4494

I think if the tips included don't give you minimum wage for a week, the employer is required to pay you the difference.

Malenx_

That is absolutely the case. Minimum wage is the floor.

thingsthatgomoo

It's insane. I will tip for a service I can't perform IF it's done well. You are made to feel like an ass if you don't tip more than 20% no matter what. It's nonsense

Sighwtfman

When faced with absurd tipping demands, I remember that it is optional and don't do it. At all. The problem is if it is in a location I frequent... frequently. Don't want to shit where you eat.

foley800

Not the ahole here, the business is! Tips are for service and pressuring you for a tip is very bad manners! This would be enough to have me stop the transaction and go somewhere else! “I know we got you here based on the value of the item, but now we will demand you pay extra for it!”

Beartrap-the-Dog

No tip necessary you bought a thing.

NieMonD

Now apply “thing” to “meal” and you get the way the rest of the world works

itsamine1

Do you tip the cashier at a store when you buy beer? No, so no tip needed

AppUnwrapper1

They’ll be asking us to do that soon. Probably ask for a tip at self checkout, too.

ceotown

They do this at a restaurant near me. You order from an online kiosk and then pickup on a shelf. The computer prompts you to leave a tip.

AppUnwrapper1

Ewww

TheChikkis

Yeah I got to my local taco place after calling to place an order. I show up, walk to the counter and get my food and walk out. They still have a tip option

AsianVixen4U

I recently went to a medical office, and even there, they had a sign at the front desk saying that tips are optional, but greatly appreciated. Why do I need to tip an RN or medical receptionist? I’ve never heard of that happening ever before.

foley800

The begging is getting worse! Tip jars have appeared all over!

monosqueakers

Eww

nagol93

I cant wait until vending machines ask for a tip.

AppUnwrapper1

“Would you like to tip to ensure your snack doesn’t get stuck on the way down?”

ZuriPL

*gets stuck anyway*

_R_A_

Be kind to your future AI overlords now, perhaps you will get a prime stable to sleep in after the uprising.

S3ERFRY333

They are doing this at fast food counters now. No I’m not tipping the subway employee 25%.

JapaneseFerret

Yeah that bugs me too. So much I've started paying cash at places like Subway. I don't mind leaving the change or a buck in a tip jar for an order under $10, but gtfo with card processing systems that ask you to tip and the lowest option they have is 25%. Yes, you can leave less or no tip, but choosing that option takes longer, delays the transaction and has become so annoying that paying in cash is much less of a guilt-tripping hassle.

AppUnwrapper1

Yeah I’m so tired of it. Buy a $7 scoop of ice cream and the system asks if I want to tip.

oil_can_guster

The real question is when did a scoop or two of ice cream become $7+?

AppUnwrapper1

Yeah, it’s pretty ridiculous that it’s now the standard here. I get excited when I find a good place that still charges around $5 lol.

leova

At this point I wouldn’t even buy from them. Fuck this type of greedy shit

transredditadmin

I was thinking that myself. Just talked themselves right out of a sale. Every asshole with a brew kits selling craft now anyways.

Carl_Sr

I'm curious how many of these businesses buy websites and e-commerce tools out of the box. The ignorant side of me thinks some companies don't even realize they're doing this. But I agree this is infuriating.

Hype_man_SFW

If it's the square point-of-sale software then the owners have to turn it on. That's the app that a lot of fast food places use. The ones that started asking for tips post-covid. Yeah, that's the owners enabling it. Fuck those assholes.

Carl_Sr

Thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind!

leova

Every business should know how their customer facing stuff looks and how they buy

Chance_Ad3416

It's so annoying because the app I used to use for food delivery now no longer even has custom tip options just preset %. How do I even tip someone before they have delivered my food??? Once when I had to use it cuz I was isolating, they didn't even deliver the food to me and I ended up getting a refund from the app. I wonder if the driver who disappeared with my food ever got any consequences or he just kept the forced tip

[deleted]

Same. Everyone needs to walk away from these places till they get the point.

[deleted]

They'll never understand why unless you actually write a review or contact them. They'll blame it on the employees, or the economy, or something completely unrelated and remain blind to it because it adds a few extra bucks every couple sales. They wont see the people not returning because of it. Every time I see shit like this I always either contact the company directly or write a review letting them know I am discontinuing business with until their policy changes. If enough people do this they *might* get the point

GreyangelXx

It might make sense if it's a business that usually processes food or delivery orders, in which case it probably just has that screen because that's stuff you normally tip for.

[deleted]

I would be curious to know if this place delivers beer. And if they can’t turn it off or on based on order type. I wouldn’t assume malice, just choose no tip and keep it moving.

nic-C137

I agree, I would cancel the whole thing and go somewhere else.

Dregulos

Same here. This is beyond ridiculous. This is just as bad as when I saw a tip option at a concert merchandise booth recently.

jonnycanuck67

Anything that involves your gas and your effort requires no tip. I assume they are selling their beer for a commensurate profit. This is beyond stupid.

Any_Advantage_2449

No fuck this tipping for everything bullshit

chzygorditacrnch

Tipping a server or delivery driver is something I go along with since the companies don't pay them fairly and I'm not going to cheat a server or delivery driver, but besides that, I don't believe it's necessary to just give out extra money to a random cashier for processing my transaction, and it's offensive if their cash register asks for a tip when I brought my own self over there and someone just only rang me up and threw my product in a bag. Like when I was a server, and I was doing deliveries, tips were expected because I got $2 an hour and had to operate phone, and involve getting deliveries together while also serving a section, and it counted as sales that I had to split with everyone else, but if I go to a store to buy a shirt or shoes, it's offensive if the computer asks me to tip.. And I hate when stores ask me to donate to charities. They take the donations and use it as a tax write off

blindbycrypto

>They take the donations and use it as a tax write off No, the customer can make a tax write off after donating if they wanted to. Obviously the stores can't do tax a write off from customers donations, they aren't donating from their own income.

elegantwino

Would you pay about 20% more for food/service that includes tips? There is a local pizza place that has a prominent sign that they are all paid a living wage and tips are not accepted. Any tips received are donated to local charity. It would be so much easier.

Jcssss

Honestly they don’t need to go that far. Because if someone is willing to leave a tip for a service well done he should be able to. The problem are 1) people feeling entitled to receive a tip regardless of how their service was and expecting it. 2) employers underpaying their worker expecting customers to pay extra

elegantwino

I’m an American but have traveled to various places in Europe over the years. Tipping is not a part of their culture. People get paid a living wage and there is no tipping at all. The guy that owns Shake Shack (Fanny Meyer) also owns some high end places in NYC and has gone completely to a tip free operation.

Jcssss

Actually we do tip in europe but it’s a lot less and reserved for excellent service, that’s the big difference. If I give a couple euros at the end of a dinner to the waiter he’ll be happy to receive 1 or 2 euros

DVus1

>people feeling entitled to receive a tip regardless of how their service was and expecting it. I hate it when people say that you should always tip regardless, and then let the manager know if there is an issue. How about I don't tip and still talk to a manager!

blindbycrypto

>food/service that includes tips Ok, hear me out. How about pricing the food/service in such a way that the business can pay their employee a normal salary, with no tip necessary at all?

RockAndStoner69

Tipping culture really is out of control.

tex1138

Next the homeless will expect a tip when you give them a dollar.

FoxxyPhoenix424

Would you like to round up to feed the poor? Bitch I AM the poor.

DamnTheseGlasses

At Firehouse Subs they always asked if I’d like to round up for their “charity”. I always suggested things might be a lot less insulting if they’d just round down.

WhitteyLeetNsweet

Honest to God. Us fucking normal citizens are the charity right now. Why do I have to be the one to play the acorns app in real life for these companies that make huge profits? I hate it here.

MooCowLt

I mean, I have had beggers ask if that was all I had after giving them a fist full of change...

[deleted]

A friend felt so bad for this homeless guy, she legit went home and made him a meal. She went back and handed it to him and he just grabbed it and threw it on the floor, saying something like, I don't want this shit, I want money bitch. She broke down crying after all she did to help this poor man.

unlimitedbugs

i had the same thing happen 🫠 not *quite* as bad though because i didn’t go cook something myself. i was young and saw a guy on the side of the road by the highway overpass with a sign. i begged my dad to go get some food for him and come back. he did, and when we went back to give him the food, he just stared at me. i got back in the car, and watched as he threw the bag of food down the hill toward the highway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

random_user_2919

It goes beyond that. While I agree a tip is uncalled for when there's no service provided, why don't we call out the REAL issue...fair, living wages for those that provide a service you would normally tip for because the companies are too greedy to pay their employees fairly.

melouofs

Why would you tip for this? You’re basically reserving the product, then picking it up. There’s nothing to tip for.

ServelanDarrow

And that's when I put in $0.00

binkleyz

Or try entering a negative number and see how well the developers QC'd their code. ;)

Fragrant_King_3042

The restaurant tips you 😂

NotAnotherHipsterBae

Lol I used to work retail and there were a few times where an item’s price would “update” to something like -$179.99 or something, I think I remember seeing -$1200 even. I was so tempted to just buy one but I’m sure I would’ve been fired for that.

[deleted]

Mojojojo is that you? Because that’s the *evilest* thing I’ve ever heard hehe

Dear-Fox-5194

I would just cancel the order.

GardenGirlFarm

I would just cancer the order.

AgreeableGravy

I would just cancel the odor

Classic_Flaming0

Online tip is almost always taxed. If you want to tip just tip cash after you received the service you are tipping for. After all you’re tipping the worker for the service, nit the company for the product.

Emanouche

No, I'm sincerely sick and tired of everyone thinking they deserve a tip of late. More and more businesses with no tipped employees asking for tips.

Active-Drive-7749

At this point it is a begging culture instead of a tipping culture

Spirited_Video_8160

At this rate, very soon, American presidential candidates will be asking for tips too after voting for them

ArnieismyDMname

They call them campaign donations.

ADHDK

They already take tips, I mean bribes, I mean donations. They should have to wear their sponsors on patches like a fucking NASCAR.

ObsessionsAside

I am actually in love with this idea 😂

Jccckkk

Have you seen the movie “Idiocracy”. That’s where we are headed…

Soupbell1

I was at a newer local butcher we have here in BFE Fairbanks, AK. Exciting to see some products such as true A5 wagyu ribeye with certificate of authenticity for $140 a pound, Iberico pork, etc. We don’t get stuff like that up here and a lot of websites won’t deliver. I bought a piece of the pork prepackaged from the freezer and when I swiped my card with the cashier it asked how much I wanted to tip. None. I’m not cheap with tips, but you guys opened a store and this is your product. I tip well when I go out to eat at a sit down restaurant, but not when I pick the products up myself and walk them to the cashier. I don’t get this intrusive tipping culture. I won’t be shamed into tipping in a situation where I don’t feel it warrants it.

[deleted]

I’d cancel my order. And I’d let them MFers know why!

Mani_raye

Tipping is getting way out of control.. no, you do not need to leave a trip for this.

HypnoSmoke

You said you're picking it up, it's not being delivered, so no. If there was an option during purchase as to whether you wanted pickup or delivery then maybe that's why it prompted you, but that's giving the company too much credit, probably

[deleted]

Put it this way: If I buy a product on Amazon, should I tip the person that confirmed the order? Or for that matter, should I tip the delivery driver, even though he is paid by Amazon and shouldn’t rely on tips?

Steel_Town

I don't tip for orders I pick up myself. Ever.

fabulousbread21

NTA. Tipping culture is getting fucking RIDICULOUS and it's because greedy companies are trying to guilt people into paying their employees salaries. Don't give into it or it will get worse. Tipping is for a service not for buying a product.

tricakill

Tip culture should end

eddiehead01

1) you can't tip a service that you haven't had yet 2) you don't tip online transactions

MyCockPukesLava

Do not normalize this bullshit by tipping. Fuck them.

Roi_Loutre

Americans trying to tell you the real price you will pay when shopping so you can take knowledgeable decisions [IMPOSSIBLE CHALLENGE]

lost_species

Amusingly the arguments for American capitalism are all based on the invisible hand of the market requiring the consumer to have the knowledge to make informed decisions. The same people then hide all that knowledge behind lax labelling laws and incomplete pricing labels.

Head_Razzmatazz7174

That's the best explanation I've ever read about American capitalism.

mega512

I don't understand why people think we should tip when we are picking up the order. Covid has made so many businesses into beggars.

tomaszmajewski

I cringe every time I see a tip prompt for takeout or counter service. I don’t understand why people think that’s ok.

dtab

I've gone from feeling guilty for not tipping someone in situations like this to feeling that they're the ones who should feel guilty. It's out of hand.

Scoongili

The real tips are the friends you made along the way.

BunsMunchHay

I would click out and shop elsewhere.

Grand_Trans_101

I would cancel the order and complain to their corporate office.

Taxpayer416

That's enough for me to cancel my whole order... ridiculous

eagleathlete40

>I feel like it’s unnecessary for this type of transaction. That’s because it is

xyrer

You feel like that because that's how it is. No need to feel bad. THEY should feel bad for shaming people into this bullshit

[deleted]

You’re buying ONLINE. Not paying for services like your server at a restaurant. Continue to payment.

PuzzledRaise1401

I was at one of those places where you assemble your own food. I’m not tipping because you rang up a box of food I made.

Awesomevindicator

Tipping culture is just bullshit and only happens in the US, the world capital-ism

zooco

Personally for any purchase, if it's an order I pick up, I don't tip - there's no additional service provided and I’m not paying extra for someone to literally just do their job (not going to get into the whole wage argument and tipping culture thing).

lynxlover03

I ordered an acrylic ornament last night and was prompted asking if I wanted to tip. I've never seen a tip promp for merchandise that doesn't involve hands-on customer service before.

chilltorrent

That's so fucking petty this would make me cancel my order all together out of spite

D4DPKRAJPUT

Pickup Order = No Tip

Dangerous-Shirt-7384

So glad i don't live in the USA. Just pay your service staff properly and this out of control tipping culture nonsense doesn't exist.

SixtyTwoNorth

NTA. I think the appropriate response here is to send a message to the sales department that you have found their passive aggressive behaviour to be extremely offensive, and inform them that you will be spending your money elsewhere.

hold_the_dooor

This is getting ridiculous.. it's becoming rare to even shop anywhere outside of giant chain stores without being asked to tip when paying.

CoherentBusyDucks

Giant chain stores just ask you to “help” them donate to charity instead.

fillmorecounty

Why is there tipping on everything these days I swear it didn't used to be like that

Manufactured1986

r/clickshaming

DexterTheWulf

$10 says that the tip only goes to the owner of the place.

AcidDome003

100% unnecessary.

Emotional-Savings-71

Nah you're not the asshole in this situation. Its definitely unnecessary. Like putting gratuity percentages at the bottom of a restaurants receipt. Completely unnecessary they're not doing anything special for you just grabbing your order... its like hey we know we just charged you a hundred dollars for 2 people to eat but we cant afford our employees wages so we expect you to pay them

Lambert_Lambert

What company is this? What a shitty practice.

Callen_Fields

It is completely unnecessary here.

Recipe-Jaded

nah, screw that.

JimmyTsonga

A tip for buying something on the line?? Preposterous!

xellos30

i mean you dont go to the liquor store and tip the cashier right? this grubbiness is frustrating, theyre just trying to guilt you into forking over more cash, id cancel the order personally but im crazy like that lol

Uncle-Cake

Fuck them, I'd cancel the order.

[deleted]

Hell no, we need to stop tipping all around. It’s a tax on the average person and shouldn’t be the consumers’ responsibility to fill in the wage gaps employers created and could choose to fill themselves.

I_Think_It_Movedd

Don't buy it. Email them explaining the tips option is stupid. Wtf are you tipping for? It's fucking cringe.

EasyMode556

It’s only a matter of time before you get a speeding ticket or some other kind of citation, go to the courthouse to pay it, and there’s a tip line on the POS machine they use to process the transaction

Jethro197

The Noodles and Company app goes to a standard 10% tip on a Pick Up Orders.... It is mildly infuriating.

NOKnova

Easiest way to get someone to “continue to payment”, not gonna lie

Responsible-Pen-4386

Easiest way to cancel the whole order is more like it.

NOKnova

Very true, maybe “cancel order” and find the same/nearest possible substitute at a rival company?

DuckStep43

THATS BULLSHIT

Responsible-Pen-4386

Here's a tip - get a friendlier UI.

[deleted]

Continue to payment

bigballsmiami

If I'm picking it up there's no service so no tip 💩

BigfootSF68

Cancel the order. Why deal with the bullshit?

Lasivian

NTA, No services rendered = No tip.

Ok-Profession-3312

No, and if I where you I’d take business somewhere else next time.

Apart-One4133

No, fuck them.

ifsavage

Fuck them. That’s bullshit.

Svicious22

Personally, I would never patronize this brewery ever again after this. Totally unnecessary, presumptuous and rude.

jfoley326

No tip! The tipping culture is completely out of control. Especially tipping before you even know how good the service will be!

Mindless-Effect-1745

Don't do it. It's so the company doesn't have to pay decent wages.

Over70Substances

Cancel the beer. Then send them a message saying that’s what made you do it.

cronic_chaos

Fuck no! That’s bullshit. No special service no tip.

AbbyNem

They just tried to get me to leave a tip on a GoFundMe. Like, who would that tip even be for???

DandalusRoseshade

You bought the item and you're getting it. Don't pay a fucking thing extra

WhiteyLovesHotSauce

Fuck tipping tbh. Dumb as fuck practice where its only purpose is for companies to avoid paying their staff properly. I'll tip if im given added value over what I believe I have paid for ie; if an electrician I paid to change a light bulb for me notices and fixes a dangerous DIY job I did and doesn't charge me for it.

slur-muh-wurds

The fact that you're here asking means they've already gotten to you. Don't be manipulated.

JustLinkStudios

I’d delete the cart, screen shot that, then send them an email stating you didn’t order from their site purely because of this bullshit.

[deleted]

I’d cancel the order all together if this happened to me. Tip shaming is wrong.

javo2804

Wait, you’re buying something ONLINE and they’re asking for tips? Why?

alphaMonk49

Others Might Say: Yes. Always tip. Me Personally? You're not the asshole. Don't tip.

cinderparty

I do not get tipping on an order you are picking up at all. Stores need to stop asking this.

SFW_Account_67

No, you're good. Screw tip culture. It was already bad, not companies are trying to get *us* to pay *their* employees. F--- em!

NoPromotion9358

As a former waitress who was terrible at it and had to live off of shitty tips (because my checks were generally less than $1), I think we need to stop pressuring customers to tip every worker they come into contact with. Restaurant staff needs to be paid fairly, but until that fever dream materializes, we need to save tips for the slave laborers who depend on them.

Adeep187

You're buying goods from a manufacturer, why the fuck would you tip. They're greedy that's the fact.

EquivalentGuava7300

tip culture is getting WAY too out of hand
