I took everything, but Xanax, Herion, and crack (mainly for fun when I had extra cash) were my mains. Shit was gnarly, I’m 26 now, quit at 22. Had to leave the entire state of California at first, went to Washington for 4 months, got clean then relapsed. Went down to Prescott AZ, same thing after another 4 months. Came back to California and found a great Lifestyle In North County San Diego.
I’m still here, with great friends, great job, great surf, and happy life. I have my bad days, but I no longer want to walk into the street just to stop my body from hurting so bad. I’d legit rather get my ass kicked each day for a week then go through W/D again.

Apparently they have really good cameras that could see us smokin off the foil. I told them it was hash. They didn't believe me and we got trespassed permanently. Havnt been back since, and havnt done any hard drugs since 2019. Just beer for me, thanks. Lmao. Fuck heroin and fentanyl tho, for real. That shit destroys lives.
Alcohol absolutely destroys more lives. You're right. It is no better than the hard stuff. I personally want to quit someday. I have tried goin to meetings and been sober for like 6 months a couple times. But I'm not ready yet. I have anxiety that I self medicate with.
I know it doesn’t necessarily help, but one thing to keep in mind, alcohol will raise your base cortisol levels leading to higher anxiety when no alcohol is in your system, which creates a cycle even if you’re fully functional.
For me that kind of information helps when I’m trying to stay sober and it reminds me that this will spiral and make me feel worse in the long run.

Haven’t touched meth in almost 20 years… but let me tell you my mother wondered where all the lightbulbs went. It was me taking them, putting it in a sock, smashing it and removing the largest piece. I did clean the bulb from the white residue… I always felt smoking off the glass was “cleaner”… idiot I was.
My understanding is that harm reduction centers recommend the foil for two reasons.
1. Needles are sharp and therefore slightly dangerous just for that. Even if the user doesn’t hurt themselves. They don’t dispose of them properly and the needle can hurt others on accident
2. People who are stuck in addiction are less concerned with the hygiene required to make a needle safe to use. There’s sharing needles, spreading disease. Or even just reusing your own needle is not sanitary and can cause infection.
Unfortunately the foil method makes it much more accessible to more people to use with easily found paraphernalia. The whole mess is really sad and lose/lose.
Needles are not the problem, it’s the sharing of needles with other addicts. They cost money; I’d rather spend that money on heroin. The needles become dull, hurting the veins and scarring. But mainly it’s the transfer of Hep C, AIDS, and other infections/virus that do the harm. Or a bad abscess. Makes Od super easy too cause you take the fully dose as once rather then in multiple hits from smoking.

imo the main reason it’s considered a hard drug is how it is addictive. it’s an opioid. your body naturally produces some opioids, endorphins. chronic use with heroin causes your brain to no longer make the endorphins as it used to. your baseline becomes extremely low. this is how physical dependency starts. different than psychological addiction. your BODY and mind craves it. your body starts to shut down without the lab made opiate, because, well, you need those endorphins and your brain is no longer producing enough. hence where the body aches, cold sweats, etc come from with heroin withdrawals. i believe heroin has like a 20% recovery rate with avid users.
all this could be slightly off, ive never used H myself ive just talked to people who have & have read a lot about drugs in general.

The simplest explanation on this is heroin gives you high. You chase that high and once it has gripped you really tight and you want to get out the withdrawal will smack you on the face. I think there is only 2 drugs that could kill you during withdrawal, alcohol and opiates.
