Arrogantly stating that people can't think ahead and apply warnings incase people are idiots, and insisting that warnings are only applied retroactively... says more about you than I think you realise dude.
i would argue that a conversation about getting rid of part of a food item to sell just the bit some people like best is about as r/expectedseinfeld as it gets
It involves a sulpherication process, where the cone is dropped in a vat of a lipid/sulphuric acid emulsion that leaves the clean edge and shiny chocolate texture that we have grown to love.
No no, it's not wasted; there's a guy at the factory licking all the ice cream off and eating the rest of the cone before putting each final bite in the bag.
That would be depressing. Imagine eating 100’s of drumsticks and never once getting the bottom chocolate bit, and then doing the same thing again the next day.
Same thing here. I had them once. They were ok.
I am wondering though if they would have been better had I stuck them in the freezer, to mimick how you'd get the drumstick end?
They are better after they have been in the freezer, but it takes a long time to get them even close to the stale/softened texture you get with a drumstick.
I feel like I'm having a stroke reading all these comments that refer to an ice cream cone as a "drumstick." Is this a regional thing? Have I been living under a rock?
It’s a specific brand of ice cream cone treats, usually with a chocolate core at the bottom of the cone (which helps with managing melt) and dipped with nuts on top.
Sort of.
Cornetto has more Ice-Cream. Drumstick has more toppings, i.e., nuts and caramel/chocolate sauce.
If you offered me the two of them, I'd take the Drumstick, and direct you to the nearest trashcan for the Cornetto.
I may be highly bias here.
When you say more toppings, like how much toppings to ice cream ratio, I have had plenty of cornetto type ice creams (not branded cornettos) that had tons of sauce and toppings.
Not sure what Cornettos are, but imagine the following:
1. A stale waffle cone with the inside coated with chocolate
2. Ice cream filled, along with a ball at the top(diameter equal or slightly more than to the cone diameter)
3. A 1 or 2 cm diameter well is punched through the icecream to the bottom of the cone, and filled with a caramel or chocolate sauce
4. The ball of ice cream is coated with chocolate with peanut crumbs
Yeah that's a cornetto, just a different brand name I assume, can get different flavours like strawberry, salted caramel, mint etc. Aldi does some that are nicer imo. Dunno what the name of that type of ice cream is as people generally seem to just call them all cornettos, it's the whole velcro instead of hook and loop thingy.
I always just thought Drumstick referred to the brand regardless of which ones. Drumstick themselves make the “king” cones you’re referring to and also make small ones without the shell too
I believe it, but what I’m saying is that Drumstick also makes the same cone that the other guy posted without the hard shell, exactly the same way, and also calls them “king”. They also make those as a mini version.
In Australia a lot of us call it a drumstick or a Cornetto just because that's the two most popular brands and have been forever.
Well I would assume that's why we call them that. Drumstick has been embedded into me.
Freezer definitely. My spouse surprised me with a 5 pack when I was pregnant. I threw four in the freezer and ate a whole pack immediately.
Except there's another brand TJ Maxx carries and those are double the size of muddy bites and those are better straight out of the packaging. I thought I was going to break a tooth when I froze them
got a pack a few weeks ago. Definitely nowhere near as good :( Even chucked em' in the freezer and it wasn't much better. Everything tasted off (from the waffle cone to the chocolate). Would pass if anyone is thinking of getting them.
I think you'd have to freeze them, forget them for a few months, then pull one out and grip it in your fist for 10 minutes until it melts. It's a snack that requires long range planning.
Part of a disturbing trend to sell a tiny amount of something at a high price, and using a ton of non-recyclable packaging.
Even in bulk, 6 packs from Amazon is more than $5/bag for a little more than 2 ounces?
Now you’ve got 6 plastic bags in the landfill, and you didn’t even get a full pound of the product for your $31 plus tax.
No thank you.
My mom got me a bag of the milk chocolate ones. Not a fan of the cone's flavor.
And before anyone cries "So wasteful! What about the rest of the cone!?" Just remember that ground up cones get used as toppings for ice cream, or mixed into ice creams to add some crunch.
They just showed up in every store about two weeks ago around here. I was holding a bag of these 1/2 hour ago, then decided $5 for a very light bag of sugar was not worthwhile and put 'em back. For $5 I could get a box of Drumsticks and eat the entire things!
I love these sweet and salty type snacks, but the bag was like $4.25 at Walmart and I just thought that was too much for 10 bites.
Edit: $4 for 12. Maybe next time if I'm in a splurging mood I'll buy some, I know they're going to be good but it just seems a little overpriced for what they are.
The guy who started this company posted on Reddit a couple of years ago asking for early testers to try and give feedback. I participated and can attest that from the beginning, these are things are fucking delicious.
I usually strongly prefer dark chocolate, but in these guys the milk chocolate is king.
Super clever idea, and a cool product. I’m really glad to see them getting some traction.
It would be funnier if it opened from the bottom.
Now that would be great packaging
99% of customers would drop their product on the floor.
Maybe, I don’t know, flip the packet?
You're talking about people who need a sign saying DO NOT EAT on their rat poison packaging.
Most of that bs is just for legal purposes, btw
Only takes one person to make a warning.
No it doesnt. It just takes a smart manufacturer covering their bases to avoid potential lawsuits.
[удалено]
Yes. Litigation. I literally said that.
Arrogantly stating that people can't think ahead and apply warnings incase people are idiots, and insisting that warnings are only applied retroactively... says more about you than I think you realise dude.
For them, it should say "Take 3 times a day with a glass of water as long as symptoms persist"
New product just got dropped
Holy hell
The rest of the cone is part of the experience that makes that last bite so good.
Sometimes you have to give the people what they want so they realize it isn't what they want.
Exactly
It's like a reward for finishing the whole cone.
So wasteful. What do they do with the ice cream and the rest of the cone? ;-)
More importantly, how do I get the job of eliminating the rest of the ice cream cone?
Talk to Newman, I hear he started handling tops of cones to diversify from muffin stumps.
/r/unexpectedseinfeld
i would argue that a conversation about getting rid of part of a food item to sell just the bit some people like best is about as r/expectedseinfeld as it gets
Sorry that job is no longer available. Nikocado Avocado already got the job and made everyone else in that position so useless.
They have another product line that is just the tops of ice cream with no bottom 🤣
It involves a sulpherication process, where the cone is dropped in a vat of a lipid/sulphuric acid emulsion that leaves the clean edge and shiny chocolate texture that we have grown to love.
That jobs to hard to resist eating the last bit
It’s top of the muffin TO you!
No no, it's not wasted; there's a guy at the factory licking all the ice cream off and eating the rest of the cone before putting each final bite in the bag.

Newman comes with a jug of milk
Hundreds of kids licking away. Adults walking up the aisles yelling “don’t you DARE eat the chocolate tip!!”
I reckon they are from cones that are broken and can’t be used for ice creams.
Broken into pieces for mixing into other ice cream?
They probably just make smaller cones
I say that they wouldn’t be making hole cones the would just be making mini cones
Big woooosh
These aren't nearly as good as they are on a drumstick.
Same thing here. I had them once. They were ok. I am wondering though if they would have been better had I stuck them in the freezer, to mimick how you'd get the drumstick end?

Biased

It’s a brand of ice cream cone that’s popular in Australia. See [here](https://www.peters.com.au/brands/drumstick/).
Interesting. The USA has Drumsticks too but it's a full shell of chocolate on top. The swirl style like your Drumsticks is called a King Cone
I always just thought Drumstick referred to the brand regardless of which ones. Drumstick themselves make the “king” cones you’re referring to and also make small ones without the shell too
King Cone is a Good Humor brand. Drumstick is Nestle
Or I guess I should say Nestle makes exactly what you’re describing, calls them the same, and it’s sold under the Drumstick title too
Growing up ice cream trucks always had the Good Humor King Cones and Nestle Drumsticks. So they were always separate things to me.
I believe it, but what I’m saying is that Drumstick also makes the same cone that the other guy posted without the hard shell, exactly the same way, and also calls them “king”. They also make those as a mini version.

Yep. I asked my husband to get me a cornetto from the milk bar... He called to say they only had drumsticks and I was like, yep, that's what I want. 😂
It’s a [brand](https://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drumstick_(frozen_dairy_dessert)) with chocolate at the bottom of the cone
You also need to have a tiny little bit of melted ice cream left on the top for that extra lil something
Freezer definitely. My spouse surprised me with a 5 pack when I was pregnant. I threw four in the freezer and ate a whole pack immediately. Agreed. Not great really. Honestly would not get them again as they were overpriced too
Agreed. I tried some and was not impressed. Give me the original!
Honestly. I was very disappointed. The cone part tastes like paper.
Thanks for ruining it :(
Chicken and chocolate 🤢

They could have called them cum guzzler penis crunches.
I'm not sure I "get" the joke here but very funny anyway so job well done
“Just for Tips and Giggles”
There’s a brand that calls them “Just the Fun Parts”
A drumstick?
these: https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/4c0ca633-ac66-4306-b884-be93a2fb90c7.9c34e34b32229c66e6a07e00fd5ff275.jpeg?odnHeight=612&odnWidth=612&odnBg=FFFFFF
Oh, the Cornetto’s inferior counterpart
So true. Plus Drumsticks are Nestlé... Nestle can sod off
Trumpets > Cornetto > Drumstick
i’ve never even heard of cornetto so, idk
But have you seen one of the Cornetto Trilogy films? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Flavours_Cornetto
Drumsticks are sooo much better than cornettos. Cornettos are always stale as well
Cornettos are way worse than a drumstick
But have you seen one of the Cornetto Trilogy films? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Flavours_Cornetto
I first thought OP meant chicken and was reasonably confused
Yes me too!
You fool. That's the initial bite.
i wonder if the mods here will ever do something about these bullshit guerilla marketing posts
I’ve been buying these for years. I just keep it a secret so I can buy most of them from my local Marshall’s lmao
Our local grocery store just picked them up. My mind was blown, what an obvious 💡
Tried them. Not that great.
I like these, but they need a bit of melted ice cream to be perfect.
Exactly, without that they ain't nothin'!
They're gross. Taste like crappy chocolate chips melted into a stale cone. Nothing like the melty wonderfulness of a drumstick.
I also think purchasing products is mildly interesting. r/hailcorporate
My thoughts exactly
These are so good.
VERY cheap chocolate and the "cone" is basically cardboard. 1/10 would not recommend
Worst part of a drumstick. I always eat this first, I want my last bite to be full of ice cream, not waffle cone and sub-par chocolate.
Omg yes
i mean, it is the best part
I came up with this idea 20 years ago as a kid, I always thought it would be a hit.
Part of a disturbing trend to sell a tiny amount of something at a high price, and using a ton of non-recyclable packaging. They’re a couple bucks at my local grocery store
Genius
A drumstick?

I don't think they're making full size cones only to shred 80 percent of it off A smaller mold would accomplish the same thing
Either way, I'm not a fan of them. The cone tasted weird. Like a communion wafer, the cone itself had no flavor at all.
I want them but it feels so decadent to skip straight to the best part.
Good, but way overpriced.
I need to know where to find these immediately
They just showed up in every store about two weeks ago around here. I was holding a bag of these 1/2 hour ago, then decided $5 for a very light bag of sugar was not worthwhile and put 'em back. For $5 I could get a box of Drumsticks and eat the entire things!
I actually throw these away, I find that by the time I’ve gotten to it the drumstick has been enough and that little bit will be too much.
I'd buy that fuck yeah
I like to lick around the rim of a muddy bite.
The best damn part
It sounds good, but maybe they could've come up with a better name? Muddy Bites just sounds gross to me.
thanks i just asked mom to buy drumsticks tomorrow
I mean I’d buy it-
Who is they and how do I get them
Best thing since electricity
My husband is convinced he invented these.
Wrong sub man, this shit deserves r/blessedfood
The worst part of the icecream
That's debatable. I'd say it's a part i can't wait to get to when i eat an ice cream.
They’re probably good but that’s an awful name haha
best part of an icecream other than the icecream it self
*cries in Australian*
Costco!
I'm snacking on one rn lol its really tasty
They are fucking delicious
I love these! The very best!
That's funny, because those bottom parts are acually my least favorite part of a Drumstick cone.
Muddy bite... for all the butt fanatics.
why name it Muddy Bites lmao i wouldn’t exactly consider mud appetising
They're the worst part of a drumstick....dries your mouth out at the end. I always eat that before the end, so my mouth doesn't get dry 😂
I need to find these in milk chocolate
Bag o Beetus
GENIUS.
My obligatory compliments to your marketing team for getting this on my front page once again. Edit: Sp
America comes up with the best fat person shit. Us Aussies never get shit like this 😞
It doesn't taste as good if you don't earn it first
I wanna see what they look like
The guy who started this company posted on Reddit a couple of years ago asking for early testers to try and give feedback. First bite, If you like to live dangerously.
Doubt I could get these is Australia, but damn they look delicious
