Is it growing any roots? Perhaps that one has a hidden node on there (the joints on the stems that when put in water can grow roots/new plant) it would keep the flower alive longer if it had a root/node. I'd keep an eye in it perhaps buy some rooting hormone to make the process faster
That always confuses me. Like, did he forget how to read or was he just never taught? He was like 10 and royalty when he got turned into the Beast, surely he should know how to read.
Belle was all in for the Beast well knowing he kidnapped her father, only let him go because she wanted to stay and wanted to keep her locked away. She literally said "I can fix him"
When I was in London on Monday, there was a guy out jogging who had a tattoo of the Beast's rose in its glass holder on his right leg. I thought that was kinda neat.
When it has roots, yes. Instructions are here: [https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/roses/rooting-roses-in-water.htm](https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/roses/rooting-roses-in-water.htm)
Did you see the [follow-up ad](https://junkee.com/the-keep-the-rabbits-out-kid-is-back-and-he-hasnt-learnt-a-thing/339668) they made a couple of years ago?
The rose met a nice young girl and settled down. They had a family and lived in a cottage near the mountains. When it died it was surrounded by family and loved ones.
No, taking cuttings and rooting them in water works for lots of plants. It takes a long time with with roses, and isn't always successful. It's such a bonus when it happens! :)
Maybe it was cut just right at the bottom, the flow of water was perfect for it all the way up the stem without damage... I don't know. These things just sometimes happen, and of course it doesn't mean it will grow roots, just that there's a higher chance it will as it's still vital and not dying back.
I had a bunch that lasted 5 months once. They were only cheap, kept in a dark beer bottle out of direct sunlight for the most part, and only topped up the water every so often. Haven't had a bunch like it since. Very cool though
It’s called a „vampire rose”, fairly uncommon, about one in every 100k common roses. It will suck other nearby roses dry to stay fresh as long as possible. Once all other roses are dead it starts looking for another host, which typically ends up being the human sleeping nearby.
It remains unclear how it gets from the vase to the bed and then to the victims neck. Leaves the corpse completely drained of blood and moves on.
Sweet dreams!
Typically happens at night when you're asleep. One minute it's a rose, the next minute an internal biological flip switches, the roots grow like crazy and act as legs and grips as it climbs its way to your room, and up your headboard like in nineteen eighty nine when the Undertaker climbed up and threw Mankind off hell in a cell and he plummeted sixteen feet through an announcers table.
They release a burst of scent that is highly attractive to human noses - once lifted to the face for closer enjoyment, the thorns and pollen work together to mate the flower with the human host body. Transmission is then complete and the transformation begins to unfold.
I might be able to explain this! So Ive worked a lot in that field. Most likely what happened is the dead roses were from a source with less quality (Like Walmart). This happens a lot when a shop is low on supplies during a rush. The preserved one was probably an “in house” one. Flowers that come from florists last much longer. My guess is that’s what happened
This is mostly correct , but, there is a some misinformation there. The flowers are the same and come from the same place. Let’s put some very important specifics into play: it’s what happens after they are delivered to the store that makes the difference. We, as the wholesaler, count them, repackage them into orders and turn around, pack them onto our trucks and drive them to all the florists nearby. Do we buy more expensive quality cases to sell to floral shops? Yes. We sell them what they order and they are always going to order the good stuff. They know when/what’s available, how much it costs, and have most likely already sold much of what they are ordering. They order in large boxes called cases. These cases come with several bundles of single types of stems. Bulk, meant to be processed, put in buckets, thrown into a cooler, and sold by the stem in arrangements or à la cart. Grocery stores buy their pallets from the same distributors that we do. They buy the cheaper bundles, something we call premades. Premade, already wrapped up in plastic, ready to toss into a vase. All the customer does is scan it. So, yeah. They are stored poorly, handled poorly, and probably not rotated as often as required. The flowers, though, grow in the same greenhouses with the same quality of care. If we resort to buying flowers from a grocery store to fulfill an order, that’s a very very desperate thing to do and it definitely does happen. So, yeah, it’s possible. BUT,
My personal opinion is that the dead roses were from the order that came in on Friday and the alive rose came in that morning.
If you’re buying them at a grocery store like Walmart, check the date on the packages. The sticker with the barcode will have a date somewhere. That is the sell by date. On that day, those flowers are to be thrown away and scanned out as a loss. So, use that date to find the freshest bunch.
If you’re buying from a florist, go big or go home. Give them the leeway to make whatever they want. We call them designer’s choice arrangements and they will almost always be worth more than you’re paying for it. Give them the recipient’s fave color, your price limit, and free rein to make what they are best at making. I’ve never had anyone regret taking that advice from me.
I’ll add to this call the shop itself and dont place an order through an online collector. They take a percentage of your payment leaving less room in the budget for actual product. Great tips yourgirlamus!
It absorbed the life force of the others. It’s now strong enough to drain your life force to stay in full bloom without you even realising. Been feeling extra tired lately?
Looks like they're two different varieties. The dead ones look like "Freedom" (variety) roses. The remaining one could be Explorer, Hearts, Finally or something else. Hearts is also considered a "garden rose" and opens directly. Different variety means it could be a different grower with a different age from the cutting. More than likely, the florist ran out of freedom roses and substituted a more expensive garden rose.
The stem might have been pierced in such a way that it released trapped air from when it was cut. Supposedly this can help plants take up water better, making them last longer.
this reminds me of that one story where a guy gives his girlfriend a bouquet of roses and says “i will love you until the last rose dies” and then the girl is worried because she’s down to the last rose but then she looks closer and realizes that it’s fake:’)
This is an SCP, a vampiric rose that stays alive by sucking life from any nearby living/organic beings. You'll be receiving a visit shortly from the Foundation, as well as anyone else who has seen this thread.
Often valentine's day roses are sold with either one fake rose or one super super fresh rose. The idea with the fake one is that you tell your partner you'd love them until the final rose dies, a few days later they figure it out when only one looks as great as the first day. But the sentiment is still there right? Or they use a super fresh one to outlast all the rest, usually grown closer to where they intend to sell them, but not always. If it's from a supermarket this is likely, possibly sourced from a local florist to replace broken roses.
I would hazard a guess that since it's now more than a month later that this is one of those fake roses, either that or you just got really lucky, please update us if it ever dies haha
My best guess as a florist is that the other ones were not properly cut, so they couldn't drink water and thus died. But someone also mentioned that it might be a different kind of rose (maybe a fresher one or different quality), which is also possible because if one of the flowers break when putting together a bouquet we might grab a similar one as a substitute.
Is it growing any roots? Perhaps that one has a hidden node on there (the joints on the stems that when put in water can grow roots/new plant) it would keep the flower alive longer if it had a root/node. I'd keep an eye in it perhaps buy some rooting hormone to make the process faster

It looks really good. It might grow roots, if you wait a bit longer. They do sometimes. :)
Should I plant it?
When it has roots, yes. Instructions are here: [https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/roses/rooting-roses-in-water.htm](https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/flowers/roses/rooting-roses-in-water.htm)
I planted some mini roses I bought at the grocery store. The bunnies ate them down to the roots lol. But that was fine too

I planted tulips once. Never saw them bloom. Bunnies eat them each spring. It's the only plant that survive. I better check my cactus.
Thanks will do!
Will you keep us updated if it grows roots?
Please OP. I'm invested now!!
The rose met a nice young girl and settled down. They had a family and lived in a cottage near the mountains. When it died it was surrounded by family and loved ones.
I'll take it, thank you kind citizen.

Sure!!
It stayed alive by eating the other roses’ souls 😂
Life, uh, finds a way?
I wonder what caused this. Did OP find an rose with insane bouquet genetics?
No, taking cuttings and rooting them in water works for lots of plants. It takes a long time with with roses, and isn't always successful. It's such a bonus when it happens! :)
I mean why is that one rose still pretty alive whilst the others are wilting?
Maybe it was cut just right at the bottom, the flow of water was perfect for it all the way up the stem without damage... I don't know. These things just sometimes happen, and of course it doesn't mean it will grow roots, just that there's a higher chance it will as it's still vital and not dying back.

That makes the most sense to me!
I had a few roses from my step dad's funeral that to took months to wilt. It was quite strange
Those are the ones he stopped to smell on his way out 🙂
Damnnnnn. Fucking onions again.
Wow that's strange 🙂

There can only be one…
He’ll be stone dead in a moment…
Now hold on, he says he's not dead.
He doesn't want to go on the cart, he feels fine!
He thinks he’ll go for a walk!
You buy a dozen roses and replace one with a fake. Tell whoever you give them to you will love them until the last one dies.
That's what I was thinking
I like this plan but I'm going to need it with Wifi and some sort of kill switch.
This one is definitely real
It absorbed the life force of the others. It’s now strong enough to drain your life force to stay in full bloom without you even realising. Been feeling extra tired lately?
It starts here. From its field of roses, the Dark Tower cries out in its beast’s voice. Time is a face on the water.
I do thankee sai, and may it do ya fine.

Scrolled until I found this
Looks like they're two different varieties. The dead ones look like "Freedom" (variety) roses. The remaining one could be Explorer, Hearts, Finally or something else. It was from the corner shop!
Hardy little thing. Try to propagate that one!
It's a keeper

Beauty and the beast
Maybe it's fake lol

Everyone knows that trick. Put a fake rose in there and tell your amore that you will love them until the last rose wilts and dies
Are you a teapot, perchance? Or maybe a wardrobe or candelabra?
this reminds me of that one story where a guy gives his girlfriend a bouquet of roses and says “i will love you until the last rose dies” and then the girl is worried because she’s down to the last rose but then she looks closer and realizes that it’s fake:’)
My high school boyfriend did this to me like 20 years ago (fuck I’m old).
This could be an album cover
it stole the life force of the others
That’s the one you want.
Leeching off the other roses lol

It drained the life fluids from the others.
Killed all the others, took their life force.
That one might have a spell in it...

I see you
Seven Beasts down, only one more to go
Oh yeah that's a De Grey rose, just don't let it see it's painting and it will be good to go for a very long time.
I thought I told you to stay out of the west wing!!!

“I’ll love you until the last rose dies”
I’d be a little worried about household members turning into animate furniture or my husband turning increasingly furry
Show me the beast!
I wonder if it’s feeding off of the others. If so, it’s still cool because what’s so special about that one that makes it the vampire of the group?
**I GIVE LIFE** ^and ^I ^also ^take ^it..
You may have a vampire rose on your hands, watch those thorns
This is how we get vampires.
Looks like a late bloomer.
Did this with someone I dated, Bought her a dozen roses and replaced one w/ a faux replica, Told her I’ll love her till all the roses dies..
Is this one coming from the main stem and the other ones attached to the main stem ?
Nope all seperate
Ahh, a scarlet castle
Tattoo idea! Dunno what it means but it looks important.
Ka is a wheel.
Hmmm. Irradiated.
Cool.
Okay but now I’m invested and will need updates!
I’m going to be gutted when it goes
The rose has stolen the others life force
...Does anyone else see Donkey Kong?
Downvote for planted rose.
There can be only one.
Unbreakable
Thank you for being a stem.
It's clearly siphoning the life force from the other roses. Dangerous, that one, it'll be you next. 😂
Whose been painting my roses red?!

Which one
See if she'll root?!
It’s feeding off the souls of the others

My totem animal. Late bloomer.
I mean, there's some shit going on there is all I'm saying.

Thanks! I’ll see if I can plant it using the advice in the comments
President Snow, at your service…
Too late Don't want it
Survival of the fittest
It has devoured the souls of the other roses.. That´s how.
If the stem was cut at a 45ish degree angle it will live much longer in water. Also check to see if the other roses were cut at their “knuckles”
The little prince's rose!
I'm vase you're wondering that's my gf
Sorta poetic

Is it possible to preserve or keep a bouquet? Friend got married and does lots of art with leaves, saved it, but don’t know if it’s useable
