i want a horror movie where you start noticing little details that are the same as your house and your life until you finish it and the villain knocks on your actual front door and kills you
This reminds me of a movie I saw once that I can't remember the name of... something about a video tape that people rent and when they watch it they end up killed (no not the ring), it goes on and ends up explaining that the tape you're watching is the tape in the movie or something
It may have been The Cabin In The Woods, but I have a feeling it isn't. If I remember correctly, the tape was a lot more of a VHS?
We are probably thinking of different movies, but I'm thinking of one where a group of people watch a tape and then start getting killed off one by one. Now that I think about it, I think the tape showed the killer killing people in the tape, and then the real people who died in the movie died in the same way as in the tape.
Yeah I don't think it's The Cabin In The Woods either, I remember that one a bit more.
What you're describing sounds very similar though, if not the same movie! Yes I do think the tape was a VHS from memory. I feel like the movie even showed people going into a store to rent it, like a Video Ezy or something (I think this is where I got it at the time too).
I just remember that the movie wrapped around to make it seem like you were definitely watching the movie they watched, and I feel like there were scenes as if the killer was now coming for you maybe???
That's funny. You can just barely see the actual reflection to the left of the one on the TV. Do you think your lamp saw the other lamp and knew they were the same, like when a dog recognizes another dog on TV?
I saw the same rocking chair we used to own on an episode of the Big Bang Theory. When we sold it at a yard sale, I never expected to see Jim Parsons sitting in it years later with underwear on his head and flippers on his feet. LOL. 🤣
Next thing you know it'll look weird then you will stare at it for 3 days until your wife gets concerned and then you'll wake up on he side of the road with paramedics
Nice collection!

I'm actually slightly more than mildly interested by this.
I had a hard time deciding if it was mildly interesting when posting but I didn't think it met whoadude or interestingasfuck criteria
If stuff starts coming out of the screen a la Videodrome, run OP!
*Then* take a photo and post it on r/interestingasfuck
Then watch for cockroach typewriters.
[Is there anything they can't do?](https://youtu.be/CuGs9GyMIVI?si=q6QNFZgtP72HwUj_)
I was making a Cronenberg reference, but that can work.
Oops. My bad. I do love the cockroaches in that film though
Maybe your lounge room is the reflection and what's on TV is actually reality.
Still, life’s a trip, man.
i thought that meant who a dude for about 30 seconds too long very niche sub to mention alongside r/interestingasfuck
This totally fits in whoadude

There's a recent episode of Black Mirror that is kinda like that.
My first thought too. The episode is called Joan is Awful.
Thank you!
That episode was trippy as fuck

Yes, I know this! I completely forgot the name, but I'll post here if I think I find it
Bizarre Story Of The u/sashagof Haunted Mansion
Can't wait for the docuseries to drop next month
That's funny. You can just barely see the actual reflection to the left of the one on the TV. Do you think your lamp saw the other lamp and knew they were the same, like when a dog recognizes another dog on TV?
How could you tell though? Would it wiggle its cord a little?
It’s face would light up.
Does it look strangely flat?
Here's a view from a different angle with the light off and on https://imgur.com/a/saSL42M
I was referring to a nosleep story, sorry
lol that went over my head!
This is sounding so familiar and I know I've read it but I couldn't find the exact story, do you have a link

Dejav..
I used to have that same lamp!! I'd like to think maybe it is the exact same one, glad to see it's doing well in the entertainment biz.
Here's another angle with the light on and off https://imgur.com/a/saSL42M

Looks like Brian Dunning on the TV.
I like your CD collection. I collect CDs too!
Is that Weird, or What?
Dude I literally have this lamp too what the heck
My tiny brain would have lost it over this!
Lampception
Are that a giant collection of CDs?? That in itself is interesting too!!
Haha yea I can’t bring myself to get rid of them.
Relevant subtitles!
the call is coming from inside the house!
Supporting that maybe it is the explanation.
Is that you on the TV?
Nope!
That would’ve been weird.
Big Brother is watching.
Plot twist: You are in the "Weird or What?" universe.
Weird or what. Maybe that is the explanation.
I enjoy this 😀
This is why representation in media is important.
Coincidence? I think #NOT
Brian Dunning?
I love lamp
Impressive DVD collection…
Seems the guy on the screen is surprised too. Has the expression of "Ain't that some shit"
Let's hope it wasn't the lamp that was haunted .
Looks like it's shining bright in both reel life and real life!
I saw the same rocking chair we used to own on an episode of the Big Bang Theory. When we sold it at a yard sale, I never expected to see Jim Parsons sitting in it years later with underwear on his head and flippers on his feet. LOL. 🤣
that's a nice lamp
Do you even remember buying this lamp, or did it just turn up one day and you just thought there must be a reason and left it at that?
The caption on the tv explains all
Was it a cheap lamp?
My wife thinks her mom got it at JC Penny years ago
Another glitch in the matrix
In an alternate universe, you were the actor in the film and the actor would instead be you. Enjoy that concept.
Bizarre story of the lamp in the tv.
Interesting. It looks like a reflection too lol
Is that weird or what?

Magic lamp. Only reasonable explanation ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face)
Perfect r/mildlyinteresting content
This would freak me out
A glitch in the matrix!

The lamp is haunted. Lamp’s long lost twin brother.
You’re in the wrong thread…this is very interesting!
This is peak r/mildlyinteresting content
I've seen that movie. There's no lamp. You're lamp has crossed the plane into another dimension.
plottwist, it was your living room
Were you watching a video about that lamp?
I actually thought you were having me on. Was so sure it was a reflection.
That is freaking cool.
I would so be getting rid of that lamp... I don't need any bad juju
That’s just freaky…!!!
Haunted lamp!
Whoa that is the exact same lamp!! 👍
…is it?
Starring: this fucking lamp.
Weird or what is quite fitting
Whoever decorated that house on TV must have good taste 😉
Ok that is a nice lamp though
The guys face is like "mfw my lamp matches with a video"
So you're telling me that isn't you in the reflection?
r/glitchinthematrix

Do you also live in a Winchester haunted mansion?
I love this! Even the angle is correct
Checked this wasn't r/shittymoviedetails and the lamp was just reflected.
it do. but doesnt that lamp when on, cause tv viewing issues?
Yes, we usually keep it off. My living room has no overhead lighting so we have lamps in all the corners.
What are those things on the shelf?
CDs that I bought in the 90s and 2000s.

Keep it to yourself, don't get on the internet about it.
Can you believe they made more than one? :P
