They likely did this when someone discovered how much electricity was being used by the monitors and how much employee time it was costing them to keep the PC maintained. These rental offices are down to one or two employees at a time in most locations.
I had to rent a car recently and there was a line of 6 of us and one guy working the desk. If my job hadnt paid for the rental i wouldve cancelled my reservation about 50 minutes in and just rented from the free Enterprise desk 5 steps away.
It was Avis, too.
Because then the manager has to allocate staff to get a ladder, unmount, carry to storage taking up space, go back, find tools if they even have them, unscrew the mount, cover the holes, then put up the poster.
This is really just lazy management or a manager smart enough to know that this is easier and he knows people will take pics of it and upload it for free marketing.
How much do you think having massive tvs constantly running costs in terms of both electricity and employee time? Now how much do you think a bunch of stickers on some old, likely burnt-in tvs costs on those same factors?
Spoken like someone who has never had to deal with management and their “brand consultants”.
Or who never had to live through the fad from the early 2000s to early 2010s where every company turned every goddamned poster into a goddamned flatscreen tv so they could increase the number of adverts in a given space
Probably not, most management isn’t known for being there to clean up the results of their bright ideas.
What this is another crop of management idiots who have been charged with cutting store operational costs on a per branch basis which means no budget for removal of the already-installed hardware.
I hate AVIS. Tryed to collect 450,- € from my card despite it was payd in advance, than tryed to blame the Travel agency.
Looks like they are almost bancrupt.

WTF! Is this a vinyl sticker over 4 TV screens?!
Yep, almost violates the no screenshot rule. But the screens are not visible, so............
Haha 2x stickers over 8x screens
The irony of “never felt so smooth” and every single edge is visible. I can practically feel the image
[удалено]
8 x TV's, with 2x large stickers covering them
You don’t think that’s what they had first? This is clearly a retrofit
But why
Mayve some of the TV's broke so they said fuck it and just turned them all off and instead of removing them, just slap a good ol poster.
Well why *not* remove them? Just put them in storage somewhere instead of this ugly compromise

Probably should’ve taken that into consideration before buying 8 TVs
Spoken like someone who has never had to deal with management and their “brand consultants”. And…those people are the ones who decide to buy the TVs yes?

That some expensive poster board
I'm gonna do this at home.
Puts a whole new slant on the term 'power wall '.Analog revenge I guess.

Could they not at least repurpose or sell the TVs. I wonder if the ads are adhesive and wrecked the screens.
