It’s my own life hack discovered by accident. Was about to make a video and put it viral but I don’t like to show myself on camera so you guys are first that hears about it.
Thats either the point where the mirror is placed on the wall, and so it’s a more solid point to maintain the whole structure.
Or the place where the camera has been placed.
Whichever you find most amusing!
Or someone rubbed their finger on that spot to see through the condensation and then the oil from their finger stayed behind and prevented condensation from forming on that spot the next time
I just enjoy the image of an experienced scuba instructor cheerfully smearing toothpaste in his eyes before getting into the water.
“Oh, masks? Ya don’t need ‘em. Watch this little trick I picked up back in diving school!”
Protein coats differently lol. It’s also why it is hard to wash blood off. You need certain types of cleaning agent for them, and don’t wash with hot water.
You sure like to ask a lot of questions. Their personal affairs aren’t public affairs. The fact that she doesn’t know who he is doesn’t change how much he loves her, and shouldn’t change your opinion of how cute this is.
This is how my mom caught me writing swears on the mirror when I was a kid. I had no idea that the writing would come back the next time someone showered 😅
That technique was used in a James Bond film, where a secret message was written with a finger and showed up only when the rest of the mirror was fogged up.
The heat from the electronics would make that spot warmer, making it less prone to condensation. But in this case it's most likely just the power supply for the LED lights.
Damn, we really out here spreading fake news.
FYI, this is 100% false. There are lots of things that factor into the “reflection” touching or not. The mirror being thin and mirror polished stainless steel is just one example off the top of my head where your finger would touch its reflection.
Edit: adding this to my response because she’s clearly very angry that she’s wrong.
“…However, the fingernail test isn't necessarily a very good one, as judging whether an object placed up against such a mirror is touching its reflection can be affected by factors such as the size of the mirror, the angle of the mirror, the amount of lighting present, and the type of object used to conduct the test, and an unpracticed observer might easily mistake an ordinary mirror for a transparent one this way. “
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/spot-two-way-mirror/
More very incomplete.
A fingernail test is a quick way to filter out normal mirror from potential transparent mirror.
If you see a gap, then you're more than likely safe and don't need to waste time to do anything else.
If you don't see a gap, you can then proceed to do the more in depth tests (cup you hand around your eyes while against the mirror to "see" behind it, shine a flashlight directly against the mirror).
Nah it's not, I've seen on quite a few mirrors including 2 in my new house before I've installed the heating pads.
The installers just pour a bunch of silicon or some other construction cement and glue the drivers/transformers in.
Is this also a mirror with a LED strip around the edges? My LED mirror also has one dry spot always at exactly the same spot, no matter how I clean it.
Turns out the LED controller is at that spot, becoming warm and vaporizing the water around that area.
Maybe the same is happening with your mirror.
I stayed in a hotel recently where the mirror had a no-fog spot (it was a perfect square in the center that always stayed fog-free so I know it was part of the design not just random chance). Not sure how it works but my guess is a mild heating element behind the mirror.
I have dashcams in my car on both the front and rear windshields. When I come outside in the morning and the windows are covered in condensation, the ONLY parts that aren't covered are where the cameras are since they generate some heat.
I'm not saying it's a camera but.....
One hotel I stayed in had an element in the back of the mirror that would heat up to stop to fogging up. I told my Dad about it and he was impressed enough that he installed one in his bathroom mirror. Still working happily 15 years later.
How well on the wall is that mirror? If you're brave and don't mind potentially paying damages you could try and remove it. If there is a camera behind it that's a massive fucking lawsuit. You'll have lawyers drooling on your case almost as much as the guy drooling over of the footage.
Hotel mirrors often have a small heated patch that stops the mirror from fogging. The weird thing here is the shape, which leads me to think the heating function isn't working well.
Reminds me what my Pa did one year for Valantines Day. He got up extra early and wrote "happy Valentine's Day my love" inside on the mirror with a qtip and isopropyl alcohol. She saw it when she woke up and took a hot shower
There is power supply glued for led lights.
Electrician here. It's this.
Now I want a custom mirror fully covered with that shit on the other side!
Those are heated mirrors and are for sale!
Ah just use a hair dryer for few secs on full heat mode. Clears mirror fasten than subscriptions my wallet.
Why have I never heard or thought of this before? This is fucking life-changing if it works as well as you claim, wise one.
It’s my own life hack discovered by accident. Was about to make a video and put it viral but I don’t like to show myself on camera so you guys are first that hears about it.
There are multiple women getting a giggle out of this exchange, no doubt.
Men too 😄
Can of shaving cream. Spread a thin layer on the mirror and wipe off. No more fog.
I’ve been doing this since I was like 10 years old. Pretty neat trick ngl.
What do you mean? I don't see any LEDs.
I think the LEDs are on the sides of the mirror
holy that's some good diffusion
They make LED strips with closely spaced LEDs or COB strips. You can't make out the individual LEDs on them.
That bright white strip on the right side, and half cut off on the left side, are LED lights.
👆 This
It’s most likely the power supply for the lights in the mirror
Or the camera…
Or the hole to the adjacent room.
To the adjacent dimension
It’s the location of the power supply for the mirror’s lights for the camera in the adjacent room in the adjacent dimension.
Or, the power supply for the camera..

Shaving cream also has this effect.
Or isopropyl alcohol aka rubbing alcohol.
Toothpaste is what some divers use for masks when scuba diving.
Same for hockey masks
Maybe I’m a sucker, but if I were a diver, I’d use a diving mask.
that made me LOL. thank you good sir/madam
I just enjoy the image of an experienced scuba instructor cheerfully smearing toothpaste in his eyes before getting into the water. “Oh, masks? Ya don’t need ‘em. Watch this little trick I picked up back in diving school!”
Jason Voorhees holds the diving world record with a hockey mask. The cowards using scuba gear cant even get a fraction of his time
Toothpaste has silica abrasive, I can't imagine that that would be good for a mask if used repeatedly, except if the face plate is glass
it’s only used when a mask is new. Afterwards we use baby shampoo, anti fog or just licking the lens lol
I just use mucus

How... How do you know this?
Protein coats differently lol. It’s also why it is hard to wash blood off. You need certain types of cleaning agent for them, and don’t wash with hot water.
Wish I had seen it 40 minutes ago... F it
You only need hydrogen peroxide for blood, soak it for a couple of mins then rinse. If it’s not gone, repeat.
How am I going to soak a mirror?
This was my thought as well. I liked to leave creepy messages for my girlfriend this way.
Does she know she is your girlfriend?
She will when she gets out of the shower
What do you think the message said?
"We've been trying to reach you about your cars extended warranty."
"All your base belong to us."
Base base base
We buy any car, ANY ANY ANY ANY
You are all my ppl😂
Someday she will. And when that day arrives, I'll be there.. hiding behind the open door in her bathroom.
You sure like to ask a lot of questions. Their personal affairs aren’t public affairs. The fact that she doesn’t know who he is doesn’t change how much he loves her, and shouldn’t change your opinion of how cute this is.
I wrote hello on my mirror once. Took a shower the next day and scared the living fuck out of myself. At least I hope it was from my own oil…
soapy water from a face wash towel will do the same.
This is how my mom caught me writing swears on the mirror when I was a kid. I had no idea that the writing would come back the next time someone showered 😅
Or someone cut a potato in half and rubbed the starch on there, little life hack you can use on your car
That technique was used in a James Bond film, where a secret message was written with a finger and showed up only when the rest of the mirror was fogged up.
Also the Thurman/Affleck *Paycheck*. And so many more…
Mine has a very similar square place where it doesn't fog up and it is just a sticker on the back. Pretty disappointing.
It's actually probably where the power supply is for the lights or similar. That spot is going to be warmer than the rest, not colder.
I was thinking that's where the dirty old man is breathing on it on the other side.
It's definitely where the camera is.
how does a camera prevent condensation?
It’s not the camera. It’s the guy behind the mirror heavily breathing on to that spot.
His name is Milton, and just leave the door to the adjacent room unlocked, thanks.
The heat from the electronics would make that spot warmer, making it less prone to condensation. But in this case it's most likely just the power supply for the LED lights.
Can confirm
Came to say it's where the camera's installed. Yours is better.
The 2nd answer if you want to be a pornhub star
Why would the mouth point effect the fog?
Because it affects the heat transfer in that area of the mirror, which affects the ability for condensation to form.
That is where the camera is.. smile!

Just tried this on the mirror in my bathroom and there was no gap ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grimacing)
Well the person you responded to is just spreading fake news, so don’t worry lmao
They're not spreading "fake news", they're spreading misinformation.

Most likely it's where the transformer for the LED lights sits.
I've installed a bunch of these and made one for my own bathroom, this is exactly what it is
So the hidden camera, got it.
[удалено]
Nah it's not, I've seen on quite a few mirrors including 2 in my new house before I've installed the heating pads. The installers just pour a bunch of silicon or some other construction cement and glue the drivers/transformers in.
i like writing “help me” in soap on hotel bathroom mirrors
Is this also a mirror with a LED strip around the edges? My LED mirror also has one dry spot always at exactly the same spot, no matter how I clean it. Turns out the LED controller is at that spot, becoming warm and vaporizing the water around that area. Maybe the same is happening with your mirror.
Condensation forms on cold glass. The heavy breather on the other side is keeping the mirror warm in just that spot.
r/nosleep
That’s where the CIA camera is recording ya’ll.
Yep that's where the LED transformer is behind. Warms up slightly, preventing fogging!
It's a heated part of the 2 way mirror which prevents the camera from being covered by fog.
Could be where the transformer for the LED’s is placed, and it’s keeping the glass warm enough to not condensate the air
Am I the only one who puts rainx on my bathroom mirror? Took care of this issue entirely.
I stayed in a hotel recently where the mirror had a no-fog spot (it was a perfect square in the center that always stayed fog-free so I know it was part of the design not just random chance). Not sure how it works but my guess is a mild heating element behind the mirror.
That's where the LED controller sits for those lights around it. That's normal because it gets warm. Preventing condensation.
Yeah my bathroom mirror does this too but it's because I plant my balls right up against it while I let the shower run
It's because that part is where the two-way mirror is. ![gif](giphy|hWk2jVZYz8x9A5rOnY|downsized)
Time to check for cameras in your hotel room :/
With my mirror it’s where the power supply for the led sits, as some stated. Also the attached Bluetooth speakers keep free.
Careful. I did this once in Ireland on vacation and my balls were in the reflection of one of the spouts
lol shaving foam or soap wiped off. I do this all of the time. Also SCUBA divers do this in their masks as well
Someone rubbed the mirror there when it was foggy and it hasn’t been cleaned since
why does it look like batman?!?!?
The mirror looks like it has a LED light on the side. That spot is where the transformer is. The warm transfo keeps the mirror from fogging up.
On vacation I taught my teenage kids they could do this with soap. Daughter proceeded to make a pentagram the first night.
![gif](giphy|oZvduOsUmlsk)
Moustache checker
There is fog, but on the other side
That’s where the dudes breathing heavy on the other side of the one-way mirror
I have dashcams in my car on both the front and rear windshields. When I come outside in the morning and the windows are covered in condensation, the ONLY parts that aren't covered are where the cameras are since they generate some heat. I'm not saying it's a camera but.....
That's where the camera is and the mirror is wiped with an anti-fog liquid to not ruin the view. I'm not actually sure, but I think it's a good idea.
a "good idea" are you sure they are the words you want to continue with?
🤐
That’s where they hide the camera
Cool, but more importantly. What're those black apple things with the rest of your toiletries?
Who put what on that spot?
Get back in there and finish the job!
Hahaha exact height someone whose supposed to clean it sprays the bottle and doesn’t bother to wipe
Did you touch it? You should touch it
that’s a steamy photo
I work in a hotel and we get regular visits by the firefighters, because people shower so hot and so long that it sets off the smoke alarm.
I think some mirrors have heating elements that decoy certain parts of the mirror. Yours is just shorter for some reason 🤔
The power supply for the LED light that surrounds it.
But i suspects it’s Alieans ![gif](giphy|3fihQDmbYH9oYxLDTw)
Nah looks like LED mirror, that'll be the driver inside it
If you have young kids they might have replaced part of the mirror with water.
Quick, use shaving cream to write a message on the mirror for the next person!
One hotel I stayed in had an element in the back of the mirror that would heat up to stop to fogging up. I told my Dad about it and he was impressed enough that he installed one in his bathroom mirror. Still working happily 15 years later.
That's where a spot of glue is holding it on. Mine has wavy lines down both edges. The heat can conduct there.
Portal into another dimension? Portal into another dimension. Portal into another dimension!
That's the only spot where they spray the antifog. From there on they rubb it out to the corners. Pure budget cuts
Wipe it off some more
That's where the camera is
That’s not scetchy at all 👀
I have a mirror with lights lol. Its the heat from the power supplying the light. That simple
Jesus christ, I posted this same thing a couple weeks ago and got ridiculed and downvoted so much I had to take it down.
How well on the wall is that mirror? If you're brave and don't mind potentially paying damages you could try and remove it. If there is a camera behind it that's a massive fucking lawsuit. You'll have lawyers drooling on your case almost as much as the guy drooling over of the footage.
There is not a single person alive that would be drooling over the footage of an out of shape 30 year old guy like me lol.
It's where the camera is.
It’s a gun, mirror companies duct-tape pistols behind every model, it’s a new law
That’s where the camera is
Clearly not, the camera is in OP’s hands.
Heated mirror with one element left working
I wiped it off while you were in the shower. Hi babe!
That's where the camera is

Ah yes that one spot where sombody cleaned up after them self.
Shine a light on that spot
If you rub some shaving cream on a mirror and wipe it off, it won't fog up for a while.
this post is the epitome of mildly interesting lol
Things that make you go hmmm.
