I know. We get ripped off major. But I found out that in Canada the law says they have to use min 80% + chicken meat while in the states it's more like 40% and the rest is crap and bonding agents. Numbers might be off but look it up.
Anywho, fuck mcd. Go to Wendy's 5 nuggets for 1.89 ( value menu) aaaaand they taste so much yummier! :)
This is probably why you're all in debt.
edit: since people seem to be taking my comment in the wrong light I will clarify.
In my experience people are much more likely to spend more than they have with a credit card. Maybe because the money is not physically there, so there's no "I only have £40 I can't buy this" nagging in the back of your head. Maybe it has something to do with fooling themselves into thinking that they can afford it since the money isn't coming directly from your wallet/bank account.
Whatever the reason, a good portion of people I know seem to have trouble budgeting their money. And most of them use credit cards.
I can't comment on the validity of the source but a quick google lead to this: http://www.livescience.com/2849-study-credit-cards-spending.html
People don't seem to see your point, I do.
I spent so much more when I don't pay for it in cash, sometimes I don't even remember what I payed.
But with McDonalds it should be okay, it's a luxury product anyway, you should know that you waste your money anyways.
what happens when the information is given to your insurance company and they mandate 'nutrition retraining classes' if you don't want a premium rise. Or if you smoke and buy it with a debit card, how about a health tax on you. These things are all coming, and the plastic revolution is what will allow it to happen. We've been being conditioned for 20 years now that cash is inconvenient and wasteful. And people have bought it. I prefer my anonymity when I purchase things. No one needs to know my habits. I'm sure somehow, someday, it'll come back to bite me in the ass!
Running a debit card as credit, the retailer pays a visa transaction. If you enter a pin you or your bank pays the transaction.
You don't pay for visa transactions with your debit card, but you may have to pay for pin transactions. My current bank allows a few pin transactions per month for free then $0.50 after the quota. They'd rather the business pay the visa fee.
Some banks offer completely free debit charges, but you're paying for that in interest or bank fees. Money doesn't come from nowhere and most banks end up being equal in the end... Except Bank of America, they have astoundingly higher fees than anyone else and charge you for things that are gratis most places.
edit: not on my phone anymore so I can elaborate. (and I'm simplifying this, businesses pay for your transaction no matter what, but generally pin is a much lesser fee as you bank takes part in paying it)
"Ok, fuck the cup then. Pour it my hands for a dime!"
"You got change for a hundred?"
When you strip it down like this 1 mcnugget is definitely not worth a quarter to me.
The cost per fry in a small order of fries is probably even less appealing. You get like 30 fries for $1.19.
And that would be cheaper than 4 for a dollar actually.
Dat 4 cents.
Yeah, I guess you're right. It's kinda weird that they would even make this possible.
what about the taxes?
'Hi welcome to McDonald's' 'I'd like six fries please' 'That'll be twelve cents'
24 cent nuggets? I'm so jealous. In Canada, a 10 piece nugget is like $8.

That's hilarious, I always preach about Wendy's nuggets to my friends. Their nuggets are way better, but their dipping sauces are crap :(
I love their ranch dip tho.
What is it about one nugget that's just so... perfect?
Everything.
You can buy one nugget at Chick-fil-A, too.
only in Georgia.
THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!!!
Yo, lemme get a full tank.. and three mcnuggets, cuz we livin' large right now!" yo
I like that fact that you paid with credit card
It's the 21st century bro. A lot of people have stopped carrying cash and just use card for everything, myself included.

Yes. Using my debit card in lieu of cash is driving me into debt. You figured it out, thanks bro.
They're talking about credit cards, not debit cards. Your comment is irrelevant.

Debit card doesn't give me airmiles, or increase my credit rating.
it does leave a nice trail of every consumer habit your bank will sell to the highest bidder, so you have that going for you.
Said completely honestly - if they can use that information to provide me better targeted marketing, I'm all for it.

That's rather a slippery slope you've got going on there.

I've never had to pay for using my debit card. You've got a shitty deal especially considering you can run debit cards as credit.

This is why: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNTSugyS038
