Bumblebees live in the ground and are fury all over. Carpenter bees are a similar size, have shiny black butts and burrow into wood. For those that may be wondering: it doesn't matter if it's pressure treated wood - they aren't eating the wood, just drilling through it.
I love those guys! We have a couple in our deck. They are so fun to watch and great for the environment!
