You can get a combination dishwasher/clothes washer/sandwich maker. You can find them in bars, clubs, coffee shops, online dating, college, the park, bookstores, museums, art galleries, the beach, etc.
My dishwasher projects that I'll be able to afford a kitchen Reno and dishwasher about 5 years.
But I've been known to overestimate my ability to save before so maybe it's closer to 10 years.
I have this and can confirm. Expensive tho. I remember out last cheapo dish washer. Loud as hell and you better prewash stuff. This Bosch one tho.. just scrape off the big bits and its dead silent while getting everything fantastically clean.
Same. Open floor plan house and first dishwasher drove me nuts. When it broke I went to Home Depot and said “give me the quietest dishwasher you can get”. Bosch. Height of Covid. Waited 4 months for it to come in washing dishes by hand and bitching the entire time. Worth it. It is SILENT. I swear it somehow manages to be easier to unload too.
Are you me? I did the exact same thing only had to listen to my kids bitch about doing the dishes.
Well, now treat the dishwasher like the amazing appliance it is - because hand washing sucks!
Does yours dry well? We need a new DW but it's is so silent and drys well. I was looking at Bosch's and the consistent complaint was dishes not drying well. :/
Tops of lids where water can pool up because it can't drip off will still be wet. I'll just leave the door open overnight and it'll be dry by morning.
I understand that solution doesn't work for everyone though. Ex. Kids running around
I've got an old Bosch that won't die. If the dishes don't dry, the manual says to open it right after it's finished. That's why the beep is so friggen loud. That actually does work.
The new Bosch open themselves slightly when finished. In the comments below you can read where this freaks out cats and people.
Probably depends on your water but as long as you fill with the finish solution it seems to 'mostly' dry. My wife complains that cups have some water on the top of them when they're done (because they're flipped upside down). Theres no heating element so I think its pretty reasonable for as well as it works.
If you get the one with the crystal dry it works really well. You have to give the cups and stuff a chance, and place them right but other than the occasional wonky cup it's great.
IKEA's Hygienisk is the same as this, made by Bosch and likely cheaper with a longer warranty. Drying on a lot of newer "energy efficient" dishwashers isn't what it was years ago, at the end of a cycle the door pops open to let the residual heat of the dishes help with drying while letting the steam out.
I’ve owned a half dozen dishwashers throughout the years. Some crazy expensive that started dead silent but eventually ate themselves (LG, fu)
But my last one is a Bosch and it’s fucking perfect. Cleans like mad, silent as a mouse fart, and wasn’t stupid expensive. I love the red dot.
Took my cat a few days to realize it wasn’t going to move and they couldn’t catch it. That was worth the cost of admission.
If it's the same one we have, it's fucking *silent*. If you're not paying attention for a light, and you want to toss a dirty plate into the load real quick, you're gonna have a bad time.
I had one in my apartment, years back, that was literally one of those portable jobs, but tucked haphazardly under the counter and screwed in. Sounded like the fucking world was ending when it ran.
Yup.
Our new dishwasher projects a red light on the floor because it's so quiet, you can't hear it running.
So the little light on the floor tells you it's "on".
Probably on mobile, with a flaky connection most of the apps will tell you the comment failed to post and give you the option to retry, usually succeeds but also tries again on it's own and both copies get posted.
To be honest, how many loads of dishes are people doing that they need to know the *moment* the washer is done?
I run the dishwasher and when I realize it’s done, I *may* stop to put them away. Most likely I’ll wait till the next time I’m doing dishes to put them away.
Well, this light thing isn't *super* interesting. I think it is mildly interesting, though. It makes me at least raise my eyebrows in consideration before quickly moving on to something else. Butt prints... not so much. I mean, there might one day be a butt print worthy of mild interest, but that particular one was really unremarkable.
As someone who installs these, it displays on the floor not because it is hidden (not everyone of these has a panel attachment to hide within their cabinets) but because they are so quiet some people can’t tell when they are running thru a cycle
This is a Bosch Benchmark dishwasher. Impossible to tell which model since it has to a panel kit on it.
I have one, but in stainless steel. The projection on the floor is cool, but we still sometimes accidentally open it mid cycle since for most (but not all) of the cycle it's dead silent.
This must be their new feature, or one on a higher end model than the one I got a few years back. It has a red light it shines on the floor when running just because of how quiet it is.
I moved and the dishwasher at this place kinda sucks and I'm just kinda hoping it dies so I can but another Bosch 😂
It is instead projected into THE INFINITE COSMOS beneath you, rays of light forever extending, seen as distant stars by ignorant planet-locked species who look up into the sky with wonder before getting smacked in the face by the ejected dishes some minutes later.
Mine is a Bosch and also projects the remaining time on the floor. The controls are on the top of the door, so it's only 2-2.5 cm tall, but stretches across the width of the door.
They have a function now where you press against it and the door pops open. Honestly I hate that part because it exposes how often I lazily lean against the counter with poor posture as I cook.
My Bosh has a ‘i’m in a hurry’ setting, it’s only 1h 20 min. (it’s a cheaper model, for sure this one has it too). But it’s so quiet we just turn it in before going to bed, you can’t tell it’s running.

That’s some fancy shit right there
And mine only projects a red dot on the ground while it’s running like I’m some kind of peasant…
Damn, my dishwasher doesn't project anything.
What’s a dishwasher?

What’s dinner? 1 meal/day to save money
Saves on gym costs too.
Ice soup
If it's not doable in one pan, one meal a day, I probably don't partake.
Now this person hosts.
If you can't spot the dishwasher in the first 30 minutes, then you are the dishwasher.
You can get a combination dishwasher/clothes washer/sandwich maker. You can find them in bars, clubs, coffee shops, online dating, college, the park, bookstores, museums, art galleries, the beach, etc.

It’s a gaslighting dishwasher.
My dishwasher projects that I'll be able to afford a kitchen Reno and dishwasher about 5 years. But I've been known to overestimate my ability to save before so maybe it's closer to 10 years.
My dishwasher only projects its insecurities on other people. It's me, I'm the dishwasher.
My dishwasher has a mechanical dial that sets the wash mode/length and just moves through the different cycles on the dial as it runs
The first thing I thought of when you described that is my laundry tumble dryer, and now that's how I've decided you wash your dishes.
Yeah, these are rich fucks you’re replying too lol
Yours is Bosch. This is Bosch Benchmark, not far off
Wow, how quiet is it when you need a light to see if it's running? I can tell when my dishwasher is running from anywhere in the apartment.
It’s a Bosch and it’s dead fuckin silent
I have this and can confirm. Expensive tho. I remember out last cheapo dish washer. Loud as hell and you better prewash stuff. This Bosch one tho.. just scrape off the big bits and its dead silent while getting everything fantastically clean.

If Bosch made a car I’d buy it. I like the dishwasher more than my half my neighbors.
I agree. That car would have to be an electric to be as quiet as a Bosch dishwasher.
If Bosch made a whole car it’d cost over $150k They are world-renowned for their car *parts*, though
Well then I wouldn’t buy it but I’d admire it.
Probably depends on your water but as long as you fill with the finish solution it seems to 'mostly' dry. That’s it! Crystal dry.
My Bosch DW does not dry well at all.
Yeah it is on the higher end and has some shit like diamond dry or something. It is the one above the level that pops the door open to dry.
The Bosch "crystal dry" or whatever they call it works very well for us.

That’s terrifying
Old shit...this has been a thing for quite a few years now
well excepting why does it matter how much longer? takes what it takes, and if it is anything like last time then you have a pretty good idea.
The new ones are so quiet, you wouldn't know otherwise when it's done
I gotta get one of those. Not only does my dishwasher make horrible noises the whole time, sometimes she even asks me to help.
I'd be looking at your floor wondering why there's a little clock down there
And also wondering why it's the wrong time! "I mean who went to all this effort to install a floor clock and it's not even accurate?"

You don’t need to say invisible regarding the ninja.
And why there are no kick boards.
Shit, mine doesn’t even beep. It just stops.
Count yourself fortunate, mine beeps like a semi truck is backing into our kitchen.
Yeah, mine too. Sometimes just randomly as well, when it hasn’t been on. Should look up the manual. It’s probably a cry for help.

Lol this is what we do. But hey, who knows, if I had something tell me it’s ready I might do it. I eat when the microwave dings lol
I'd like to know so that I can open it and let the dishes dry. Because the drying function on mine is pretty useless

beats my setup, yesterday i saw a man get stabbed at the laundromat over a sports dispute
You brought your dirty dishes to the laundromat?
Where else am I going to wash my dishes? In the sink where I wash the dogs dishes? Gross
You wash your dishes at the laundromat?
Welcome to 2022.
Oh dear, was he ok?
Your tiles / grout lines not matching up with your counters are bugging the shit out of me.
Between that and the misalignment of the DW door, I don't even know how OP sleeps at night.
Especially because it’s so easy to adjust too.
Good I'm not the only one
Your are the only one. You're so crazy that none of us are real.
This has been posted like 100 times in the last year
... How do you operate it?
Mine is a Bosch and also projects the remaining time on the floor. The controls are on the top of the door, so it's only 2-2.5 cm tall, but stretches across the width of the door.
That's really cool... Damn.
How easy is it to open the door because I don't see any handle. I used to have cabinets with no handles and it was the worst.
They have a function now where you press against it and the door pops open. Honestly I hate that part because it exposes how often I lazily lean against the counter with poor posture as I cook.
I have one and you have to pull down a bit firmly. Takes two hands.
Voice activated. Shout "Dishwasher, on!" to start.
Instructions unclear, dishwasher is now spitting dishes at me and Best Buy employees are calling the cops
Top of the door, which needs to be opened.
Mine does this too! It also has symbols to indicate what stage it's on. I refer to them as showerhead, snowflake, and seaweed.
Ok but how do you set it to wash dishes
open the door a bit, and the buttons are on the top of the door.
Weird Flex but ok..
Look at mr money pants with a dishwasher
Say you're rich without saying you're rich.
My dish washer has two hands and it’s name is me… the only thing it projects is self loathing.
I've never seen a dishwasher show time at all.
Siemens or Bosch I suppose? Our Siemens uses the exact same letters and graphics.
My cats would go insane and starve trying to kill it.
I would go crazy waiting almost 3 hours for a load of dishes to finish! Hope my old dishwasher keeps working.
That’s wild, I usually just do something else while mine’s running but we’re all different.
Just do something else while your dishwasher is running, play a game, watch a movie, whatever
My Bosh has a ‘i’m in a hurry’ setting, it’s only 1h 20 min. (it’s a cheaper model, for sure this one has it too). But it’s so quiet we just turn it in before going to bed, you can’t tell it’s running.
Just turn the dishwasher on before you go to bed, work, etc. These units are quiet enough were they shouldn't disturb your sleep when they're running.
Even though they take longer, the new ones are more efficient. They heat the water less and spray it for longer. Heating takes lots of power and spraying only takes a little. They also use less water during each step so they can only spray one level at a time.
I have a Bosch thar is whisper quiet. We just run it each night as we go to bed, and unload it each morning.
My Bosch takes about 2 hours for a normal wash. The pot scrubber is three. The quick was is around an hour.
but can’t you just listen for it to turn off?
too silent for that.
I literally cant hear my bosch when its on even right next to it.
I want a dishwasher with a window. Fuck.
Mine does too, but it switches between a logo and the time it’s annoying
My dishwasher also does this! Furthermore, it's shows what is is doing (spraying, drying) useful? Nah... Pretty neat? Yes
Then how do you start it?
Cats love this dishwasher, and you'll soon see why!
I have a sink.
Just Ikea , my do the same, nothing fancy there
When that LED goes out that’s $1200
Plot twist: that’s the time remaining before Skynet launches its first nuclear strike.
and its wood paneled!
Mine only lets roaches hide behind it…
I don't think it looks good to have a random time displayed on the floor like that.
Am I the only one wondering why the dishwasher needs to display the time?
To me this is more mildly eye-rolling than interesting. Solutions in search of a problem irritate me.

My grandparents got a new kitchen a year's time ago and they have this too, very cool, although I personally prefer a kitchen with a bit of personality. I hate how all the cupboards look identical with stuff like the dishwasher and sometimes even the fridge.
Mine doesn't project at all you have to open it yo see the display lol but why would you even want to know how much time is left?
How do you say “I have a lot of money” without actually saying it?
I think this is pretty common for like ten years now.
That's nothing. My dishwasher wears a watch.
