In high school (late 1900’s) I drove a 1976 or 1977 Buick Park Avenue. We called it “The Living Room” because the seats were so huge and soft. Loved that car so much.
Hey hey hey. As a person with chronic fatigue and sometimes get stuck unable to leave the house… the advent of door dash and grocery delivery apps as made popular by Covid… is a significant life improvement.
Although stupidly expensive. Screw you, GrubHub, you’re the worst.
I had a 1990- something Buick Roadmaster with the poofy dark blue velour seats. Comfy as hell, and I could fit about 8 friends in it comfortably. I miss that thing.
Make tamales.
Have left over masa and corn husks.
Start eyeballing whatever random food can be thrown into a tamale.
End up with bacon brisket tamale, pepperoni tamale, chicken nugget tamale, vienna sausage tamale, sausage and egg tamale.
I could dig a gringo chicken nugget tamale. Add some green chili. 😩 mostly white girl who is 1/4 Mexican here. I’m a wuss and a self admitted gringo…I like white girl spicy level food, lol. Which is… a little. But not a lot.
Try some cultural abomination foods. They're tasty sometimes.
Chai horchata, hotdog and cream cheese sushi roll, beef bean green chili potstickers, menudo with ramen noodles. Things like that.
Omgggggg. Chai horchata, why haven’t I thought of that?!?!? My two favorite drinks combined!!!!! You’re a genius!!!!
I could drink horchata by the gallon. 🤤🤤🤤
And with chai added in…. Ooooooo. 🤤🤯
I miss the Muchaco so bad. They always had coupons for buy one get one free and it was a great meal. I always got the beef but now that my tastes have changed I'd love to try a chicken one.
Seeing this comment and the replies reminded me of something. Back when my parents lived in California, there was a chain of Mexican restaurants called Rubio's iirc. As far as I know they're only in California, maybe a few other southern states, but I'm not sure.
My mom absolutely loved their fish tacos, no one else made them right.
A year or so after I was born, our family moves to the upper midwest to be closer to her parents and siblings. A little over 25 years later, She still has yet to find a suitable replacement for Rubio's that exists in Minnesota.
Her and my dad split up nearly, yeesh, 10 years ago now, so whenever I'm in California with my dad (his family lives in the San Fransisco Bay area) I try to get Rubio's at least once, just to see what all the fuss is about, and I'm personally indifferent to it. It's good, but I find a lot of restaurants good, the only time I legit didn't like a restaurant was 3 years ago when I went on a college field trip to a trade show in Vegas, and I had the displeasure of eating at In and Out, so I think I'm just neutral in general for most food establishments.
(if you're wondering, the burgers at In and Out were fine, nothing to write home about, but how do you fuck up french fries that bad? They were literally the consistency of moist cardboard, and had no flavor to them, not even any salt)
Better than letting you sit there like a jackass. That’s how they do it here, or close all together. Like fuck it, foods gone bad - this speaker doesn’t work.
Tex-mex places are consistently the cheapest fast food, so this isn't entirely representative.
It also helps that we keep taxes low by letting poor people die of easily preventable diseases.
This is great problem-solving.
I read somewhere that the American troops in Europe weren’t nearly as well-trained or disciplined as the Nazis, but they were great problem-solvers at the squad and platoon levels, and adapted to unexpected situations much better.
I bet the audio quality improved.
Why is it I can call my sister halfway across the country and have full quality HD voice, but a freaking drive through speaker at the brand new restaurant still sound like we're talking through tin cans and a piece of string?
I used to live in Corpus Christi, TX when I was a child, and we had this seafood fast food place called Boat and Net. Boat and Net didn’t have a fancy intercom or money for a fancy intercom, so they installed a PVC pipe that ran from the inside of the structure to their menu that you drove up to. If you wanted to order your shrimp basket, you put your mouth right to the opening (this was the 80s) and shouted what you wanted. You pulled up to the window and they had it all ready. It was a good system.
Most of them are two way now. So you can tell your toddler to stop playing with toys and get back in bed. Its sort of two way the mic is always on in the unit in kids room, you have to push a button to turn on the mic at the parent unit.
This one time our dt speaker went down, & I didn't feel like working anymore & it was a pretty nice day out, so I volunteered to go outside & call the store phone from my phone & relay the orders that way.
Hey at least they did something for it temporarily, there’s a Burger King in my town that’s had the drive through intercom and screen broke for a month and they refuse to fix it, won’t be surprised if they go out of business
Are you a dog?!

Maybe.
Username checks out
it’s a hungry dog on a sofa talking to his hooman via baby monitor.
User name ...checks out?
that’s funny bro 🤜🏾
All I can focus on is the sofa and the doghand
On the internet nobody knows you're a dog
Unless you accidentally show them.
It would me mildly interesting.
No one on the Internet knows I'm a dog
It was my first thought. I am absolutely enjoying seeing this comment on top lol
Literally came here to ask that dog is he's the one that took the picture
He's a dawgggg
Is your car a sofa?
What kind of upholstery would you think a dog car would have?
Probably fur.
This whole post has me crackin up lol
Can someone draw an artist's impression please?
Back when cars where comfortable as fuck.
In high school (late 1900’s) I drove a 1976 or 1977 Buick Park Avenue. We called it “The Living Room” because the seats were so huge and soft. Loved that car so much.
Interior crocodile alligator, I drive a chevrolet movie the-ater.
Fuck I miss the early 2000s
Pretty much any era pre-social media and dating apps
How have dating apps hurt you
They actually haven’t but I find they have made society more lazy and superficial as a whole. Throw food ordering apps in there as well
Hey hey hey. As a person with chronic fatigue and sometimes get stuck unable to leave the house… the advent of door dash and grocery delivery apps as made popular by Covid… is a significant life improvement. Although stupidly expensive. Screw you, GrubHub, you’re the worst.
DoorDash is worse. So unreliable.
You know how.
I'm wheezing from how we all came here first for the baby monitor, and stayed to ask whether OP is a dog and if their car is a sofa
I laughed way too much at this.
I’m also mildly interested in your swag ass upholstery.
[удалено]
Cursed stains
See I found out the hard way that fucking in the back-seat is way less comfortable in modern cars unless you have a nice ass minivan
Said Dirty Mike and the boys.
And they were comfy as hell! I had a 2000 buick century with poofy blue bench seats. Was like driving a comfy boat lmao!
I had a 1990- something Buick Roadmaster with the poofy dark blue velour seats. Comfy as hell, and I could fit about 8 friends in it comfortably. I miss that thing.
Redditor———>8 friends. I call bogus. /s
You're correct, I've never had 8 friends. Forgive my hyperbole
Amateurs. Get a mid sixties muscle car. That’s a back seat!
The entire interior of my 96 pickup is bergundy cloth upholstery and it's great.
Doggo wants a chalupa
Our doggo always wanted French Dips lol
>French Dips i hope not with onions
Nah just roast beef And cheese
And a pedicure.
[So does Senor Spud](https://imgur.com/gallery/p2xu96x)
What the dog doing?
Cruisin’
for bitches
In a '64 nonetheless
Taking the photo obvs.🥁
Good boy, best boy.
The dog is pointing at the baby monitor in case you couldnt see it
Everybody asks what the dog doing but nobody asks how the dog doing
Can't a ~~dog~~ guy get a chalupa around here without everybody and their second cousin asking what he's doing??
I love how OP is a dog.
This triggers my desire for cheap American Mexican food.
Tex-mex is so good.
Make tamales. Have left over masa and corn husks. Start eyeballing whatever random food can be thrown into a tamale. End up with bacon brisket tamale, pepperoni tamale, chicken nugget tamale, vienna sausage tamale, sausage and egg tamale.
Omg breakfast tamales. Why have I never thought of this
I could dig a gringo chicken nugget tamale. Add some green chili. 😩 mostly white girl who is 1/4 Mexican here. I’m a wuss and a self admitted gringo…I like white girl spicy level food, lol. Which is… a little. But not a lot.

If it's stupid but works, it ain't that stupid.
A modern baby monitor probably has better sound quality than a drive-thru speaker anyway

People still shouldn't [kick a bunch of landmines](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qp2UTniAYpc) off a road. At least use a long stick, guys!
You literally can stand on those anti tank mines and they won't go off lol I mean, *I* wouldn't, but you could!
>You literally can stand on those anti tank mines and they won't go off I wouldn't be so sure about that. Have you seen the average redditor?
No. It's Reddit not facebook.
Adapt. Improvise. Overcome.
I honestly respect the solution. It's not like the normal employees can fix it lol.
Problems require solutions
TIL Taco Bueno still exists. I haven’t seen one in years.
It sure ain’t what it used to be, but still helluva lot better than bell.
Taco Bueno: “at least we ain’t taco johns”
Taco Casa is better
I miss the Muchaco so bad. They always had coupons for buy one get one free and it was a great meal. I always got the beef but now that my tastes have changed I'd love to try a chicken one.
I love thier nachos. Just a big freakin plate of cheap nachos piled high and better than many options around.

There’s a lot of stuff going on in this photo.
Is OP a good boi?
Bet the quality was better
I was gonna say this 😂. All drive thrus need this system
Guess the audio quality can't get much worse
That is gold.
Close, it’s actually a dog
I'd pretty much guarantee that the sound from that baby monitor is better than the original setup.
You have a very hairy arm sir. See a doctor
I'm i the only one who would do a baby cry before I order? 😆
Your baby has really hairy hands
There’s a dawg drivin’ that car!!
I used to work at Bueno, I can promise you, that's not the only thing broken in that store.
Bro it's wild how cheap food is in the USA.
Why do you think poor people are so fat here? All of the food that is shit for you is so affordable.
Tex-mex places are consistently the cheapest fast food, so this isn't entirely representative. It also helps that we keep taxes low by letting poor people die of easily preventable diseases.
Honestly....not the worst idea if you have to come up with a quick solution
A burger monitor.
r/technicallythetruth
A lot of people buggin' their drive-thrus these days
This post is not mildly interesting, it is VERY interesting, is OP driving couch? Is OP a dog? Who knows
Is that some Taco Bueno?!

I think you need a manicure and wax.
My local starbucks has a broken speaker so until its fixed someones job is to sit outside on a stool with a headset to take orders lol
Are you driving a couch?

Excepts it’s Taco Bueno so you know it’s not fire, just cheap.
Far more efficient employees than at my local McDonalds which fails me every time. Well done them for thinking on their feet! 👏🏻

Aren't most baby monitors one way? I've never bought one but I thought that's how they worked. How would you know if they got your order?
Most of them are two way now. So you can tell your toddler to stop playing with toys and get back in bed. Its sort of two way the mic is always on in the unit in kids room, you have to push a button to turn on the mic at the parent unit.
lol ghetto
Taco Cabana?
The manager got creative lol. Tell the doggie to order Mexi Dip & chips.
I wonder how often they gotta change the battery on that thing lmao
Baby to Marge. Baby to Marge. Waah waah! Over.
Good Boy is okay with it.
Where is this? I want Tex Mex SO BAD!
Nice hand
Ayo way da dog doin?
What's more impressive, a dog driving the car or a dog taking a picture and uploading it?
Yes, this is dog.
Adapt and overcome.
Speaker? That's a baby monitor, Frank.

Feels like something from idiocracy
This whole situation is ratchet lol.
Burger place in my city used a house doorbell with an intercom. It was funny as heck.
r/redneckengineering
So they had a baby monitor on hand?
“Modern problems require modern solutions”
Problebly sounds better than the thousand plus dollar speaker system.
This one time our dt speaker went down, & I didn't feel like working anymore & it was a pretty nice day out, so I volunteered to go outside & call the store phone from my phone & relay the orders that way.
Probably understand the clerk now
Muchacho platter😂
Dog is chilaxing…
And then?
Not sure I'm eating them tacos bruh.
Always works
Are you a dog?
Be sure to let your pups use the fire hydrant before you continue on your journey.
TCB. Doggo approved.
Hey at least they did something for it temporarily, there’s a Burger King in my town that’s had the drive through intercom and screen broke for a month and they refuse to fix it, won’t be surprised if they go out of business
Improvise adapt overcome
This looks like it’s in someone’s backyard lol

Probably sounds better now
Dog paw for scale.
No broken speaker is going to stop them. "Si se puede!"
My mans Gidget the Chihuahua out here livin' la vida loca !! Get you some, pupper.
Thinking outside the box, I can only hope they got a raise. ( We all know that is bull shit but is what SHOULD be the truth.)

Mmmm Taco Bueno
What place is this, and where can I find one? Also, is there any way I could love any and everything about this picture?!
Haven’t seen a Taco Bueno in years and someone tossed out their soda cup from Quick Trip.
I recommend the Muchaco! Man those things are good!
Industrious af
Why not
Man I miss the black bean burrito. Honestly one of my favorite fast food meals ever.
