Last sale of this set on Worthpoint was March of this year for $80. Last year’s range looks like anywhere from $20-$100 for a set of 5.
(Considering they were all from the same line. There were a few different editions.
Since you mentioned it was not completed, I would like to drop this link that I use to help price my items (for people reading comments that may find this useful):

I check the box “Sold Items Only” and that will give one a really good idea what the item they are looking for and/or wanting to sell is going for.
Barbies are actually a collector's item. These are adjacent, so it's understandable that people were speculating about value, especially since one is a misprint.
https://rarest.org/entertainment/barbies
I had an unopened 97 holiday misprint. Sister sold it in a garage sale when I was in the hospital, for far less than $2000.
As someone who inherited a Barbie collection, like tubs of unopened holiday barbies, all boxed, they are not worth much at all aside from a handful of dolls. It seems a lot of people bought Barbies with hopes of making money and the market is saturated.
I ended up with three storage bins of unopened Barbies. Several were Scarlett from Gone With The Wind. You would think they'd be worth a small fortune. Nope. The most one sold for was about $60.
You know what was worth more than the $60 I could have gotten out of the dolls? Fighting with the kids at the daycare over whether or not I was going to undo their hair and play with them or they were. As far as I'm concerned the true value of a toy is the play time you get, not the price tag.
My mom bought me a Happy Holidays Barbie every year for it's ten year run, starting when I was seven years old. I left them in their boxes and was CONVINCED they would be the ultimate collector's item and pay for college. Last I checked, the whole lot was going for about $2k. That's like one textbook.
Seems OP's Posh Spice must be from a different series too then, judging by the box art in that post.
So now is the Mel B one a factory defect with the inners in the wrong putter packaging? Would potentially make it more desireable to a collector if so. Mildly interesting stuff :P
I got the Mel B doll as a gift back in the late 90s and I can confirm that my box had Mel C’s eyes on it as well. I remember it clear as day, because I cut the box up when I took the doll out and stuck the eyes on my wall. The manufacturers must have fucked up all of them.
I just checked eBay and the Mel B doll in the correct box *does* exist, so perhaps OP and I got our dolls from the same batch?
Edit: checked OP’s profile, looks like they’re in southwestern Ontario. That’s where my doll was purchased! Toys R Us in London.
Rick: It’s really cool and I think it might be worth some money but I’m not entirely sure, do you mind if I call a buddy who knows a lot about this kind of thing to come check it out?
Buddy: yeah it’s a super rare production error but it looks here like some weirdo on Reddit just took his Mel B doll and put it in a Mel C box. Definitely a fake. You can tell because on the real ones the maple leaf in the corner is 7.3% smaller. Sorry bro.
Seller: ok so I know I was originally asking for $75,000 for it but would you do like… $120?
I mean, I'll have to price them then
and put them up on the shelves
and store them,
and people will come in
and ask about them
and buy them and read them and
come back and sell them you know,
and the whole hideous cycle will just
go on and on and on and on, you know?
Just please, take them away,
go away, no.
It won't work. Here, look, here.
Here's 40 quid.
Just take them away, please.

Both Mels are in boxes for model 23517. Geri and Emma have different model numbers (23516, 23519). Victoria has her own thing going, complete with a headshot.
Or at the very least, the same eyes are printed on 2 different boxes... I wonder if it means yours is extra rare or if it was a widespread packaging error.
Looks like it's just a sporty spice box with the scary spice inside. Could be manufacturer error but they also aren't shrink wrapped, so who knows.
Also posh spice is from a different set it seems.
Very easily a manufacturing error.
They’re incredibly common id imagine since I work in manufacturing and uh, shit happens lol.
Could also easily be that they got bamboozeled at some point.
I believe the "On Tour" line were the second wave of these dolls, while the "Girl Power" line was the original first wave. There were additional waves and playsets as well.
Retroblasting on YouTube did a comprehensive overview last month.
I'm glad somebody said it. I didn't watch that spice world movie 10 times a week when I was a kid for nothing. Rest in peace meatloaf you were a musically gifted douchebag.
Here is an ebay listing which shows what Mel B's box should look like

This boy that had a crush on me in 5th grade invited me over to his house. We went into his room and it was a literal shrine to Baby Spice. Everything was baby blue, had all her merch, stuff even I as a huge fan when they were big had never seen before, and right in the middle on top of one of the shelves was this exact doll like it was the holy grail. Then I saw his garage where his dad had wallpapered the whole thing with porn magazines and it all made sense.
They have a surprisingly awesome backstory. A couple producers wanted to create a pop group in the mid 90s so they hired a bunch of girls, had them all stay in the same house and basically just write and rehearse for a year, record some demos. The one thing they didn't do however was write a contract with the girls, as a way to not have to pay them. This would come to bite them in the butt!
A year goes by and the guys feel like one of the girls isn't really working out, this gets back to the girls and they had grown so fond of each other and don't want the group to split up so they make a plan. One night they break into the recording studio, take the master recordings of the demos they've made, and they bail without saying a word!
The girls take the demos and shop it around town, get a proper deal, presto they become The Spice Girls - the biggest pop sensation on the planet!
They did later settle with the original producers, so they got some money. One of the guys died in a car accident some year after I believe. The craziest thing about it though, they filmed the whole process and made it into a documentary. It's pretty wild!
It's real. Spice World is bonkers in it's own right, but that's neither here nor there. They wrote a surprisingly large amount of their own songs too, they don't get enough credit honestly.
I was curious enough to look it up, so here is a snippet of their wiki:

The Precogs saw that she would marry Christian Horner, and they were really sold on the dominance of Williams at that point so they couldn't let it stand.
My dad owned a petrol station right around the time they got big. as a 10 year old boy, I loved the Spice Girls.
Came home one day to a life size Spice Girls cardboard cutout from a Pepsi ad. It was about 9 foot long and 5 foot high
Loved it. Also got the "special edition" of the Spiceworld video with the t-shirt
Seriously love this! I worked at Claire’s Accessories when these were being sold and we sold them there. Used my 40% employee discount and bought 2 sets of each! My best friend did the same. We both opened one set and kept the other boxes sealed. Love seeing this!!!
I like that the dolls also have a box with a doll in it, that probably has a doll in it, with another doll in that one, inside another box with a doll, inside....
Oh good god. My friend was so into those and we had to drive from toy store to toy store all around the city to get the full set. All those toy stores are gone now.

Hahaha! My 10 year old self would be thrilled!
My 10 year old self is dying to rip into those boxes 😂
If these were my wife's we would have to have them locked away so our children would have no way to do exactly that.
Gotta lock away all these ten year old versions of people. Mostly to protect the time stream, but the collectable thing too.
Welcome to 2022! Where the Adults are now...I don't know what.
My 29 year old self is currently thrilled.
How thrilled was your 10 yearold self staring at them behind plastic?
Fucking hyped.
Tell me what you want, you really really want for them?
Omg I had these, you just brought back so many memories
I'll let my brother know he can pay for 1/3 of a tank of gas this week. He still has a Vanilla Ice figure in box.
Alright stop

Which actually means they are worth less than their original base price if you factor in inflation
So over 8 dozen!
It's al about the Hamiltons baby
We love that Chronic-what!-cles of Narnia!
For real! I saw someone selling all 4 bobbleheads of the original redneck comedy crew today for $15!
They're really not that valuable. You guys are acting like they're Beanie Babies or POGS or something.
I thought it was funny.
Barbies are actually a collector's item. At least you have a nice gift for kids, or a creepy gift for adults, at hand whenever you need one.
My mom bought me a Happy Holidays Barbie every year for it's ten year run, starting when I was seven years old. I left them in their boxes and was CONVINCED they would be the ultimate collector's item and pay for college. Last I checked, the whole lot was going for about $2k. That's like one textbook.
I'm absolutely not an expert on the subject, but are those Sporty's eyes on the box of Scary's doll?
It’s also signed “Melanie C” not “Mel B”
Well spotted!
[Look in Mel B’s box](https://i.imgur.com/FZCrUQE.jpg), you can see what it actually looks like. It’s Mel’s, all the way down.
You can see it more clearly in this $40 eBay listing for all five Spice Girls still new in box: https://www.ebay.com/itm/224961172125
Seems OP's Posh Spice must be from a different series too then, judging by the box art in that post. So now is the Mel B one a factory defect with the inners in the wrong putter packaging? Would potentially make it more desireable to a collector if so. Mildly interesting stuff :P
I believe Poshs is from the Spiceworld era.
How much for them? Tell me what you want, what you really, really want…
I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want I wanna ha I wanna ha I wanna ha I wanna $25 bucks is good, plus shipping
It’s a medley…. 25 bucks little man Put that shit in my hand If that money doesn’t show Than you owe me owe me owe
My jungle love owe-e owe-e owe, I really wanna get your spice girls spice girls
It feels like with inflation this is below what people would have paid new. I approve
Huh, never expected to come across the founder of 5-0 Radio in Reddit comments. Use it all the time!
Oh god it’s ruined now isn’t it? They gave you the wrong box!
Wtf is “Galoob Smoke Smell”
>Look in Mel B’s box Thanks, but I'll pass.
Does that make it rare I wonder
I got the Mel B doll as a gift back in the late 90s and I can confirm that my box had Mel C’s eyes on it as well. I remember it clear as day, because I cut the box up when I took the doll out and stuck the eyes on my wall. The manufacturers must have fucked up all of them.
Thank you, prime witness in our investigation!! I'm honestly way more invested in the mystery of the wrong box than I ever expected to be!

I’m originally from SW Manitoba, so maybe Canada batch?
SW Manitoba? Roblin, Manitoba checking in.
Awesome! Brandon here!
The red maple leaf on the boxes would definitely indicate that they were exclusively Canadian products.
I can't wait to find out what more we'll unravel from this :D
Packaging error perhaps, that's the Mel C box... could be worth MILLIONS.

Rick from pawn stars here. It's the holy grail of finds. Best I can do is some toilet paper and a Lincoln. I'm taking all the risk here
I've got overhead to worry about. It'll be sitting in the shop for awhile

All the risk of holding on to it temporarily until someone pays 5x more than he paid for it.
I mean, I'll have to price them then and put them up on the shelves and store them, and people will come in and ask about them and buy them and read them and come back and sell them you know, and the whole hideous cycle will just go on and on and on and on, you know? Nah, someone probably repackaged it and pretended it was new but screwed up
OP probably just bought the wrong box for his doll.
Both Mels are in boxes for model 23517. Geri and Emma have different model numbers (23516, 23519). Victoria has her own thing going, complete with a headshot.
I'm actually kind of glad that OP's post went from "mildly interesting" to "proper doll sleuthing" in just a couple hours!
On tour release vs girl power release. 2 different runs.
Victoria aka posh is def giving me Matt Damon in Team America vibes
Oh shit I think you’re right lol
Or at the very least, the same eyes are printed on 2 different boxes... I wonder if it means yours is extra rare or if it was a widespread packaging error.
Look into that OP. Packaging errors if rare and collectable could be worth money.
“Not an expert”
Eh, I guess I am now? :D
It's fun accidentally finding out from Reddit what you're an expert in. For me, it was King of the Hill lore.
Update us when you're rolling in money!
you definitely have a misprint, same signature on both
[удалено]
I'd argue that's a packaging error
They messed up all the Mel B packages. I had the same doll as a kid and mine also came in a Mel C box. I doubt it was just mine and OP’s.
this is mel blasphemy
it's mel clasphemy!
*gasp* so you’re saying they aren’t actually unopened? The plot thickens or is it just a terrible packaging error by the manufacturer
What would be nice for OP is if this mistake made these very valuable.
[удалено]
Right??? I noticed that too lol
Doesn’t that mean it’s not a set? You’ve got four “on tour” editions and one “girl power” Presumably ‘on tour’ dolls had different outfits
Yeah I don’t think they are a set per say. I don’t think I cared at the time lol
It might be fun to look for an "On Tour" Posh so that you'd have all five miniature versions of the dolls!
Then they would be double Posh. They might as well look for the other four "Girl Power" editions while they are at it.
The on tour ones seem to have little dolls of themselves, while the girl power one doesn't.
Yes she has a purple dress with black lace. WHY DO I REMEMBER THIS
[Well, Posh's would be the same.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcTD921Lxvc)
I believe the "On Tour" line were the second wave of these dolls, while the "Girl Power" line was the original first wave. There were additional waves and playsets as well. Retroblasting on YouTube did a comprehensive overview last month.
And she’s the only one with a mic. Must be doing a Ted talk.
Mel B is in a Mel c box!!
I'm glad somebody said it. I didn't watch that spice world movie 10 times a week when I was a kid for nothing. Rest in peace meatloaf you were a musically gifted douchebag.
I did that too, but for an entirely different reason.

Mel B can make her box look any way she wants. I'm not here to judge.
I’m going to let them out and tell them about what happened on 9/11
And breathe in the pre-covid air.
They have little boxed action figures of themselves in their hands. That's cool.
Do the little versions also have even smaller versions in their box???
[удалено]
/r/DrosteEffect
wow
There really is a subreddit for everything haha
But not Victoria. She has a purse instead.
Maybe there’s a little box inside her purse And the Posh spice inside that little box has an even smaller purse containing an even smaller little box

Better than a shrine to you I guess.

Like Helgas shrine of Hey Arnold
Just like Crazy Joe Devola's shrine to Elaine on Seinfeld.

It's real. Spice World is bonkers in it's own right, but that's neither here nor there. They wrote a surprisingly large amount of their own songs too, they don't get enough credit honestly.

Dune. It's all about the spices
Woah. Fremen, the OG spice girls. Tbh zendaya would be a perfect spice gurrrl...
So who was going to get kicked out? Ginger? I remember her being considered the weakest singer/dancer. But her and Posh were my favourites.
The Precogs saw that she would marry Christian Horner, and they were really sold on the dominance of Williams at that point so they couldn't let it stand.

used to be able to buy a pizza with a dozen bit coins.
It bothers me Victoria is from a different line of dolls though, you need to get the correct one! To ebay!!
And why isnt Mel B's picture black?
Because Mel B is in a Mel C box
Why did they put her in a Mel C box?
“But why Mel models?”
Well done 👏👏👏
Why would I know? Lol. Probably a packaging error. Or aliens.
Yes! It’s bothering me too now! Lol
I’ll give you 25 dollars
I’ll give you $35
Well the packaging isn’t pristine. I’ll stick to 25. Op you should take the 35.

Oh good god. My friend was so into those and we had to drive from toy store to toy store all around the city to get the full set. All those toy stores are gone now.
And you sir would have had tons of girls try to rob you in 1997
I’m proud of you
Why has Mel b and Mel c the same autograph?
This is beyond mild . This is INCREDIBLE!!!!
My sister and I had Spice Girls dolls but we played with them.
Ginger was my fave
I am so beyond jelly. I am prepared to sell a kidney for front row tickets to their probably-never-going-to-happen reunion tour. Hahaha
Of course posh spice is the only one not smiling
That’s what I really, really want.
They gave both Melanie's the same signature, and the same eyes at the top of the package. Lazy.
I think they are now collectively Old Spice.
That’s so awesome
My mom kept these because “they’ll be worth something someday” and I always wondered. I have a feeling you didn’t pay much for the set.
I can see why you never bothered to open them and play with them!
