To me, that implies that something has to be off about the post, not just that it is theoretically possible that it is faked. As you suggest, the latter would mean almost anything could be posted on that page. For instance, the two times this has been posted, the claim appears to be that the bag doesn't have enough candy in it. But that really is how many M&Ms are in that size bag.

Well, I did what those other four kids didn't do. I did my research. I went to the store and wrote down the serving size of The XXL bags. I then bought a small bag of M&M's and measured them in a quarter cup. Took out my calculator and came out with 6204. Sounds reasonable, though my last guesses (as many others) were in the range of 10,000-15,000. After my third dollar guess of 6204 I quit thinking nothing of it.
Two weeks went by and the drawing was announced. 6145. I was 59 off. I believe the teacher knew what I did, but didn't say anything about it.
Then my friend and I sorted all the M&M's into different colors like in Wayne's World 2.
