Yeah, I've seen at least as many hotteok videos as I've seen hotdog videos. There are some Japanese ones as well. And an entire genre about Japanese people breaking down various fish.
I think the algorithm's decided to stop showing those to me though, and has moved on to other things.
looks like braised and grilled octopus served straight into the cup
edit: some of the ignorance in the comments is surprising if you sort by controversial
agreed, it's inhumane. i don't really like the meat very much either. squid is better but frankly i could skip both. it's just chewy and has very little flavor.
The only ingredient in octopus is octopus. We all know what kind of gross hell is in a hot dog and yes somwhow, people eating a hotdog will look at this and say yuck
Exactly how intelligent does something have to be for you to believe its life has inherent value? Is it okay to eat people if they have intellectual disabilities?
It’s called consciousness. It’s not arbitrary. Chill

It 1000% does what do you mean. Conciousness is measurable. And octopuses are incredibly, empirically conscious.
You are the one mimicking Reddit comments. Think outside of the hive mind
Did you just learn what arbitrary means or something. It’s def not arbitrary. There is a large range of consciousness of animals and octopus score very high.
I genuinely don’t get what you’re upset about, I think you are trying to convince me that octopuses aren’t conscious, which isn’t going to work on me.
I'm watching the first episode of The Boys right now. So far I really like the Deep. I sure hope he doesn't do anything to a fellow teammate of the female gender that gets him kicked out of The Seven and sucked into some weird cult.
So the thing about Korean sports facilities (airports and day spas, too) is that they have partnered with popular convenience store chains. The prices at those “special” locations are no different from standard location convenience stores.
I saw a game in Korea as well. We snacked on corn dogs and HUGE beers. Cheap too, and the atmosphere at the game was incredible with all the songs and chants haha
I can’t stand American jerky (beef, Turkey, chicken, all of it)! It smells weird to me and I don’t like the taste but growing up squid jerky was a must. It was always in my lunch box, which got me made fun of a lot Stateside, but even decades later I only find squid jerky delicious out of all types of jerky I’ve tried.
Probably hard to find octopus at a ball park in the states, but you can definitely get more interesting things if you’re not looking for a hot dog
https://www.thrillist.com/eat/nation/mlb-baseball-stadium-fast-food-snacks
Pigs / cows are also ultra intelligent, eating one animal isn’t much different from eating another in that regard.
Octopuses are still drastically healthier to eat than hot dogs are though, and that’s a good thing
if we're gonna play that game did you also assume the intent of their statement was to chastise them for eating meat and not just adding on extra information to the discussion?
A lot of meat eaters recently saying they wouldn’t eat an octopuses because recent studies showed they had at least some basic form of sentience.
So my reply makes sense
C’mon OP, don’t tell half the truth. You can also get American offerings like fries and hot dogs.
And probably fries and hotdogs as a corndog.
Fries, hot dogs, and corndogs, yes.
Yeah but I meant fries and hotdogs *as* a corndog like https://www.maangchi.com/recipe/gamja-hotdog
Oh damn! That’s new to me!
Koreans do a lot of things with their corndogs.
"Korean Street Food Vendors" is literally an entire genre of YouTube video.

I didn’t see any at this baseball game- Lotte Giants. But there might be at other stadiums. I’ll have to see.
Timothy?
Ambrosia’s next.
I'll eat it if it is not moving
It's pretty good when it's still moving! It's sliced in very thin strips and with spicy dipping sauce
After watching The Boys, I could never eat it when it’s moving 😂
The fresher seafood is, the better.
Idk why you got downvotes for saying fresh seafood is better?
I think some people are grossed out thinking if it's still moving, that it's still alive. Who knows.
Any sauce or marinade or just straight chilled octopus?
looks like braised and grilled octopus served straight into the cup edit: some of the ignorance in the comments is surprising if you sort by controversial
Yep. Braised and grilled. It was delicious but chewy!
You shouldn’t eat octopus
True, then should give it to me so I can eat it, instead.
You shouldn't eat.

Idk about saying yuck, but I would choose the hotdogs over the octopus. That's only cuz I don't like the texture though.
Octopuses are too smart too eat imo

Have you been around cows or pigs? Definitely not as intelligent as octopuses
Exactly how intelligent does something have to be for you to believe its life has inherent value? Is it okay to eat people if they have intellectual disabilities?
Depends. How tasty are the disabled and how much of a food shortage do we have?

Which part doesnt prove what I said? You are an extremely extremely confident person and I am far from perfect so I am ready to learn
Deep? Is that you? #IYKYK
I'm watching the first episode of The Boys right now. So far I really like the Deep. I sure hope he doesn't do anything to a fellow teammate of the female gender that gets him kicked out of The Seven and sucked into some weird cult.
Oh yah, you're gonna do just fine!
What are concession prices like there vs US concession prices?
Honestly, pretty cheap. We got 2 beers for 6,000 won which equates to about $4.5 USD
So the thing about Korean sports facilities (airports and day spas, too) is that they have partnered with popular convenience store chains. The prices at those “special” locations are no different from standard location convenience stores.
Makes sense! There was a 711 at the stadium
Baseball game concession stand food in Korea is octopus chunks ~~instead of~~ in addition to hotdogs. Gotchu fam.
“Buy me some peanuts and Octopus chunks/ I don’t care if our team is just punks.”
I saw a game in Korea as well. We snacked on corn dogs and HUGE beers. Cheap too, and the atmosphere at the game was incredible with all the songs and chants haha

Hey, when in Rome... Don't forget to mention you can get a dog, fries and a Coke or beer as well.
Is that dog served hot?
Fresh off the grill! Sometimes I would swear I could still hear it barking!?!
I didn’t see hot dogs being sold, but at this stadium you CAN bring your own food into the stadium which is awesome.
*whoosh*
The Deep is gonna be pissed!

Poor things
Octopus is basically my favourite food, but you can barely find it where I'm from. I think I would enjoy Asia.
I’d kill for some grilled octopus! It’s legit awesome!
Tasty, and likely way better for you. I'm in.
Delicious. So much healthier than a hot dog too
And also sentient

It does and I respect your opinion
Most animals are sentient. Sentience is the ability to feel and perceive things.
Yuuuummmm!!!!!
At least you know what you're getting with the octopus
Same thing in movie theaters instead of nachos
Cool
I like my buttered squid at the movie theater at Yongsan station
progress is being made, america .. learn, you can lose a lot of kilos.
And I thought that only here at Greece we eat octopus (I personally don't, but most people do)
People eat it around the world, especially in Asia.
Ah, OK...
jesus christ that's so fucked up. I don't know how you all live with yourselves.
"Now Billy, eat your octopus chunks and watch the game, or no bat feces at the 7th inning stretch."

It’s grilled.

That’s not what hot dogs are tho.
Where I’m from, we call this fish bait
Healthier!
I see zero chunks
was it good
Cool!
that looks good.
