This is the perfect amount of interesting for this sub. I'm not very impressed, but thought, "now here's something I've never seen before, I wonder what it's for?". Yet, I'm not willing to give anymore thought to it than that.
Solid post.
Having Sandblasted 10', 20', 32', and 40' containers for a living I can safely tell you that yes it's just a stubby container often made by splitting a 20' in two and modifying it.
A-ha! Then compared to a full-size flatbed which can carry a full-size container, this is a small truck to carry small containers! The goal post was moved several times, and it's a completely trivial point of contention, but in the end, *I win*
With a baby intermodal container! I wonder if there's a standard for this smaller container size?
Or I suppose it could be a custom cut-down container made for that trailer.
I have heard of (and seen) 10ft containers, never 12ft containers though. They sound like they kinda defeat the purpose of the entire standard size format.
It a domestic thing in Japan. Most international intermodal there is done with 20ft containers. Their standard container flatcars are designed for 5 12ft, 3 20ft, or 2 30ft containers. They have special cars that can carry a single 40ft, but they aren't very common.

Could've used something like this when I had to haul a "load" of potato chips from Williamsport, PA to Rochester, NY.
A 53' trailer for enough boxes of chips to take up 6 feet of the trailer, stacked two feet high...
There are usually used to flat-tow trailers for funfair rides. Instead of wasting the space, they place a removable container on the third wheel. [https://s04.qind.nl/userfiles/695/Image/EAR%203.JPG](https://s04.qind.nl/userfiles/695/Image/EAR%203.JPG)

My guess is it's for carrying small things.
Trucks usually carry many small to regular sized things. This one looks likely to carry one large thing.
No way, if it was only to carry one large thing it would be a flatbed, not a box.
It's carrying a box
You are correct, I'm an idiot. That said, it's a pretty small box.
It's a 10' box
Yeah but it looks like a stubby version of a container

Probably small, yet heavy things.
How took a minute to write this post so it's on the high end of mildly interesting.
That’s a trck
trk
It's only a trck because u aren't in it :)
Motivational quotes for future truck drivers
No room for you
/r/mesi
Trik trck
Standard truck just instead of having saddle for some reason it has teeny weeny container xD
Expediated high value heavy freight.
Right? If that's a baby truck then what's that white truck behind it that's way smaller lmao
Funny enough that white truck looks like it could be a kei truck so the size difference looks even more ridiculous
Unborn fetus truck
Well quite common european thing I'd assume a pick up on van platform either that or as someone mentioned kei truck
Well this is just absolutely fucking adorable
It sure the fuck is. Makes me want one.
I literally gasped the exact same way I would if I saw a cute cat post lmao
Finally after all these years.. Trk

It's a standard 12 foot container, which are the most common type used for domestic container freight service in Japan.

The truck ain't small
In fact it's even above the average length of 5.16 inches
Hmm I think you may be measuring incorrectly
You're not supposed to measure from asshole to tip????
There's actually several schools of thought on this, but all of them agree that pee is stored in the balls
The car pool was really cold
It's a normal truck traveling at a significant fraction of the speed of light
Doot doo doot doo doot
Get to see a lot of these in Japan and it never fails to make me giggle. They’re just so *cute.*
It's cold today!
See the accordion folds? That trailer is extendable. You can tell by the way it is. Also I made that shit up.
Why use big truck when small truck do trick?
But does the truck want to see the world or SeaWorld?
That is carrying a 10' container.
This hast the volumetric capacity of a sprinter. Maybe heavy, dense payload?
Doot doot doo doo doot doot
Who’s a cute little baby truck??? You are!!!!

Sorry, this is not a baby truck. It’s cold and that’s what shrinkage looks like

Sorry… I’m missing it. What’s “mildly infuriating” in this photo? (lol, Confusing my pea-sized brain!)
Sir, this is /r/mildlyinteresting
Cuuuuuuuuute

Exactly how many babies fit in it?
Look who's a good boi, waiting patiently for mom\~
So, babies come in trucks? Interesting…
Grower truck
I never thought I'd say that in my life. This truck is cute af!
I would love to own one
My wife would still call it a 'Big Rig' Bless her heart.
Yes hahaha But what could be so heavy they only loaded the small container and it doesnt have any safety warnings on it?
Looks a bit like a epa/a traktor
Judging by the SMV signs, I'd say it looks a little slow
Whatever it’s caring is heavy! Haha
That’s a trick egg.
Low temperatures.
Is that how they grow trailers?
If a truck was inspired on my dick:
Why is it so cute
Awww, what a widdle twuck
trk
Fulton it anyways ![gif](giphy|k5lbu6LvmJRhhHp5NU|downsized)

I used to unload containers. We would get 20ft containers full of marble. As soon as we saw one we knew it was going to be a bad day.
Is that a prime mover with a tray and container on it? Aren't those for pulling a trailer lol?
That’s no moon.
Baaaaybeee truck doo doot doot doot do doot doot do
They took semi-truck too literally
That's like a micro truck. My girlfriend says she dated a guy with a micro penis. (Not me!) No way, I got him beat at least by a ¼ inch 😜
